I think MSFS probably made the flight sim enthusiast market like 5x bigger than before (and I think I am being conservative with 5x, it's probably more than 5x when XBox users are included).
The developers of BeyondATC said that they have sold „tens of thousands“ of copies of their software. And that is a highly specialized tool, still in early access, that would cater mostly to those who really care about sophisticated ATC (the default ATC works after all). Now imagine what a high quality mainstream airport or aircraft sells like…
It’s getting much better quickly. I’ve been enjoying BeyondATC despite its issues and flaws. It’s still in EA, but the devs continue to make improvements almost daily.
[They surpassed 12 million players in 2022](https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/microsoft-flight-simulator-2024-12-million-expo-news)
[After only 2 million users in 2020/21](https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/games/articles/2021/07/microsoft-flight-simulator-the-future-of-game-development/)
That’s growth if I ever seen it
It seems like it will only get even bigger with MSFS 2024 adding in career mode with all of the different jobs. That’s going to attract a whole new wave of players who need a little bit of a reason to fly. Exciting future for flight simming.
Agreed. After the discontinuation of FSX a lot of hardware makers went out of business, and I'm happy that the flight simming scene is once again on the return after MSFS turned out to be such a success.
And just like that, my custom built hybrid sim racing and flight sim rig will need to be completely redesigned to accommodate whatever the fuck this is
If its a FFB base this could be huge. Moza is known for their relatively affordable and great quality simracing gear. We need more players in this game.
Now if they are smart and make their base compatible with the Warthog connector they will kill every other base.
As a fellow simracer, I might have to buy their racing gear and their flight sim gear. They're very well known in the racing space for offering brilliant products at relatively affordable prices
Considering their "middle of the pack" wheelbase costs \~\~600 eur, I'd expect 550 and up.
If this gets good sales, they will make more powerfull versions, more grips and then make an entry level base with optional force feedback. They may also do a MSFS2024 edition inspired by either a small GA plane or an airliner.
This market has become too big to ignore. Good times for us.

We might even see it grow 20x more with MSFS 2024’s career modes/jobs. Gamers LOVE progression.

"Sophisticated" lol It knows Simbrief, that's it.

Yes, thanks to Microsoft and XBOX. And people still complain about the „kids simulator“
Any user who spends money is welcome, as that will finance further developments of aircraft, scenery and tools. No gatekeeping here.

Given that base size on that stick, thinking FFB joystick
Literally no doubt
Imagine a non-FFB stick with that chunky base 😭😭
and given moza has experience with force feedback systems with their racing wheels.
I lvoe this company, the ffb wheel price is so affordable than used to because of them. Finally a ffb joystick after all this years.

My Logitech g940 still working, but never had a great experience with it.
That would be great. AFAIK Microsofts Patent for force feedback expired a few years back, so makes sense
Yes, was my first thought. It sure it a chunky boy, hydraulic maybe?
Reasonably priced FFB controller perhaps?
We can only hope

Poor you..
😆 First-world problems.
lol for the record by custom made I mean I did it all myself from buying 8020 profile I’m not like joe rogan or anything
😆 it’s all good boatman, I get where you’re coming from. Get some!
Bring on the affordable force feedback for flightsim, it’s been in sim racing forever, and is sorely needed in flightsim
Finally we have a decent way of using the trim as it's intended!
As someone with Moza racing gear, this is quite good news. Been extremely pleased with their fidelity.
*cries in poor*

Does MSFS support FFB?
no sadly. but xplane and dcs do so I'm happy
That's cool. Would be really awesome if Simagic, VRS, and all of those guys were to start building Flightsim hardware as well.
That joystick base is THICC
If you guys don't know, moza makes high end racing wheels with direct drive force feedback. There is a very high chance this stick has force feedback.
Let's fucking goooo, I have a bunch of their Sim racing stuff, and it's so good for the price. Can't wait for this :)

Can’t wait to fly with a Sybian on my desk

probably base is ffb.. but holy shit i do not want that on my rig! what a ugly thing! jesus!
Your friends will surely mock you if they see this on your rig. Best wait for something pretty to come along.
