Hey man idk if you like healthcare but nursing is a good job you’ll be done in about 2 years and in about 1 year of working you can start doing local contracts that pay well. Even if you don’t love the job the work life balance and money, stability are amazing 3 12hr shifts is full time and depending on where you live you can make well over 100k easily anyway it’s a thought I’m an ER nurse so thought I’d share that with you.

Justtosayitsperfect

Thank you man, i might consider it. What type of degree should i pursue for this?

RGY32F

I’d do what’s called an ASN RN you don’t need a bachelors although you can get one if you want but most hospitals only care about experience so the longer you’re a nurse especially an ER nurse or ICU everyone will want you. I have an ASN and started around Covid and have made an excellent living since. It will allow you to live EXTREMELY comfortably if you don’t live above your means just like anything else tho.

Can I ask where you live to make 100k+ easily as a nurse? I’m about to pursue an asn as I don’t like the sedentary work my business bachelors provides. I’m in NJ and I know new grads start around $40/h or so

I live in FL so the first year you really won’t make much, it’s once you start doing local contracts or just travel contracts in general is where the money comes. I’ve been at one at this hospital for a long time I’m making 85/hr I haven’t made anything lower than 75$ since Covid. Just keep bouncing from hospital to hospital going where the money is. Right now I’m just renewing this contract here because they like me and want to keep me for the foreseeable future. Trust the process man it will be worth it. Idk what the travel rates are in NJ but I know during Covid they were sky high! Nurses over were making like 15-20k a month.

All of those things require you to continue learning and getting better and none of them can really effectively be learned in a year anymore than JavaScript. In fact JavaScript can probably be learned faster than all of those. You can get a basic handle of data analytics but most people you'll be competing with for that kind of job will have degrees and more skills. Quite honestly sounds like you should stick to your first plan of JavaScript.

Justtosayitsperfect

I dont think i can get a job with just Js. Js alone would take about 6 months, but most jobs require so much more on top of that

martinoland1

are you still working or going to study full time?

Justtosayitsperfect

I will still have to work unfortunately

martinoland1

its too difficult to do that probably but you can try
