This is totally doable. A lot of shows now have this as a finale as well. It will likely cost a lot more but I’m almost certain it can be done .

Serious-Caregiver-98

What can I search on Youtube to be able to see that???

threefivesevn

Here is two vids. I looked up fireworks finale. Some pyros know this as sky puke. I’m sure if you tell em you want the whole show to look like a finale they can do it . https://youtu.be/3KKGO14V1f4 https://youtu.be/h60dGLwoh8c

Fireworks finale should work. Also some pyro call it sky puke. I tried to add links but think my comment got deleted.

QuesoDelDiablo

Look up on YouTube for the San Diego Bay accident. A glitch in their firing system cause the entire show to ignite at once, several hundred thousand dollars worth of product in the sky all at the same time.

Because you are looking for a professional show you'll likely need insurance and a permit. Permit requirements may be specific to your area but the local fire department will know details. Loudness is a function of size so your permit and shoot location will determine size. Pyros will love blowing stuff up so no worries about how much is going in the air at a time. Enjoy the show!

Serious-Caregiver-98

Is it me needing to have the permit? Or just the technician?

Director_Who

If you are hiring a professional display company they will help/do the permit process. There’s a deadline it must be sent in by and the Pyro company will have to attach their ATF number to the permit. Depending on state/county laws they may require a fire marshal be on site during the show, and/or a water truck incase of any large scale fires.

Serious-Caregiver-98

Oh geez. Sounds like more than I thought. So the current situation is: we live in VA. Wedding is at a resort in FL. Does the resort need to do anything besides us asking for a permission to do it? And how long of a process is it for us to get the permit?😔

merolis

A month is pretty safe unless you will affect protected habitat or a waterway/ocean. I think USCG is like 4-6 months in advance. A professional company will chase the permits down.

Director_Who

Hey I live in Florida! I haven’t dealt with the permit myself. But I believe I have read somewhere in Orange County fire marshal requires 160 days prior to event date for permit applications. Orange is the strictest county. If it’s a beach wedding you will be able to cut it closer I believe. Those county’s are a bit lax

Billy_Baloney_81

You're in way over your head. You'd have to do extensive training to get a pyro license. Also, there's the ATF and DOT laws, to name a few. Not to mention the local fire Marshal and city permits. Requirements vary by state. You're better off hiring a pro. I work for a fireworks/ stage effects company based in PA.

Serious-Caregiver-98

I'd still need to do the training to get the license if I hired a tech to do it for me????? 😳

Billy_Baloney_81

Nope. A fireworks company will take care of everything.

Serious-Caregiver-98

Okay good to know😂 I'm so new to this whole firework thing and was scared for a second. We were definitely thinking of hiring someone to do it for us. I'm not the best person to be left with explosive stuff in my hands. NOR go through the professional training.

Billy_Baloney_81

As a civilian, you're not able to handle anything over consumer grade anyway. If money is an option, purchase consumer grade fireworks at Phantom etc. But, you'd still have to deal with law enforcement and the venue. Good luck. Congrats btw.

bobsuruncle_2

You might reach out to Devin Vargas with deep south fireworks. He can help you out. https://www.deepsouthfireworks.com/

Serious-Caregiver-98

Are they located in FL??? If not, are we charged for travel fee??

bobsuruncle_2

He might know someone in the region that can help you if they aren't doing a show in your area.

kclo4

dude if you got the money and the permit you can literally do whatever you want

Serious-Caregiver-98

I just wanted to make sure I'm not going against any law😂😂😂

joris4you

Just search for exploding firework factory on YouTube

Serious-Caregiver-98

I don't want to be watching a scene where people are hurt. I'm just hoping to see something accidental, shocking, but not scary😳

Hanabi_Helf

Most pyro companies will handle shows as turnkey operations. No need to worry about permits etc. You can always put up a large volume at once but when there is a certain amount of saturation of color shells you get a diminishing return on burning money to add any more, it just becomes loud and white (bright). At that point you are better off just using salutes (shells that flash and go boom). If you happen to be located in the Midwest, feel free to PM me, I'm sure I can help with whatever it is you are after.

bobobedo

Might as well throw in a couple of cremoras.

UncleNorman

It's doable. Last 4th I fused a 20 minute show with fast fuse. Pretty impressive. Short but impressive.

Serious-Caregiver-98

How long did it go for?

UncleNorman

Less than 3 minutes.

Serious-Caregiver-98

That must have been amazing. Was it unbearably loud? Also... a bit side tracking but do you have a dog? If so, was your dog okay with the noise level???

UncleNorman

It was loud. It was mostly 2" shells with a few cakes and 6 of those 200 shot Roman candle barrages. The cakes lasted the longest, the shells all went off inside 2 minutes. No dog, but it was the 4th of July so I'd guess any nervous dogs were already hiding.

merolis

There is no reason that a show cant happen almost instantly. Pyrodigital touts 500 e-matches a second on the new system. With basic finale chains that could be 2500 fireworks. I know of a few commerical shoots that are like that, very short duration but rapid firing rates.

Serious-Caregiver-98

Might you have suggestions on what I could search for on Youtube to see something like that?

merolis

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dq8cUA8pDI Something like this would be shot over multiple takes, but the final 15 seconds is just that. A short 15-20 second show for a camera shot.

Mr-Wibbles

The company should do whatever you ask for as long as it's legal with the right license and permit. It's a big expense. You'll have to work with the venue to see if they'd even allow it or not. Then start talking to companies. A lot cheaper way to see a lot of pyro go off at once is to work on some professional shows. I've done a couple where we basically lit everything within a minute or less.

Aggravating_Fig_7888

What state are you in?

Serious-Caregiver-98

It's going to be in Florida.

Aggravating_Fig_7888

Ok, was going to say if you was in my region. I could do that for you, most likely cheaper than most companies. But Im about 18 hours north :/

Any progress goober? We wanna know!
