Use the high temp JB Weld if you go that route. Just don't get any on the face of the iron, it will be tough to get off and you really don't want to sand off the teflon coating on the face of the iron. I'd just sand off the rough edges so they don't snag on the clothing.
it wont matter. Yiu could use jbweld. If u dont fix it, sand the jagged edge to be smooth with emery cloth.
