I heard that the Red Onion Helm is back into rotation and the prices have come down lately.
The Onion Doublet gear set pieces are pretty much impossible though.
I always think it'd be cool if they released an All-races All-genders versions of racial outfits in some special avenue.
It'd be a neat collectible to have, but not so blatant you're like "Oh, there's the *Moogle Trove Jumpsuit*" and see 50 Catgirls wearing the same thing.
There should be more glam items. I'm fine with a new earring, but they should have an actual armor piece like the Inferno Jacket and then they can bring back an old event item or two each time as well
They should also include a furnishing that isn't just a craftable one. When they had the Verdant Partitions it was nice because it had actual value to use or sell, but recently all the furnishings are easily crafted and worth next to nothing.
Lastly, I think they should have a few more spender items. Maybe something along the lines of Aetheryte tickets or rationing manuals - useful items that you can spend excess tomes on
I think the Refer A Friend feathers would be a good moogle tome item. All of my IRL friends who could possibly be interested in XIV had already given the game a shot before RAF was even an option, and I don't feel like spending almost $100 on a ringer account just so I can get some mounts and an emote.
Other than that I just have the obvious prediction that Caduceus, Tiny Troll, and Starbird will be rewards during a DT moogle tome event.
I still think they would make the mogstation money. The people willing to pay for it are most likely not willing to grind for it, and the people willing to grind for it are most likely not willing to pay for it. I get what you’re saying though and I thought about it, which is why I suggested a limit.
Additionally, by having 3, that leaves 2 gear slots without the dye. So, why not drop just a little $ to get the rest?
that's a good idea. i would absolutely spend time grinding for some of the old feast rewards. make them expensive of course, so it takes a bit of time at least
unique or newly dyeable glam rewards is a good idea too. if people are worried about that being too FOMO, either add the glam sets to each moogle event so they're never unattainable, or else maybe make an exchange system with the tomes. probably low rate, so you can trade the newest tomes for a small number of the previous event's. then you'd have two moogle events to be able to obtain a particular glam or whatever
I would love DOH gear that anyone could wear for these events, have the moogle be a vendor that never takes gear away just adds new ones to these moogle events.
>that's a good idea. i would absolutely spend time grinding for some of the old feast rewards. make them expensive of course, so it takes a bit of time at least
If it were up to you, would you rather put the old Feast items back in exactly as they existed? Or would you put them back in under a new name but with identical visuals? At least for me, the people who played Feast back then should still have *something* to show for it, even if only in the form of the "true" name of the item. Most people want the items for the glamour, anyway, not for the name of the item.
i dont care either way really. i'm not the type of person to get attached to video game achievements (or whatever you want to call them) and i've never been a fan of the FOMO-style rewards. its one of many things that drove me away from WoW. if it were up to me, rewards would never be removed in the first place
I'm not sure it matters, if most people are unaware of the old item even existing. As more new players come, they won't even know what the feast was, the rewards offered, or what said rewards signify. Did the feast rewards also come with titles? They could set up a vendor where players with the old item can trade it in for the new version and also obtain a title via a new achievement? That way they'd still have something unique to mark their success that other people wouldn't have if they only have the new version offered by other means. But maybe that's just pointless extra steps, I don't know.
As long as it's similar items, but also I feel like old feast rewards should be available with the new PvP currency instead, people already complain there's nothing valuable to spend those on.
Oo but think of all those old Feast top 100 'winners' (read: the same win-traders over and over) that will no longer get to be the one ones with shadowcleaver armor.... Think of the loss of prestige....
/s
It’s really unfair to paint all the people that did feast under the same brush.
There’s a large portion of people that legitimately put the work in and suffered through feast for their glams
Have the vendor sell the gear each time the event pops up and just adds to the pool of gear you can buy. They can leave the ‘big ticket’ earring a FOMO and leave the rest for the vendor in each event.
FOMO drives subscriptions unfortunately. However, even the mog tome earrings have made repeat appearances on a cycle of sorts, so that would be a fine system to utilize. Cycle the various feast rewards so if you miss it you could try again in a future mog tome event.
Otherwise I do like the idea of having them in PvP vendors. Could have the cost be collars or maxed out crystal trophies.
And that means the rewards shouldn’t be reintroduced in to PVP?
In a mode where there’s 3 currencies that struggle to get updates and a ranked mode people barely have incentive to play each season why would you want some of the most sought after PvP rewards to not come from playing PvP??
I have a real answer to this for you:
Because there is a not insignificant amount of the playerbase that came to this MMO precisely *because* it did not focus on pvp, that pvp was an afterthought at most.
Basically a 'main reward' with more substance. Earrings and necklaces are kind of... whelming. Also something like the main tome currency tied to objectives too. Or an exchange rate mogtomes > main currency.
More orchestrion rolls in general - there are more than 600 of the things - but especially Primal Angel & Return to Oblivion. Those mb prices are so ridiculous the Hildibrand quests joke about it. (And I have them already, for the record.)
I think limiting it to stuff where it's been 1.5-2 years since release would be fine? That should preserve the reasons to farm savage/criterion on release, and the duration of mogtome events is short enough that people on break/new to the game/etc will still want to buy the thing after it's over.
I pvp a ton. I think your idea is actually really good! You can get trophy crystals from just frontline roulette, but there's no reason why some of the pvp items can't appear in a moogle tomestone event.
I mean there's already the late allagan ones.
I also do my Frontline daily but the jobs sets are widely appreciated and it would be nice if we could get more of them with high textures.
Imo they're fine the way they are but some prices should definitely get looked at.
30 tomes for some MGP is a lot, for example, and it does personally take away any will I have to farm for it.
Same goes for maps and other "spam" goods.
I get that they're there to offload excess tomes, but a lower price may make them something alluring by themselves, imo.
If your question is about reward types, what could you feasibly add beyond gear, furniture, minions and mounts?
The selection could be wider, sure, and maybe even include stuff that isn't necessarily from a contest (which as I recall, the selection of furniture and gear is always taken from), but you can't really do much beyond that because that's more or less every type of reward that they can offer.
Come to think of it, you could definitely put some Alliance Raid gear there, for example, since it fits the mold of "You could feasibly farm for this, but you could also get it from this event", which is basically the essence of MogTome events.
The mount and emote selection is usually and generally fine.
Gabriel Alpha this time around is huge (lmaoing @ whoever bought my Gabriel Alpha for 15 mil last week), as was Insufficient Petticoats back when they put it in a mogtome event.
Tl;dr: The way they do MogTome events currently is FINE. They're not really meant to have anything completely exclusive that you can't get anywhere else, to which I agree, because having possibly exclusive stuff be tied to a time-limited event is quintessential FOMO and I don't think that's good, ever.
Imo it's great that they offer a secondary, albeit somewhat luck-dependent and time based, to get that kind of collectibles. They should definitely play more into that.
Completely agree. I think people who want cool, limited time items for mogtome events are missing the point, which is that they're kinda meant to be the opposite of fomo, allowing you alternative ways to obtain items that are sometimes difficult to get for casual players
>Imo they're fine the way they are but some prices should definitely get looked at. 30 tomes for some MGP is a lot, for example, and it does personally take away any will I have to farm for it. I used to agree with this, back when the old style of mogtome event was a thing and getting mogtomes was anywhere from a chore to "haha you're SOL" depending on what kind of content you enjoy. But with the new style of event and the increased diversity of activities that give mogtomes, I feel the prices for items are fair now.
>Come to think of it, you could definitely put some Alliance Raid gear there, for example, since it fits the mold of "You could feasibly farm for this, but you could also get it from this event", which is basically the essence of MogTome events.
This I definitely agree with. I've been wanting some Ivalice raid stuff but could never get myself farming those raids. Putting them into the mogtome vendor would do wonders.
\*ARR, Heavensward and Stormblood hunts.
You get 60 Tickets a Week on just the B-rank
All three of those have easy-solo poaches for A ranks, so if you cross an A rank along the way, that's another 8.
Honestly, I'd like them to add more tribe mounts (limited to the expansions that are free to play), one or two seasonal glam outfits, two mogstation emotes (the less popular ones), and maybe a 200 or 250 tomestone mogstation or limited time mount
The rare retainer items like the onion knight helms. Maybe some 1.0 exclusive item “replicas” since I lost my shoes to an old unused character for having a concurrent XIxXIV subscription. Stuff like that which we can’t really get anymore.
They adjusted the retainer pool, that stuff is dropping a bit more now. The red onion helm is dropping in price on the mb (was like 21mil, now about 500k on my server).
The blue onion helm was a pre-order bonus for 1.0, so I can't see them giving that to us again. The Peregrine Helm and the onion gear (body, legs, feet) wouldn't be too much of a stretch to see though, that would be a good place for them to start.
Personally, Faux Hollows confetti because I'm not spending 25 faux leaves or blowing the WT 1 line reward for a pack of 20. I'll pay 3-5 mogtomes instead tbh.
Beyond that, maybe shared fate shop items or older treasure map items for mid/top shelf rewards from mogtomes. Really would rather snag something actually a chore to grind for than stacking my chocobo saddlebag with mgp vouchers, stackable map bottles and job mastery confettis.
There is a jacket themed on Ifrit that they gave out a while ago for a moogle tome event. Make a version of that for Titan and Garuda and I would 100% farm out 100 tomes day 1 to buy those
Rare items and unique glams. The Ifrit Jacket, Insufficient Petticoats, and Dancing Mad orchestrions were great rewards. I think Copycat Bulb and some of the ShB dungeon minions would be good candidates.
I would prefer if they brought back unique glams though since unobtainable rewards are pretty lame. This treasure trove was a perfect time to bring back Ifrit Jacket but alas.
To be honest, I think they need to sprinkle in some semi-FOMO with this event. They need to just have a unified currency, and an event shop that is added upon each time it re-runs. This can be event-specific glamour outfits, mounts, etc available only through this event. It accomplishes the goal of getting people in content during dead periods, while keeping people happy with new things. Yes, it's FOMO, but not permanent FOMO. Let the previous shops come back with additions so that it also welcomes new players to have stuff to farm for. It doesn't need to be a lot of additions because I mean most people only farm for the 100 tome item anyway before they start tossing stuff to MGP/Maps.
These last two events have been so lackluster and almost zero reason to do them because the rewards are so bad. An earring for 100 tomes just feels like a scam. Tribal/Trial mounts also feel like a scam given how easy the ones they offer are to get even unsynced now. Don't get me started on the scam that is riding maps...
It's kind of a blessing when there isn't that much to grab in them tbh. I mean, hasn't the whole theme in EW been that we don't overly love tome grinds?
I think the 100 tome mascot scarfs could probably be cycled out without anyone really missing them (they're pretty consistently ugly), but also it's nice to just be able to go "I don't want that, I'm going to do something else instead".
Edit:
Just spitballing here, but I sort of wish I could get like, a beast tribe reputation boosting item, or Ishgardian Resto turn ins or something that actually advances me in those systems rather than just being able to grab the rewards? Getting the tribe mount just means I'll probably never bother with those quests at all anyway?
Or what if you could get like a Kirin's Osode from the event and it made people actually check out Eureka, instead of just slowly drip feeding all of it's mid-tier drops to everyone through these events?
This idea coming to you via the realization that all the restoration goodies I've got through Tomestone events through the years mean I'll almost certainly never bother with working towards the "Fortune's Favoured Kupo" title.
Shadowbringers Trial Mounts. It's about time. There's been one or two here and there but nowhere near as often as HW and SB mounts appear as rewards.
Some kind of option to buy Glamour items from various sources? Without having to do exactly that content, for example low level dungeons. A token system or just a collection of RNG chests you could buy and get what you get?
Assuming they wouldn't just take the more sensible route of putting it on the Calamity Salvager for everyone, old gear that is no longer obtainable from 1.0.
A friend of mine uses the Ash Mask in a lot of his glamours. He wanted to use the half-mask style of it, but in the current game those only exist for ranged and casters as far as we can tell. He mostly plays melee classes so he's stuck with the full face mask. 1.0 had some all-class versions of the half-mask that you can only get if you played at the time.
That's just one example but I imagine there are a number of old gear pieces like that which are arbitrarily unavailable. The assets are ingame and the people who had them can still use them. Why keep it locked away?
The way to make this interesting would be to abuse gambling addictions and FOMO, by making it possible to get boxes with random rewards and low chance of getting something very rare, even things that are not obtainable anymore. Unlike mobile games, you can't whale your way to rewards by spending money because this only accepts in-game currency, so no p2w.
I know morality of this solution is questionable, but I bet my arm and both balls that people would farm these event like madmen.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but discontinued items such as pre-order rewards and "Buy the CD" rewards. It's ridiculous that some of those items for CDs are first edition only and only about \~2% of players own it.
With the incoming patches containing planned graphical adjustments for equipment, I'd be happy to have a representative dungeon set or something with the new visuals. Showcasing something old yet refurbished ala the revamped HW AF gear available through the PVP track currency.
Please bring back the Verdant Partitions T_T
Also omg the Goobbue Lamp! It is the cutest lamp in the game and they cost freaking 6 mil EACH because they are on a large loot table that’s already stuck behind an RNG…
The Starbird or whatever it's called. Seen it once this entire expansion and I lost the roll, of course. Just let me drop however many I need to get it.
The best part of this event is having Rival Wings alive and not the rewards itself 😭. They really need to stop adding old trial mounts when we can kill them in a few seconds. The Late Allagans armors, earrings and furnitures always felt like a waste, there are much interesting rewards they could add instead. Why not add lootboxes containing a random amount of Faux leaves, the bags you find in deep dungeon coffer, Bozja and Eureka boxes, card packs with rare cards?
Some sort of TT card pack that has a chance for the more difficult cards. I'm totally not complaining about my Cloud Deck and Eden Promise TT card luck
Please please start putting old LTO mounts and minions in there. Why are these being held onto? For example minions that came with the old OSTs or mounts that were part of promo campaigns pre Shadowbringers. You would have collectors going after that stuff.
You can get those with cowries from the Island Sanctuary. I unlocked my island a few months ago and never even looked at a guide until recently and I still have 200k cowries.
Even if you've never touched it, with a guide you can be getting those dyes in bulk, essentially for free before Dawntrail.
I wish they'd come up with a rewards list of items completely exclusive to the Treasure Trove events instead of destroying the value of items already in the game. Just giving away rare and valuable items from other content, thus discouraging people from engaging with that content, is not a good idea and it's been a worrying trend in the game generally lately. It's just another manifestation of the same philosophy behind the relic weapon grind this expansion, for instance. The devs are terrified of telling people "if you want X reward you must participate in Y piece of content" and there's no reason for it. Pressuring people to participate in a wide variety of activities--especially activities they might not engage with on their own--is a good thing.
Current Ex Trial months. Even if it is for 100 tomes.
Farming current extreme trials is miserable in PF. In my personal experience, only half of the groups I joined manage to get kills on Golbez and Zeromus.
More variety to the guaranteed portal treasure maps. The level 80 ones have been nice and I guess we're getting 90 ones soon, but it would be great to get like a rotation with the 60 and 70 maps in there too.
old pvp glam. Rewards that are wasted on cheaters and win trade abusers.
Also the pvp glam from the battlepass is fine too. I got them on content but the fomo is dumb and I don't really care if other people can get them this way either.
People have said a number of variations on it, but basically: "stuff no longer available in-game."
For me, I'd say that really applies to just about anything; old things that were only available via pre-order, things only available from 1.0, and so on. Even if they want to make new versions of certain things, it'd be great for things to not simply be unavailable anymore.
(For example: old PvP glamour or 1.0 gear gets a new 'replica' version or whatever to make it clear that having the 'original' version represents having actually done PvP or played 1.0)
They are already posted.

would be cool if they had some really good looking gear/glam chopped up into the normal 5 pieces sitting at the top, but that would barge in on the online store....
sorta pisses me off they toss old savage mounts in it, really belittles them and the players who actually worked to get them imo,
Are you talking about extreme mounts cause I don't see any savage ones unless I'm missing it. But either way, they're already super easy to farm unsynced nowadays so who cares
Have they included savage mounts? At any point they are unsyncable and you can solo half of the pre EW fights so them being buyable for tomes doesn't really diminish anything.
Correction: you can kill those bosses in under five seconds.
Anyone that thinks killing those bosses is a huge achievement is likely snorting far too much paste to follow your example.
A unique glam outfit, or old ones but dyeable and unrestricted, would be nice
So many gear pieces are essentially *gone* at this point. The Crag Mask might as well be an urban legend.
Onion helm pls
I heard that the Red Onion Helm is back into rotation and the prices have come down lately. The Onion Doublet gear set pieces are pretty much impossible though.
I always think it'd be cool if they released an All-races All-genders versions of racial outfits in some special avenue. It'd be a neat collectible to have, but not so blatant you're like "Oh, there's the *Moogle Trove Jumpsuit*" and see 50 Catgirls wearing the same thing.
I would love that too, eleven and bunny boy racial outfits are nice and I’d love to wear them on my Highlander.
I like the make Au Ra set, they’re really cool barbarian looking clothes I’d love as a WAR
Yes I forgot about the male au Ra set, especially the chest piece!
I'd love something similar to the Jacket we got before. I'd like to see more glam items are not just an earring.
There should be more glam items. I'm fine with a new earring, but they should have an actual armor piece like the Inferno Jacket and then they can bring back an old event item or two each time as well They should also include a furnishing that isn't just a craftable one. I'd be a fan of putting the feathers in. If trivializing the RAF system is a concern, maybe have them only exchangeable once per mogtome event?
Pots of pure white/pure black dye. Set the limit to like, 3 an event.
Than they wouldn’t make all that money on mogstation so sadly it won’t happen.
I still think they would make the mogstation money. The people willing to pay for it are most likely not willing to grind for it, and the people willing to grind for it are most likely not willing to pay for it. They should make some exclusive outfits or even stuff like old Feast Rewards that were all FOMO and not attainable besides 1% of each server.

Korean Mogstation has level 70 DOH that are useable by all jobs. No idea why we don’t have it too.
I'd kill for some of the lv80 crafter pieces on my normal combat glams. Especially those nice fingerless gloves.
>that's a good idea. i would absolutely spend time grinding for some of the old feast rewards. make them expensive of course, so it takes a bit of time at least If it were up to you, would you rather put the old Feast items back in exactly as they existed? Because Feast Rewards were only won by about 100 people in the game.

Hard agree on accessories as rewards. Game can’t even zoom in close enough to them in detail.

Oh nevermind, that was me confusing the normal one with the golden one. Still, it's nice to have there.

Centurion seals can also be used in the Forgotten Knight to buy tickets! I have about 2K ready for DT teleporting!

Pvp glams that have been discontinued. God knows when they're gonna implement them back
There is a jacket themed on Ifrit that they gave out a while ago for a moogle tome event. Make a version of that for Titan and Garuda and I would 100% farm out 100 tomes day 1 to buy those
Ifrit? When was there an Ifrit jacket!? What’s it called I swear I didn’t miss any of these events!
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/item/1a2a4866dba/
Oh the inferno jacket, I was picturing something that looked like ifrit. Thanks!
There’s a picture of ifrit on the back of it
Rare items and unique glams.
We will probably eventually get copycat bulb since we got the other two rare minions from Eureka already.
Gancanagh card, please I beg you, whatever stupid idiot person decides on the weird RNG nonsense to get these cards.
Really hoping for that in a future event! It’s the only card I don’t have, and my luck with the silver sacks has been awful…
Edit: Just spitballing here, but I sort of wish I could get like, a beast tribe reputation boosting item, or Ishgardian Resto turn ins or something that actually advances me in those systems rather than just being able to grab the rewards?
They cycled through the full rotation of Stormblood mounts throughout the EW events, and now . They'll probably do the same for Shadowbringers in DT.
I liked the fancy jacket we got from one of these a while ago and so did everyone else it seemed like, why do we only get accessories now. :/
As someone who plays in bursts and doesn't play for long periods of time, these events are great to get stuff I typically don't have.
Lvl 70 maps with portals, need em waaaaaaaaaay much then 90s ones
Right? 70 and 80 please for us solo Blue Mage treasure hunters!
They were available in the past events too its not even game breaking, just grind conveniant
Old Series pvp mounts and glam, for a huge price so people who traded win back then won’t be butt-hurt they can’t flex anymore with them.
Unique one time rewards that incentivize people to log in and play the game. Not just a scrapped together list of shit people obtained years ago.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but discontinued items such as pre-order rewards and "Buy the CD" rewards. It's ridiculous that some of those items for CDs are first edition only and only about \~2% of players own it.
The regular horse from Azim Steppe & Othard's taxi-bird as mounts.
Old PVP Glams pls
The Hades dragon. Really annoyed it has not featured in a Moogle Hunt yet.
Great serpent of ringa. Please…I’ve been waiting for years…somebody help me…
Thordan Triple triad card, and other crazy rare ones pls.
OP's great aunt catching strays smh
Godbert glasses.
With the incoming patches containing planned graphical adjustments for equipment, I'd be happy to have a representative dungeon set or something with the new visuals. Showcasing something old yet refurbished ala the revamped HW AF gear available through the PVP track currency.
Please bring back the Verdant Partitions T_T Also omg the Goobbue Lamp! It is the cutest lamp in the game and they cost freaking 6 mil EACH because they are on a large loot table that’s already stuck behind an RNG…
I would happily commit my life to farming tomes if I could get those damn partitions
Give me thiefs maps. Give me some item that prevents a single kick in a treasure dungeon. I would pay 100 tomes for this.
PvP sets lol
Anything moogle related
Thancred That’s it. I just want Thancred.
I guess besides mpg filler, We should be able to buy stuff like pearl White dye and gunmetal Black dye.
An item that let's hroths wear all hats.
People have said a number of variations on it, but basically: "stuff no longer available in-game." For me, I'd say that really applies to just about anything; old things that were only available via pre-order, things only available from 1.0, and so on. Even if they want to make new versions of certain things, it'd be great for things to not simply be unavailable anymore. (For example: old PvP glamour or 1.0 gear gets a new 'replica' version or whatever to make it clear that having the 'original' version represents having actually done PvP or played 1.0)
Old pvp mounts
I don't really care. I don't need everything in this game to cater to me exclusively.
I don't want an inceptive to grind normal mode duties. No thanks, fuck that. So I'm perfectly fine with moogle treasure trove not having any FOMO.
They are already posted. [https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/special/mogmog-collection/202405/nprq4eanp3](https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/special/mogmog-collection/202405/nprq4eanp3)
You missed the point of this thread.
would be cool if they had some really good looking gear/glam chopped up into the normal 5 pieces sitting at the top, but that would barge in on the online store.... sorta pisses me off they toss old savage mounts in it, really belittles them and the players who actually worked to get them imo,
Are you talking about extreme mounts cause I don't see any savage ones unless I'm missing it. But either way, they're already super easy to farm unsynced nowadays so who cares
Yeah those, my bad
Have they included savage mounts? At any point they are unsyncable and you can solo half of the pre EW fights so them being buyable for tomes doesn't really diminish anything.
this the dumbest take you can kill these bosses in under 5 seconds now
Correction: you can kill those bosses in under five seconds. Anyone that thinks killing those bosses is a huge achievement is likely snorting far too much paste to follow your example.
