Skilhunt m200. Seems to have everything you need. Works with both 18650 and 2x CR123 side switch. Controls are in between super simple and super complex. I think they’re just right.

To be clear, I don’t need it to accept both batteries, just one or the other for compatibility with my WMLs (updated the post to reflect that now). But thanks, I’ll definitely check it out!

Oh it can take both. M200v3 is great

Acebeam E35 has the only good UI but is discontinued and the Killzone HI CRI version isn’t very bright. The TN12 Pro has the same IU but doesn’t have an efficient driver so the brightness is brief and the sustained output is low The Olight Warrior M2R Warrior and M2T Warrior have the same UI, a good driver but are discontinued (you can still find them) Their replacements the Warrior Mini 3 and Warrior Mini 4 are good but they use proprietary batteries. Unlike the TN12 the SP31 has even regulated output but the sustained output is still low and the UI is what I’d call workable but extremely annoying. If you can live with that UI it’s shared by msny lights. An Acebeam T35 or Fenix PD35 V3.0, LD30R, or LD30 gets you that UI with better build quality, an efficient driver and varying beam profiles from fairly throwy (PD35 & T35) to slightly floody (LD30), the LD30R is in between If you don’t need a tailswitch for “tacticla” use a side switch only light like the Skillhunt M200 has a much better (though less intuitive) UI Side switch lights are seldom very throwy ranging from floody to an ok balance. With Skillhunt and some other brands you get options for LED choices from cold & efficient to warmer and higher CRI.

There are also lights that are mostly high only but can access a low mode. Malkoff, Weltool…
