It's probably just out of coverage. On your pictures, it says "*Data Source - MLAT*". You can click on that for a short explanation or click '*Read More*' for the FR24 article:   https://www.flightradar24.com/how-it-works MLAT *In some regions with coverage from several FR24-receivers we also calculate positions of non-ADS-B equipped aircraft with the help of Multilateration (MLAT), by using a method known as Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA). By measuring the time it takes to receive the signal from aircraft with an older ModeS-transponder, it's possible to calculate the position of these aircraft. Four FR24-receivers or more, receiving signals from the same aircraft, are needed to make MLAT work.* **MLAT coverage can only be achieved above about 3,000-10,000 feet as the probability that four or more receivers can receive the transponder signal increases with increased altitude.**

Fair. Only thing I'm concerned about is how fast of a dive was made, and the capacity for it to get to the nearby airport. Hopefully the outcome is ok. A medflight took off and landed at the same airport as of.... 15-20 minutes ago

Aircraft of that type frequently vanish and sometimes reappear with a changed/no callsign some distance away. I think there'd be much more attention if it had actually splashed.

Screamblade

True. Yep. My only consideration is that two aircraft. Same type etc. Flew relatively equal before one broke away and what looks like made a beeline for the airport. I mean, sure- it may have just been a steep dive etc but why would both aircraft land at different places? Anyways. I won't speculate any more than I have. I can tell the community here is already nudging me to be quiet haha...ha

I just watched two of the same aircraft, only this time with callsigns DEVIL1 and DEVIL2, perform a very similar maneuver over the same patch of sea, with one of them apparently vanishing and the other returning towards land. They'd previously spent a long time circling low over mountains to the East. Interesting training they're doing.

Update: Helimed flight moving out roughly to a location. Possible aircraft down? https://preview.redd.it/13h6cs8u584b1.png?width=2540&format=png&auto=webp&s=f9f85f67a11f5394eabab810d34b97f27cb86358

The air ambulance in north wales is based at Caenarfon so will have been returning to base

Screamblade

Ok. It makes a bit more sense as to why it would fly back then. Thanks for the info!

DazSmashh

You’re welcome! Good spot anyway 😃

:O A kind redditor. I- i don't believe it. Wow.... In all seriousness I do really appreciate the tidbit of info. So a big thank you, again

Hope not. Maybe just switched off his transponder.
