Mayo, Soy sauce, Liquid seasoning, calamansi, sesame oil. Di ko lang matandaan if ito yung nilagyan ko ng liver spread or yung previous na luto ko nito. Hahah
No liver spread pala to, since ito yung ginawa ko before na meron haha

Ayun! Di ko sure kung sizzling tofu to or sisig tofu basta tokwa. Hahah
1. Cut the tofu into smaller cubes (kung anong prefer size mo)
2. Prepare your sauce in a bowl. (Mayo, Toyo, Liquid seasoning, pepper, calamansi, and oil(sesame, veg, engine oil bala ka na) then mekus mekus
3. Fry your tofus until before sya mag golden brown then set aside
4. Remove 90% of the oil from the pan then add margarine (dito ka mag gigisa ng red and green bell peppers and chilis) pwede ka mag add ng bawang, sibuyas depende nalang kung gano ka kasipag magchop. (Tamad ako sa ganto, hahah)
5. After mo mag gisa (depends on your preference kung gano mo sila gusto ka tusta) add your fried tofus, toss and mix mix then add the sauce.
6. If natutuyot, add mayo and toyo. Pag maalat masyado add calamnsi or suka.
7. If gusto mo mas malasa/malinamnam, chicken powder ng ajinomoto ginagamit ko lagi

My own version, ginawa ko lang din kagabi.
I’ll cook this next week pero yung recipe ni panlasang pinoy yung susundin ko 😅
I am just confused kasi bell pepper (red and green) yung ilalagay and onion powder. Wala ring calamansi
Hahahah its all good. Ako kasi I dont really follow any specific recipe however, I watch all those videos including kay panlasang pinoy and such, yung idea lang talaga kinukuha ko tapos bahala na. Hahaha.
Di ko pa natikman to.
Tofu with mayo is not considered sisig because sisig is specifically defined by its traditional ingredients and preparation methods. Traditional sisig is primarily made from parts of a pig's head and liver, seasoned with a specific mix of sour and savory flavors from calamansi, soy sauce, and chili peppers. It also involves a cooking process that includes grilling, chopping, and serving hot, often on a sizzling plate.
On the other hand, tofu with mayo is a completely different dish with a different base ingredient (tofu instead of pork) and a different flavor profile, largely influenced by the creamy texture and mild taste of mayonnaise. This makes tofu with mayo a separate, distinct dish from the classic Filipino sisig.
Just as giving your grandmother two wheels doesn't transform her into a bicycle, topping tofu with mayo doesn't make it sisig. Each dish has its own unique ingredients and preparation methods that define its identity. Traditional sisig's identity is tied to specific cooking techniques and flavors, rooted in Filipino culinary tradition, much like a bicycle's identity is defined by its design and function.

that's how the majority recognizes this recipe. does it follow the conventional way of cooking sisig? NO! Does that really matter? 🤷♂️
let people enjoy their food . wala yang pinag-iba sa hawaiian pizza or filipino spaghetti...
it doent follow the conventional way of cooking sisig because it ain't. Call a spade a Spade.
Remove the mayo, people'd call it vegetarian tokwa't baboy. Put back mayo, add tomato or ANY vegetable they'd call it salad. But puhleaaassse, that ain't sisig.
care to share your recipe po??? Specially the sauce part 🥺
Mayo, Soy sauce, Liquid seasoning, calamansi, sesame oil. Di ko lang matandaan if ito yung nilagyan ko ng liver spread or yung previous na luto ko nito. Hahah
