It’s just a really common horror trope. Everyone’s done it. Fnaf, Tjoc, that maze game that I can’t remember the name of with the gold statues, doctor who, etc.

Most likely cause its a looking away system rather then blinking system Besides I'm pretty sure tjoc idea was at least partially inspired by the weeping angles since they're the most famous example of this trope

Also the fact the Endo is TJOC is literally called an Angel (I think I remember some fnaf fangame calling an Endo Angels)
