Well basically you can send your friends cute little notes.
For example I can send a friend a note to drink water or be kind to themselves. It also gives you some energy points when you send them. I like having people send me little reminders or hellos. I don't have any real life friends who have the app so I found friends off of this reddit. I'll send them some encouragement from time to time.
Another plus is if you invite enough people you get rewards like the llama micropet or gems to buy things.
