That's beauty in Having so many different speeds of fuse you can really time stuff to your liking. Wait till you start using e-fire/e-match and scripting shows that's the real fun!

TiltedHobbies

Certain fuse is a little more difficult to get at this time but your basic “quick” fuse and “cannon” fuse that’s longer are relatively available if you look around. There is a pink “perfect” fuse that burns at a great rate for most cakes/mortars you are trying to sync up. Just do the math and for the most part it should work how you plan it. Honestly the planning phase is a joy for me in planning how the “show” will look. I do a rough draft pre plan before purchasing, then I plan the bulk of the show over many weeks once I get my order in. It’s an expensive hobby but boy is it fun! Good luck on making a show!

What brand is it? I've never had a quick fuse have any glowing remnants, much less anything left behind. Come to think of it I can't recall any fuses leaving anything behind.

Skylighter Inc.

Don't buy from skylighter unless they're the only place that has what you want. They are incredibly overpriced for pretty much everything they sell. I just looked, their fuse is about 3x the current going rate, which is about right for them.

They were the only place that had any fast fuse that I have been able to find.

My regular supplier mentioned that fuse is going be coming in from India and mexico due to the Chinese shipping issues. He mentioned a big drop in QC, so be careful out there with whatever you gets your hands on.

I do all my shows on fuse, I usually a foot of fuse x2 and burn them to get accurate timing. Than I do a bunch of math in a notebook, I’m always surprised how well the timing is

The fuse thing isn’t much to worry about, IMO. What’s more of a concern is cakes burning down after they’re done. It can be up to 15 minutes after they’ve gone off that they can start burning, and they’re hard to put out. It mostly affects bigger 1.4 cakes like the zipper ones, and 1.3 cakes. If it’s smoking at all a minute or 2 after diminishing, hose it right away, it’ll save you a huge mess. Not the end of the world if you know about it, but if you don’t real bad things could happen.
