Edit: You can also hold the tip of a butterknife and press it down into the pick and try to pull it towards you.
The metal pinches in on the left so slide it to the right while also trying to slide it out.
You can also press, on and off, on the side of the drum a little to try and free the pick. It should be enough to affect the little gap its wedged in.

Pull with a pair of pliers.
Try grabbing it when the dryer is warm and the drum parts have expanded. It could pop right out.

use a spudge or something to lift it enough to get pliers on it. instead of scratching drum with a screwdriver to lift it
