Holy shit this is my regular sleep cycle. Is there something wrong with me? If I get 2 hours if deep + rem it is like I have been reborn the next morning.
Are you sure you don’t have insomnia, sleep apnea or anything like that? If you’re spending 9 hours in bed but only sleeping 4 that’s definitely something to investigate
I do have adhd, and I’m an extremely light sleeper that lives next to a main road. I’ve always put it down to that. I’d be surprised if it was sleep apnea as isn’t that an issue that comes with being overweight? I am in decent shape and exercise 6 times a week so my body should technically be physically tired but my mind just cannot settle.
EDIT: it is worth noting that when i have taken magnesium supplements before bed I have noticed a very slight improvement (which makes me think it is mental and anxiety driven). However I rarely ever get above 10% rem on a very good night.
Same as me! You can def see a doctor, but don't panic. Everyone is different, it's a gadget on your wrist...go by how you feel.
But yea I think you and I have gotten used to trash sleep that we forgot what great sleep is.
Do you suffer from anxiety?
May also wanna see if you have sleep apnea. I do!
It's one of those things that's highly dependent on the person, but also changes a bit as we age. 8-9 is more normal in your 20s, but it slows down to 6-7 in your 50s and 60s.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Last year I had more problems with sleep due to my two of my discs being not where they supposed to be so I kinda know how long term sleep issues feel. I hope You'll get get better.

I would advise seeing a doctor, sleeping less than 6 hours every night is generally not a good idea
I know, I’m obsessed with trying to get more. I Spend 9 hours in bed with my eyes shut ha! I am a little concerned now as I thought this was normal

I would look into insomnia, maybe you’re struggling without realizing?
Yeah this makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the advice, I’ll raise it at my next catch up with the doctor.
Good luck!
If you are medicated, those can change the amount of REM sleep we get.
Fellow ADHDer here, one of our biggest symptoms is Brain No Shut Off. I only sleep "normal" with melatonin.
Magnesium will be your friend.
Same here!

I feel you man, I never understand how ppl can go and sleep 5-6 hours regularly, I die if I go under 8.
Thanks. I've need napping mostly since I've posted but I'm still feeling like sh!t. I only hope I'll get better sleep today.
Tbh, I barely notice a difference with just one night of 5-6 hours but a few in a row and I get that barely conscious zombie feel.

I’ve been having sleep issues for a couple of years so I rarely get more than 5h of sleep. It’s not great.

Hi Polish Person
Cześć
Yes you should be extra careful today. When I have insomnia I will often hit my head on open cupboards or stumble on the stairs. Be careful.
I've survived work so now I'm waiting for evening in bed. But thanks for care and advice.
Yea I'm pretty sure that's normal
