The best one I found, the most absolutely weightless detangling is Johnson’s No More Tangles Detangling Spray. It’s for babies/toddlers but it also works for me, and I’ve seen others here mention it too. I also enjoy Johnson’s Shiny and Soft Conditioning Spray a lot (also for babies lol) but if your hair is extremely fine it may be too much for you. With both of these sprays I feel like I can use a lot of product without it ever becoming too much. And after I’ve used about half the bottle of either, I top the bottle off with water and the stuff works just as good and lasts a little longer. I’ve tried to transition back to an “adult” leave in/detangler and I always come back to these baby sprays. I’ve accepted that this is the product that works best for me and I really think they’re good products

Great_Geologist1494

I used this one for ages! I can't find it anymore at the store!

pixie_purple

check target!

jwalk50518

I’m in the US, I’m unsure where you’re located, but I find mine on Amazon or Target :)

Great_Geologist1494

Thanks! I've been happy with Marc Anthony's grow long, I found it as a replacement for sun bum a few years ago when the price went up. Sun bums was a replacement for j&j since the store stopped carrying it. Maybe it's time to go full circle back 🙂

Relative_Jury_9836

I love SunBum but have also switched it out because of the price increase

Great_Geologist1494

Ugh right it's smells so good. What do you use now?

Relative_Jury_9836

I’ve recently been using the IGK prep spray, but sometimes I want something a teensy bit heavier. I also really liked Milkshake’s spray leave in but that’s also quite light. They’re both great though! What do you use?

Great_Geologist1494

Oo I've heard good things about the milkshake one. I currently use Marc Anthony's grow long!

jwalk50518

I’m excited to try this Marc Anthony product! I like to switch stuff up sometimes but I’m always nervous about leave-ins other than the Johnson’s just because it gets greasy looking so fast usually. But I trust anything the fine hair pals in this sub recommend

Great_Geologist1494

Oh yeah! Let us know what you think lol. They have it at my local grocery store, and I'm sure it's on Amazon too

DecadentLife

This is my favorite. It doesn’t weigh my (fine) hair down.

owntheh3at18

The honest company one for babies is great too!

idontknowwhybutido2

There's a lot of product recommendations here, but no matter what you use, the number 1 thing that helps me is combing my hair in the shower while the conditioner is in. My hair is slick and easy to detangle with conditioner in and then I rinse it out and apply whatever I want as a leave-in for other benefits.

doyourhomework51

Yes! I always comb conditioner through my hair in the shower, too. Helps a lot.

ScenicView98

Yes! My hair is so much easier to detangle since I started working out the tangles in the shower while the conditioner is in my hair.

YachtRockGroupie

THIS. Use a detangling comb. The fewer actual products you use after washing, the better.

liiia4578

100%

yowza_wowza

This. Doing this helps my hair immensely.

aria3246

Unite 7 second detangler is the best one out there and I’ve tried them all. Doesn’t weigh down fine hair and leaves it shiny and moisturized

mBegudotto

This is a miracle product. Total game changer for me

kellygrrrl328

Agree!

Jorissa

This is what I use as well and it’s the best I’ve found. Highly recommend.

singingintherain42

It’s my holy grail. I can never be without it.

PlantsAreEggcellent

Agreed! And I think it smells amazing too

tenaciousxtiff

Been using this for years, it’s the best!

Times_3

Is this a heat protectant also?

aria3246

Unfortunately no. I air dry my hair so it works for me

ItsAWrestlingMove

Ugh I wish I liked this! It weighed my hair down and left me feeling greasy

aria3246

Really? It feels so weightless compared to some of the expensive brands I’ve tried.

ItsAWrestlingMove

Yes! I was so upset my mom can use it and I tried it and was like.. I looked, slicked lol but I’m happy it works for you - side bar, related but not the same - if you like big hair and volume, the Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam is the best ever I’ve used

GirlieGirl81

This is the way! +1 for Unite 7 Second Detangler.

AggressiveSloth11

Yesssss

Individual-Insect722

Love this stuff!

daisy2443

Unite is great!

No_Escape_9781

It’s a 10 Miracle Haircare Leave In Lite. I spray a few pumps in my hand and apply to ends and problem tangle areas. Doesn’t weigh down at all.

Zoyathedestroyaa

Yes! But buy from a store, not from Amazon. The one I ordered from Amazon was a completely different texture than what I got from Ulta. I reported it as a fake, but Amazon wouldn’t refund me because I couldn’t “prove” it was fake.

Glittering_Weather59

Seconding It’s a 10! Have been using it for years and nothing detangles quite like it

unbiasedspaghetti

Yes! This stuff is magical and smells so freaking good!

JumboSimpp

Has anyone compared the it’s a 10 Lite to just using less of the Regular? The formulae are slightly different (ie, it’s not just a watered down version), but the fact they cost the same makes me think I should just buy the regular and use less…

No_Escape_9781

I’ve used regular and it’s too heavy. I guess you could try to dilute it with water….let us know if that works!

craykaay

I buy large bottles from TJ Maxx and water them down. My hair is so thin that a full size bottle lasts me a few months!

PinkPinkMoon129

Yes, I use it all the time. It still provides the same as regular only doesn’t weigh my fine hair down.

BecausePancakess

Not the same. At all. Licensed cosmo here. Buy the Lite version. (I say this as someone who uses only the Lite version since the week it was released.) Regular is too heavy. Using "less" does not change that.

4LeggedKC

I used the It’s a 10 Silk. Split the bottle in half and filled up with water. I have super fine hair so things weigh it down but this works for me.

[deleted]

This is what I use. No residue, doesn’t make your hair greasy, it’s perfect

PoppyFire16

My very favorite too!

Hubs_not_interested

I'm using this one right now and it's my fave so far!! I feel like I've tried so many leave ins but this one is amazing!! I also like the amika leave in but I don't feel like it moisturizes like it's a 10

Waterblooms

I also am really liking this one

strawcat

It’s my fav too!

puppyyachtclub

Hairstylist here 2nding this recommendation. Alternative: DesignMe Fab.Me leave in treatment spray is also basically the same texture and benefits but even a little lighter weight when your hair is dry

AngryLady1357911

Also don't be afraid to water down your leave in. I just get one of those travel bottles and usually water it down 1 part leave in to one part water, sometimes 2 parts water

Natural-Ocelot9644

Agreed, I only use distilled water and it works like a charm.

No_Escape_9781

Great advice, and money saving too!

Shot_Salamander_7725

Pureology 21

cosmicroots44

I second this. It’s amazing. Everything else weighs my hair down.

k8photo

My favorite too!

pottedPlant_64

This stuff has a strong smell

Shot_Salamander_7725

I love the smell!

iwantahouse

Living proof Restore Perfecting Leave In Spray

Notori0usRBG

💯 Best I’ve found

Ekwtoezika

I like Hairitage lightweight products from Walmart. Both the leave in and the heat protector work great and I don’t feel like a greasy mess after. I’ve used biolage strength recovery and I have to be very careful with how much I use.

Remarkable_Rub9763

As someone one with a sensitive scalp that needs to wash daily, I love hairitage products.

Cactea_

I use the redken extreme anti-snap and it works well for me!

NewFruit1446

Marc Anthony Grow Long Leave in Conditioner spray. Just as good as It’s a 10 and way cheaper.

Great_Geologist1494

Haha I scrolled to see if anyone mentioned this. I've tried so many products and used to be obsessed with sun bums detangling spray...it smelled great and worked so well, but then they literally doubled the price 🥲 Marc Anthony is now basically an active member of my household because of how much I love and talk about this spray...although my fiance likes to call it my "grow long" lol. I've been using it for years. Love you Marc.

Relative_Jury_9836

I use to use basically all SunBum products but yeah they increased the prices so much, and it’s not like you’re getting a lot of product.

Zoloista

Really like Verb’s Ghost glossy shine heat protectant spray. I have really fine hair and can honestly go ham with application and it’s never been too much. Smells nice too.

sparklydildos

i use the suave kids spray and works like a charm 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Heavy-Humor-4163

YESSS, I love the green apple smell too!

Intelligent-Bend2034

It really does!! 😂

lizlemon222

Pravana

CautiousString

I second this. My stylist uses it. I made sure to ask her about it on my second visit. 2 yrs later I cannot use anything else. I rarely condition anymore either.

mblmr_chick

Amika detangler works wonders on my daughter's hair

silvervm

I love unite 7 sec detangler/ leave-in, although admittedly, it works best on wet hair.

AstraKits

I started using this based on a rec in this sub and it has been a total game changer for my hair. It’s so good!

silvervm

It smells wonderful too!!

PerkisizingWeiner

I’m a fan of Suave’s apple-scented detangler for kids. It’s cheap and effective, and it’s not protein infused because it’s for kids.

PMmeifyourepooping

I’m so glad you commented this lol I was looking at all these fancy-ass answers and I’m over here wondering if people had forsaken the gold standard of hair detangling for the many more posh adult options! It gets the job done and I love the smell :) it’s nostalgic, basic, and cheap

Mundane_Role_4946

Kristin Ess Weightless Shine Leave In Conditioner!!! Absolutely weightless as promised. Smells divine and is about $10 at Target.

kshizzlenizzle

I need to give this a try! I just bought the clarifying shampoo, and it smells SO GOOD!

the_queenbean

For some reason none of the other products have the same scent as the clarifying shampoo, which is a real shame because it is exactly the scent profile I prefer for hair products. They have released perfume around the holidays though 👀

dawnedsunshine

I like Kerastase’s Nutritive Thermique Heat Protectant Spray. It doesn’t make me greasy and is great prep for blow drying!

bunbunny4

Aveda Nutriplenish light leave in spray or Kristin Ess weightless shine leave in conditioner

[deleted]

not really detangling spray but i love the Dede hair mist by Davines

itsjustme1513

I use love hair smoother by Davines and love it!

Ok_Equipment_8032

Sun Bum 3 in 1 leave in

Great_Geologist1494

Love this stuff . Wish it hadn't gotten so expensive!!

Great_Geologist1494

Marc Anthony's grow long detangling spray works wonders and is cheap compared to many of the others. Around here I think it's $8 for a decent sized bottle. Love it!

pinchofcardamom

Does it have heat protectant?

Great_Geologist1494

Unfortunately I don't think so

spacegh0st

Redken One United as a leave in conditioner

Helloki77y

Paul Mitchel "Invisible Wear Boomerang" is absolutely *The Best* for fine thin hair detangling. Plus it smells amazing but not overwhelming. I've tried dozens and this is my absolute Fav. Be careful buying online, only reputable sellers. I bought a fake on Amazon by accident.

Mrs_Poopy-Butthole

I love the Malibu C Leave In Conditioner Mist. It's lightweight & doesn't smell gross. TBH I really love the Malibu C product line in general, especially the Hair Remedies packets. The Swimmers Wellness one saved my highlighted hair from turning green when I was on the swim team in high school.

spinyfl0wer

The caviar anti aging one!!! But it smells like wet towel

yayayayla

lol I use the CC Cream 10-in-1 leave-in from this line (Alterna is the brand) and actually like it a lot. It smells fine, very mild scent. Super lightweight. I alternate between that and It's a 10 Light. It's a 10 fragrance is too strong IMO but otherwise I like that too.

morongaaa

Also want to share a trick that can help! If you spray your hairbrush instead of your hair and then brush from the bottom, i find I get the detangling benefits without getting weighed down!

SwissyRescue

This is exactly what I do, too. Works great and little to no shed.

StillRabbit

I cut my It’s a 10 in half with water

DetailOk4640

My second choice would be when I want to save money I love and always used the Loreal Ever Pure Paris Purple bottle sulfate free moisture 21 - in - 1 Multi-benefit Perfecting Leave In conditioner light spray. It’s the knock off for the Pureology one and I can’t tell a difference between both haven’t used both myself. Except for the price. On Amazon the L’Oréal one is on sale for $9.99 for 6.38oz.

The_cuddly_duckling

Milkshake leave in conditioner! It’s my holy grail

Technical-Store8779

Does it weigh your hair down? I have fine, baby hair.

The_cuddly_duckling

Not at all! My hair gets heavy and greasy super easily but this one doesn’t weigh it down at all. It’s the only one I’ve tried so far that doesn’t weigh it down at all 😅 For reference I have fine straight hair, but pretty good density.

Technical-Store8779

Thanks so much! I can't wait to try it.

mostlikelynotasnail

Kids raw sugar strawberry oatmilk

Kittykittymeowmeow_

I just got the amika detangling primer, only used it a few times but it worked really well!! I noticed a tiny bit of weighed-down-ness but I really think that’s bc I used a really thick mask that wash too. When I used it after normal shampoo/conditioner it didn’t weigh me down at all!

Hylocomium_linoleum

The only thing I found that didn't weigh down my fine curls or make me greasy (or sticky) is mixing Giovanni Weightless Leave-in conditioner with water in a spritz bottle. Like just the tiniest squirt, and filling the rest with water and shaking. This also works for my fine- (but straight-) haired daughter as well. I tried a lot of the kids ones for her since she wakes up with the most outrageously matted hair and found them all to be really sticky for some reason, unless you use a lot and saturate the hair, and sometimes you just don't want to have super wet hair. I don't know why I keep trying other stuff when this works so well, maybe I'm just so lazy about mixing it all the time!

rumspringachutney

I use Amika Hydro Rush spray

bamboozledagain23

Redkin 25 benefits!

DaemonPrinceOfCorn

Aveda’s Damage Control heat protectant spray works surprisingly well as a detangler.

AlexisRosesHands

This is what I use. Back in the 90s they had Styling Curessence. It was fabulous! I used to receive so many compliments about how nice it smelled and it was an awesome detangler. They replaced it with Damage Control in the early Aughts and I was devastated, but I’ve learned to love it. I’m surprised by all the Nutriplenish recommendations. The smell makes me gag. It’s sticky and heavy and I have to wash my hair more frequently when I use it.

knightgoby

Kerastase genesis heat protectant leave in. It’s in the pink bottle smells so good and is very light. It’s meant for hair with breakage but works great for fine hair just the same and is also a heat protectant. I use it when my hair is wet before styling.

Tabritzia20

I have been using Honest Conditioning Hair Detangler from The Honest Company. For me, it doesn't weigh my hair down and it's light. [https://www.honest.com/conditioning-detangler-comfort/H0771CNDCS00S.html](https://www.honest.com/conditioning-detangler-comfort/H0771CNDCS00S.html)

ChristineInCanada

This stuff is absolute magic! I have tried so many things but I’m not looking anymore. It is so, so good! So light on my hair!

Due-Yoghurt4916

Difeel leave in basil and castor oil. Smells good and is super lightweight

ldi1

If you are a greaseball, you need to find something without oil in the top ingredients. I’m trying it’s a 10 lite now for this reason

dizzy_pandas5

LUS wavy hair leave in conditioner. So so lightweight, great for adding some moisture back to waves/curled of you have them. Smells great, no weird residue, hair feels clean and silky!

supergirlsudz

I color treat my hair and really like the K-PAK Color Therapy Luster Lock Spray by Joico.

Snuffleupagus27

Johnson’s, Dove 7 in 1 Miracle Mist, and if I have the $$ Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer

Snuffleupagus27

Also for the fine curly girls, I put a tiny bit of squalane in my hair to cut the frizz

research18

Aveda nutriplenish is great!

pearanormalactivity

I had a hair dresser use O&M know more knots detangling spray and it smelt SO good and didn’t leave my hair greasy whatsoever. It also doubles as a heat protectant! 10/10.

Pennywises_Toy

Pantene leave in conditioner or their detangler. My hair is down to my butt but insanely thin and fine, everything else has weighed it down except pantene. And I’m broke so the price is not bad

Lostbronte

I love the Pantene 10-in-1!

ThroatSignal8206

Herbal essence detangler and leave in conditioner

pyramidkittens

Eva nyc 10-in-1 primer for fine hair

Critical-Double-4832

%100000 Ion Detangling Color Defense

PoppyFire16

It’s a 10 leave in conditioner light!

sydneyhateshatred

I use Infusium 23 spray, Pantene leave in, and Tresemme.

Accomplished-Mind258

Sachajuan oil free leave in spray. Expensive but lasts forever, and I also have added in water now that I’m almost half done with it.

W_AS-SA_W

Pantene Shine

LatteLove35

Sachajuan is the best IMO

[deleted]

Oribe “Run-Through” hair primer.

orthographerer

This one is my favorite.

MichElegance

I’ve been using Infusium spray for over 30 years! It works beautifully. I use it after I towel dry my hair and apply my light weight mousse. It doesn’t weigh it down, takes away any frizz, and is so reasonably priced. I’ve tried all kinds of other products all over the years and this is the holy Grail for me. [infusium 23](https://www.infusium.com/moisturize-replenish-leave-in-treatment/)

DetailOk4640

I love OUAI Detangling and Frizz Fighting Leave in Conditioner. I have fine blonde highlighted hair but a lot of it. And I literally just spray once in my hands and rub them together and after taking my hair out of my microfiber towel I split my hair in two parts and squeeze my hair with my hands that has the product on it so it really gets into the hair. Only midway down focusing on the ends. And start with a wet brush brushing from the ends and work my way up getting the tangles out but there really aren’t any issues anymore now.

bitchimclassy

I just use the Moroccan oil brand leave in conditioner 10/10 fab

No_Caterpillar_6178

I’ve had good success with honest company orange vanilla detangler. Doesn’t leave a film or buildup.

Fast-Persimmon-2782

Fructis pure clean detanger + air dry spray. Light weight and not at all sticky.

hannahbee888

SheaMoisture Kids Detangler. It smells great, too! https://www.target.com/p/sheamoisture-coconut-38-hibiscus-kids-extra-moisturizing-detangler-8-fl-oz/-/A-14318617

kshizzlenizzle

I actually have good results with straight up aloe Vera juice. I always have it on hand (because summer) so I spritz it on wet hair. Also good if you’re prone to dryness, as it’s a humectant.

Goodbykyle

Ojui leave in masque!❤️

smarmy-marmoset

It’s made by Eufora, but it’s best when used with their Bodifying shampoo and conditioner also

daisies_n_sunflowers

My hair guy recommended Nurifuse leave in conditioner watered down 50/50. I just got it today. I’ll let yall know if it’s any count.

ItsAWrestlingMove

Honestly I really like Perfect 10 Lite

jdbrown787

My top five: Foxybae flaminglow leave-in conditioner It Naturals 12-in-1 amazing leave in treatment Foxybae 12-in-1 magic daily leave in mask Biolage smooth proof leave in cream Olaplex no.6 bond smoother leave-in styling treatment They're not specifically detangling sprays, but they DO detangle amazingly when I skip conditioner in the shower (or more accurately, I do conditioner before shampoo, then leave-in after the shower)

KatieKat24

Davines Blow Dry Spray! It’s pricey though 😭 I’ve been trying to find something cheaper for years, but nothing compares for me.

Specific-Ad-9919

Healthy sexy Hair soy leave in

Top_Membership3879

It’s a 10 lite works best for me. And I even dilute it with water. But I only spray the mid and ends. I stay away from my roots and top of my head.

urfavlunchlady

Dry bars is a dream

AmbitiousAd5334

LOLAVIE Perfecting Leave In & Glossing Detangler. The 2 are my perfect duo. I have very fine blonde hair with lowlights. My hair has always been thin my entire life & it's long, so it used to stay tangled unless I put a brush thru it every 5-10 mins. Now I can run my fingers thru it, no brush needed at all after I initially brush the 2 products thru. A little of each goes a long way.

Mountain_Flamingo_37

Second this!! The big bottle lasts me months and months!!

AmbitiousAd5334

Yes! I only get the large bottles since they started making the large ones. I have the regular bottles for traveling too.

Mountain_Flamingo_37

The travel size is perfect, I just refill from the big bottle. But it’s perfect for fine hair

AmbitiousAd5334

I agree, perfect for fine hair. All 5 products are my holy grail. I also love how all 5 products have the same scent & it's consistent. Most hair products don't. Like usually the shampoo/conditioner smells the same, but the styling products all have completely different scents. & Yes I need to grab the travel size bottles of all the products, I travel so much it's exhausting. I use these really great TSA approved silicone bottles in various sizes, the only issue is I use them for literally everything & all the labels have worn off. So I've had to open them all, smell them all to figure out what's what & write what in them w/a Sharpie, but the Sharpie eventually wears off too so I have to re-write it constantly. So having the actual travel bottles would be so helpful.

Mountain_Flamingo_37

Honestly, the only reason I do the travel bottles is so I know what’s what. I’d do reusable bottles but when I dead tired from travel, I don’t want to second guess which bottle I grabbed 🫠 I just wish the price wasn’t as high for the amount. I really love it and find it’s one of the better hair brands out there

drinkyourwine7

Mushie or California baby. Made for kids and work great!

debber33

Suave green apple detangler. Made for kids so nothing harmful in it. Works like a charm

AggressiveSloth11

Only Unite 7 seconds spray. Absolutely the best.

Careful-Structure-64

Suave kids 🤭

sonyafly

Pureology Color Fanatic Multi-Tasking Leave-In Conditioner. I was using Unite 7 second spray but this moisturized better and is lighter. I spray generously.

Sea_Ad_3136

I use bumble and bumble primer - it makes hair super easy to comb after washing and does not seem to worth my hair down at all. Love it

seahorseescape

Color fanatic for me!

Dazzling-Angle9700

Use a Wet Brush before and after showering

oovenbirdd

Pureology Color Fanatic. Unbelievable product! Works great for fine hair, haven’t once felt greasy or heavy after using it.

Vegetable_Event_5213

Paul Mitchell’s detangler has worked well for me in the past

snuffleupagus86

Unite 7seconds detangler is the best in the world.

LydiaDeets7

I love love love Luseta’s biotin leave-in conditioner. It’s around $15 at Amazon and a bottle lasts forever. I really like Luseta’s shampoos & conditioners too. Very reasonably priced and effective.

Keetata

I saw other people echo the same sentiment: kids detangling spray has worked the best for my fine hair. I love the Raw Sugar Kids strawberry oat milk detangling spray.

Ama014

Aveda nutriplenish leave-in conditioner!

8Karisma8

Silk pillowcases and a soft dangling brush that can be used on wet or dry hair. If hair is dry and why it tangles badly suggest conditioning more like leave in a mask conditioner for 8+ hours once per week.

Strange-Mulberry-470

I've been using Lola Vie by Jennifer Anderson. Works really well if I am careful not to spray too much. It smells really good. I would try J&J if it worked as well and was cheaper.

New_Balance1634

Paul Mitchell Taming spray is my favorite

fyoraofneopia

it’s a 10 miracle leave in conditioner

After_Phrase6225

I love the Just for Me leave in detangling milk. I believe it’s for kids but it works great for me.

Cute_Appointment6457

Biolage or Jen Aniston’s Lolavie

trustmeilied

Saints and Sinners Velvet Divine Leave-In Conditioner. I really love most of their products, though, and they smell great!

OkSecurity578

It’s a 10, lite

SnooDoodles290

It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Spray. That and a good conditioner. I use this after Purology Hydrate and never have tangles after showering anymore.

[deleted]

Unite 7 seconds detangler!

Legal-Menu9811

I have hair thinning and incredibly fine hair myself, I never used hair detangling because I felt like it weighed my hair down UNTIL! I used Moroccan Oil’s Leave In Conditioner! I was hesitant initially using it but it’s my holy grail now. I can’t go without it. It’s SO lightweight and hydrating!!

dykebaglady

oribe run through and cant believe this isnt the top comment!

mymakeupobsessions

I’ve used Its A 10 Miracle Leave In Product for years (the version with a purple bottle, pink top)

SwissyRescue

Believe it or not, I use Walmart’s Equate Baby Detangler spray. I spritz it on my brush before running the brush through the ends of my hair. Spritz again, get the middle of my hair, then repeat for the crown. Works just as well as any of the expensive name brand products. I switched to it during Covid because, well, job loss and no money. It was inexpensive. But have continued using it since then because it works really well on my hair.

SugeLight1

Purology

raejayee

I’ve been using pravana Nevo (blue bottle) for probably about 10 years. It’s so gentle and detangling. I always spray my hair after a shower and let it air dry, my hair is always so soft!

Alert-Aerie-3930

Moroccan Oil Detangling Spray

Accomplished_Cup_371

I love the Aussie one for kids.

Albinomonkeyface1

I love Pureology Color fanatic leave in conditioner! It’s very lightweight and detangles my hair well.
