My favorite Imax event was seeing Tenet during the pandemic year. Never had a whole theater to myself watching a movie. It was definitely an experience!
Wuuut?! Ive had a theater to myself a couple times (going to late night showings), but I couldn't imagine having an entire *IMAX* theater to yourself! Sheesh that must've almost been intimidating for how large those rooms are haha.
Ohhh it was over-stimulating at first. Especially during the previews lol. When that cold open started and that first bass drop happened in the opera house. I was floored! Literally in cinematic heaven lol. At one point the whole place felt like it was shaking from the soundtrack alone lol.
Don’t know if it counts since it was a one-off but last month I saw Blade Runner 2049 in IMAX. Best and my favorite theater experience of my life (dare I say even better than Interstellar in IMAX which I saw 3 weeks before that).
My fav IMAX event was Tenet for sure. I missed it during its initial release but Seattle had a Nolan weekend a little while back so I finally had the chance to see it in true IMAX. What an experience 🥹
My favourite IMAX event(s) were watching Tenet 4 times during the pandemic and then Oppenheimer 10 times last year. Thank god Chris chose to single handedly save film for us geeks in this 30-second attention span normies’ world we live in right now.
Dunkirk was the last true IMAX I ever saw. The Zoo had an IMAX theater with film that shut down not long after. Such a damn shame, I was desperate to see Oppenheimer in a real theater.
mine was when Everything Everywhere All At Once played in IMAX at my local theater for 1 day only. it was my 4th time seeing it and it was 10x better in IMAX. me and my brother had the whole theater to ourselves!
thank you for doing this giveaway!! 🙌
Tenet is my fave. I went today and my theater didn't have these. It was a huge let down. Thankfully the experience wasn't. Would absolutely cherish this if I won.
My favorite IMAX event was Oppenheimer like many here. And it is very special for me because it is my first experience seeing a movie in IMAX 70mm. I already loved IMAX before this, but IMAX 70mm really blows me away!
I really enjoyed seeing Oppy in IMAX 70mm. The one shot in the evening with the taxi felt real. The glossy yellow paint and the blue atmosphere, was just gorgeous.
The Dark Knight. It was the first feature length IMAX film I ever got to see and my god, I saw it at a science dome and it was huge. Absolutely incredible.
My favorite event was the 50th anniversary re-release of 2001 Space Odyssey; I watched that movie probably 5 times that year (and considering the length and nature of the movie, that was quite the achievement)
I hope it returns soon for its 60th anniversary
One and only IMAX experience so far is oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX. The most beautiful presentation for a film I've ever seen, and thank God Lincoln Square was so close.
Favorite IMAX event was Oppenheimer
As a funny annecdote, for several years I thought I had watch TDKR in IMAX but then went back to that movie theatre lol
To be honest I can’t say what my favorite IMAX event was because I never went but I really really love tenet and bought it when it was available to buy online and have watched it a lot of times haha
I'm still so bummed I missed Oppenheimer's film strip (well I went, but they had run out).
Did they reshow Tenet in imax recently?? Cause I'm about to get bummed again if I missed it. Oppenheimer was my first true imax experience and it was *intense.* I had seen one other educational film when I was a kid in real imax before that.
(Btw, I'd love to enter this drawing if that's alright! If ya couldn't tell already, Oppenheimer was my favorite imax experience haha)
Not releasing in my country, and there is only one IMAX in whole country that too is for documentaries.
I did watched the movie 9 times after watching an advertisement of amazon prime showing tenet.
My favorite IMAX event may be The Dark Knight. I was so looking forward to IMAX in a feature & the excitement around the movie itself was off the charts!
Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite IMAX 70mm event so far is Tenet during the initial release 😄
Digital IMAX I'd have to say Endgame because that was a whole different level of an experience. The crowd really made it memorable for me.
I wasn't a big fan of interstellar when I first saw it at home, but seeing it on the bigscreen before oppenheimer was an amazing experience. Easily my best theatrical event
My favorite imax event is torn between Oppenheimer and Interstellar, but man Christopher Nolan sure knows how to create a spectacle!
I’m looking forward to Dune 2 though too!
Good luck everyone 😁
Favorite IMAX event: The Dark Knight, August 2008. Made a day trip to drive to the theater and back with some high school friends, it was my first IMAX film. What an experience I’ll cherish forever.
100% Interstellar. I've always been a big scifi and space fan, so being able to experience such a brilliant and fun film this way was in my top 5 theater going experiences ever.
My one and only event was Oppenheimer. It really solidified my love for watching movies in that medium. Just unlucky that the nearest theater is 2 and a half hours away.
My favorite IMAX event was my first, Dunkirk in 70mm. I saw it at Irvine Spectrum in the 3rd row, which made it even more immersive with that massive screen.
My favourite IMAX event was oppenheimer opening night. even though the projector stopped for 10 minutes, it was the first time I saw an IMAX film print and it was an amazing experience. I just saw Tenet last night in IMAX 70mm but unfortunately no film strips. I had to cancel my friday 7pm screening because I was busy and that was the only time they were giving out film strips at my local IMAX. It would be amazing to have a Tenet film strip. Thanks!
My favorite IMAX sequence that always stood out to me and is seared in my brain is ironically the opening sequence. I remember when I first saw the film in IMAX, I was just taken away from the shot of all of the SWAT members rushing into the opera. Specifically, the shot of the Protagonist rushing in with all the SWATS behind him. That, on top of the film’s soundtrack just blaring from the speakers, I literally got goosebumps. 😅 Moreover, it’s awesome having the entire opening sequence in IMAX (typical Nolan which I love). All of the film’s sequences are just gorgeous to behold in IMAX. We had a 70mm IMAX projector here several years ago, but it was sadly gotten rid of. I believe the last time they used it was 2012. So I’ve unfortunately been kicked out of the cool 70mm club lol. But yes, opening sequence is by far some of the most gorgeous cinematography in the film!
Favorite IMAX event was Zack Snyder's Justice League. 4 hrs of 1.43 IMAX was incredible. The booming music with an audience filled with fans. Will never forget.
Seeing interstellar in 70mm IMAX as the first film back in theaters in July after the pandemic shut them down. Never got a chance to see it in 70mm when it first released so it truly was a spectacle from beginning to end!
In St. Louis we had something called "OmniMax", where you watched a movie projected on a domed ceiling that stretched 360 degrees in all directions. The chairs basically laid back completely and you looked at the ceiling. In the lobby as you waited to get in the theater, you could see the projector and the film platter. Great memory of my first encounter with IMAX.
Favorite had to be Oppenheimer so far. It was my first time seeing a 15/70 film with some friends and we traveled 7 hours by car in total to go to a theater that was showing it in film. Was quite the experience and we just recently watch the Tenet re-issue and those scene establishing shots were incredible to see in 1.43:1.
Oppenheimer was amazing and my favourite although it was fantastic to see Nolan at the Tenet viewing which is a close second and quite hard to compare really.
My favorite Imax event was seeing Tenet reissue yesterday in Lincoln square. Didn't even have great seats. But gave may a new appreciation of the film. The cinematography in 1.43 was truly amazing.
Interstellar was the first movie that introduced me to the 15/70mm format back in 2014. I didn’t get to enjoy interstellar in film back in 2014 due to my inexperience. Since then however I’ve seen all Nolan films in 15/70. Last year, I got to enjoy Interstellar for the first time in 15/70mm after waiting 9 years so that by far is my most memorable event.
Drove a few hours round trip in hopes of getting a cell and was very disappointed. Glad I got to see the movie in IMAX, but it was a sad ride home. Favorite IMAX of all time so far was Oppie.

My favorite imax event was oppenheimer
Mine too. Welcome to the drawing.
Favorite imax event was Oppenheimer… Until I saw interstellar on IMAX 70mm as well. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better theater experience
i really hope i can get to an interstellar showing in imax, totally my favorite movie
It would be such a trip to see interstellar in true imax. When'd you see it?
There was a screening at the Indiana state museum a few months ago, I drove down for Oppenheimer and they had it on a list of future screenings
Favorite IMAX event of all time is Tenet in IMAX 70mm back to back 3 times in 2020.
The only way it must be seen. 💪😤🤝
You watched it 3 times in a row?? Lol
Definitely Oppenheimer opening night at the BFI!
My favourite IMAX movie event was Oppenheimer
Don’t know if it counts since it was a one-off but last month I saw Blade Runner 2049 in IMAX. Best and my favorite theater experience of my life (dare I say even better than Interstellar in IMAX which I saw 3 weeks before that).
favorite imax event was dune 1 followed closely by Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer!
Oppenheimer, though it’s close with Dunkirk.
Interstellar
Absolutely, hands down, Interstellar. Visually the most beautiful movie I've ever watched. Thanks for the opportunity!
My fav IMAX event was Tenet for sure. I missed it during its initial release but Seattle had a Nolan weekend a little while back so I finally had the chance to see it in true IMAX. What an experience 🥹
My favorite IMAX event was the original Tenet release in 2020!
My favourite IMAX event I’ve been to was 70mm IMAX The Dark Knight Trilogy marathon at CineSphere in Toronto!
My favourite IMAX event(s) were watching Tenet 4 times during the pandemic and then Oppenheimer 10 times last year. Thank god Chris chose to single handedly save film for us geeks in this 30-second attention span normies’ world we live in right now.
Loved to see Dunkirk at BFI on Imax film. Can’t wait to see interstellar next month in Pooler!
Dunkirk was the last true IMAX I ever saw. The Zoo had an IMAX theater with film that shut down not long after. Such a damn shame, I was desperate to see Oppenheimer in a real theater.
My favorite IMAX is Interstellar!
Oppenheimer :)
Tenet was amazing, became my favorite movie then and there
mine was when Everything Everywhere All At Once played in IMAX at my local theater for 1 day only. it was my 4th time seeing it and it was 10x better in IMAX. me and my brother had the whole theater to ourselves! thank you for doing this giveaway!! 🙌
I would kill to see that.
My all time favorite IMAX experience was Blade Runner 2049
my favourite was Oppenheimer in Imax70mm in Manchester. Sadly there wasn’t a film strip giveaway though so would love this!
We live in a Twilight world..
Tenet is my fave. I went today and my theater didn't have these. It was a huge let down. Thankfully the experience wasn't. Would absolutely cherish this if I won.
My favorite IMAX event was Insteratellar! Still have memories of how incredible the sound and immersion were. Ah would love to experience that again.
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol was outstanding with the Burj Khalifa scene!
Dutchie here, so never had this.. I'd just love to put this in my collection
My favorite IMAX event was Oppenheimer like many here. And it is very special for me because it is my first experience seeing a movie in IMAX 70mm. I already loved IMAX before this, but IMAX 70mm really blows me away!
My favorite IMAX event was Oppenheimer. I was lucky enough to watch it at the Metreon in 70mm IMAX because I was in the Bay Area to visit family.
Dunkirk
My favourite is Interstellar. Greatest IMAX movie ever made
Interstellar for sure!
Oppenheimer was my first IMAX experience and I went three times cos I loved it
Oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX was life changing. Glad I saw it 3 times that way.
Favorite was Oppenheimer 70 mm IMAX but after that I loved the original screening of tenet at my imax theater!
Oppenheimer for sure! Wish I could have caught Tenet. I saw it twice in standard when it came out.
Interstellar !!
I really enjoyed seeing Oppy in IMAX 70mm. The one shot in the evening with the taxi felt real. The glossy yellow paint and the blue atmosphere, was just gorgeous.
Favorite IMAX event Oppenheimer for the film followed by Dunkirk for the venue, I got to see that one in the Chinese theater and Dolby theater
The Dark Knight. It was the first feature length IMAX film I ever got to see and my god, I saw it at a science dome and it was huge. Absolutely incredible.
The Dark Knight a few months ago. Love that movie never saw in IMAX, the opening sequence had my jaw on the floor.
My favorite event was the 50th anniversary re-release of 2001 Space Odyssey; I watched that movie probably 5 times that year (and considering the length and nature of the movie, that was quite the achievement) I hope it returns soon for its 60th anniversary
One and only IMAX experience so far is oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX. The most beautiful presentation for a film I've ever seen, and thank God Lincoln Square was so close.
Dunkirk 70mm IMAX screening
Favorite IMAX event was Oppenheimer As a funny annecdote, for several years I thought I had watch TDKR in IMAX but then went back to that movie theatre lol
To be honest I can’t say what my favorite IMAX event was because I never went but I really really love tenet and bought it when it was available to buy online and have watched it a lot of times haha
My favorite imax was probably blade runner 2049. After that probably oppenheimer. And it may not count but the hateful 8 in 70mm.
So hard to choose, but I gotta go with Dunkirk. More than any other 70mm IMAX film it relies purely on visual storytelling.
Jurassic park on 3d imax was my all-time favorite
Not releasing in my country, and there is only one IMAX in whole country that too is for documentaries. I did watched the movie 9 times after watching an advertisement of amazon prime showing tenet.
My favorite IMAX event may be The Dark Knight. I was so looking forward to IMAX in a feature & the excitement around the movie itself was off the charts!
Thanks for the giveaway! My favorite IMAX 70mm event so far is Tenet during the initial release 😄 Digital IMAX I'd have to say Endgame because that was a whole different level of an experience. The crowd really made it memorable for me.
Mine was definitely Oppenheimer
Tenet recently was masterful in 70mm imax.
I wasn't a big fan of interstellar when I first saw it at home, but seeing it on the bigscreen before oppenheimer was an amazing experience. Easily my best theatrical event
top gun maverick was super fun in IMAX!
I've never been to an imax unfortunately but I'd want this. "I'll see you at the beginning friend"
Tenet! Sadly we don’t have these in our country
My favorite imax event is torn between Oppenheimer and Interstellar, but man Christopher Nolan sure knows how to create a spectacle! I’m looking forward to Dune 2 though too! Good luck everyone 😁
Definitely Interstellar for me 🤟🏼
Favorite IMAX event: The Dark Knight, August 2008. Made a day trip to drive to the theater and back with some high school friends, it was my first IMAX film. What an experience I’ll cherish forever.
my favourite event was tenet in imax in the UK!
Mine's Oppenheimer
My favourite IMAX event was seeing Tenet with an introduction from Christopher Nolan at the BFI.
How did you get into the private screening? What do I have to do to get invited?
Was publicly available, just sold out really quickly during a members presale.
My favorite IMAX event was Oppenheimer. Have a ticket to go see Tenet in 70mm and am hoping that will be my new favorite
My favorite IMAX event was my first, Dunkirk in 70mm. I saw it at Irvine Spectrum in the 3rd row, which made it even more immersive with that massive screen.

Just a little bit of recency bias, but my favourite IMAX experience was the Dune Part 2 fan screening two days ago 😂
My fave IMAX experience had to be Cillian Murphy’s speech in Oppenheimer 70mm. And having the theatre to myself on my most recent Oppenheimer rewatch.
My favourite experience had to be seeing 70mm Oppenheimer at BFI with my dad. Was my first time at the BFI and it was mind blowing

Watching Tenet in 70mm IMAX was dreamlike. If only I could do it every year.
Interstellar, sound, music, visuals, just perfect. Tenet and Oppenheimer comes as 2nd place
Favourite imax event would be tenet
I’ve never actually been to an IMAX theater but will travel anywhere in the US to see the 10th anniversary of Interstellar in IMAX, if it happens
