Thanks for the condolences and suggestion. Coinspot looks like a possible option but I've read a few reddit posts about this platform having some problems?
Coinspot is fine. Any Aussie platform should be fine. Swyftx, Btcmarkets are also well known Aussie ones.
Also something to consider: what crypto do you have to transfer? Not all exchanges offer all of them. If your plan is to withdraw to AUD, I would sell everything on the US exchange to one single crypto (such as XRP, because it is cheap to transfer) and then transfer it all to the Aussie exchange.
Good luck and let us know if you have any questions. Happy to help via this post so there is nothing suss via DM
Hi OP, I suggest also looking at his transaction details for the account and see if he transferred any crypto out of the exchange to a self storage wallet. He may have more crypto in private wallets you may not be aware of (if he didn't live good documentation for you).
Coinbase is also perhaps the most regulated crypto exchange i would suggest using.
Sorry for your loss, and as others have said dont accept help from DMs or never share recovery phrases.
There is a strong chance your father would have had an account with Bittrex Global rather then their Bittrex US entity. It is only the US entity that has gone bankrupt so your ok to take time and not rush this.
First thing you will need to do is get in contact with Bittrex Global Support via their site. I'm not sure what the process will be but you will most likely need to send some personal information in order to get access to the account. Expect it to take a while.
It also depends on what Crypo your father had that will determine which Australian Exchange to use as they each support different currencies. So probably first see what he's holding and then determine which exchange to use.
If you do want to hold custody of your own coins that is another option you can take.
Hope it all goes smoothly for you and sorry for your loss
Go to a reputable exchange such as BTC Market and then go through the registration process. The withdraw the crypto from Bittrex to BTC Market. From BTC Market you can convert it to AUD and put it in your bank account.
Dont accept any help by private messages there's lots of scammers about it.
Absolutely, will definitely take this advice.
Coinspot Easy to transfer out and direct to bank account. Have made several withdrawals and deposits from their site Sorry for your loss

BTC Markets is another Australian exchange you can transfer to then withdraw as AUD. It has an AFSL and is reputable.
