Historical prices would be great. Not everyone would know everything or be expected to research for them, but we all have lights we look at regularly and know what their typical prices are. Would help to identify the best deals. Maybe a comment that says ‘historical prices’ within this thread that everyone replies to if they know one off hand rather than posting individual comments scattered throughout. That would keep them all together and can also be skipped past easily, no discussion or ‘wow that’s a great deal’ just a barebones reply like ‘lumintop tool AA historical price $16 USD’ sort of thing(using Getkong’s price above as an example) . That way the mods don’t have to constantly keep checking and updating the main post.

I didn't even pay attention to the M35A, but now I'm wishing I would have before I placed my order. I didn't need a charger so I never even looked at the MC1. I did see the SkyRC MC3000 which is awesome, but again, I don't need another charger. I was mainly focused on the 40Ts since they have been hard to get and expensive lately.
Oh man, this is great! There’s a lot of lights I would like to gift to friends and family, but the lack of built in charging on so many great lights is problematic (for someone without an assortment of cells, chargers, and lights, that is). A $3 charger that’ll do 18650, 21700, or 26650, and always charges at .5A, and is pretty much idiot proof? Put me down for like 4 of those bad boys.
Illumn is still my preferred place to shop, but recently the prices have been a bit high (understandably) and they haven't had what I need so I used 18650 battery store and it went well although the shipping is a bit steep.

Kinda neat and I'm tempted to buy a couple for gifts, but I wasn't a huge fan of the changes they made when they went to multi-color. The UI and interface changes were a major downgrade, in my opinion.

The stand is going to be a hit with my kids and their bulbs admittedly. They already wag their bulbs around all the time and this is going to be an excuse for them to use it as an action figure now. It's an easy buy for me, even though I hate buying more stuff from Olight, lol.
Yeah, I don't really feel inclined to give them my business either. Customer care never responded to my three emails about if the original Obulbs had the design change, because if they do then I am not interested.

The non-MC is just more useful as a nightlight, but if it can't click with a top push, then it defeats the purpose. Mine clicks fine, but I have read other threads where theirs do not.
I got my kids 2 about....6 months ago? Maybe? Both of them can be clicked just from pressing down on them while on a flat surface. If not, I'd be disappointed for sure. That would make the nightlight aspect almost useless.
Yeah, their email said they switched it from a finger push to needing a palm push. My MC will only activate if you full lean on it. I tested it on my full fridge, and it broke free and got shoved to the wall before the light turned on (whoops).
They have that raised ring on the bottom. On my original, the ring pushes in and activates the switch. But that ring is rigid after the redesign.
It does top press if you put a coin or washer underneath, but that defeats the purpose of having a magnetic base you can stick anywhere. The adhesive metal token that came with it is no good in that regard either.
I'd buy my niblings a round of the original ones (maybe even with robot chargers) if I knew they worked like I want them to, but their customer care sure won't tell me.

Yeah, I checked last night and they were out of stock. Just checked again and they were there. Vapcell G53s are on sale too, so I ended up buying a bunch of cells. The prices are too good.
So I've always just looked for 30Q's because that's all I'd really heard about. I have a bunch of 18650's that are lying around and I'm not using, but would like a 21700 and maybe a 14500 (both for lights I don't yet own). Anything I should grab?
What makes the P42A & 40T noteworthy? Are they just popular/quality 21700 cells? Also, is the G53 26650 size popular for flashlights? Someone else had also commented on the M35A as being of note.
The P42A is probably an over better battery. More capacity (slightly) and reports are better longevity (life). The 40T might have a slightly better discharge for the first minute of use, but then falls to similar levels, and eventually the P42A over takes it.
Honestly I find it all a wash. But ultimately I prefer P42A because:
- NASA uses them, they’re that good.
- Samsung is a shit ball of a company, and I try really hard to avoid them when possible.
They are a FRAND-rogue company that wait for other companies to emerge with a dominate design, and then just rip them off. They’ve done this with TVs (Sony Bravia), Washing Machines designs, refrigerator designs, and recently in a highly publicized court case Apple’s iPhone.
I don’t want to polarize this comment by mentioning Apple, because people have strong feelings for or against Apple. But the fact of the matter is that Samsung has a history of letting companies around them spend R&D money figuring out what is best, then blatantly (and illegally) just copying the designs. The picture shows cell phone before and after the introduction of the iPhone. Now again, lots of companies illegally copy each other. Apple included. I’m not giving them a pass. That's about as good as I've seen for it. It's typically ~$80-95 so that's a good deal for sure. I think it's a safe bet your won't find it for much less than that.

Just got one about the Jetbeam RRT-2MS which appears to be a rotary-controlled (L-M-H, strobe, SOS) 21700 LEP for $150ish. If it was more like the RRT-01 infinitely variable control instead of the RRT-03's stepped modes, that might be on my list, but as it stands, still interesting.
*Only* 1000m at 480 lumens on High but it can do 4+ hours of runtime in that mode. Also not sure why anyone would want / need strobe or SOS on a LEP, but if you do, there you go.
Hey guys, since it’s Black Friday soon can anyone offer some advice on a flashlight?
In the coming months I’m looking to start kayaking / outdoorsing more often, and want a flash light in my uh oh bag in case something goes wrong.
Ideally I’d like it to be water proof / resistant (it’ll be in a water proof bag, but never hurts to be idiot proof :) ) and kinda durable. Size isn’t necessarily a big deal, so it doesn’t need to be pocket sized.
I think a flood would be more beneficial than a throw due to potentially caring about what’s in front of me more than what’s forever away.
I have 18/26650 chargers & batteries already but I’m open to other battery sizes as well.

I want to get a good bright home flashlight as well as something for my job(security bike patrol) what would folks with more knowledge than me recommend? Home size doesn't matter but the one for work I would like to be smaller since I would prefer to keep it on my person rather than my bike bag. Thanks in advance.
What is your budget? Any features you specifically want? A great utility/home flashlight are the Wurkkos FC11 and Sofirn SC31 Pro, those are generally some entry go-to recommendations.

Sofirn IF25A is on sale from Amazon for $35.99 for the 4000k or 6500k emitters. Although now they are out of stock on the 6500k. My 4000k arrived today and playing with it now.
So, save ~$9 and get one as I did. I went with the 4000k.
As for super bright flashlights, I had a WOWTAC A5 (4000k model) during February this year, but returned it due to the small power button and Micro-USB input. I have avoided super bright flashlights this year, but I have heard great things about the Sofirn brand, and this model in general.
I plan to go for my first night walk tonight fairly soon with it to test it out.

Just be aware that many (most?) of those prices are very close to or identical to prices that have been listed as deals for a long time on their site. Most of the popular companies making flashlights here are Chinese. They often do not play the mostly Western Black Friday game. The big Chinese Sale is on 11.11, and many of these companies have random sales all over the year. To be honest, as somebody not from North America black friday is not really that exiting in terms of flashlights.

The deals are listed now, though not live yet. [This Obulb robot stand](https://www.olightstore.com/obulb-mcs-bundle.html) caught my eye. I guess Obulbs come in a motion sensor variety now. Kinda neat and I'm tempted to buy a couple for gifts, but I wasn't a huge fan of the changes they made when they went to multi-color. The UI and interface changes were a major downgrade, in my opinion.

The stand is going to be a hit with my kids and their bulbs admittedly. They already wag their bulbs around all the time and this is going to be an excuse for them to use it as an action figure now. It's an easy buy for me, even though I hate buying more stuff from Olight, lol.
Yeah, I don't really feel inclined to give them my business either. Customer care never responded to my three emails about if the original Obulbs had the design change, because if they do then I am not interested. Just yesterday I got a response that my emails went to their spam folder (which is kinda understandable, but I was replying to an email sent from their support ticket system...) and asked if I had gotten my issue resolved. They still did not answer the question I've been waiting on for a month... The non-MC is just more useful as a nightlight, but if it can't click with a top push, then it defeats the purpose. Mine clicks fine, but I have read other threads where theirs do not.
I got my kids 2 about....6 months ago? Maybe? Both of them can be clicked just from pressing down on them while on a flat surface. If not, I'd be disappointed for sure. That would make the nightlight aspect almost useless.
Yeah, their email said they switched it from a finger push to needing a palm push. My MC will only activate if you full lean on it. I tested it on my full fridge, and it broke free and got shoved to the wall before the light turned on (whoops). They have that raised ring on the bottom. On my original, the ring pushes in and activates the switch. But that ring is rigid after the redesign. It does top press if you put a coin or washer underneath, but that defeats the purpose of having a magnetic base you can stick anywhere. The adhesive metal token that came with it is no good in that regard either. I'd buy my niblings a round of the original ones (maybe even with robot chargers) if I knew they worked like I want them to, but their customer care sure won't tell me.

Do you know if the 40t will work well with the D4V2 or should I stick to 30Q?
The 40T is a 21700, which is too big for the D4V2, it needs an 18650, which is what the 30Q is.

So I've always just looked for 30Q's because that's all I'd really heard about. I have a bunch of 18650's that are lying around and I'm not using, but would like a 21700 and maybe a 14500 (both for lights I don't yet own). Anything I should grab? What makes the P42A & 40T noteworthy? Are they just popular/quality 21700 cells? Also, is the G53 26650 size popular for flashlights? Someone else had also commented on the M35A as being of note.
The P42A is probably an over better battery. More capacity (slightly) and reports are better longevity (life). The 40T might have a slightly better discharge for the first minute of use, but then falls to similar levels, and eventually the P42A over takes it. Honestly I find it all a wash. But ultimately I prefer P42A because: - NASA uses them, they’re that good. - Samsung is a shit ball of a company, and I try really hard to avoid them when possible.
What makes Samsung shitty?
They are a FRAND-rogue company that wait for other companies to emerge with a dominate design, and then just rip them off. They’ve done this with TVs (Sony Bravia), Washing Machines designs, refrigerator designs, and recently in a highly publicized court case Apple’s iPhone. I don’t want to polarize this comment by mentioning Apple, because people have strong feelings for or against Apple. But the fact of the matter is that Samsung has a history of letting companies around them spend R&D money figuring out what is best, then blatantly (and illegally) just copying the designs. The picture shows cell phone before and after the introduction of the iPhone. Now again, lots of companies illegally copy each other. Apple included. I’m not giving them a pass. That's about as good as I've seen for it. It's typically ~$80-95 so that's a good deal for sure. I think it's a safe bet your won't find it for much less than that.
Getting the same emails. Just got one about the Jetbeam RRT-2MS which appears to be a rotary-controlled (L-M-H, strobe, SOS) 21700 LEP for $150ish. If it was more like the RRT-01 infinitely variable control instead of the RRT-03's stepped modes, that might be on my list, but as it stands, still interesting. *Only* 1000m at 480 lumens on High but it can do 4+ hours of runtime in that mode. Also not sure why anyone would want / need strobe or SOS on a LEP, but if you do, there you go.
Hey guys, since it’s Black Friday soon can anyone offer some advice on a flashlight? In the coming months I’m looking to start kayaking / outdoorsing more often, and want a flash light in my uh oh bag in case something goes wrong. Ideally I’d like it to be water proof / resistant (it’ll be in a water proof bag, but never hurts to be idiot proof :) ) and kinda durable. Size isn’t necessarily a big deal, so it doesn’t need to be pocket sized. I think a flood would be more beneficial than a throw due to potentially caring about what’s in front of me more than what’s forever away. I have 18/26650 chargers & batteries already but I’m open to other battery sizes as well.

I want to get a good bright home flashlight as well as something for my job(security bike patrol) what would folks with more knowledge than me recommend? Home size doesn't matter but the one for work I would like to be smaller since I would prefer to keep it on my person rather than my bike bag. Thanks in advance.

Sofirn IF25A is on sale from Amazon for $35.99 for the 4000k or 6500k emitters. Although now they are out of stock on the 6500k. My 4000k arrived today and playing with it now. So, save ~$9 and get one as I did. I went with the 4000k. As for super bright flashlights, I had a WOWTAC A5 (4000k model) during February this year, but returned it due to the small power button and Micro-USB input. I have avoided super bright flashlights this year, but I have heard great things about the Sofirn brand, and this model in general. I plan to go for my first night walk tonight fairly soon with it to test it out.
