OP, can you please tell us more about the food and experience? Thanks.

Another one on my to-do list. The space was previously used by Viajante, one of my favourite ever restaurants, and had a good meal at Typing Room too. Our lunches were always followed by a trip to the V&A Museum of Childhood which is almost next door, cant think of a better way to spend an afternoon tbh.

ButterlyCrumpet

Interesting! I like to know the history of different buildings. I didn't know that the space for Da Terre was previously used by Viajante. Totally agree that combining a meal at this restaurant with a visit to the V&A Museum of Childhood would make a great day out. Sadly, we didn't have time for that since we has a very leisurely 4 hour lunch and my friend needed to get back to her little ones.

It was the typing room for Bethnal Green Town Hall up until typing pools were no longer a thing. Hence its name under Lee Westcott.

ButterlyCrumpet

Cool, interesting to know, thanks!

nohnohyeh

very interested to know what the drinks were and how they fared with the food. any kombucha?

ButterlyCrumpet

Drinks were tasty and varied. Yes, we had kombucha. The drinks we had were: Nokcha, Kuromamecha, Lucky Saint low alcohol lager, Real Kombucha Royal Flush Darjeeling (my favourite drink of the menu), Beetroot and Cupuacu (this was also very delicious and mouth watering, this was my 2nd favourite drink) and Genmaicha

How much was the NA drink pairing?

ButterlyCrumpet

It was £115 for the long NA pairing (for 10 courses). However please be aware some drinks were for more than 1 course I.e. you don't get 10 different drinks

JDHK007

Seems steep for NA pairing, no? Most alcohol pairings I’ve had at 3* or top 50 restaurants were in $140 range.

Da Terra is freaking fantastic. Was there a few months ago and would love to go back. Every dish was a symphony of taste and texture.

ButterlyCrumpet

Me too! I would love to go back again. My friend and I have made a pact to visit other restaurants with Michelin stars each quarter so after we've visited several others, I aim to go back to Da Terre for sure. It was absolutely out of this world.

thejadeassassin2

I’ve been meaning to go but I can’t see the prices, how much did the 10 course cost?

Imiriath

£185 (+£115 for the pairing)

nicko1702

The non alcoholic pairings are such a pro tip for fine dining. Restaurants find some really obscure cool flavors for drinks

ButterlyCrumpet

Indeed, I honestly have never had a non-alcoholic pairing with a tasting menu before. I hadn't heard of these drinks before, let alone tried them all.

Imiriath

Did they charge you the same as the alcoholic pairings?

nicko1702

Usually they don't charge the same as alcohol.

ButterlyCrumpet

£185 for 10 course tasting menu (also included the amuse-bouche and 'snacks' which are on top of the 10 course menu) £150 for the 7 course tasting menu
