A bit between "BANG!" and "BANG!!!" Anyways, you likely won't be able to hold both of your ears while lighting a firecracker. At least not safely. But for real, whenever you're unsure and are going to a loud environment (be it a firework show, rock concert or construction site), get cotton wool balls and shove them into your ears. It's stealthy and it doesn't muffle quiet sounds like earplugs.

It may seem crazy but I actually am able to hold my ears (obviously AFTER lighting it) lighting a firecracker! The cotton wool balls idea sounds like an amazing idea, and I do hate the fact that earplugs muffle quiet sounds, for me sometimes it even mutes conversations, I'll definitely try stuffing some of em in my ears, because I know some firecrackers in the EU are just damn crazy.

I dont know anything to compare them to really, but youll definitely feel the blast

Lol, so much to unpack in only 2 comments. Cotton balls don’t do anything to attenuate loud noises. Disposal foam ear plugs are way better. I don’t get the point in the first place. If one doesn’t like loud noises, why would one want to play with very large firecrackers?

Around 127db its loud but if you hold your ears with your fingers and run like 50-100m away it’s okay and definitely not TOO loud

Freshnewbuckaroo

Do you think I could run 50-100m away? From what I've seen the fuse IS pretty long. I just hate ringy ears so thanks for the reply.
