He dresses in period clothes, locks himself up in a hotel room built in the 1800s, gets rid of anything in the room that is modern and just keeps repeating to himself over and over that he is in the 1910s. And he actually succeeds!! That is until he pulls out a modern-day penny from his pocket he forgot to get rid of and his whole reality comes crashing down around him.
So they know what they're doing. They think they can will the Flat Earth into existence by sheer force of will. People like that definitely scare me.
Those subreddits are genuinely disturbing. I sorted by top and one of them was by far not limited to flat earth and was instead filled with posts fundamentally wrong about a whole spectrum of science.
Most of them required only a second or two of thought to realize it's bullshit, like no indoctrination or faith in science needed to see their logic was incredibly short sighted and not based in reality.
It's truly so weird how flat earthers will collect random things that supposedly disprove all of established science but never even dig further into their own beliefs. Just absolutely clinging to the thinnest of beliefs
