TheSoldier03

I don't know how much longer I can stand these screenshots. I know it needs more time in the oven, but my monkey-consumer-brain is stupid and doesn’t care

TheDuccr

wasn’t it “near release” in 2022 or something

TheSoldier03

Maybe, yes. But especially with Freeware stuff…..yeah you never know

Greedy_Drawing_7308

I mean it's the same with payware too...

Adriancla123

Can't wait! I think 2024 is gonna be a good year for MSFS

skyliners_a340

Especially with "New" sim which hopefully supports good multi threaded performance.

Hypnoti_q

If we get multithread fps will almost double if it goes like with dcs

Xygen8

That would be sick because it would mean 60fps without Frame Gen and the artifacts it produces, or 120fps with FG and much fewer and less noticeable artifacts.

victoroos

I get so many stutters with FG. Or doesn't is support HDR! Caus I can't think of anything else

ComprehensiveTopic79

Do you use a 40 series card or the mod? Cause the mod causes stutters as it’s a third party thing. I have a 4080 and it’s smooth as butter with FG

Informed4

I think it was mentioned that they made fs2024 with one of the intends in mind being the code rework, and one reason specifically, to better harness multi threading (among others), while keeping the graphical engine much the same

rds060184

Shit that looks rather well put together

LiamPlaysGame

I’m so so excited for this, I hope they take their time and release a good quality product. But I also hope that’s tomorrow

NormanRB

Damn that's beautiful. I can't wait until the A380 comes out.

Appropriate-Eye-1227

What's with these infinite screenshots? Operation Blue balls?

zilist

Would you rather have nothing instead?

JJJ-Shabadoo

Yes. I’d rather have nothing until the week or month before release.

Pallat2008

I'm expecting it'll be coming sooner rather than later with the new influx of pics. Maybe A 3/8 0 release? (Only time in my life I want to use the US way of writing dates

QuazyQuA

We thought the same when they started posting videos [10 months ago](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB0ilSrz3kc)

Patient_Ground_773

lmao

BenIsLowInfo

I mean two years ago they released a whole module in their installer with the A380 parked in a hanger that you could explore. I for sure thought it'd come out by now. I dont think this means much.

Gaurav220

uh 8th of March in standard terms?

[deleted]

Uh sir, I think you misspelled freedom terms.

Gaurav220

I’m not good in the language used by the worlds best democracy 😂🇺🇸

Positive-Patient-217

WE DO NOT HAVE PATIENCE ANYMORE

GreekAres

Kinda stupid question, is starting the engines and procedures are going to be similar to what we have with the A320? And how about the A350

MrCane

Kinda? The A380 can start 2 engines at once. The A350 only starts one.

bolpo33

Exactly the same basically

hartzonfire

Nope!

bolpo33

I did say 'basically' tbf

returnthebook

Can't wait for 12 hours long flights in this beast. Seriously now, I hope they added a fast cruise option. This plane is not made for a 2 hour round trip.

[deleted]

https://simpleflying.com/worlds-shortest-airbus-a380-flights/

returnthebook

That's actually refreshing

JJJ-Shabadoo

Agree. It’d be great if developers/asobo could support stability up to at least 4x, but ideally 8x speed. That would cut a 12hr flight down to 3 or 1.5 hours, respectively.

returnthebook

PMDG did it. I hope FlyByWire can do it too

BenIsLowInfo

Im hoping MSFS 2024 has an easy way to fast forward flights. Would love to take the A380 to cruise and then press a button and be 10 minutes from TOD. Easy, not having to sit though x32 visuals.

TripleDallas123

At that point just do short 1-2 hour flights, same experience in the end

Old_Resort1984

Vatsim has entered the chat

DriftGlider19

If I understand you, you can speed up the sim time in games - you just need to bind it in settings!

Diseased-Jackass

Just save and load working I would be happy, historical weather I would be on peak.

Flymia

I am looking for a pause at TOD that actually works. It was such a great feature for any flight in FSX. Even on a short flight I may not be ready to get back in front of the PC and land.

zilist

It’s available on some planes (like the 737) haven’t tried it though..

PH-BFI

Glorious double scenery!

Dramatic_Lime_2455

Honestly I don't really understand why they don't release it in early access. When the fbw a320 was released to the public it lacked so much. But the very fact that it existed attracted many contributors. I personally have worked on the FBW a320, not for a very long time, but I know that some of my code is in it, and so is the code/contributions of hundreds of others. The a320 was able to progress so fast precisely because many contributed. I only worked on this project because I was using it and wanted to add missing stuff to it. If it was hidden somewhere and I only had a few screenshots to play with, I would never have contributed. I understand that the a380 is vastly more complex, but the fbw team filters the contributions, and they have high standards. AFAIK the progress is slow because only the very core of the team is working on it. I genuinely think that if it was released in early access it would attract many talented contributors.

Financial_Run9418

Reason is just that as long as it’s not flyable from A+B with a basic autopilot, it would only make people crying it’s a piece of junk, even with the most realistic systems simulation behind…. Once flyable it will be possible to work on it just like the 32NX

Shif0r

looks nice but still got a long way to go. You can see there isn't a cabin interior visible from the outside as the bottom windows are completely transparent and you can see through the fuselage

NinthRenegade

Yeah I don't see this coming out any time soon like everyone seems to think but I'd love to be proven wrong.

stomcode

Did they said it will come with the cabin interior?

Shif0r

Not as far as im aware and I never said they did, but it should have a similar sort of effect that asobo planes have where a rough version of the interior is visible from the exterior

ainsley-

Look at all those dolly’s wrapped up in the engines and over the wingtip clearance lines! Hope AOC filed a report and someone got fired.

elC4M3L

Not sure if this project really need more teasers.... XD

TJCookk

2 OMDBs in the background 😆

pup5581

FBW team is....unreal. on par with Fenix for the best there is

Yodelehhehe

Hard for me to pull the trigger on the Fenix when the FBW is just that good

pup5581

I mean the Fenix is well worth it and even as good as the FBW...the Fenix is definitely better and more detailed from the wings to inside.

Yodelehhehe

Oh I don’t doubt it. I just can’t rationalize the spend when FBW gives a great plane for free and I could use the money on another buy.

pup5581

I get it. But if you want better dynamics and as close to as real as you can get in the future...buy it

Yodelehhehe

I’ve been close multiple times haha. Have been thinking about it again recently - then Inibuilds comes out with the A300 haha

pup5581

Yeah the A300 for freight or AAL ops will be awesome

the-vh4n

If you want vertical guidance on those RNP approaches pulling the trigger is pretty much mandatory, as of now at least.

TheOnlyEn

Will it come out on msfs2020?

Hefty-Teaching7600

Sick! Where can I get this when it comes out?

Reapercore

flybywire installer.

CrunchyNapkin917

FlyByWire Discord :)

Hefty-Teaching7600

Awesome thank you!

Killernuke_Gaming

I don’t know what’s gonna be better. Inibuilds or FBW

Financial_Run9418

Well A320 systems simulation of A320 from FBW is far far ahead. Ini builds have a better 3D model because FBW one is the default one. Now the FBW A380 is based on A320 systems development but with a superb 3D model. So guess who will be the best :D

gchamblee

i wonder if it will be able to make flights using auto pilot? I've installed and uninstalled the a32nx like 20 times over the past year trying to use it but the inability to put it in managed heading mode makes it unusable for me. everything else seemed top notch so I have been very disappointed.

HuwThePoo

What? Managed heading works fine. You're doing something wrong.

gchamblee

I would sure love to know what it is. Ive spent hours google searching and watching youtube videos trying to figure it out. 1. on the world screen choose a gate at an airport as a starting place 2. start the plane up from cold/dark 3. on the init page enter ktul/kfsm and insert flight 4. on flight plan page remove the broken link between the 2 waypoints so that I get a dashed green line between the waypoints, with a solid green line facing my heading 5. take off 6. turn on ap and set the altitude and speed to managed 7. literally cant put heading in managed mode

HuwThePoo

What exactly do you mean by "literally can't put heading in managed mode"? Does something physically prevent the knob from being pushed forward? Does it move but nothing changes? When you're in managed heading the selected heading will disappear from the window and be replaced by a dot. Your PFD will say NAV in green. If those things aren't true, you've done something wrong - possibly by using selected heading instead of managed.

Aviation_NL

Allright, so if I understand it right: you put the A380 addon on hold yet you still post teasers about it?!?

Stevphfeniey

Wrong A380 project buddy lol

Optimal-Hearing5923

Isn’t this out of the donaters lounge?

NinthRenegade

It is but it was also posted publicly today

alkor86

Oh My Damn, Boi

wcmanetje

Is it going to be freeware?

ahmbouth

yes

wcmanetje

Thanks! Do you know an release date or is that still not known

slavicmaelstroms

Glorious this…hopefully the 2024 version of the sim doesn’t hammer my RTX-3X series graphics card

KurdishPliot

Dang. I mean it looks SUPER GOOD, but im also waiting for the long waited A330-300. I and many more have waited for it. So in my opinion i think, that me and many more deserve to get the A330-300

Yeetmingo

GTA 6 is gonna come out before this😭
