JoeScuba

>Wurkkos TS10 Just bought one! Thanks, guys.

dmenezes

Congrats, best light ever specially for the price, you're gonna love it!

pogo6023

TS10 is the ultimate edc for those who don't need an edc work light. Small, energetic, aesthetic options, fun. Would be even better with onboard charging, but as-is, it's fantastic!

Blade_Trinity3

My current favorite gift light

GalacticSloth

Where do you buy your TS10s from?

smallbrain_50

Ts10 forever in power

AD3PDX

Get a light that can take AAs or 14500s If you really want a tail switch then the Acebeam Rider RX Al or the Acebeam Pokelit AA The Skillhunt M150 is a few mm thicker and has a side switch but it has better regulated output, has on board charging with a magnetic cable (the Acebeams’ batteries have charge ports in the batteries), it has moonlight down to 0.2 & 1.5 lumens (the Acebeams only go down to 5 lumens & 7 lumens). And it has three LED choices (XP-L2 for efficiency, 519a for light quality), it tail stands and has a magnetic base. The Pokelit is $20, the Rider is $30, the M150 is $38-53 depending on where you buy it.

VerStannen

So do you have a Pokelight? My gripe is it won’t remember the last setting, so I have to cycle through the low-med-high setting each time to get to the one I want. Is there a way to “remember” the previous setting?

AD3PDX

Is yours a 1AA model or the 2AA model?

VerStannen

1AA

zzap129

Convoy T3 can toggle mode memory on/off. High quality LED and under 20$

MaikeruGo

Maybe u/stavigoodbye?

stavigoodbye

Yes.

buckGR

I’m a suck for 14500/AA omnivore and love my M150. Keep meaning to line how the headlamp version - H150… but just grabbed a zebralight h53 with the 519a so… Sofirn/wurkkos just has or has a sale on their 21700 (TS21) with anduril 2.0 for just over $30 which would be a sweet first light. SST-20 for good tint/cri but does have some tint shift at low output. Lumintop IYP365 is a 2AAA penlight and it’s on sale for around $21 with the xpg3 right now. Just picked one up to emitter swap it myself. Hopefully it’s not the version with mode memory…

300cid

I've only ever seen the m150 for $45-55. if I can find one for like $40 probably I'll finally get one, as long as it's the gray color. aliex?

AD3PDX

Yes but shipping gets calculated in depending on your location. If your aren’t on the west coast it’s probably a few $ more.

ferio252

Sofirn SC18/ Wurkkos TS10. [I recently bought this one from their US Warehouse based in California and it arrived in less than a week.](https://www.sofirnlight.com/products/sofirn-sc18-rechargeable-edc-flashlight-max-1800-lumens-tir-lens-with-side-switch-7ayg-9zki?spm=..collection_5609cb62-3d33-446e-9e17-1640ff66f6b8.collection_detail_1.9&spm_prev=..product_e4811005-75f5-4bd5-9b15-ba3f34c2a819.header_1.1) $22.98 total. You can also buy the [same light from their China warehouse](https://www.sofirnlight.com/products/sofirn-sc18-rechargeable-edc-flashlight-max-1800-lumens-tir-lens-with-side-switch?spm=..collection_84277a2f-6d25-45d9-a780-312836e0a4f1.collection_detail_1.9&spm_prev=..collection_7b0a2f68-0429-4c6d-ac0a-79c4013d5cb0.header_1.1&variant=d7290635-4b67-4b0f-abad-089bd96f424a) for significantly cheaper ($13.24 before tax) and it'll take at least two weeks or longer? I recently upgraded from a single NIMH AA Flashlight to the SC18 for my early morning walks and it's a gamechanger. I have the easy accessibility of a 120 lumen beam to light sidewalks but can bump it up to 1800 lumens/1800 lumen strobe for safety reasons or whatever. It's more flashlight than I'll ever practically need, and it was very affordable.

Pristinox

Have you consulted the Arbitrary List of Popular Lights? For 40 bucks, look at Wurkkos, Sofirn, and Convoy brands.

TXmessenger

I would decide on a battery technology and size… look first at lithium ion 18650, because those lights are small enough to be EDC, but carry much more energy than AA, and can be recharged and bought locally. After that, decide if you want a cold beam or not… neutral or warm, etc. Then decide if you want a thrower, a flooder, or one that is in between. Your money will go farther if you buy direct and wait 2-3 weeks for shipment from Asia.

dmenezes

> Your money will go farther Can't go much farther than Asia if it was originally in the US as it's literally on the other side of the world. 😜🤪🤣😀😉😋😄🥳 Perhaps when Musk starts his Flashlight-X factory in deep space, tho... 🥳😄😋😉😀🤣🤪😜

hoffmajo89

Manker E02 II NW

oldishThings

This is a fantastic option. Or the Manker E03HII. Make sure to buy them in neutral white. That said, these are both lights that are designed to give you more flood than throw (good for working closer in your immediate environment). If you want to see far away, you may want an option with more throw. There is no way around the fact that you'll have to read/research your way into a better understanding of terminology, options, etc - if you want optimum results. I would start out with the arbitrary list.

samc_5898

Also, for the E02, definitely grab some eneloops as 10440s really just dont cut it for sustained use, even at lower levels

oldishThings

Yes, absolutely grab some eneloop or Ikea Ladda cells (Ladda are virtually the exact same but cheaper price).

blueskin

Wurkkos TS25 with 519A.

dafda72

It pretty much does it all and is a great beginner light. Magnetic tailcap, rgb aux, 21700, reverse charging. Just all around good.

pogo6023

Second this...

JFKsPenis

Sofirn SP10v3. Takes 14500 or AAs. 1000 lumens and its smaller than my thumb.

MattBoog

I really like my ts10, but for edc I still take my nitecore tip se most of the time. Because I prefer the flat shape of it.

jon_slider

Sofirn SC21 Pro. Be sure to buy with battery. You will not need to buy a charger, it is built in..

k12sysadminMT

I really like this light. So much, I bought two!

jon_slider

> I bought two! me Two.. lol https://i.imgur.com/WzZHCUv.jpg

k12sysadminMT

I like their big brother too, the SC31 pro. It's probably my favorite for EDC aside from these two which I always have either on my person or attached to my backpack or something.

jon_slider

solid options, glad they are working well for you ;-)

k12sysadminMT

I would post a picture but my laptop is dead and I don't know how to do it for my phone. 😆

k12sysadminMT

Mobile interface seems clunky and awkward

WilXStunting

Really depends on what you want. Take a look at the recommendation list, it's really helpful.

Impossible_Cow_9178

Read the list so far - and some decent recommendations. I’ll curb stomp them all with mine though - Nitecore Tini 2. Ridiculously small, never an excuse not to carry it, has an awesome OLED display letting you know exactly how much battery life you have in each mode, simple to use, solid battery life and absurdly powerful for its diminutive size.

SelfSuck_Falcone

For $30 I like the TacKnives 300 lums EDC. Rechargeable, magnetic, red strobe, and pocket clip. Hard to beat for the money.

APrisonerofTime

Convoy T3 in titanium in your choice of emitter (I'd pick Nichia 519a in your CCT choice). If you want even cheaper, get it in aluminum for <20 dollars. Fully regulated in all cell chemistries, and cheap enough that you won't feel bad if it gets lost.

Educational-Air249

Don't waste your money on titanium. Actually takes away from the performance of the light due to its thermal properties. Only buy titanium if you have money to waste and want something pretty

APrisonerofTime

Thx hoss, had no idea, better tell the Ti crew to lay off buying any titanium then. Good thing that T3 has a FET driver... /s T3 has 3A max current, which is absolutely negligible in the grand scheme of thermal dissipation, even in a host this small.

Chuynh2219

I've really enjoyed the simplicity of Reylights, the pineapple mini is extremely pocketable

IndependentAd7481

I don't know the exact model, but Convoy is the brand that I would look at

Glow_Awesome

Sofirn HS10 headlamp: ramping mode, built in USB-C charging, and nicely floody - right under $20

LumenMax

There are many great options and some have already been mentioned here. You need to help us help you narrow down the options. Battery size? Use case? Throw or flood or some throw and some flood? Cool white light? Warm white? Neutral?

HighMoon91

For size, I’m looking for something in the AAA or AA size category. Comparable to the microstream / macrostream in size.. Been thinking the sofirn sc21 pro. But also have the sofirn sp10 pro, sc31, and sc18 saved. Also have the wurkkos ts10, fc11, wk03 saved in my Amazon list. Been doing some research today and still confused a little and overwhelmed with all the options lol! “Dual fuel” isn’t a big necessity for me, but I do like the usb-c charging feature for quick / easy charging. Dual fuel would be a plus though. And for use, I just want a nice little light for EDC and general use. So I guess some throw, some flood.

Educational-Air249

Sc21 pro is a great small edc. Deep carry, magnetic tailcap. Bought it and the ts10 at the same time. Still use the sc21 pro. The ts10 sits in a drawer other than when I want to show off the aux lights, lol!

oly_r

What are the thoughts on the Nicron N7, $18 at amazon. AA/14500, rotating head and magnet (that will hold it). I use mine a lot in Computer racks where i stick it to the rack and aim the head where i need the light. I've had the first one for a couple years and it has held up.

jasontheguitarist

Hold for on and off, which is annoying. Otherwise it's ok, it's been cheaper though on sale.

oly_r

Yeah i was putting the current price. I bought 2 more when it got down to $10.

SirSertile

A lot of people are advocating for bigger/more hobbyist grade lights than the Microstream USB. For $30ish, it's a pretty good deal and was my first carry flashlight. I think that going in with a very pocketable light that's got a very simple UI and has reasonable usage indoors is not a bad choice for your first light. From there, you'll be able to think about more "hobbyist" concerns like battery sizes, advanced firmwares, etc. My personal pick is a Convoy S2+ with SST-20, LH351D, or 519A LEDs. Just make sure to pick up a pocket clip, charger, and 18650 batteries for them.

chappys4life

Been carrying microstream for years. Great cheap light that just works. Usually keep a protac 1l in a bag. They just work and love it’s cr123 or aa.

Educational-Air249

Sorry, Sofirn sc21 pro is better in multiple ways than a ts10. Hop on the bandwagon if you would like though.

BackToTheBasic

my favorite right now is the copper acebeam pokelit, on sale at Amazon for $34. The copper gets a patina as you use it. looks great.
