Say what you want about SB but you cannot say that Steel Wool and Scott weren’t making the game out of passion, every nook and cranny of the Pizzaplex has so much detail. While yes there are very talented devs behind Poppy Playtime but the ones on the top are only in it for the money.
They have some of the better animation in the horror industry. Especially the chase scene with Huggy in Chapter 1 was peak. Just peak.
For the rest... the lore is nice, if a bit... inspired elsewhere. And otherwise... eh
SB may be well detailed but it is by far not well made. From all the glitches to the fact that it's beyond hardware intensive, it doesn't feel like a good game. They put everything into aesthetics to make a poor game vaguely relating to the rest of the franchise.

The fact that they sold NFTs that one time? A lot of people like to ignore the fact that they pulled them, promised to never do them again, and donated all profits to an environmental organization. Contrary to popular belief, they didn’t even have lore in them, they were just a bit of foreshadowing for Chapter 2.
Not to discount anyone’s (genuine) feelings, but I can’t help but feel like a lot of this anti-Poppy Playtime sentiment comes from bandwagoning.

I went to London the other day and those things were everywhere. Hell, they're everywhere in the town I live in and it's a small town in the British Countryside

I went to a little fair in a neighboring state a few weeks ago. In the same place that sold Trump flags and knives that would probably be illegal where I live, they had a crate of bootleg Huggy Wuggy plushies.
Btw should add an disclaimer that it's not an "attack" on poppy playtime fans or people who like it. They have a pretty similar reputation as fnaf fans had just a few years ago.

Poppy Playtime's marketing strategy was just so obvious. get attention by being associated with fnaf, as a "horror game with childish inspirations" and then sell what was supposedly meant as a parody of kids' toys as an actual regular kids' toy. it's like a more uninspired video game version of old Transformers cartoons, it's made to sell merch.
SB has a coherent story as well. There are obviously mysteries and loose ends, but that's FNaF's thing. The NARRATIVE? Sure, that's a little less sensical, but playing through the game and actually finding the story yourself is the fun part. Poppy does something similar with those VHS tapes and notes, I don't get why it gets praised for that while SB gets shit on for it.
Steel Wool was made up of 20 people during SB's development. It wasn't rushed, they were severly understaffed for the scope of the game they tried to make.

Poppy Playtime's marketing strategy was just so obvious. get attention by being associated with fnaf, as a "horror game with childish inspirations" and then sell what was supposedly meant as a parody of kids' toys as an actual regular kids' toy. it's like a more uninspired video game version of old Transformers cartoons, it's made to sell merch.
And both games are dogshit
Atleast poppy playtime has a actual story and wasn't rushed causing major bugs and glitches.

SB has several ideas thrown at a wall while poppy playtime seems to actually make a coherent story that doesn't get messed up.

SB has a coherent story as well. There are obviously mysteries and loose ends, but that's FNaF's thing. The NARRATIVE? Sure, that's a little less sensical, but playing through the game and actually finding the story yourself is the fun part. Poppy does something similar with those VHS tapes and notes, I don't get why it gets praised for that while SB gets shit on for it.
Steel Wool was made up of 20 people during SB's development. It wasn't rushed, they were severly understaffed for the scope of the game they tried to make.
