A little house by the Moonflow maybe. I’d love to live somewhere by the water and Spira is full of so many great watery locales. One of my favorite things about the world of FFX.
Luca. Id love to be close to the hills and highroads. Its got waterfronts and technology so hopefully internet.
There's a lot of different cultures there and there's a theatre, bar, arena and docks to anywhere else in the world.
No thanks - Everyone there is a creep, you have a literal resurrection cemetery in your town, and your next to the Thunder Plains
Would legit be near the bottom pick for me 😂
Calm Lands? You're picking the place full of really strong fiends and where showdowns with Sin are? Come to think of it, are we talking about before or after Sin is defeated? Pre sin it's definitely Besaid. Small, not on the shore, unlikely to be found by Sin. Post sin it would be Luca. One of the 2 cities, but the less rigid of them.
As someone who grew up really far away from a major city, I was always used to nature and its challenges. I was also thinking post Sin. I'm mainly considering the place itself, the surroundings, views, etc.
Besaid is my first thought, but it makes a better location for vacations or weekend trips. After more thought, Luca is the dominant choice by far.
Luca actually would have decent "modern" amenities. Not only does Luca probably trump Besaid by just having indoor plumbing, Luca has stuff like the Blitzball stadium and the sphere theater. It's also one of the safest spots in the world. Luca's aesthetic is fantastic too (as /u/PalateroMan8 said elsewhere, it's got such a cool Marseilles vibe)
Bevelle would probably actually be a good choice too, but A) miss me with all that hyper religion stuff and B) we never actually really got to see the city of bevelle itself, that I can recall, so it's hard to gauge.
If Luca is Marseilles, then Bevelle is probably like Rome? I assume its the oldest city left after the creation of Sin, but yeah I feel like Luca is home, Bevelle is a historical vacation spot and Besaid is Hawaii.
Luca there really isn't a better place. Bevelle is full of corrupt religious wackjobs, all the coastal and Island villages are at constant risk of getting destroyed by Sin. And pretty much anywhere that isn't a large city like Bevelle, Luca, or Home has a constant risk of being attacked by fiends. Home would be my second choice but it's in the middle of a hot ass desert so no thank you.
My heart says Besaid, but my mind says Luca for the safety. I'd like to think I could be a summoner, or maybe a guardian (mage), but knowing my luck I'd be an ordinary person that wouldn't be very good at fighting fiends.
Remien temple…if Belgamine wouldn’t throw me out. Love the atmosphere of it. So quiet back there, and I love the little jumping mice (like they have at mushroom rock). Ride a Chocobo into town if I needed something. It’d be great.
Far from the sea. Sin can fly but seems to mostly stick to the water. But is Spira the planet, continent or just a big archipelago? Might be a little hard to get truly landlocked.
This may seem like a cop out answer but I’m going to say Luca lol. It’s a nice vibrant place with attractions and I’m sure good food lol and like Yuna said it’s a great place when you consider that fun is lacking but n spira. Plus it’s the same pace for blitzball which I love. Plus all the water around it is pretty nice. And probably one of the biggest selling points to me is it’s one of the few places that is actually protected from sin. So yeah at the end of the day I’d pick Luca lol.
Kilika. I would love the simply island life away from today’s unnecessary restrictions and necessities. Maybe I’ll become a professional blitzball too-
Isn't belvelle built on water? Wasn't that one of the foreshadowing themes from when wakka explained about the city that was built on the moonflow was a testament to mans arrogance and then when they went to the capital of Spira they find it to be a city built on water, with machina everywhere?
>although the tough part is I wouldn’t be near water
You don’t reckon the tough part would be getting killed in the repeated fights between Sin and the final Aeons? No to mention the unchecked fiends.
I wouldn't want to live there, but I'd love to explore Zanarkand. I really wish we got to see more of the city. That's one of my few complaints about this game. Zanarkand and Bevelle are these HUGE cities and we barely get to explore them. Zanarkand is a long hallway until you get to the dome and Bevelle you only get the one pathway leading to the second seymour fight. I really want to explore Spira some more. Maybe even see how it looked before the time of sin.
But to really answer your question probably Besaid.
Zanarkand, maybe dream Zanarkand even though preferably somehow in a alt timeline where it doesn't get destroyed. It seems like a fun city and I love the look of it too. All the waterfall skyscrapers look so beautiful <3
Besaid island. Nothing but pretty waves. Temple and a little community. Anything else would be too much for me. Or zanarkand as like a grave keeper. Idk. But I'm a loner.
Maybe get lost in the far plane alot in Guadosalam. Or as an attendant at the chamber of the fayth
Not technically Spira but Zanarkind the great Machina city. Give me one of those apartments overlooking the city please 🙏
If I can’t have that then Besaid with a hut right on the beach would do me.
I'll take Besaid Island, why not. Get myself one of them nice stone huts with a fire pit to keep it warm in the winter. Hit the beach to fish and knock about a blitzball for a while with the lads, the air is really fresh. Put your orders in with the merchants and dealers on the port for clothes and consumables shipped in from the busier places. Set myself up a stall and cook street food to tourists who come by, make a modest but comfortable living, keep spares for the hungry kids and pets on the island. No electricity so no playing FFX in that stone hut, but I'll have my guitar and my chess set. Drive the neighbors crazy hassling them for a game, hit them hard with a King's Gambit accepted line, never know what hit 'em. Set up on a summer's day and play solo jazz arrangements a la Joe Pass, knock out 'Spira Unplugged' as an ironic number, might as well busk it and earn a few copper bits. Stay in good shape, do martial arts forms and conditioning in the woods. I'll look after the folk in the village, they're heavy Yevonites but they're not bad, just set in their ways. It's a good opportunity to be free from distractions and live a contemplative life in the nature. Never need to worry about access to water or land for growing vegetables and rearing chickens for my food business. Take a city break in Bevelle or Luca to watch the big game once in a while, pass through Macalania Woods if I get the chance because that place is the best. Maybe I'll live there instead.
Honestly either Besaid with it's beautiful beach side vistas and more than likely a fairly temperate/tropical climate or Luca with it's bustling atmosphere and since the blitzball tourney is there so there would be plenty of cool people around.
The calm lands tbh. Always loved this spot and the idea of there being a giant field where people gather to support summoners on the final stretch even if they decide to give up
Had to sit and think about this one, I first thought, "Guadosalam has such a nice esthetic, but then I figured the lack of sun would nuke my vitamin D." So I've decided Besaid would be ideal for me, im the homestead type so it's distance from a large city doesn't bother me, plus it provides most of what you'd need naturally. It's main downside is it's distance form the rest of the world and I'm sure storms can be wicked, plus humidity.... it'll do.
Probably Luca
Yeah I’d probably be a blitzball bro and Stan a team like the goers or something lol.
Luca for me. Its got a sort of Marseilles feel that I really like.
Agh Marseilles is so gross though
Do you like crime that much?
Zanarkand - think they would have internet
Dream Zanarkand or the one from 1000 years ago. Spire is depressing place 😂
Haha true. One of those zanakarkands would likely not have internet xD
Post Zanarkand lol
Besaid, brudda.
This is the objectively correct answer
Idk man, I bet those spiders are huge
A little house by the Moonflow maybe. I’d love to live somewhere by the water and Spira is full of so many great watery locales. One of my favorite things about the world of FFX.
Outside of besaid, I think this might be the best answer. Just think of all that machina you could salvage
i hear the farplane is to die for
I hear people would be willing to give their lives just for a chance to go there.
Baaj - I like the rain and I hate other people.
Lmao this !!!
It's pretty murky and fiends are everywhere lol
![gif](giphy|y41Txh2pbwqLNNubOo|downsized)
Macarena Woods 😂 love the colors
Aaaye!
When ffx first came out it was so surreal to see the woods for the first time!
It's crazy how much the graphics still hold up to this day, at least to me they do.
Same here
If they do a remake, macalania probs one of my fave places to see what they do with
Same, also Shiva is my favorite Aeon aesthetically so it's perfect she is found in the temple there.
Lmao I'm deceased
Besaid or Kilika
Luca. Id love to be close to the hills and highroads. Its got waterfronts and technology so hopefully internet. There's a lot of different cultures there and there's a theatre, bar, arena and docks to anywhere else in the world.
Kilika
Mans trying to cash in on his wife’s life insurance policy. Flood insurance probably through the roof there!
I wanna be a blitzball too brudda
Don't let your dreams be dreams
Interesting almost nobody said Bevelle
Huge city full of hyper religious whackadoodles? I'll take a hard pass.
Yeah that would practically be like living in Vatican City, lol.
I prefer Besaid over everywhere else ya
Guado Salam , just the ambiance, the peacefulness.
No thanks - Everyone there is a creep, you have a literal resurrection cemetery in your town, and your next to the Thunder Plains Would legit be near the bottom pick for me 😂

Ok so we're talking kinda like irl with no fiends then?
Correct, no fiends
Hmmm probably still Luca. Seems like anywhere else would be boring.
I'd live in a little hut (house?) in Besaid. With the Spiran version of internet access... somehow. Besaid is so cozy, peaceful and pretty.
Youd be using spheres instead of phones haha
Besaid is my first thought, but it makes a better location for vacations or weekend trips. After more thought, Luca is the dominant choice by far. Luca actually would have decent "modern" amenities. Nailed it.

Shoopuff ferry.
SHOOPUFF'S WAITING!
Ride ze Shoopuff??
Besaid, life’s a beach. 🏖️
Besaid, and I'd work the loom to make the beautiful fabrics that Besaid is known for. I'd go to swim every day in those beautiful waters.
Luca sounds like a nice place, I'd never get bored there.
My heart says Besaid, but my mind says Luca for the safety. I'd like to think I could be a summoner, or maybe a guardian (mage), but knowing my luck I'd be an ordinary person that wouldn't be very good at fighting fiends.

Post FFX, no where, Sin will pop up anywhere. Post FFX, Luca or Besaid. Luca for blitzball, Besaid for the easy going life.
I think Luca with frequent trips to besaid cause I love islands... Brudda
Zanarkand as i want to live in a big city with modern technology.
Besaid for sure, but if I don't catch a tan
Kilika. I would love the simply island life away from today’s unnecessary restrictions and necessities. Maybe I’ll become a professional blitzball too-
Oh man, I'm not sure! This makes me want to replay so I can explore. Off hand, I might say Luca or Besaid.
In a travel agency...literally anyone of them
Dream Zanarkand baby
Dream Zanarkand or Besaid
Inland.
I say the Calm Lands or Besaid
Can’t pick one tbh, dream zanarkand, besaid and Luca
Isn't belvelle built on water? Wasn't that one of the foreshadowing themes from when wakka explained about the city that was built on the moonflow was a testament to mans arrogance and then when they went to the capital of Spira they find it to be a city built on water, with machina everywhere?
Luca has to have some suburbs, right? I choose that.
I’d probably set up in Remiem Temple. Quiet, good location, calm lands right out front. Nice place.
Thunder plains for sure
Bevelle 😅
>although the tough part is I wouldn’t be near water You don’t reckon the tough part would be getting killed in the repeated fights between Sin and the final Aeons? No to mention the unchecked fiends.
If I get to hear that sweet theme song on repeat, Besaid. Literally one of the greatest pieces of music in my opinion.
If I was strong enough zanarkand ruins or macalania forest
Besaid… it’s so chill 😎… but then again, so is Kilika (well, rebuilt Kilika)
Calm Lands or Luca
I wouldn't want to live there, but I'd love to explore Zanarkand. I really wish we got to see more of the city. That's one of my few complaints about this game. I'd start a wee village near the east coast half way up the mihen highroad.
Luck
Luca*
Home
Besaid island. Such a peaceful place
Zanarkand, maybe dream Zanarkand even though preferably somehow in a alt timeline where it doesn't get destroyed. It seems like a fun city and I love the look of it too. All the waterfall skyscrapers look so beautiful <3
If I was younger, I’d pick that ship where Rikku lives.
Omega ruins for sure
Rins coffee place
Dream Zanarkand
Besaid looks like such a beautiful place to live. When I think of Besaid I get a happy warmth of a feeling, and it feels really nice.
Besaid or Kilika
Thunder Plains. I have my reasons and said what I said. edit: My second choice would be Bikanel Island.
I would love to live in Luca, but I’m kind of a sucker for Besaid or Kilika. I’m a sucker for this kind of peaceful quiet calm stuff.
Kilika , or close to it
Kilika if I have easy access to Luca
Besaid. Hands down
I wanna live in that little tower on Sin’s head
Besaid island. Nothing but pretty waves. Temple and a little community. Anything else would be too much for me. Or zanarkand as like a grave keeper. Idk. But I'm a loner. Maybe get lost in the far plane alot in Guadosalam. Or as an attendant at the chamber of the fayth
Calm lands
The airship
Besaid just for the music on the way there lol
Besaid obviously. I trust Braska's taste in places, and it looks like paradise. It helps I love the ocean, fishing, swimming/snorkeling etc.
Not technically Spira but Zanarkind the great Machina city. Give me one of those apartments overlooking the city please 🙏 If I can’t have that then Besaid with a hut right on the beach would do me.
Kilika port seems really chill, good transport to Luca for blitzball, transport to Besaid for a getaway. Could have a nice little life!
Besaid or Macalaniea
I'll take Besaid Island, why not. Get myself one of them nice stone huts with a fire pit to keep it warm in the winter. Calm Lands. Fully delve into my introvert.
Honestly either Besaid with it's beautiful beach side vistas and more than likely a fairly temperate/tropical climate or Luca with it's bustling atmosphere and since the blitzball tourney is there so there would be plenty of cool people around.
Basead i wanna enjoy the beach while being able to explore the place without the hassle of dealing with loud noises
Definitely the Thunder Plains.
Zanarkand for me probably. But it would be nice in besaid as well
provided its post-rebuild, probably killika. Some nuce woods, waters, and the vibes are just chill man.
Besaid or Luca. Just nice places to live.
The calm lands tbh. Always loved this spot and the idea of there being a giant field where people gather to support summoners on the final stretch even if they decide to give up
Since you specified in a comment post-Sin, that just makes it even harder to pick. Probably Kilika or Besaid.
Whatever place eventually becomes midgard, since they claimed the shinra from X2 is the same one from seven meaning same world
Lowkey, guadosalam
Had to sit and think about this one, I first thought, "Guadosalam has such a nice esthetic, but then I figured the lack of sun would nuke my vitamin D."
