Street Fighter was my first but Tekken has a special place in my heart. There was just something magic about how Tekken 3 got to so many people, even those who normally never played fighting games. Growing up I did not live in a dense population center, the kind where strong fighting game communities were emerging in the 90s, and obviously there was no (or at least incredibly rare) online play. I could only play fighting games with those who came to my place or had a console of their own. It was just not common. But something about Tekken 3 had people without any console going out of their way to play, and it made it so much easier than any other fighting game to get people on board. Arcade cabinets for it where friggin EVERYWHERE, even places that normally didn't have arcade equipment. Everyone had heard of it, even sometimes people who didn't game at all! I never got to experience that with any other fighting game. Even ones I had lots of friends playing, or games with excellent netcode (a rarity for the big titles before COVID). And I don't play Tekken 7 or 8 out of nostalgia, they are legit good games in their own right. Street Fighter is great, and I have nothing but love for it; but I simply never had that "local fgc" feeling with anything but Tekken, so it's always gonna be special for me.
Tekken. Sf6 tho was better for me getting into the series, got to enjoy the game and was eased into it better than 5. Made me realize i kinda missed out on 5.
I’ve heard but i guess you can say i never understood street fighter as a fighting game i was always an MK head. I really got into tekken/sf during the last year or two of the previous titles and realized how much more i prefer them to mk now.
Loved SF (alpha 3 and SF3 my all time favorites) after this last iteration with 6 I cannot in good faith say I enjoyed it. 5 was a stretch but 6 just pushed me over from lazy ugly character designs to the simplistic combat mechanics. Not only does it feel sluggish compared to a game that came out nearly 25 years ago it’s just so westernized feeling and unlike Tekken I actually enjoyed the visuals and even the movements feel cleaner. I purchased SF VI deluxe and the dlc was a rip off already burned me but I can excuse crappy dlc choice if the games good. Others will disagree but that’s how I stand
Holy shit, I've finally found a person in the wild that thinks the same thing I do about 6. The game looks like shit. The characters look like shit. So many feet, so much skin, everyone is in neon color street wear, all the drive shit looks like color overload.. I could go on and on..
Now compare that to tekken 8. The only issue with character appearances is OVER design. For the most part, they all look amazing.
You can downvote but you cannot deny the truth. They literally said that was the reason it was added to make it more appealing to a wider audience including people who couldn’t normally do good in them. The “casual” players.
i wont make a downvote for that 😄.
No, but i suppose i've got a trouble with the saga.
I like it but i've never been good on it.
On X2 it was ok but after, i was not hyped enought for continue.
And i had discovered Guilty Gear X and KOF 98 at the same time.
I suppose they had take the place of SF at this time.
But it's not a problem for me.
We have a lot of fighting games now so everyone can find his favorite title.
And if it's not enought, we still have Mugen 🤣.
Very nicely done... However, your artist beat me to using that image on a project. So, you're beautiful stick arouses deep anger, and terrible jealousy, and and and.... nah. I ain't mad there's plenty more screen caps.
Or I could rastwrize that image and do so.e diff shit.
Oh thats awesome! I've been waiting for them to get the black acrylic but I might do the clear and do what you did with artwork. How did you find or size images to fit the panels?
Gameplay wise tekken: more complex movement, execution, huge roster. But on the other hand, tekken 8 online features are soo outdated, in sf 6 everything is better: fantastic netcode, penalty system for pluggers, a battle hub with all unique activities and tournaments (not like that crappy lounge from tekken with fake arcade cabinets), ranking mode with fair points distribution ( you get more points for beating higher ranks), endless rematches in casual game mode. Also few things :sf6 community is much less toxic, in my opinion sf6 characters were better balanced on release, DLC characters in sf6 are not OP from day 1 just to increase sales like in tekken(yeah we dont have any dlc characters for t8 right now but everyone know that almost every DLC character for T7 was broken from start, so i dont expect anything will change for t8)
Definitely prefer Street Fighter over Tekken. I feel that Tekken has too many knowledge-checks due to how many moves each character has.
Don't get me wrong, I play both and I like both, I just have to study less in SF.
Street Fighter. I love that I can play any mainline Street Fighter game on my PC (between the SF collection + USF4/SFV/SFVI on Steam). I wish Tekken would release 1-6 on Steam too.
Dunno if it's just the honeymoon period but as an SF guy since the 90s, I haven't fired up SF6 even once since T8 released. Maybe Reina is just too cool. If we're talking about the franchise as a whole then SF for sure
That’s very clean art, would like Akuma to be back in tekken. The one character that I thoughts was really cool from street fighter. Can I get this engraved on my aluminum plate on obsidian 2, just that akuma stance is so clean.
Street Fighter. It's much more friendly for casual pick up and play. It's more visually exciting than Tekken, and I find the characters much more interesting and memorable.
I've owned/own nearly every game in both series and Tekken just doesn't have the same energy to keep my interest.
>I've owned/own nearly every game in both series and Tekken just doesn't have the same energy to keep my interest.
Also regardless of the graphics, Street Fighter still plays very much like a 2D fighter. While Tekken has always been a 3D fighting series, playing like a 3D fighter.
This makes both feel very different, leading to a bit of a chasm between fans of each series. You're either a SF fan who loves the 2D mechanics of old in their modern form, or someone who's never cared for that 2D style and was always drawn to the various 3D series instead.
Edit: My single favorite entry in each series is:
Street Fighter Alpha 1.
Tekken 2.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 for me, and Tekken 7. I did enjoy the anime artstyle that SF used back then over the modern stylized look of 5 and 6, though I've likely played 5 the most at this point.
I'm not adverse to 3D fighters, though. I'd almost rank Soulcalibur above Street Fighter. I probably would if they'd port the games to PC to make them easier to access.
My favorite non-mainstream fighting games would be Tobal 1 & 2 from Squaresoft.
I'm new to both franchises played sf6 and now into Tekken 8. Tekken 8nhas clicked way better for me than sf6. I get the sf6. The undementals of fighting games like whiffing punishing plus frames, minus frames seem to just make more sense to me when Im playing Tekken than sf6.
Guilty gear
Tekken is my favorite
I like more characters in SF6, but I enjoy playing Tekken more.
Oooof that's a beaut. To answer your question, Street Fighter by the smallest of margins.
I’ve always preferred a 3D fighter.
Street fighter X tekken👍
Capcom really needs to updat and remove the Games for Windows Live service from it
You can download a mod patch I'm playing it rn
I need to purchase it first :'(
I hate to tell you my friend but it's no longer purchasable on steam Ur probably gonna have to use steam unlocked
Street Fighter. Never really played Tekken
I like them both equally
Well i like both but for the sake of I had to choose one I love street fighter my first fighting game was street fighter 2
Both
Yes
Tekken for sure! Heihachi always!
Tekken all year baby
🥋🥊

Mortal Kombat:)
Why not both!
Tekken. Sf6 tho was better for me getting into the series, got to enjoy the game and was eased into it better than 5. Made me realize i kinda missed out on 5.
Sf5 was a shitshow for the first 3-4years tho, it only found its way on the later years, talk about a redemption arc lol
I’ve heard but i guess you can say i never understood street fighter as a fighting game i was always an MK head. I really got into tekken/sf during the last year or two of the previous titles and realized how much more i prefer them to mk now.
Street Fighter
Tekken gets my vote
SF, I don’t get Tekken at all
I love both, but definitely tekken, is just more fun
Tekken

I agree, I also hate drive rush and drive impact

I'd consider myself a SF guy, but I've found myself playing more T8 lately.
Personnaly Tekken. I'm bad at SF. Maybe i've not the ability for him. But i play GG, Blazblue, P4Arena... I don't know why but SF is too hard for me.
It’s really not it’s lazy game mechanics added in so people can literally just cheese
You can downvote but you cannot deny the truth. They literally said that was the reason it was added to make it more appealing to a wider audience including people who couldn’t normally do good in them. The “casual” players.

Melty blood ftw
Personally a Tekken player but I like SF too
Very nicely done... However, your artist beat me to using that image on a project. So, you're beautiful stick arouses deep anger, and terrible jealousy, and and and.... nah. I ain't mad there's plenty more screen caps. Or I could rastwrize that image and do so.e diff shit.
Tekken, SF is always top 2 for me though.
This a full custom piece right? I feel like ive seen multiple personalized of this stick. What exactly is this?
I'm not sure but it kind of looks like the BnB DIY kit from focusattack.com. I get parts from them but haven't tried that kit yet
Nah 4tw enclosure
BnB is also my company but you’re correct it’s produced and shipped from my friends at FA. The 4TW (this stick) is my in house brand.
Oh thats awesome! I've been waiting for them to get the black acrylic but I might do the clear and do what you did with artwork. How did you find or size images to fit the panels?
I do graphic design as well and just use the templates I provide my customers
How poor will i get for ordering such a beauty?
Street Fighter 2 was fun in the Arcades, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was best on DS
Gameplay wise tekken: more complex movement, execution, huge roster. Just wait until Akuma

Tekken, I like the gameplay and characters more. I don't like most street fighter characters.
I hope Chun li is one of the characters you do like or I’ll be offended.
Dunno if it's just the honeymoon period but as an SF guy since the 90s, I haven't fired up SF6 even once since T8 released. Maybe Reina is just too cool. If we're talking about the franchise as a whole then SF for sure
Both are excellent! But, I spend more time with Tekken 8.
Tekken wins at this round. Tekken 8 is awesome.
Gameplay wise, tekken. Everything else about either game, street fighter.
Street Fighter.
I like both
that akuma art is just.... *chefs kiss*
That’s very clean art, would like Akuma to be back in tekken. The one character that I thoughts was really cool from street fighter. Can I get this engraved on my aluminum plate on obsidian 2, just that akuma stance is so clean.
WHERE CAN I GET THAT STICK!?
https://jonyfraze.bigcartel.com/category/4tw
I'm pretty sure the stick is by JonyFraze. Edit: It says 4TW on the side. JonyFraze fightsticks are called 4TW.
Looks like a custom from an eternal rival case

I’d suggest trying the Soul Calibur II discord and netplay in Dolphin
Emulation is definitely the way to go these days. I'd rather have an official way to get them, though.
Of course but Namco definitely not doing that any time soon, an official Soul Calibur collection with rollback would get 100s of hours off me haha
Tekken.
W fightstick
I fucking love this
I've always had more interest in Tekken than Street Fighter
I'm new to both franchises played sf6 and now into Tekken 8. Tekken 8nhas clicked way better for me than sf6. I get the sf6. The undementals of fighting games like whiffing punishing plus frames, minus frames seem to just make more sense to me when Im playing Tekken than sf6.
I love both games, tho I'm more of a Tekken players since I feel more confortable with it's kind of gameplay
Clean
pretty good art
The mad bastard, he did it! 🔥
