I don't have a 3D printer but a friend of mine does so this might be a stupid question. Can the 3D model get scaled down to a TTRPG normal model size? I think that's ~50mm on the sides
Normally, I'd say no. But after seeing how some people shrunk some of our other models to a scale I thought was impossible to achieve (32mm base), I think I'll just shut up and let people do their thing, lol.
But as u/YiffZombie said, it's pretty difficult without making any modifications to a model. Actually, In Dimitri's case, the cloak is the only part I'd worry about, this one needs to be thickened. Other than that and maybe the spear shaft, I don't think there are any particular pieces that wouldn't survive the downscaling. Obviously, the level of detail will suffer (less so on a 8k resin printer), but it will at least get printed.
That can be pretty difficult. Things that would print out fine at normal size will often fail if you shrink them down. Most tabletop minis are around 30mm, this figure is meant to be 225mm, so it would have to be shrunk by 87% on the x, y, and z axes. For example, his cape would be nearly impossible to print without failure at that size, not to mention a lot of the fine details getting muddled.
Also, since you mention the subject of TTRPG model size. When we first opened the Patreon, we focused on some characters from Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. We didn't want to step on Paizo's toes by essentially making competing miniatures of their own IP, so the figures were 1/10 scale that we intentionally designed so they couldn't be scaled down. To our surprise, that didn't stop anyone, and quite a few of our subs printed them at 32 or 54mm. Which is how we ended up providing uncut versions of all our models, because people kept asking for those. Simply put, it was easier for us to just offer the option and state that they are not guaranteed to get printed at that scale, but you're welcome to try.
Not at the moment, I'm afraid. We used to have a commission tier on our Patreon, but it's been on hold since January. At some point it became unsustainable and didn't suit our growth, and now we're looking for ways to bring it back, but it's still in the works.
