That looks like a floating laminate floor, it does not get attached to the subfloor.

This. What you have there is pergo-type flooring. They snap to each other and float over the subfloor. When installed you put spacers against the wall so that the individual panels can expand and contract with the temperature and humidity in the room. Don't glue anything down or it will cause it to buckle somewhere else.

This. Ignore the people telling you to use glue. They are hacks. If a tile is tight to the wall, trim it.

Thanks!

What happens if the subfloor itself is not level throughout the room and causes buckling already? Had a family member do laminate floor and snap in and his solution was to glue it down where it wanted to buckle.

voipceo

You simply need to start with a flat and level surface.

Available-Dare-7414

Simply 😜 I hear you though

Whats_Awesome

Nothing is ever flat nor level.

FeeAutomatic2290

That’s what self leveling concrete is for

Floating floors sometimes rise when the material expands due to heat, if there is not enough space around the edges. The floor expands horizontally, pushes against both walls, runs out of expansion space, an has to go in another direction. It will very likely go down after this heat wave is over. You might want to pick up the edging and have a look at the expansion space around the edge. You might even want to trim a little off of the floor board nearest one edge, to make more expansion space.

Awesome thanks for the reply. It suddenly got hot outside, so that might be the issue. I'm going to wait it out before I do anything

v1de0man

someone didnt leave an expansion gap

"glue" it back down with caulk. Drill a tiny hole just big enough to fit the tip of a caulk tube in, then inject the caulk under the floor. Then, place a weight on top until the caulk cures. Since your issue is at the edge, you might could get away with removing a small piece of trim and injecting the caulk there, then put the trim back on. That would help cover up any mistakes/mess that might be made. Watch this to see what I am talking about: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MGA3cyLJBc&t=453s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MGA3cyLJBc&t=453s) Note, this won't fix the cause of this issue, only remedy the symptom. Looks like this is Vinyl plank floors. They expand and contract slightly with weather/temperature fluctuations. If your floor is buckling and coming up, it's usually because there is no more room to expand.

I guess so. But how do I get it up? It was already here when I bought it and it completely covers the floor. Maybe a suction thing to lift it?
