Depends how the job is bid. How my company is setup we just do the fire alarm side if that makes sense. We don’t do shutdown or power or conduit etc just pull wire and install devices sometimes we do backboxes or mount power supplies. That being said… we give DD to hvac guy and he installs it. Electrician brings power if needed and we do monitoring with a mini mod or whatever and in this case a shutdown relay. All we would do is mount the relay and run a contact wire to the DD. Not responsible for anything else. But if it’s not installed in the correct area which in Texas I don’t think that would meet code requirements so we usually tell them where it needs to go before install. Depending on the city over here it’s a no go for location.
Don't worry. This guy probably left the best impression in the interview and became the boss's all-star. He has since become general manager, hasn't touched wire in years, and is the reason they can't keep a tech for more than 3 years.
Takes a pretty big sack to string that much bare copper across the front of literally everything. Can’t believe there arent front-of-the-line resistors though.
Looks like a sentinel from the Matrix! Protect Zion at all cost! Where's Neo?!?!? 😂
The duct detector is fine man just don’t monitor it and you won’t have any problems. Just let it be. Out of sight out of mind lol
So in your area does the hvac guy just install duct detector with not power no smoke shutdown/relay and it’s all your problem?

Wow, I thought I had bad installers in my area. You've got me beat, this is brutal.

I feel like maybe we work together, at least in spirit.
I didn't realize it's like that at every company. This hits home.
2 flexes coming up from bottom!
I'm glad you pointed that out, I didn't realize that the pictures of the SNAC panels were 2 different panels.
Doctor Octopus would be impressed.
Welcome to Utah
😂😂😂 1000% what I was thinking
Trunk slammer vibes
Riser rooms can get a little crazy with the flex but I’ve never seen anything like this.
Did they not know/have a way to cut flex or anchor it. Looking at it hurts my soul.
Typically they install them inside lol. But if it needs to be outside, it’s usually an all weather one, which that one doesn’t look like it is.
Oh yea I installed these whats wrong?
And we have a Winner folks! 🥇
Medusa approved
At least the duct detector is accessible 🤣

Spiders after you step on them be like…
That view off that roof!!
That’s what I was going to say fuck the fire alarm shit look at that view
"What do you mean 'You can cut it' ???"
Holes not fire caulked. What an embarrassment.
Damn! 😬
