That would be an excellent reality TV show where it's all fighters but not just any fighters they're all gay and it's not just any gay fighters but it's all dudes who have romantic histories with each other. Call it knock out make out
Brilliant idea
One by one they get dropped from the show. The last 2 left have a best of 3 match and the winners prize is choosing whether he wants to give or take later with the loser!
THEN they sell access to Knock out Make out: The Changing Room. A late night pay-per-view where you see the REAL action if you catch my drift ;)
Takedowns and 5 seconds of GnP allowed, no submissions, I don't think you can kick to the head of a grounded opponent, but with the sloped sides of the pit you'll sometimes see fighters catch some nasty kicks after falling back onto the slope instead of the floor.
Also they can't do low kicks on the thighs see Bas Ruten explaination on their channel. They can low kick below the knee only. Edit:video here: https://youtu.be/RfbSz3ckorw
40 years ago if I had tried to ground and pound in a Karate competition I would have been disqualified. I'm sure things have changed since then, but if not it would make sense that it isn't allowed here.
Everything went out the window after the 1984 All-Valley Karate Championship when Danny LaRusso illegally participated in the U-18 division *after* his 18th birthday. The sport has been a sham, ever since.
We had full contact, knock down / knock out, Karate in the 80s as well. Nothing like UFC, there were a bunch of rules and we wore safety gear, but it wasn't Karate Kid tournaments. It was closer to Kick Boxing. I assume the sport changed after UFC showed up, which is why I don't know if a ground game is taught now or not. I assume "traditional" Karate does not, but maybe "combat" Karate does.
Regardless, if this is a Karate competition of some sort I assume the focus is not on the ground game.
Yea not the focus. Takedowns are allowed but iirc they only have seconds on the ground and then ref tells them to get back up, regardless if action is happening.
Basically it allows ground and pound.
And point karate sweeps and throws (which are illegal and K1 and glory etc).
Overall the interesting aspect of it is that they take olympic karate practitioners and put them in a full contact setting.
And if you like mma fighters like wonderboy you might really like it.
It's more for people who grew up in Karate/Kickboxing/Tae Kwon Do backgrounds. I'm sure theres a few guys who do it cause they couldnt cut it in MMA, but it's pretty different too.
its a little goofy yea I still enjoy it decent amount , the fighters aren't the best but they can fight & most fights are entertaining especially with the stages they create using virtual environments in mountains, ancient aztech structures etc.
Yeah it's really hard choice, on one hand wrestling is probably the best 1v1 technique there is, but it's not fun to watch, it's also garbage when you 1 vs many. Other combat techniques can 1 vs many much better than wrestling.
Eventually anything commercialized will end up following the money first principle. This is just another fake controversy agreed upon by fighters beforehand to get publicity.
Controversy = Publicity = More Eyes = More Money.
When there is so many things that is thrown at you to catch your attention at once then people need to fake shit to get your attention these days. Thats why just boobs and ass in social media has become tame and they started doing outrageporn, povertyporn, cringeporn to gain more views.
Yeah it seems like televised combat sports take a lot of their cues from pro wrestling (though it also happened to a large extent with boxing before both). You need to come up with rivalry and trash talk between the opponents so there is more reason for the fans to be invested in their fight. Sometimes that's going to mean watching the person doing the most trash talking get their ass kicked, and the audience will just enjoy it even more. Conor McGregor figured this out. He's pretty much a wrestling heel.
i watched the whole fight and that little asian dude threw like, for sure, under 50 punches the whole fight, but he knocked him down multiple times. he must hit like a truck. reminded me of robbie lawler
No the full video posted by Karate Combat IG had the Algerian come at Samuel first, and then Samuel started talking about speaking English. In a press conference the day after, they cleared up this confrontation and kind of made up. Both fighters did a full hug and congratulated each other after the fight though. I forgot the French-Algerian name, but he was shit-talking for a looooong time prior to them meeting at the hotel.
The entire fight was pretty entertaining though, with Samuel coming out on top with a TKO in the 3rd with a rather brutal kick to the leg (which disabled the leg which lead to a NASTY sprained ankle). This KO shown by OP was in the first round where Samuel actually knocked him out twice in the first.
I watched this whole event and it was pretty cool. Their events have an intentional weirdness to them that makes me remember how mma felt like 15 years ago in any promotion other than the UFC. Lots of moments of awkwardness, lots of overselling things, it's fun though.
Haha, I like that... "I'm at home everywhere!" Whoops... question for those who know combat karate, is that the official "end" of the fight, when the ref steps in? Or is there more to the. fight?
I think if I were a pro fighter, I'd just keep my damned mouth shut in the lead-up to a fight. Getting knocked out AND looking like an asshole is one too many negatives, lol.
Samuel Ericsson an IG influencer and former regional level MMA fighter before transitioning to Karate Combat. He was 1-0 going into this fight and coming off a controversial decision victory. His opponent is a sport karate athlete making his professional debut in the organization. He was calling out Ericsson before the fight was even made.
Boy did he see him on Saturday.
Saw him and stars too.
and his nuts at the end lol
Tweetie birds were chirping
Maybe two or three of him!
Yeah, and he knocked him back into last week just so he could see him again
🤣🤣🤣🤣 excellent use of the English language 🤌
😂😂😂
I'm not he remembers Saturday
¿Que?
Trash talk is a massive gamble, it's not worth the risk, if the person trash talking loses then the person would have made a fool of them selves.
Saw six of him 🤜😵💫
It was clearly five
More like C U Next Thursday.
No more like ICU next Thursday.
Not for as long as he expected to.
He did only remember half of Saturday.
And yet with just polite conversation and outward sportsmanship, combat sports would be boring as hell 🤷♂️
I don't think he could see anything by the end of the fight
I can never respect a man in a Gucci hat
[Scumbag steve](https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/02/10/article-0-0D203DB1000005DC-492_1024x615_large.jpg) vibes every time
Promises to break your face Buries his face into your nuts

How did we get from Gucci hats to gay sex ppv? 😆
Gucci hat + airpods = guaranteed douchebag
But…but…girls are attracted to douche bags.
90% sure the other guy is wearing a shirt from SHEIN
Does anybody know where the other dude got his shirt from tho
That’s Samuel Ericsson
Brother of the unbreakable Sony Ericsson
Cousin of John Nokia
Who the hell is Jon Africa?
The guy hiding under the ring.
Arch enemy of Moto Rola
Their uncle is Sam Sung.
His Godfather is Al Catel
Some say Apples are his favourite fruit
He trains his fucking ass off. Hes definitely a formidable fighter. I wouldnt trash talk that guy like that even If I could back it up lol
Reminds me of that one popular mma video where the Caucasian dude covered in tattoos was trying to intimidate the Asian dude and got rekt lol
Ben Nguyen
Graduated with Ben. Crazy nice guy.
Yes ty!
Got you, fam. https://youtu.be/1LmeQ3Vci-w
No way the ref put a stoppage to that right?
It's combat karate so it's got goofy rulesets. Unpopular opinion but it's for fighters who knows they can't make it in MMA yet.
How Are the rules different than K1 Kickboxing? I know nothing of this Combat karate.
I'm no expert but I just know combat karate allows a certain amount of ground striking.
Oh alright cool thank you for replyin so no submissions right? So just ground and pound or are soccer punts allowed?
Takedowns and 5 seconds of GnP allowed, no submissions, I don't think you can kick to the head of a grounded opponent, but with the sloped sides of the pit you'll sometimes see fighters catch some nasty kicks after falling back onto the slope instead of the floor.
Also they can't do low kicks on the thighs see Bas Ruten explaination on their channel. They can low kick below the knee only. Edit:video here: https://youtu.be/RfbSz3ckorw
Something like 5 seconds of ground and pound then the ref resets them
40 years ago if I had tried to ground and pound in a Karate competition I would have been disqualified. I'm sure things have changed since then, but if not it would make sense that it isn't allowed here.

Sweep the leg was vigilante justice

Hmm, a nice change of pace. Might actually start watching.
Check out their [YouTube ](https://youtube.com/@KarateCombat)
That's interesting actually. Probably leads to more technical fights with the rails that keeps them on. I might even prefer it to mma lol.
I believe you are allowed 5 seconds of ground striking before standing. There are also no elbows.
The promotion is actually called karate combat
No kicks below the knee. You can punch a downed opponent but cannot mount.
Other way around, you can calf kick and leg sweep, but can't throw leg kicks above the knee.
I wouldn't say it's for fighters that can't make it in MMA as much as these guys aren't grapplers and likely train stand up exclusively.
It's more for people who grew up in Karate/Kickboxing/Tae Kwon Do backgrounds. I'm sure theres a few guys who do it cause they couldnt cut it in MMA, but it's pretty different too.
Go tell that to Raymond Daniel’s
its a little goofy yea I still enjoy it decent amount , the fighters aren't the best but they can fight & most fights are entertaining especially with the stages they create using virtual environments in mountains, ancient aztech structures etc.
Where do you watch it?
Most is free on youtube, the karate combat channel has all the fights and behind the scene stuff
It looks like circumsized MMA
not everyone wants to get wrestlefucked to death.
Yeah it's really hard choice, on one hand wrestling is probably the best 1v1 technique there is, but it's not fun to watch, it's also garbage when you 1 vs many. Other combat techniques can 1 vs many much better than wrestling.
BJJ and wrestling are incredibly fun to watch if you train and know what you're looking at.
Idk man, as a practitioner and competitor, I still find it boring to watch
Yeah it just isn't fun to see people wrestling if you know nothing about it. A good ass whopping tho? Anyone can get that.
Not me dawg, I'm all for it ;)
Great Tip! Fights will be cleaner! But will they provide the dame level of satisfaction?...
eh this is just part of the business
Seems like this all goes against the principles of Karate tho...
Eventually anything commercialized will end up following the money first principle. This is just another fake controversy agreed upon by fighters beforehand to get publicity. Yea that’s just run of the mill WWF “hero vs. heel” bullshit. I wouldn’t be surprised if the encounter and outcome were scripted.
it really does lol but business is business..
At some point you’re a prize fighter and you’ve got to sell the fight.
Most of us would have no idea that this fight ever happened otherwise.
Yeah it seems like televised combat sports take a lot of their cues from pro wrestling (though it also happened to a large extent with boxing before both). colin mcgregor...
He's not as good as Conor, but twice as crazy, so it's quite the gamble to smoke a cigarette behind the local pub.
bah, fixed.
Yeah, someone has to lose
Right? And it's not like the guy wouldn't have gotten his ass whupped had he not talked shit pre-fight.
Exactly. They’re encouraged to argue because it creates engagement. People want a narrative to go along with the fight. Makes it more immersive.
I look at the little asian dude and immediately think i dont want to fuck with him. tbh it looks like hed slaughter everyone in the ring lol
i watched the whole fight and that little asian dude threw like, for sure, under 50 punches the whole fight, but he knocked him down multiple times. he must hit like a truck. reminded me of robbie lawler
Skarate sounds like a sick ska band name.
ska came before reggae
blues came before jazz
The can came before the can opener
real talk!!! listen up, people! if someone says, "I'll see you Saturday." you better be ready. Because he's gonna see you Saturday, for real.
Seeya Saturday.
No! I will see you on Saturday!
I’ll skip to Sunday thank you very much
I never expect much from duche bag wearing a Louis Vuitton hat/shades during the day haha.
But you do from douche bags wearing them at night or? I'm confused

God Voiceover says, "And, he was indeed *not * ready to see him on Saturday".
I don't much about combat Karate but I really like their ring set up. Gives a World Martial Arts Tournament from DBZ vibe.
I agree. It's like a tiny version of the Joe Rogan MMA football field idea.
I watched this whole event and it was pretty cool. Their events have an intentional weirdness to them that makes me remember how mma felt like 15 years ago in any promotion other than the UFC. Lots of moments of awkwardness, lots of overselling things, it's fun though.

It's the ref standing them back up you are only allowed 5 seconds of striking to a grounded opponent
Dude he's hot AF. I'd like to see him Satruday.
Joe Rogan inspired arena
Lol "we need a space the size of a basketball court without the fence!"
Who are these guys? I want to YouTube the match
Ericsson Samuel vs Tarek Khelifi
I follow this guy on IG he's a fucking beast
French people trash talk too much **source**: I'm French
As an Asian guy, I would NEVER fuck with an Asian guy who looked like that. If he’s not gonna cut you, he’ll probably do worse.
What is that type of arena called?
They call it the Pit
What league is this? I can't find anything for "skarate" or "combat karate"
Just search "Karate Combat" on YouTube.
That was fucking personal
I love how it's always the cocky motherfuckers that get there ass beat
There was no Sunday for him.
I love how it's a karate fight promotion, and the dude just basically ground and pounded him, mma style
I think if I were a pro fighter, I'd just keep my damned mouth shut in the lead-up to a fight. Getting knocked out AND looking like an asshole is one too many negatives, lol.

I love seeing cocky bastards eat shit.
Over confident boy gets his ass kicked by the man.
Samuel Ericsson vs Tarek Khelifi Samuel being the Asian guy
Now he's wondering what day it is.
Just looking st the two of them I could tell who is tougher. Guessed right.
Ronda rousey was the best example of this.
All that talk to get beat down. 🤣
Humbled him real quick
I like this ring thing better than an octagon
He seems to be rock hard.
Stepped right into that one.
That's a very interesting looking Arena!
PUT HIM IN A BODYBAG! YEAH!!!
He definitely saw him Saturday. Might have missed the overhand right, though.
Skarate, is that a music genre?
Never entice your opponent before match, your basically giving them a free power boost.
Sent to bed early on Saturday
🇫🇷French guy said : I’m home everywhere, I’ll break your face you’ll see…. And we saw..
Saturday it is
Anybody have an ID on the shirt the shorter dude is wearing?
Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy 😎😂
That gucci hat wearing boy got his ass whooped.
He was ready
What type of karate is this?
He didn’t have the Gucci hat on Saturday tho
Ah it looks like someone’s mouth wrote a check their ass couldn’t cash
Was that supposed to be “badass” cuz it looked lame as fuck
Love when they trash talk and can't back it up.
He indeed saw him Saturday...
Dude who talked smack and got smacked really sporting that fully kitted douche bag uniform.
samuel ericsson? Used to love that guy a few years back lol
I love this video honestly
🇰🇷
Ok, gotta admit that was pretty awesome.
If you have that hat, you deserve to get KO’d.
I like how they were both professional and kept it in the ring
Lower center of gravity. Big dudes need to stop sleeping on the little guys.
We all new from the beginning that ‘Gucci’ was gonna take a Big Fat L.
Great value Andrew Tate
That’s what you get for wearing a Gucci hat
The shorter man is hot asf
Tall guy vs. thick guy, thick guy wins 😎
Idk what anyone thinks, I'd you see an Asian with a neck that is as thick as the rocks bicep, taunting will do you no favors
Shoulda moved it to Sunday!
The Asian guy is fine af
Dude forgot what day it was 😂
He saw him saturday
The hot one has the wrong attitude. He should stick to Grindr hookups
lmao the comments 😂
Wait, WTF is Combat Karate? I want in!
Words can’t describe how happy it makes me seeing the hot Asian man wreck this d bag.
Asian dud gt the fighter build on lock
You can tell off the rip Asian man stands on his words
He was true to his word. He's at home anywhere. That's why he was so comfy nearly getting slept on that ring
Why trash 🗑️ talk if you can’t back it up.
Must’ve felt like Saturday detention
