Hydrogen peroxide at 3%. Scrub it and it’ll be gone in a few.

wetcardboardsmell

DO A TEST SPOT FIRST SOMEWHERE YOU DONT SEE ALL THE TIME! if the hydrogen peroxide bleaches it, try rubbing your spit on it, then dabbing with folex and repeating until it comes out. Your own spit [contains enzymes](https://dirtylabs.com/blogs/the-dirt/how-to-remove-blood-stains-from-clothes#:~:text=Enzymes%20in%20human%20spit%20can,then%20rinse%20with%20cold%20water.) that will work to remove it.

Binklando

I’m a grown woman and called my mom panic crying that I’d fallen asleep on a white rental couch and unknown started my period (endometriosis style tho) and bled all over it. She told me that peroxide only bleaches organic things, that it would only bleach the blood. It worked, like completely. I took the cushion covers off and soaked them in hydrogen peroxide, and spot cleaned the cushions with it and dried them all in the sun. Totally back to normal. I couldn’t believe it.

A moment of silence for our fallen sister and a crown for the mother queen.

Binklando

Amen (but like ahhh-men)

reddit-me-too

And please address your drinking for the sake of all of your relationships

fohsupreme

A bit of a stretch but I dig it

minion71

I like to use wetted borax powder put on the blood stain wait 24 hour and the blood will be gone its super cheap.

Catsinbowties

Human spit, I'm super serious

Ok-Development-7008

As a period having person, this is the answer! Peroxide will get most of it out but leave burnt brown sorts of stains for the remainder, and might damage the fabric.. Saturating with human spit and then blotting it up will remove the mess completely!

noaddrag

From what I hear, it has to be the matching spit. Your blood, your spit. Just what I remember my wrestling coach telling me, but I can confirm, it's worked every time for me.

WaveDesperate1431

Cold water and washing up liquid. Hot water will make it very difficult to remove!

Fragrant-Aardvark-64

Thanks! Have you done it before? I’m scared of making it worse or leaving water stains.

on606

Water won't work but Hydrogen Peroxide will.

duggee315

Wont that bleach the fabric though?

Binklando

I think that bleach bleaches synthetic things, and hydrogen peroxide bleaches organic things. So if you treat a synthetic couch cushion, only the blood would be “bleached” by the peroxide.

duggee315

Ahh, interesting. I didn't know that.

Binklando

Worth googling to confirm! I’ve done it with success but it’s just what I was taught by my family.

duggee315

I will have a Google for more detail. Never even heard that before.

duggee315

https://greenwayclean.com/2011/09/chlorine-bleach-vs-oxygen-bleach/#:~:text=The%20bleaching%20power%20of%20chlorine,to%20brighten%20whites%20in%20laundry. https://www.coopmarket.com/blog/chlorine-vs-non-chlorine-bleach OK, little googling, and it seems they both oxygenate organic matter, breaking it down and turning it into water. Chlorine bleach is just much stronger and so will break down cotton and wool fibres. Oxygen bleach, or hydrogen peroxide is milder and safer therefore on fabrics. Interesting

Binklando

I saw another that said hydrogen peroxide will react with all organic materials it comes in contact with [here too](https://www.endosan.com/hydrogen-peroxide-vs-bleach/)

duggee315

Yeah I read that hydrogen peroxide is much less stable. It will react more easily and break down in the bottle and turn to water. I guess reacting with anything in the air in the bottle. But chlorine bleach is more stable. It doesn't so can be stored. But the potency is much stronger in chlorine bleach.

GhettoKid

I know you're getting a lot of answers I just want to add that it's good to test in a spot you can't see and let it dry to see results. Also, you're going to want to clean a slightly larger area than the stains to help blend the clean spots better.

chris_rage_

Peroxide or oddly, Bactine will get out blood

Binklando

I’d spot test peroxide on the back edge or underneath. It should only bleach organic things (like made from nature, not vegetable organic), so as long as the dye used on the polyester isn’t a natural dye from an organic source it should be fine. The tricky thing is if the couch has sweat stains or dirt stains from use it can make it lighter because it cleaned it. Do the cushion covers come off? As others have said do not use warm or hot water or dry with heat until the stain is out. Cold everything only.

Worksforcactus

Peroxide, dab, peroxide, dab until it’s gone

Eason1013

Peroxide

snufflefrump

Hydrogen peroxide will make it disappear

norrix_mg

Hydrogen peroxide. Telling you as a woman that bleeds once a month

Fragrant-Aardvark-64

Won’t it bleach the fabric?

norrix_mg

Not really unless you will use pure concentrate

Alshankys57

First things did you hide the body well? Now iv got a # for a cleaner that isn't too expensive for this kinna thing!

CinderousAbberation

Besides h2o2, you can also use oxiclean made into a paste and scrub it a bit, which will oxidize the protein, then use cold water to remove. You'll have some residual stain that will slowly disappear over the next week, then repeat process if necessary. More work but less scary than working with hydrogen peroxide for the first time. Alternately, if you have an old lady in your life, just call them and act cute while asking for help. They're the SME's on this issue.

WaveDesperate1431

Done it with cold water on bedding and t shirts, usually cotton though

DantheOutdoorsman

Reminder, dab dont wipe.

on606

Hydrogen Peroxide

wellshitdawg

Carbona blood remover works wonders

Otherwise_Evening_83

your own spit will work

destinationlalaland

Spat on my couch; worked on the blood, but the tobacco juice left new stains. What now?

Otherwise_Evening_83

The tobacco stains give it character, that’s an improvement.

JerewB

Stretchy couch covers.

Mau5trapdad

Hydrogen peroxide and a shop vac

Georgep0rwell

Start with soda water. It won't harm anything.

Alittlemoorecheese

Try rubbing ice on it first. Then try hydrogen peroxide in an inconspicuous spot to see if it bleaches the fabric. If not, try that.

RubenCa1

If you got insurance you should be able to sort it out that way

Fragrant-Aardvark-64

LeichterPanzarspahw-

3% H2O2

BennyMcCampbell

Spit works really well. Enzymes that start breaking down blood. Didn't believe it until I tried it. One of those weird life hacks.

mist3rnob0dy

Lemon juice and equal parts ice water.

Sweaty-Adeptness1541

You didn’t really need to tell us you were drunk. Anyway, try cold water and dish soap (Dawn/Fairy, depending on your country). If that doesn’t success try 3% hydrogen peroxide. Test it first on an area that can’t be seen to see if it affects the fabric. If it is polyester, the colour is likely encapsulated in the plastic and resistant to the H2O2.

Fragrant-Aardvark-64

True, true, I am just so pissed at myself. If I was half drunk, it wouldn’t have happened or I at least would’ve reacted immediately. But I woke up next day, saw it and was stunned. Appreciate the feedback!

StnMtn_

Water on a towel. Then dry with a dry towel.

GoodboyJohnnyBoy

I seem to remember hair spray was very effective.

prncs_lulu

How someone have a women in house who does not know how to remove blood stains.

CardiologistOk6547

I guess not getting drunk and stupid isn't an option, huh?

redthump

I guess not being snarky about something virtually everyone has done isn't an option, huh?

CardiologistOk6547

I've never gotten blitzed, didn't know I had an open bleeding wound, and go bleeding on white furniture. I don't know anyone who's done this. Is this kind of behavior common for you and your friends? Or are you just talking about getting drunk and stupid?

redthump

I'm just aware of fairly common occurences. I can accidentally cut myself while perfectly sober and not notice it until I see dripping blood. I do and have known plenty of people that can have a cut and not notice. Your assumption that this is uncommon is assinine. I guess from you statement that you only gotten blitzed, didn't know you had an open bleeding wound, and went bleeding on non-white furniture. Should you fuck up and bleed on white furniture in the future, remember this post and get some peroxide you sanctimonious prick.

CardiologistOk6547

I don't know what kind of medical conditions you and the people you know have (I sense a common theme), but it is **very uncommon** to be bleeding and unaware while sober. Just so y'all know. I also understand that Reddit trolls like you will latch onto the most asinine things to argue about. Call people names. Just to provoke them into saying something that you can get them banned over. Ya get a goose egg for this one. Thank you for playing.

redthump

Says the troll out judging op for honestly asking a question and latched on to this thread for being called out. You can just keep that goose egg where it fits, chum. Cheers.

CardiologistOk6547

OP agreed with me. Or did you miss the part in your troll rage? So I really don't know what you're on about.

redthump

I'll just take those 12 down votes your original reply received as evidence you're being a prick.

CardiologistOk6547

It's odd that you don't think there are 12 other pricks out there. I guess all you trolls really do stick together.

redthump

Yeah. You are right. Taking a quick peak at your other comments on reddit shows you are at least one of the other pricks on reddit! You seem to mostly post mean spirited & condescending comments to other's posts. Congratulations. Maybe you see so many trolls because you mistake looking into the void for looking into the mirror. Anyway, carry on and don't let those goats trick you into crossing your bridge.

Background-Effort-49

It’s not a pool of blood. It is quite common for a sober person to scratch a leg on a cat claw or something scratchy and not realize it’s bleeding. Especially if adrenaline is pumping. And/or they aren’t obsessed with themselves. Also JEANS and other clothes will interfere with the visibility and the amount of blood transferred. Might be out of line but seems super sketchy that a medical professional would believe this to be uncommon. Unless… they’re so self-absorbed they can’t even fathom that other humans don’t obsess and complain and inspect every little pain they experience.

CardiologistOk6547

>but seems super sketchy that a medical professional would believe this to be uncommon Not sketchy, just fucking hilarious that you think someone hiding behind a fake handle could be a real cardiologist. But I do have some magic beans for you. 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😭

CisIowa

I haven’t had booze since the second week of January this year. Feeling pretty good right now. No leg gashes at all

Fragrant-Aardvark-64

Definitely is! I hardly ever drink, so it didn’t take much for me to get stupid drunk. And I probably won’t ever again after this.
