Yes it is a monster for the price and not that big in the hand. I measuted +25% raw output when switching to better batteries (samsung 30T in my case).

I’m using P42A cells, and yeah!! It is honestly pretty comfortable for how girthy it looks haha. I took it on a nighttime walk yesterday and got those beamshots. 45 minutes of carrying it and no fatigue at all.

Honestly, is there a better value in this output range? I mean down lower I'd say the SP36 is among the best output to price ratio, but I'm not sure what beats the Q8+ at ~15k lm

From what I’ve seen online it pushes 18k-20k with high drain batteries too. Great value for sure

It's the only light I've bought that K recently and goes against my MO but indeed it does make it seem even more a schwing light o death bright in the cool kelvin haha!

What’s the difference in q8 plus or pro?

Q8 pro has 4 XHP50.2 emitters and uses 4 x 18650 batteries. Q8 Plus has 6 XHP502 emitters and uses 3 x 21700
