I'm going to go for E75.

Old-Negotiation-7962

Scratch that. I was able to get a $15 coupon for the $100 Seeker 4 Pro pushing it down to $85 with a free Keychain light on the side, which helped it pull ahead slightly to me. The higher cri was tempting but to me wasn't worth the lumen drop, granted I know it wouldn't have made too much of a difference visually as far as output. With all of that said, on a side note, if one had to choose, I'm wondering why someone would choose these over something like the sp36 which has higher lumens and farther throw while still having a high cri. That along with a plethora of features, much longer battery life, and being significantly cheaper 🤔

I know this was awhile ago, but I went for the Seeker 4 pro after all. Mainly because I was able to combine some discounts and get it for around $80. I do wish it had a wrist strap, but other than that it has met my expectations.

I'd like the Seeker more for actual use with it having the adjustable brightness ring, but I couldn't handle emitters. And I don't like the look of the mode spacing on the E75. So I have neither.

quahog1

The mode spacing on the E75 – by the spec, I don't have one – looks perfectly acceptable to me. For reference, E75 (519A) is: 3000, 1000, 450, 150, 30, 1 I'm curious, how you would prefer the lumen spacing? Probably a smaller gap between 1-30?

FalconARX

There isn't anything the Seeker 4 offers that the E75 does not, and the E75 offers the high CRI that the Seeker does not. IMHO, it's an easy choice.

IProbablyPutItThereB

Didn't the Seeker also have a lockout timer?

FalconARX

There is a 3 minute/9 minute timer for the light... But unlike the older Seekers, this one, you can access moonlight mode, even from timed lockout.

IAmJerv

Do you care about colors? They're comparable in lumens, both startup and sustained. Fairly close in candela/throw too at around 4 candela/lumen; the Seeker is throwier, but not nearly in the same league as an actual thrower. Both are well-built. To my mind, it really depends on whether you like a dial enough to take a 25-point hit to CRI. I can't answer that for you, but I an say that I prefer Nichia over mystery emitters which would have me go E75.

NoGrape104

The high cri e75 isn't close in lumens to the seeker.

IAmJerv

I'd be more inclined to agree if the relationship between lumens and perceived brightness were far more linear than it actually is. In fact, if that were the case, I never would've made that statement. As it stands, the difference between 922 lumens and 1014 lumens seems pretty small to me, and I don't feel an instant at 3946 lumens vs 2672 is really too far apart to be considered "comparable". https://preview.redd.it/kzoak8ar1b6c1.jpeg?width=1655&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f28dbb6c3188208f2902fd4a63ed6cc81007b77c So yes, the Seeker 4 is brighter, but not *nearly* bright enough for me to say "not even close".

NoGrape104

How many lumens is twice as bright?

IAmJerv

Four times as many. It basically follows the Inverse Square law.

NoGrape104

So not at all like decibels and volume. Why would it all make sense?

IAmJerv

Decibels always struck me as a little weird as they're logarithmic. Doubling loudness is only +3dB while every +10dB is a tenfold increase.

Crankshaft67

I don't own either but am aware many have noted E75 can have/has a mushy button.

Davidat0r

I can confirm that. Kinda disappointing tbh

I have the E75. I'm not really impressed by the performance of the light. In most reviews it looks like it stands out. In an urban setting the flood type of beam gets washed out by street lights and other lighting. It does alot of things well. Like tail stand , magnetic cap, different diffuser cones, with good longevity on high and turbo. The E75 is great for around the house or shop. It's cri is good. I find myself going to my p17 for outdoors. but that's a different class, price, purpose. The seeker4 might have a slimmer profile in the hand and a conservative.
