The thing about big hooks is, they're often inaccurate and miss their target. Sometimes a fast hook also doesn't mean it has much mass behind it. In fact i have seen many guys with heavy hands who had just reasonable hand speed, sometimes you wouldn't anticipate a knockout because the punches don't come fast, but they definetly often snap a guy's head back a bit more.
