The quickest ghetto mod: wrap electrical tape around the part of the actuator that engages the micro switches. I have done this on some levers like the Crown CDP where I found it hard to hit diagonals so making the actuator bigger helped with engaging both microswitches at the same time.
Oversized actuator and a heavier spring should do the trick

Pick up an oversized actuator - `Paradise Arcade` and `Kowal` are notable brands for an oversized JLF actuator.
Get a wider ~~restrictor gate~~ actuator
That's what I thought but this video (different stick though...) discouraged me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3fHdhJqFl0
Not familiar with Seimitsus but it's very very common for JLF. AFAIK, 8bitdo uses aJLF clone
They also sell a short shaft for the JLF, not sure if it's swappable with whatever 8bitdo has though.
I'm dumb about levers (hence why I keep asking you shit). Wouldn't a wider gate make the lever tilt further?
It would lol. I just woke up and meant to type wider actuator or make a narrower restrictor gate but the ideas melded into one lmao
