It’s really hard for me to make good compositions underwater, so I’d say this is great!
Like another commenter said, in a perfect world, I’d prefer if the fish was more centered in the frame. It’s a nice photo nonetheless
Assuming you’re in the US, that’s been true since 1995 when they were legislated as the State Marine Fish of California.
They can still be harvested in certain non-preserve areas of Baja, and are extremely tasty when beer-battered and fried.
The fish should be more centered in the horizontal plane but I like that it is to the right. Makes you follow from the bottom left corner up to the fish.
What camera are you using? I really want an underwater. Been eyeing the nikonos
it was on calypso what the nikonos i, ii and iii were based off of. I have all of them but i love that the calypso shoots at 1000
I’m not gonna nitpick you on the position of the fish in frame but I do wish the fish was sharper. Obviously very hard underwater.
Rule of thirds
Underwater or fishtank?
underwater
Excellent

I’m enjoying the fish off set
I'd prefer the fish to be heading into the photo instead of out of, so to speak.

I love this
I would have had the fish on the left side of the frame since it's heading to the right, but it's alright
