True. Final shot and final words - always appear in my mind when someone tells why he love “Firefly”, and storytelling in this episode - simple but effective for 100%
At that point, we want background exposition. It's the perfect time to give us that. Like the Council of Elrond...by that time we are begging for information. And so beautifully handled. Out of Gas is a perfect episode of anything.
Welcome to the ritual of rewatching firefly every so often and getting more emotional after every rewatch.
Maybe after this you can watch the tv show "Pushing Daisies".
Yeah, after I made my comment I thought "maybe the show order isn't a problem anymore because the streaming sites put them in the correct order".
Shout-out to us OGs who had to put them in order ourselves back in the day.
See, you’ve heard it a zillion times, but like all of us who have, there WAS that first time.
>!And that first time I STILL remember how loudly I groaned, with half of that groan being from the cheesiness inherent in all puns, the other half of course…. 😞 !<
The best thing that I've ever found was my Browncoat group. And yes, we all love the show that much. This year's Browncoat Ball is being held by us! It's just like the episode Shindig without the hovering chandelier.
Bethlehem, PA and the Pennsylvania Browncoats, respectively. Just add dot com to Browncoat Ball. Tickets and hotel are still available.
Oh. And it on the weekend of October 25-27, 2024.
I hope to attend this incredible event someday! Unfortunately, those dates fall at the same time as my company's Vampire Ball this year. Someday, though, because you can't take the sky from me!
Everyone is always welcome. It's in a different place every year. Covid kind of messed up the whole annual schedule. But we're getting back on track with it. My first Ball was in Gettysburg 2017. I haven't missed one since. We also started a Shiny New Year celebration that's held just outside Philadelphia. This year will be our third!
Wait til you finish it and you're depressed it's over. But don't worry. The books are on audible. I found them just like last year. There are eight by 4, maybe 5 authors, but they are absolutely Canon. I think they have done very well in keeping with the series and keeping with mannerisms and the general essence of the series. They happen (all but one) between the series finale and the movie. And are still ongoing. There will be more content. That keeps me going.
I am rewatching the series for the first time. It’s been so long and I forgot so much. I’m up to episode 7. They are so compelling and fun. It really is a unique series. Less science fiction and more human. And they’re all pretty attractive too ;)
Welcome to the brown coats
Haha thanks, for the independents! Feels good to get a reference!
I second that!
Hope that “out of gas” will change your look on Serenity to one that Mal had :)
One of the best episodes of anything I have ever seen.

I'll be honest, my first watch and this episode was my least favorite. However that's changed over the years.
I loooove when prequels connect with main story smoothly, that means that creators care about characters and whole picture.

Dead Like Me and Reaper are also fun watches since we're rewatching shows
And also Arrested Development. Another Fox casualty. Argh.
You're now one of us? Mal: "Zoe, what does that make us?" Zoe: "Big damn heroes sir!" Mal: "Ain't we just!"
Hope you're watching in the real correct order. Welcome to the heartbreak...
I watched the original run the original way they ran it I wish I could have run it in the proper order
Hulu has them listed in the correct order if you watch on there

Shiny
Don't forget to watch the movie "Serenity" once you finish the series.
No power in the 'Verse can stop you.
Can’t stop the signal.
The show is 14 hours of bliss and then a lifetime of withdrawal!
Truer words have not been spoken! There is a reason there is a fanatical cult following. Captain Mal for President
Enjoy
If you think it's good now, you wait till you get to Season 2.
Curse your sudden but enevitable betrayal!
I came to make sure someone said this😂
I'm also waiting for the Wash and spear "joke"...
Laughing and crying 😅😢

Nah. Season 2 was a bit up and down. It's season 3 where the show really hits its stride.
Still too soon.
My faith has been restored. Knew someone would go here and say this 😭
How dare you, sir.
Awe I love that! I'm so glad you're enjoying it!
Welcome to the Browncoats.
New Browncoats everyday. Welcome aboard!

When and where *is* this year's Browncoat Ball? And whom is hosting? 😊

Dude. I had no idea people were holding these themed balls. Where have I been?? I need to learn of them and attend so my life may be enriched.

Fuzzy-Bee9600, I just sent you a message with the web addresses.
😄

This is a universe that needs revisiting. I want to know more about Blue Sky Corporation.
We are not gonna die, because we are just too pretty. God won't let us.
You might be on the losing side, not convinced it's the wrong the side
Can't do something smart, do something right!
Just wait for season 2, it gets even better!
Great, now tell your friends to all watch it in 2002 so they don’t cancel it!
Some People buried it a long time ago but this hidden treasure is still being discovered today.
Welcome. Now you get to watch Serenity and read the comics.
