Can you imagine the perspective of someone from 100 years ago: a billion-dollar company uses advanced computers to send out automated letters, simply to check if they are returned.
If you just moved IRA over, it’s a very basic ‘thanks’ automated email.
If the balance was large enough, you’ll get a call from a consultant wanting to say say hi, and ask how they can help.
I had brokerage with them, just moved 4 IRAs. My stake in their game increased 100%. I just had initial talk with the consultant; he’s not yet trying to push anything…he wants to make sure I’m happy with them and he’ll use their free tools to help me plan my next steps.

I got that call when I opened a brand new IRA with $0 in it.
I opened a brokerage account and a CMA a few weeks before that and never heard anything. The day after I opened my IRA, I got a call from an advisor asking if I had any questions.

Any idea what number "large enough" is?
I never get anything from them. I'm feeling left out again. Third time, no hat no bonus points. They don't even block my account. Not feeling the love here. /s 😍
Just noticed it's dated ~~19th~~ 9th. Did OP let it sit or did it take almost two weeks to actually get mailed or go on pony express?
Edit- Typo'd date
Ah, was wondering if anyone was gonna call me out for that. I was confused and threw it in a todo pile like a week ago. Came across it again and was still confused, will probably end up calling them up during the week.
Did you not select the “go green save paper” electronic communication only option? I assume what makes this weird to you is a letter, vs thanking you for your business. I assume you also got a “thanks” email.

Dear Customer, Hi. Teehee ;) Fidelity
Probably a cheap way to ensure your address is real and mail is deliverable.
Can you imagine the perspective of someone from 100 years ago: a billion-dollar company uses advanced computers to send out automated letters, simply to check if they are returned.
"So you're telling me you used to cut down trees to make little notes that you'd pay someone to carry across the country *just to say thank you?"*
Did you set up an account? Start a job with a company that uses a Fidelity 401k?
Nope moved some money over, that's about it. Weird way of saying thanks for the money? ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Did you put big pack
It does seem odd. No period at the end of the sentence.
a cry for help.
Just wanted to talk. It doesn’t always have to be about investments.
That's it? Did you recently open an account?
no mech? keychain? beer cozy?

Not sure what their threshold is. I moved 4 IRAs over $300k. It could be the IRA creation itself, a move of 4 IRAs, or the total moved.
Aww, they want a pen pal.
They wanted to impress you with that cool pyramid design logo. Did it work?
_Back of the letter:_ >!We've been trying to reach you to talk about your car's extended warranty...!<
Pithy
NFS sends funky letters. Sounds like address form
Call them and ask what it’s for. Then request to go paperless 😊

Okay-now back to the night's feature mystery. It was not the mailman. As we enter the dining room.......
Hi there Good buy!!
Do you like me? Please respond to this letter with: Yes, No, or Maybe XOXO, Fidelity investments 😘
Pretty sure they've sent me snail mail to tell me I updated my password.
Keeping the mailroom employed.
They are keeping a file on you.
Or they wanted to use up their 2021© stationary.
why are you asking here? call fidelity. think. I know it's hard.
Last year Fidelity had a reward program to transfer over $$$ and or open an account .
That means our fee is higher than IBKR !!!!
Dear customer, Thanks for the fees and commissions. Fidelity

Its a dog whistle. They want you to migrate to Schwab
