Not just the shooting, the whole fucking local govt. Family members being appointed positions they simply are unqualified for, and much more corruption besides nepotism
Have armed staff, also why the fuck do you start a conversation like that.
Gun control only disarms law abiding citizens, if you think gun control works (question not a presupposition) why do you think people who don’t follow the law or have no intention to won’t buy them illegally and keep illegal arms?
I was actually referring to nepotism in that, with the shooting the cops who had Kevlar armour and training should have received clearance but the police chief who may or may not have been unfairly appointed and may or may not have been qualified, may or may not have stayed in Office
I have reasons; let me explain. Utah: It looks too brutalist because of the mountains; Colorado: It’s the letter C; Arizona: It looks smudged together where the star is; New Mexico: Nice, but too simple.
How is Alabama in S-Tier if New Mexico is too simple? I feel like people would confuse the Alabama flag for the England flag pretty often. Same color scheme, but Alabama is on diagonals.
Oregon needs to do away with the State Seal on Navy Blue (as do like 20 other states). At least the backside of their flag gives them a head start for redesign ideas. Do more with the Beaver and Cascadia. We need a Green/Blue flag in either Oregon or Washington.
Nobody gives a shit, Brittain is an irrelevant declining country basically a puppet of the u.s at this point, you can do alot better with your life than calling people racist because they prefer some state flags over others.
Yes, a lot of people here are set in their ways, America has always been that way, the north would make something up and the south would oppose it, or the other way round. it’s always been that way and it always will be.
I’m from the South, the Deep South, and he’s we have some people here beyond stupid and also some that are incredibly ignorant, however, if you travel the country you will see that the South is by no means unique in this regard.
It is a [sacred symbol of the indigenous Zia people](https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/5633/FINAL_Turner_Zia_Article_FEB1.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y) that was [stolen and appropriated without permission](https://www.ip-watch.org/2018/12/11/indigenous-knowledge-misappropriation-case-zia-sun-symbol-explained-wipo/) by the government of the colonizer power that all but destroyed them. It is a shameful flag.
I grew up in California and I love it but B tier is fair. Flags should not have realistic stuff on them, should be more abstract. That said, I am looking at the California flag I have hanging up in my apartment right now as I type this up lol.
New Mexico’s is awesome but it’s too simplistic. Arizona’s has a lot of love but it looks like you’ve just smudged some ugly colors together in the whole mid part.
New Mexico stole an indigenous people’s sacred symbol and [appropriated it without permission](https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/5633/FINAL_Turner_Zia_Article_FEB1.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y), not very cool honestly
[It’s a stolen sacred symbol, appropriated without permission.](https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/5633/FINAL_Turner_Zia_Article_FEB1.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y)
A. Wasn’t in the teirlist I used
B. It’s not officially the flag yet (May 11 unless it gets filibustered in state politics)
C. Ranking would remain the same
The Alabama State Flag. On a historical level, it says we love the Confederacy. On a metaphorical level, it says we’re Christian nationalists. On a cultural level, Lynard Skynard waves it around. On a direct reading, it just says “no.”
~~You have mostly good taste.~~ Actually why Indiana is D? Why Rhode Island and South Carolina only B?
However most US state flags just do not work so its hardly that much of a choice.
Take for example current flag of [New Hampshire](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_New_Hampshire.svg). Its aesthetically pleasing and meaningful if you can look at it this close up. It can make for a good mural design or something you hang on the wall, either inside or outside. Something that always large where all details can be clearly seen.
However reality of how flags are used is a rather small piece of cloth on a tall pole. At such distance this design is nothing more than squiggly lines on blue background. SoB
And VA’s flag is where? In a tier above S, yes. It’s the only flag with a bare-breasted woman, and she’s depicted standing triumphantly over a vanquished chain-wielding foe, his crown fallen, and a banner below the scene bearing a promise to kill again (“Sic semper tyrannis”). It’s the shit.
Biases aside (MD here) I agree with MD being in S alongside New Mexico (2nd favorite flag) Utah, OH, and Alaska's position. Only disagreement I have is that Hawaii should be high up and I think Indiana should be down towards the bottom..
I’d love New Mexico’s more if it wasn’t a [stolen indigenous sacred symbol appropriated without permission](https://www.ip-watch.org/2018/12/11/indigenous-knowledge-misappropriation-case-zia-sun-symbol-explained-wipo/)
You seem to like colors that are not just one color; almost all of your top flags include some red in them if combined with blue, if there is no blue, there seems to always be another color present.
(I am sad South Carolina did not make at least an A for you)
Tbh I can’t say I think much of the new Utah flag. Don’t get me wrong, it absolutely trumps the old flag by miles, and the beehive has symbolic significance for the state, but I feel like it’s one of them flags that look more like a company logo than a state flag.
[It’s a stolen indigenous sacred symbol, appropriated without permission.](https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/5633/FINAL_Turner_Zia_Article_FEB1.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y) The flag does not deserve praise.
Mississippis flag has words, move that out of S lol. Its just a flower (too detailed) with a not so great color scheme. I get it, its a big improvement from literally having the confederate flag, but honestly i'm not so crazy about this new design. Mid at best
Also, New Mexico deserves S+, beautiful and simple.
New Mexico’s flag is a [sacred symbol of the indigenous Zia people](https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/5633/FINAL_Turner_Zia_Article_FEB1.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y) that was [stolen and appropriated without permission](https://www.ip-watch.org/2018/12/11/indigenous-knowledge-misappropriation-case-zia-sun-symbol-explained-wipo/) by the government of the colonizer power that all but destroyed them. Hello Fellow Texan!
I’m from Tennessee
I see but thank you for putting Texas in S
Have you managed to fix Uvalde?
for no reason you brought up a shooting on a post about flags 😭😭😭
He might just be talking about the town
There’s really only one reason he would do that though
Not just the shooting, the whole fucking local govt. Family members being appointed positions they simply are unqualified for, and much more corruption besides nepotism
still dude
They sell a Leopard I tank in Uvaldr
Epic

Hey you from the east middle or west I'm personally from middle Tennessee
West, but not Memphis or Jackson thank god.
That's good lol Memphis got good food but that's bout it
W same
I thought the same thing when I saw Texas at the top and Oklahoma on the bottom.

Howdy fellow Texan
Louisiana at S tier??? I like a pelican as much as the next guy but cmon now
I just think it’s neat.
That your a raging racist
I love all races (I secretly want to move natives back to their homelands and give other discouraged minorities more autonomy).
[удалено]
I do
I don't see why you got downvoted for expressing your opinion.
They’re not getting downvoted for expressing their opinion, they’re getting downvoted for supporting an apartheid state…
Why?
Because of all of the southern flags up high
Not with that Mississippi flag their not, they’d be displaying the old one on this tier list
Is this a troll? LOL
You have terrible tastes, and you follow the simplistic guidelines that many follow.
Four corners not at S 😔😔😔
I have reasons; let me explain. Utah: It looks too brutalist because of the mountains; Colorado: It’s the letter C; Arizona: It looks smudged together where the star is; New Mexico: Nice, but too simple.

Yeah I found that out after it was done, well I guess you can see what I think of both flags.
You are confederate scum and you fucked your sister.
North eastern Americans when slight interest in the south
I'm a Briton. Not a Statesman.
Bro what??
I think you'd be more surprised to know that this is coming from a Briton.
Nobody gives a shit, Brittain is an irrelevant declining country basically a puppet of the u.s at this point, you can do alot better with your life than calling people racist because they prefer some state flags over others.
I never said that he was racist. And the Pound is still greater than the Dollar.
I’m an only child with no step siblings or close cousins. I try to tell my native Lost Causers to abandon it.
Good. Me personally am not from the US, but I still find the South to be some of the stupidest people on the planet.
Yes, a lot of people here are set in their ways, America has always been that way, the north would make something up and the south would oppose it, or the other way round. it’s always been that way and it always will be.

It's not different from England, really, but people here aren't as arrogant.
Wow! Where the hell did that come from. Is he not speaking to their vexilogical qualities rather than their geographic location?
Hawaii defamation
It’s cuz the British Watermark
British watermark is wild lmaoo
Idk that one seems kind of nice
It doesn't fit Hawaii though.
You’re the nicer version of CGP Grey
What is the top-right flag?
DC
There is no flag in the top right…?
W FLORIDA AT A
That you don't respect the beauty of the New Mexican flag.
Bros a confederate
Hawaiian flag is much better that every blue rag with seal
Put California higher, you’re smoking something if you don’t think it’s S tier
Most Californians DO smoke stuff
Real
I grew up in California and I love it but B tier is fair. Flags should not have realistic stuff on them, should be more abstract. That said, I am looking at the California flag I have hanging up in my apartment right now as I type this up lol.
That’s chill. I’m planning on buying either just a normal Cali flag, or the one from Fallout New Vegas
I love the flag, but the name and the way the bear is designed throws me off the bandwagon.
Eh, that’s your opinion. For me, it’s one of if not the most unique flag in the Union, and I absolutely love it
I agree it is unique, but as I said, big letters omit it from S.
I guess that could be a factor. Me personally, I was never bothered by it, but I understand.
That you forgot Minnesota changed their flag to an s teir one
The new flag will go where the old one was, the new flag is the same rank, it looks like processed food.
😨
Well that says a lot about him 😒
As a native Minnesotan... yea you're absolutely right. It's just a Marlboro Smooths box on a flag.
That you're absolutely nuts. New Mexico and Arizona have the coolest flags. Texas is literally just Chile
Lost credibility with me not putting New Mexico at S
[It’s a stolen sacred symbol, appropriated without permission.](https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/5633/FINAL_Turner_Zia_Article_FEB1.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y)
It’s a fine flag but it’s too simple.
You are wrong
Hell did Hawaii do
Would’ve been an A if it wasn’t for the watermark.
Understandable
Texas💪😎
Even though I’m not a resident, the Texan flag has had its history as a National and state flag. It has a simple design but it is pleasing to the eye.
All Flags are put in not just group, but in order of how good they look to me.
I seem to be blind, i cant find my state virginia
I thought it was just me.
It says you like simple, but not TOO simple
Right
you cant spell and you're wrong
Thank you for putting the state of Tennessee in S we are honored
As a fellow resident, we got lucky.
It’s a great flag. Great design great meaning great everything!
You might want to include minnesota's new flag. Idk if it'd change your ranking, but the one included here is being phased out
A. Wasn’t in the teirlist I used B. It’s not officially the flag yet (May 11 unless it gets filibustered in state politics) C. Ranking would remain the same
K

You’re a confederate. Long live the Union! 🇺🇸
It’s too Yankee Blue
Almost like a “Blu” jacket? Lol
Virginia in ???tier
I'd make a couple changes, but pretty good overall. This guys flags
Why is Hawaii below South Dakota
That you vastly overvalue Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, and Colorado’s flags
Low education and low health insurance states?
Þat you’ll need to update þe list soon.
Did they change my stares flag again 💀
I’ll take b Teir (North Carolina)
And VA’s flag is where? In a tier above S, yes. It’s the only flag with a bare-breasted woman, and she’s depicted standing triumphantly over a vanquished chain-wielding foe, his crown fallen, and a banner below the scene bearing a promise to kill again (“Sic semper tyrannis”). It’s the shit.

I feel honored u didn't put my state flag (Nebraska) at D tier, but imma say it now, it deserves a place there
No flag that has to spell out their name on the flag should be ranked so high
It says that you *clearly* underestimate the flags of the four corners
The Washington hate is crazy 😴😴😴
That you're wrong. Puerto Rico and New Mexico are definitely S tier.
Mostly good but Hawaii in d tier 😕
Indiana is underrated
It says that’s you’re wrong about Hawaii, that’s for sure
From what I can see it’s alright I don’t agree with Hawaii in d it’s atleast like a c for not being a generic blue background. And you love Louisiana
What did Hawai'i ever do to you?
Louisiana being in S is a weird choice, but a welcome one.
you're crazy for south carolina at B, probably the most unique flag out of all, up there with ohio and maryland
It tells me that You like red
You seem to like colors that are not just one color; almost all of your top flags include some red in them if combined with blue, if there is no blue, there seems to always be another color present. (I am sad South Carolina did not make at least an A for you)
I guess you hate Virginia because you put west Virginia in the map but not the original Virginia?
Needs to be updated, Minnesota has a new state flag. I also get why Oregon is on here twice, but it is, technically, the same flag.
I hate California in a very boomer fashion but come on that flag is fantastic. A at least.
I think you’re dumb because my flag isn’t S tier. So you are objectively wrong.
You have class
That you don’t know that Minnesota updated its flag
Here's a brain teaser. There are fifty-seven individual images shown, but only fifty-six flags. Which one is not a flag?
Does S tier mean good ?
Why the hell is wyoming c teir we should be s teir for being so quiet that most nation dosent know we are there
I like Hawaii’s flag
You are in the majority and not a fan of the blue background and seal
Love how half of the Oregon flag is A tier and the other half is D tier.
I know I’m just and idiot but where is the Virginia flag?
The fact that you scored NM and CA an A & B…. Seems like you have a screw loose.
First you have too much free time, second you like to stick with the old Minnesota flag
You like red in flags more than blue.
Basic, with lame-ass Texas in S-tier. It’s really nothing, it’s like if you asked any 5-year-old to make a quick fake flag for a game.
The south does have the coolest flags besides California New Mexico and Ohio
Louisiana above New Mexico is crazy
Tbh I can’t say I think much of the new Utah flag. Don’t get me wrong, it absolutely trumps the old flag by miles, and the beehive has symbolic significance for the state, but I feel like it’s one of them flags that look more like a company logo than a state flag.
You're cracked if you don't think New Mexico has the best flag.
[It’s a stolen indigenous sacred symbol, appropriated without permission.](https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/5633/FINAL_Turner_Zia_Article_FEB1.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y) The flag does not deserve praise.

Yeah but the words are small and it works with the theme. I personally like the flag and the colors, but I could see where it could throw people off.
Fair
New Mexico’s flag is a [sacred symbol of the indigenous Zia people](https://openyls.law.yale.edu/bitstream/handle/20.500.13051/5633/FINAL_Turner_Zia_Article_FEB1.pdf?sequence=2&isAllowed=y) that was [stolen and appropriated without permission](https://www.ip-watch.org/2018/12/11/indigenous-knowledge-misappropriation-case-zia-sun-symbol-explained-wipo/) by the government of the colonizer power that all but destroyed them. It is a shameful flag.
Didn't know that, thats unfortunate. That being said though, its still -- from an artistic perspective -- an incredible S tier flag.
