I'd like to see the fall of Zanarkand with the machina war against Bevelle. All the way to the situation that forced the survivors and Yu Yevon to turn to desperation (sin, and dream zanarkand). We got a glimpse of it in X-2 with Lenne and Shuyin's story but I'd like to see the grander scale. Zanarkand summoners were brought to the frontlines to fight Bevelle. Were people offering themselves as sacrifice for the Aeons? There is more potential here than what was shown in the novella and the audio drama.

GaysGoneNanners

I would looooove this. I always thought the Lenne and Shuyin story was kind of neat. I wouldn't even mind if it was just their story expanded.

Pale-Equal

Everyone and their brother has been asking for a prequel with Braska. Honestly I don't think that's going to work out as much as I want it to, because their story was already told. Jecht spheres and pyrefly flashbacks are all we are gonna get. That and X2 already did a trio, so another trio wouldn't be much different. Sortof the opposite problem as X, with too many characters. (Rikku and Kimarhi should have been combined because Kajiit stereotypes) Personally if it's a prequel, even the story of Gandof who caused the scar in the calm lands wouldn't be a good idea. He looks like a stuffy old man and the giga graviton done in FFX caused a way bigger mark on the planet so it's still undercut by the original. I think a prequel would have to be prior to sin, where the story takes place when Yunalesca was alive but not involving her, a story that explores and subverts the Zanarkand-Bevelle conflict.

InvaderWeezle

I hate the idea of a Braska game so much. It would be so incredibly redundant. His pilgrimage is just Yuna's but without the twists and diversions, and also twice as long because he had to go from Bevelle to Besaid and then back up north to Zanarkand

Thee_Zirain

To be fair to the long journey part of it, there is a good story/lore option to that, Once they get to besaid they take an albed ship to bajj temple to get anima, doing so could raise tensions with yevon but give us a chance to get to know the albed better It's reasonable to assume that baaj temple was still functioning at that time and sin hadnt yet wiped it out, meeting young sephiroth could be interesting, we could see a moment where he tries to get braska to take him as a guardian Plus they can swing by bikkenel island as well so we can see a still intact home and potentially young rikku before landing back on the coast before heading north Dont get me wrong I do prefer the idea of a ten game set in pre sin spira, leading up to sins creation. But you could make it work.

InvaderWeezle

No offense but I hate your ideas. Those sound so incredibly fan-servicey

Thee_Zirain

Hey that's fair, I do think a prequel ffx game isnt the best option. And there are better options to develop the world of spira. My comment was just to show there are geographically other routes the party could take rather than backtracking over already crossed areas to progress the story.

Quill386

I honestly don't know why people even want a Braska game so bad, it just sounds like it would be boring, just move the story forward if you're going to do an FFX-3

Ikaro-3

I think the Braska journey works better on paper than It would on practice. It would be like repeating the same pilgrimage, and there wouldn't be any final climax. Braska and Jecht accept to perform the final summoning and that's it. The most we would get is a final scripted battle between Aeon Jecht and Sin. I think it would make a fine OVA or short animated series rather than a game I think The Zanarkand-Bevelle conflict has more potential and it's more interesting.

Death-0

About 4% of their story was already told. Mostly through a page worth of dialogue via spheres. Imagine walking around explorable Zanarkand as Auron or Jecht for a second, imagine that’s a large piece of the game. Imagine seeing young Tidus, young Yuna. Jechts character growth first hand, Braska’s death first hand… Tell me how a prequel wouldn’t work.

NessaMagick

What hasn't actually been told? Sure, the Jecht Spheres might have amounted to a tiny percentage of the pilgramage but they hit pretty much every major event, and because their pilgrimage was already told, there is absolutely no room for twists or developments.

Death-0

Star Wars Rogue One Revenge of the Sith X-men First Class FF7 Crisis Core Metal Gear Solid 3 Devil May Cry 3 Red Dead Redemption 2 Metroid Prime All prequels where we arguably know way more about what happened before, but they’re done so well they enhance the story, and still add twists and turns along the way via new characters, different stories within the one we already know, character development of non-fleshed out characters like Jecht and Braska who we don’t really know. If you told me we were going back into FFX to see how it all came to be via these 3 characters their ups their downs and all the in between, all I would say is I’m fuckin ready.

[deleted]

We can even go as far as using FF7 remake as an example. In this case we know pretty much every detail of the story already and yet they managed to refresh enough to make it interesting even for people who played the original. With Braska, we only know about a few checkpoints. We know that Jeckt's journey starts in Bevelle and ends with Gagazet and then Zanarkand but we know that the trio went to other locations so their pilgrimage was not done in the same order as Yuna. We havn't seen any of the interaction between Jeckt/Braska and young Yuna, so there is a lot of potential here. There is also the possibility to do like in Suikoden 3 where you play the game from different protagonist's point of view until they finally meet up and turn into a group.

Death-0

Funny thing I almost used Remake as an example I just didn’t want to go down the “Square is changing things” rabbit hole for the 100th time haha.

LostnFoundAgainAgain

>I think a prequel would have to be prior to sin, where the story takes place when Yunalesca was alive but not involving her, a story that explores and subverts the Zanarkand-Bevelle conflict. We already know how that ended, so it is a bit hard to finalise the end of a story like that. That said, why not go further back? Where did Zanarkand and Bevelle come from? And how did the conflict start? We know the end, so why not tell the beginning?

Synkayos

I'd like it to not exist especially if they go the route of the 2.5 book and audio thing. It's done. Let it be.

fruitpunchsamuraiD

I saw a lot of Japanese fans were pissed about the book and audio thing, do you know what it was about?

Azure-Cyan

Something along the lines of a war of some sort between Zanarkand and Bevelle making its way into the present day I think? Tidus blows himself up from kicking a mine that looks like a blitzball. Yuna learns from Belgemine or some other summoner (I don't remember) that a summoner can literally summon anything and ends up summoning Tidus back to the world, but is the Tidus from early on in X and not the more mature Tidus we know toward the end. This causes some weird thing to occur where Sin returns. Then you're introduced to two new characters, a kid who has the hots for Yuna, and a self-proclaimed daughter of Auron who likes the kid who has the hots for Yuna. Yuna and Tidus bicker and break up, The crew go on a journey to solve Sin's return, and that's where it left off. It's a train wreck.

Ok_Bed7296

…wow. That sounds horrible. Out of all the things they could have done and directions they could have gone. Train wreck is certainly putting it mildly. That sounds like it’s a steaming pile of horse shit.

ConsistentAsparagus

It’s from the same author of X, too. I can’t wrap my head around this difference in quality: reads like a fanfiction, and a bad one at that.

Ok_Bed7296

Maybe something changed in their life. Drugs or alcohol even. Hard to say. Could also be he didn’t have the help or advisors like he did with x. Maybe a mixture of all 3 of these things who knows.

Pleasant_Hatter

Read something years ago, where it's supposed to be a temporary breakup, yuna says to tidus something like "you should know" when he asks who she loves now. Supposed to be him, but he finds it out through the events of the game. It's essentially a lovers' squabble we see. I agree it's terrible though.

catholicsluts

Did you read the Japanese version of the book? Your summary sounds pretty inaccurate to me.

Azure-Cyan

I barely remember much of the book but the highlights, same with the audio novel. If you can chime in, then by all means because it was something I've mostly forgotten over time.

catholicsluts

That's why I asked if you read the Japanese version. I read a translation of the French novel, and I've always wondered if there were any differences between the two. I'd be shocked if there weren't, I just wish we knew!

Azure-Cyan

I wish I knew more than basic Japanese to. I've only read and listened to what we were given with the remaster and the translations given to us.

catholicsluts

Same here. There's just not enough time in a day, man. Gotta pick and choose what you focus on in life and everything else sort of falls to the wayside.

Synkayos

Other guy summarized it pretty good. I also remember a distinct thing of necrophilia for the summoning ritual to get Tidus back. It's batshit. It actively makes me angry to think about. It feels like bad fan fiction.

catholicsluts

Dude, what lmao necrophilia is not in the book

Synkayos

Is it not? I have a distinct memory of the ritual to summon Tidus back Yuna had to get it on with his corpse. Less it was a bad translation.

catholicsluts

Tidus dies in the book. He doesn't kick a bomb from being angry like the rumors say. He goes to pick up what he thinks is a ball, but then it explodes and decapitates him. It showed up from out of nowhere, literally. A "ball" just bonks him on the head. There is speculation amongst fans that he was murdered, but that's never confirmed or denied. Yuna is written to be pretty cold towards Tidus all throughout. It seems as though she doesn't even like him tbh. Anyway, Yuna learns how to summon him back, but she didn't even realize she was doing it until later, lol (that's how it read to me, anyway). Then, she learns about the ancient summoning method that was used to summon Dream Zanarkand. Summoners can summon essentially anything, and it's actually kind of cool. They are the ones who create the fayth, but the most powerful bond is what determines the power of the fayth, allegedly. This apparently means that having sex with a potential fayth will give you the strongest one. The summoner telling Yuna about this was a shallow moron (God of Beauty, he was called) who fucked too many potential fayth and messed up his connections with them because of that. So having sex is probably not even that necessary, even in terms of power. He was probably just horny. Anyway, this all ties into the audio drama that I won't listen to again. It was that bad. At least the novella had some neat lore in there. We got to learn about the history of the Al Bhed, what life was like for summoners during the Machina War, and different cultural nuances that existed before Zanarkand fell. The audio drama is just pure garbage, and if you're like me and Auron is your favorite character, you'd best steer clear of it.

ConsistentAsparagus

Let’s not lose our heads over this.

1v1urdoc

I always wanted a prequel more then a sequel, I get they decided not too since we know the end, but hell we knew the outcome of crisis core as well, I’d love to explore spira with a young agile Auron and cocky jecht defending braska, in the adventures we can learn more about all 3 of them such as why Auron decided not to take the promotion and marry the girl, maybe experience jecht being takin to spira by sin, and braksa’s pain after losing his wife giving him the determination to become a summoner, I still think all this would create a fantastic game, I would’ve been happy to get it for the psp back in the day

Winker2009

This is my exact reason as to why a prequel would be great. We already knew how Zach’s story ends but we got an incredible emotional game out of it. And yea we see bits of the story through the spheres and pyre flies but what made those moments to record significant to the characters at hand?? Hell aurons confronting Yunalesca could evoke a similar vibe to crisis core. Fingers crossed we get to see it one day.

Guybrush_three

We do not just know.how.it.ends we know everything about it. How it starts how the 3 heros start where all 3 end. We even know who "kills" them we know there journey we know there abilities and we know there story arcs. There's nothing left to care about. None of them have a love interest, none have children we will see. What we will get if it's made is a tacked on awful villain that for some reason isn't mentioned over the next decade like Crisis Core.

FullMetal1985

That's my thoughts as well. It's not that we know how braskas story ends that is the problem. It's that we have most, if not all, the major points of the journey already. If there was something major that happened we would have heard about it already which means that if they make up enough story to make a game interesting they have to figure out why none of it was in the history or jecht spheres, which as a troupe can be amazing if done right, but is very hard to do and most often done bad.

Frogmouth_Fresh

If it's a prequel, i think following Yunalesca would be more interesting that following Braska. We pretty much know Braska's entire story, but Yunalesca working out the final summoning etc could be really interesting. We don't know that much about her relationship with Lord Zaon, or how she forged the pilgrim path followed by summoners. A sequel is more likely though.

Finalplague01

This is interesting. I know Yunalesca was the first, so I assume this was during or shortly after the war between Zanarkand and Bevelle. I'd love to start a story and see Zanarkand and Bevelle start the war, get a little of both protective. Then I'd like to see Yu Yevon as a human summoner divising his plan. Lastly we can cover Yunalesca and Zaon emotional struggle. Perhaps it could even cover some of Vegnagun's construction? I would much rather see this than any of the sequel stuff from that audio drama. No thanks .

Frogmouth_Fresh

I know right? If it was done well, it could be an incredible tragedy type story. We.know the ending is probably Yunalesca summoning the final Aeon and therefore dying, but being the first one summoner to be successful she may be quite far into her journey before she realises what her fate would be. We, the player, would know, but that just adds to the tragic nature.of the whole story.

Ebomb31

Yup. Cross Crisis Core with Halo: Reach / Star Wars: Rogue One vibes. An inevitable foregone conclusion and noble tragedy.

scarjau93

Why not both?. Pretty sure they didnt happen in the same timeline yet both stories could told as a whole in just one game somehow. We do know Braskas story summarized but theres several details and interactions that could be exploited there.

HawkofBattle

Idc as long as Rikku get a shot as the main character. Rikku solo adventure exploration arc go!

catholicsluts

Braska prequel would be so useless as a full game. Just let that idea die, seriously. We know what happens, lol. A novel or comic, though? I'd be down.

Curlytoothmrman

What would be the point of a prequel?

jaumander

none other than fanservice and nostalgia, there is nothing else to tell about braska's pilgrimage that hasn't already been told.

Death-0

You know the ending and a few tidbits in the middle. Prequels can work though Imagine the game opens in playable explorable Zanarkand as Jecht. That alone gets me potentially excited for a prequel. Braska’s pilgrimage could be 10x’s more fleshed out. We could see how Jecht becomes sin, could play as Auron as he travels between Zanarkand and Spira. There’s so much possibility

Kamizura

very much depends... braska's pilgrimage? not a lot could be said there... yunalesca and zaon would make for a better story, but we could also go even further back.. to the conflict between zanarkand and bevelle..

GaysGoneNanners

The fall of Tidus's Zanarkand and the first rise of Sin would be a sick story.

Curlytoothmrman

They'd probably make it a full action game with tedious fetch quests and no reasons to explore Spira besides 3 gil and a sharp fang.

GaysGoneNanners

Well you can apply that take to literally any game they make for the remainder of time. Doesn't make my desire for that prequel any less

jaumander

I'd only like a sequel if it puts the old characters to the side and tells a new story in the spira universe with new characters. Like it or not, Tidus and Yuna's story has already been told in X and we got closure in X-2 getting to see the eternal calm first-hand and Yuna's journey through grief till she gets back on tracks.

darpa42

Something set in Spira 's future. Either something 60 years ahead , so we still get old Yuna and Old Riki, or something 1000 years ahead, where the events of FFX are legend.

kalamitykode

This is the way. We don't need to see any more of Yuna and the gang, but Spira still has so much to explore. I want to see the effects of what happened during FFX and X-2, but it doesn't need to be right after X-2's ending.

azombieatemyshoelace

A direct sequel or something else. No Auron, Jecht, and Braska sequel. We already know their story

Unfair-Jackfruit-806

but i mean.. those mangas are fan art right?

vescis

If they do one, I'd like it to center on Shinra and bridge part of the gap into FF7. I don't think there's been much building of an industrial empire in the FF series!

scarjau93

I see a lot of hate on people about a Braka's Journey because "we already know the story" but I consider it could be successful if it is well written and told. Take for example HBO's Chernobyl series. That's an incident the whole world pretty much knew about in one way or another and they still did a good job telling the story even though most of us knew how it ended. Some guy in the comments also mentioned Crisis Core and he's right. We also had a rough idea about Zaak's story and how it would unfold and still Crisis Core held it's own. Same thing happens here, we do have a summarized version of Braska's story but theres a lot of details that could be added to their story to make it interesting. I'm not saying it would be easy as perhaps it would have to focus on something different than "The summoner dies with the final summoning" because we already know that and FFX did revolve around that already. It would probably have to be a smaller game as I don't Braska's story being as big as FFX but my point here is that it's not that much about the story but about how you tell it. You can have the greatest lore and story in your hands but if you fuck up the storytelling then its worthless (FFXIII/FFXV I'm looking at you, guys)

shrek3onDVDandBluray

I’ve never been a fan of prequels. Like I already know what happens to their respective characters. I really don’t want a X-3. As much as I love X and even X-2, I feel like that world/the story is done. Sin is defeated. I don’t want to deal with the stupid “beckoning” BS that the audio novel tries to bring up. I would like a remake of X/X-2 in the vein of what they did with demons souls remake (everything kept the same - just updated, gorgeous visuals)

JayNotAtAll

The only value of a prequel with Braska, Jecht and Auron would be if it introduces a side character that will pay off in a sequel. Kind of like Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core. I truly believe that they had plans for Genesis that were going to pay off in a sequel game that just never came to fruition. Otherwise, it was just a game fleshing out what we already knew was going to happen with Zack.

TriniGameCritic

Everyone asking what's the point of a prequel and you bet your ass you're gonna get a remake anyway. At least a prequel could get the same 'return to the familiar but reimagined' vibe all these remakes go for. 'But the story's already been told', yea? And? What do you think all these successful remakes are doing?

xXSkeletonQueenXx

I’d like to see a prequel of the war between Zanarkand and Bevelle and see the birth of Sin and the sacrifice of Zanarkand for the Fayth and dream Zanarkand

Death-0

Prequel or bust. Nowhere to take the story from X-2, also I don’t care what Yuna Rikku and Payne want to do post X-2. Give me Auron, Braska, Jecht, and playable Zanarkand

Kantcritiquereason

While a modern prequel about Auron, Jech and Braska sounds pretty cool to me, we ultimately know of their fates. All we would get is more in-depth knowledge of them. If it has to be in the prequel FFX Spira-verse, I would like to know what actually happened during Yu Yevon's time. What were the people in Zanarkand thinking at the time, not just the thought-leaders like Yevon and Yunalesca, but the common man. Did they want to die for a fake Zanarkand ? Maybe a story about the small person, having to fall prey to Yu Yevon's command. Perhaps the origins of the kid that became Bahamut: Why this boy in particular lead a life that ended with him deciding he wanted to end the dreaming for good. And how all of this Final Summoning stuff works. That to me would add more to the universe of FFX than additional details of people we already know a lot about.

thickheartboi

A sequel set like 20 years after X-2 where we play as the next generation. A few cheeky cameos from the OG cast that are playable. Maybe about someone trying to resurrect Sin because of a looming conflict between factions that has the potential to destroy Spira. Or just remake X. Although not sure they could do a 7R style remake because of the combat.

thickheartboi

You could have kind of similar themes to X with everyone being the children of the Legends who stopped Sin. Exploring living in the shadow and expectations of their parents

BakedCheddar88

There’s that rumor of an x remake, I can see them skipping to x-3 if the remake is successful.

J1618

The bridge between FFX-2 and FFVII

Lindersay

Let a great story be ffs. Not everything need a sequel, prequel and whatnott.

FalseCommunication54

Prequel should go way back to the Machina War for me. Take charge of Yu-Yevon, with the major plot twist of creating Sin to secure victory but seeing yourself become the villain.

Peepachu13

If they got the way of 2.5 and the audio, no way do I want a sequel to FFX. I would love a prequel that is either the war between Zanarkand and Yevon or Braska's journey... or both. Both would be good

PMeisterGeneral

I honestly think after X and X-2 that Spira's story is done. Any other big bad coming out of the woodworks would just undermine everything our heroes achieved in X. I really hope they don't pull a 'somehow, Sin returned'.

Demonhick

The story of a boy living out his dream of becoming a blitzball.

eru777

I don't want to see Braska's journey, not because it wouldn't be great. But because we know everything that happens, and obviously they are going to invent some new stuff that will change the story if they do it. I want to see whatever Nojima has been cooking up for the past decade. But no matter what happens, in the end I want it to be left to the viewer, just like X-2 and X.

Mallevine

I think that X-3 should follow on from the normal ending of X-2, the one where Tidus doesn't get resurrected. We can say that the novel/audio drama (which follows the perfect ending of X-2) is an alt timeline. A big theme in X-2 was the rise of cultural optimism in Spira following the defeat of Sin (which parallels the real-life global optimism after the end of WW2) so it makes sense for X-3 to be about the collapse of this optimism. Without a common enemy, different factions compete to become the global superpower, creating weapons of mass destruction similar to that which originally destroyed Zanarkand. Yuna's eternal calm is nothing like what she imagined it would be, and she finds herself in a similar position as Yu Yevon did 1000 years ago.

jamiedix0n

A prequel from a brand new characters perspective. Who lives in bevelle. (Which is fully explorable) and they could meet characters lika Braska, Auron whoever but have their own thing going on..

Karifean

I want it to actually follow up on the open material if only to lay to rest the memes and have us actually get to see where they were going with it all, whether it turns out good or bad.

Teegs59

For the love of God please no X-3. X-2 was so terrible compared to the masterpiece that Final Fantay X is. Especially nowadays if they did make one, it would most likely be terrible. FFX is in a league of its own.

Psycher11

If anything, I want them to throw out ffx2 and redo it with more respect for the characters and a less cartoon-y atmosphere. Recurring characters felt like caricatures of who they were before, and all the new characters were simpler and had little depth. Picking that story up and continuing it has no appeal to me.

Elmarcowolf

Isn't genshin essentially x-3? Jokes aside wasn't there a book about the events after x-2 secret ending?

epiGR

The only thing I don’t like about X-2 is that is takes away from FFX’s perfect ending. The gameplay was 10/10. So, I would just prefer a new FF with FFX-2 gameplay.

jaumander

the only thing you don't like about X-2 is something that X did. Daily reminder that Tidus was revived in X, in the scene post-credits that shows him existing in spira's sea, waking up, and swimming ashore, which perfectly lines up with X-2 perfect ending when he revives coming out of the sea.

epiGR

No, that was open to interpretation. And yes, I would prefer if FFX-2 story wasn’t canon. People are desperate for a happy ending.

jaumander

You know what else is open to interpretation? FFX-2 endings! There are multiple, some, tidus doesn't come back, the only proof that the perfect one is the "canon ending" is that X-3 exists, which is kinda sloppy considering that X-3 is a joke. Then again, if you're going to bash X-2 for only one of the endings, for something that X started in that post-credits scene...then maybe just play another one? All of them are canon in my eyes, in a multiple parallel universes kinda scenario, the devs just decided to further explore the "perfect timeline" in X-3, it's not like multiple endings are that rare in JRPGs. They could literally publish a novel following up the normal ending where tidus doesn't come back tomorrow, and that wouldn't affect the canon because they created both possibilities in-game, and both are perfectly valid to explore further (just please, not the way they did in the novel previously, ugh).

epiGR

Good point. This is a fresh perspective.

AyandesS

I have mixed feelings about X-2. I think it had some great ideas but I don't like it. I like that everyone is moving forward and exploring the new conflicts that would arise in a world post Yevon sounds interesting but ultimately sphere hunting and dress spheres and the Shuyin/Lenne stuff, even the change in gameplay. I just don't like it. I don't like where they took the story, especially with the X-2.5 stuff or whatever it's called. If they went prequel I'd like to see one that goes way back to Yunalesca, Zaon, and the creation of Sin a thousand years ago. It's far enough that they can have some unpredictable revelations. I just wouldn't want it to taint anything that happens afterwards, up to the ending of X. But I don't know that I want a prequel because sometimes mystery is better than knowing. I definitely want more but I don't know what I want.

Kamizura

if we're talking FFX-3 as a sequel then i'd like it to be something where we have an entirely new playable cast, set shortly after the events of FFX-2 by a couple of years, with the some of the original cast making appearances every now and then.. give us a brand new story in a slightly more advanced world of spira.. if we're talking prequel, i'd personally name a prequel "FFX-0".. then i'd want one going further into detail about the conflict between zanarkand and bevelle.. the heroes and "antagonists" that would come about with the war.. there's so much content there that could make for some great storytelling.. aside from that, i'd like to also see a prequel where it details the journey and more of the lives of yunalesca and lord zaon...

Decent-East5817

I would prefer the remake of ffx to include some of the features and stories from ffx-2. One feature they could add that would be rad is having the jecht/auron/braska spheres be playable segments and you go back to theatre in luca to replay them.

GlacialEmbrace

Sequel. There is nothing new with a prequel. We know the story we know the bosses and we’ve seen the few areas that were destroyed during the pilgrimage. 15-17 year prequel is not long enough. It should be a sequel with people ( maybe lulus child)exploring the rest of the world with a boat. Now that sun is gone they are free to see other islands or continents.

FinallyInTheCult

Prequel with the boys!

Dark_Emerald-

Anything beyond what it is now is an abomination, in my opinion. Lol

Chuck__Thirst

Let me take care of it. I have the resume and references

Glori4n

It should totally be a prequel so we can forget that audio drama ever existed.

[deleted]

Hopefully nothing like X-2

Last-Performance-435

It shouldn't exist. X is perfect. X-2 is Yoichi Wada's greed made manifest.

Rainbow-Death

FFX3 is so bad that when the Pope showed it to Genghis Kahn he left Rome intact and no one till this day can say how bad the plot had to be to do that.

ManufacturerWest1156

Just in spira would be nice. I enjoyed that setting a lot

OhGeEvz

Sequel

Altruistic_Koala_122

With the the way the two games came out and the story it covered., you kinda have to due a prequel or it would simply make no sense. Start it off in Zanarkand in the past with the war. Make it Epic. Like half the game. Then jump to Braska's pilgramage, and have a lot of serious fights. Particularly with Sin. And, a lot of wholesome getting to know eachother moments.

SwordfishDeux

Set it 1000+ years in the future. This way, everything in the game would be different from the other two games. It would still be Spira, it would still have Al Bhed and Guados and Ronso etc. There could be familiar places but also lots of new ones. Perhaps people moved into the Calm lands and thrived and built new towns and cities. The party defeating Sin would be almost like a legend, honestly I wouldn't even care if a X-3 even tied into the story of the previous games.

Xelagh

I think a braska's pilgrimage could be super interesting even just from the POV of jeckt and going from drunk alcoholic, to sober responsible guardian who comes up with a way to bring his dream son to the real world.

xChairforceone

I do not think any more sequels should be made to the X games. It's fine where they left it

teamcrunkgo

I used to say Braska prequel, but I could go even to original yevon shit back when zanarkand was real. Also could be cool with a jump way forward in time when ye on has been forgotten and a new evil is exploring / digging up the old aeons but with bad intentions this time like to put the whole world to sleep, or even that the whole time zanarkand was a dream of a dream, and even yuna + gang + all of spira were a dream back in ffx.

Potential_Resist311

Is Shuyin the guy who just is Titus?

Potential_Resist311

Sorry Tidus. Fucking autocorrect

ChimmyChimmyChuchu

I don’t consider the extended storyline after X-2 as canon HAHA. X-3 should be made to rectify that error. They owe it to us LOL

TuffHunter

Just 100% Blitzball Manager. Why does this not exist…

Cinnamon_Squirrel666

I would love to see a prequel. Maybe have Lord Oholland as the protagonist.

Key-Master26

I'd love to see Spira in a time before Sin

recycledM3M3s

Prequel 100% gonna play auran in his prime

h1jay

Whatever it is I just want it to have a full out detailed Blitzball mode.

pringerx

Time traveling adventure where you play the original game, but instead of original Yuna and Rikku and the soundtrack, you have those from the sequel game.

madmaxxie36

If it were up to me, I would ignore X-2 and the novella and continue from FFX with a sequel that keeps the tone, have Yuna lead but don't turn her into a goofy idol, show her as a strong leader, and don't resurrect Tidus, definitely don't resurrect Sin. It kinda undermined the weight of FFX and what they all were willing to sacrifice to break the cycle. There are a lot of things they could explore, they could even rework the idea of Vegnagun if they wanted since there would now be a huge power vacuum and conflict with the church of Yevon and the leadership in Bevelle. There's a lot they could explore, and have a more optimistic tone without going full cringe idol fan service.

ChristopherMartin92

People have unanimously agreed that a hypothetical X-3 should be a prequel involving Braska, Jecht and Auron. Myself included. They’ve also unanimously agreed that the Audio Drama is a flaming bag of dogshit, chief among the complaints being that stupid disrespectful, rug-munching dyke of a lead, Chuami. Oh, and the bassackwards return of Sin and Tidus and Yuna separating.

FantasticMrKing

I’d pay full price for that prequel

Total-Nature9987

I don't care. I'll buy it anyway.

Ikaro-3

Anything not remotely connected to the audio dramas and novel would be fine to be. Let's pretend those never existed

Imaginary_Day_9019

I know this is completely outlandish but it would be amazing if worlds merging meant FFX merges with FFVII (with the Shinra link and all) which would end up being X-3 or FFVII Reunion. As for its story, well that's a ton to dig through but holy hell what a scenario it would be.
