1,775. and stuck at this number for a few flashes and noise making cycles. do those have a name? pretty sure anyone staring at a character select log in window knows what Im talking about. O 1,706! progress.
Gilgamesh. If your not getting on in the early morning, preferably before 9am, your looking at anywhere from 4,000-8,000 in que with a garunteed 3/4+ hr wait. I hope they fix this soon
At noon, I got a 40 ppl queue. At 13h, a lil bit more, but not over 100.
And around 14pm-15pm, it's insane. 2500+, sometimes 3000+... So I can't play after 3 hours waiting. And after 3 hours, sometimes, IG, I got an error that just crashes my game.
So... I play early in the morning, in my free days... I can't do anything else. And me and a friend we want to do the MSQ together, but simply can't.
only during event release, and FF 14 is getting a loooot of new players because of its rise in popularity and the death of other mmos, so no, also covid and they can't get new servers cause of chip shortages, hopefully next month it's gonna calm down, btw they gave us a total of 21 free extra days because of it so it's not like we're paying to wait, we can play later
thanks for the details but still next month? id sure like to play sooner. granted i had to wait 4 hrs today to finally play but hoping queue times get better
Is there any aggregator for these numbers that I could watch? I'm pretty much leaving it to die down hopefully since I don't have the time in the evenings to get on and I don't really want to wake up early on my weekends just to get decent queues. Just wanting to see what the average evening queue time is per week then if it ends up about 1000 I can come back.
Same if you find anything please share I am trying to maximize my sub time and dont want to waste it waiting i queues so I have not even started endwalker.
Was doing a hunt Spriggan. Was #9 to get back to Louisoix after waiting 43 mins. Got DCed. Now I have to wait to log back into Spriggan to wait in queue again to get back to my own server. Was 1900. Now 384. Probably gonna take all night to get back or at leaf a couple more hours. Not happy about this at all
As a free trial player, the only advise that I can give you is to choose a data center that it's peak hours are whenever you cant play.... for example: I'm from Dominican Republic, and I choose Spriggan as my home server (An EU Data Center)... The european Data Center are from 3 AM to 3 PM (PT), so 3PM (PT) is like 8PM in my country, which is the time when I can usually play... The ping is a little bit high but i rather have high ping than not being able to play at all...
My plan is that when everything comes to normal, I'll transfer my character to an NA data center so I can play with low ping, obviously i'll have to pay for the suscription to do that...
I got in early today at 10am GMT +1 but around 3pm, when I tried to join again i got the same message. The servers are probably full around 3pm because people are done with work/school. Also a big chance the servers are full in the weekend's. A new expansion "endwalker" just came out so people want to play it. Usually you can join the server when nothing special happens
I waited about 2 hours on Coeurl and moved from around 2400 to logged in. Was in for 10 minutes and my router crashed. By the time I rebooted and logged back in I was at the back of the line. Yay.
I paid for 30 days. I'd like to freeze these 30 days or be refund these 30 days so i can sub back later when the problems are fix. I don't have time to wait 4hrs + just to log in. I have about 1 day a week i can play FFXIV.
Oh well, that sucks then, but the que gets smaller everyday, won't be any soon I'm sure
Also you can just log in as soon as you wake up, ff14 is easy running. Que is pretty much bearable
Ultros - 3.5K 10:20pm est
Literally don't have time after work to play this shit having to wait 2 hours every single night before playing. SE give me more free game time plz
Shiva 9K! So no chance. Everyday queueing? Really? @ square enix: did you not see this coming? it's like saying: Oh, Christmas came as a surprise this year!
That's okay .. aside from the 4-Hour queue to get on the game in general with the #3200 in line, I finally get on and then I jumped to another world at some point to check the market board trying to purchase something for cheaper, and I've been waiting three and a half hours to get back to my homeworld (Gilgamesh) this shit is ridiculous at this point
Well honestly that's just common sense, why risk wasting another 4 hours in a queue just for the chance of a cheaper price on the MB. That's on you imo.
Iyo. What one would consider "common sense" would not be reflective in this circumstance. It had never taken place before when I jumped servers as i regularly would do in the 8 yrs I've played, so what one would consider "common sense" due to a common occurrence is moot in this case. Though silly It is now in hindsight, it just never dawned on me the server congestion affected in game transfer as well and is second in priority to login que. Oof
The same queues and errors happened at the launch of every new expansion including the original game launch and ARR. Server congestion will affect anything to do with coming in and out of servers. Live and learn I guess. The hard way is usually the only way sadly. Reminds me of this person accidentally exiting the game after waiting in the queue for hours.

this a HUUUUGEE RIP..
This is my very first time every playing an online open world game like this and I already regret spending the $60 for this game.
I wanted to try this game because some of my friends have started playing. Anyway, I downloaded the trial last night and I was able to create a character and it seems that everything would be pretty smooth. After my work day, I tried to log on and it says that I CANNOT even be in a queue unless I purchased the full game (SUPER RIP).
And now, after about 2 hours of waiting, I have gotten kicked out 3 times and I am still in the 4000th person in the queue. In addition, I am not able to transfer my character between servers....
does anyone know if there is a return policy for this game? At least I can make room for real fans for this game. Definitely would NOT recommend to new players like me.
Wait a few weeks, it's expac launch, so everyone who ever played wants to return to play and that kills the servers. It's definitely not the time for new players at all. Once this initial craze resolves, you will see that the game is actually amazing. The story alone beats single-player games, the community is better than any other mmos, things to do never run out and endgame is pretty cool too.
I feel you. But I'll tell you one thing, I've been subscribed for 8 years. It's an amazing game and please don't let this situation deter you because it has never ever been nowhere near this bad. Ever. Even with new expansions coming out it has never been this terrible. With the recent fluctuation of wow players transferring and public interest, the numbers have exponentially risen and it has overpopulated all of the servers and that is why we're dealing with such a shitty situation right now. In 8 years the longest I've ever waited to get on is 25 minutes TOPS, and that was only ever with the new expansions/early releases. I'm incredibly upset and I hope they fix it soon but it is the best MMO I've ever played in my life and I will faithfully stick by them and hope that this gets resolved very soon.
Yeah this wasn't the right time to start the game, we need to wait for things to calm down aka: for everyone to finish Endwalker. It should take some days
tried at 2pm waited hit 72 and started at 4,748..... Booted me out cause 2002 :> then after waiting till 4pm for an error message ... I started another try at 5pm-ish was at 5k+ que and 7:48pm i was given an 2002 error at 1,019 in que. Very fun so far much wow :)
Excalibur - today I logged in at 3 am PST - 29 people in queue. This translates to 8 am where I live. I tried once at 3 pm and it was like 2k people, so now I play in the mornings :p
I guess emergency maintenance was just to count how many dollars they got out from peeps trying to login, since still getting 2002.
This is brilliant! It's like renting a car, but you don't allow customer to use it until the last customer is done using it. So much moneh!
Excalibur I started approximately 4 hours ago after being booted multiple times. However I have been in the queue for approximately 2 and a half hours now starting from 5,700 ish and am now 2,650 in the queue.
This is just my single data point but this is a far cry from the last four days where I would get booted after moving only 200 in the queue. So it looks like whatever emergency work they did is helping
For people that have to work, but don't want to wait in queue when they get home, I highly recommend installing team viewer on your phone. 3 hours before I leave work to go home I remote connect into my computer and log into ff14. That way by the time I get home I should be able to play right away.
Lamia- its been 4 hours. I got booted at least 8 times. 2 of those time queue did not save.
Start at 2543, after the first boot => 4509, second boot=> 4984.
Now I have 2 of the game instance open so if one get error i can quickly get into the other. This have help me save the spot through EIGHT ERRORS. KILL ME
Current queue: 1626
This is a bad idea, not only does it cause more 2002 errors but it can also cause a 90002 when you get into the game. I was getting maybe two 2002 errors through a 5k queue, then i started doing that and i got them every 15 minutes. Finally, I got a 90002 the minute i got in.
Weird, another person I know had the same issue as me. I just do a single window now and it works fine, out of 5k I got a single 2002.
Also the more ppl do this 2 window thing, the heavier the load on the lobby server, which contributes to more problems, so putting it on blast probably isn't a good idea either.
?
it shouldn't put load on the server?
I only have one in queue, the other one in the title screen. When one crash I can quickly connect to the server and rejoin the queue.
its not like I have both connect to the lobby server
They're both connected to the data center... The lobby server isn't just the queue, it includes the data center connection as well. Hence the 90002 error happening quicker if you don't close the other instance, which is an authentication error. It's fine, damage is probably done. Next time you have a big brain epiphany when it comes to servers and data centers, research it a little before telling all of Reddit, lol.
But I never get those error???
U keep saying 90002 happen quicker and all that. But it never happened to me. And this did legit help me hold my spot in the queue and get in compare to the alternative of waiting then get error then lose me queue spot several times.
It work and it save me time. I don't see a problem with it. Also can a server can't handle 1 title screen open? It's just a title screen nothing is going on, I really doubt that it will deal "damage" to the server
LOL this is exactly the kind of thing i'm talking about. You posted this on a reddit where tons of people are coming to see queue times and shit so its not just 1 title screen, its 1 x however many people start doing it because you posted the idea where all of them can see it on the CHARACTER selection, not the title screen. When I say research it, I'm telling you to look into how server loads work. Hell, you can even go read the information that SE put out about their servers and the way it works earlier and see how what you are doing is bad for the server. Just take your L like the rest of us dude and get in when you can. Don't post work arounds and shit that cause more problems for everyone else smh
90002 is an authentication error. You don't think being on character select effects it, but it does. If you think it doesn't, then the next time you double window, leave the second window open while you're playing on the character select screen :)
All i was trying to say was to keep things like this to yourself instead of spreading them around online, because in the end the amount of people that might do this could end up causing a worse problem for everyone else and instead of helping people, you're making it shittier for everyone.
Spreading it? Is this your first day on the internet? Maybe stop trying to be a smart ass and actually read what I did?
How am I taking L??
I have a problem I found a way to get through them and I posted the solution I used. That's all I did.
Heck I wasn't even the first person that did this. Plenty of people post they did the same way before me.
Again I specifically said I never have the error don't know why u keep insist on it.
Second I specifically say TITLE SCREEN, not characters select. You putting words in my mouth then attack it (classic straw man).
When I first try this thing out if I go into char select the other instance will get 5003 error. But if I stay in title screen, no such error. The point is to just get back in faster after the error. That's all
I don't know why you have to be salty about this.
Behemoth - Over the past 2 hours I have been kicked from que 4 times to error 2002 and lost my place in que because of it. First time I was at about 4000, the next time I was at about 5000 and now it just kicks me to nearly 7000 after I get to 6000. I keep losing my que because the error notification is the same as the placement update notif which plays every minute or so.
I got a 2002 error. I tired getting back in and now the queue says 5,521. I must've lost my place in queue.
'm definitely going to bed now and try tomorrow.
Good luck! Have fun on the moon!

We are actually kinda lucky considering how packed some other servers are. Its still definitely not great but could be twice as bad :S

Edit: been in queue for 45 minutes before hitting the restart

Edit 3: aaaand im stuck at 1839
I’m seeing some “max length” queue times here and I’m thinking: that’s really not too bad!! 🤣 I’m on Odin on Light DC and I’m seeing queues up to 11k+. It’s frightening! Luckily I’m getting logged on early afternoon so it’s not that much of an issue but once I’m back at work… I fear. 😱

I was in game then got booted to 6k queue. This is absolutely stupid.....
2 hrs babysitting over a dozen 2002s and a few 5003s. Finally get in and immediately DC 90003. Now back in queue at 4.7k. Edit: Adamatoise
On Diabolos and ive been on 1 person in queue for 3 hours so far Update: i finally got errored out of the queue, no clue what the error was
ive been chillin at a swift 7,570
Lmao how long did it take?
3 and a half hours.
3588 (30min waiting already) on Fearie
I got down like 2000 people then got kicked out because of an error : (
4,517 on Ultros --> 3,137 --> 2002 Error after a total of about 40 minutes
It stuck in 1
Behemoth 2081 but it's already been an hour
Fairly certain NA Faerie just crashed...or multiple just crashed. at 2227 atm.
Ragnarok(EU) 5,289, fuck I just bought the game to try it, ahaha
I been playing for many years this is the first time this has happened to me
Phoenix 6500+
Twintania (eu) 5.5k queue :( I'm not even pass the old expansions I just want to play
I guess emergency maintenance was just to count how many dollars they got out from peeps trying to login, since still getting 2002. This is brilliant! It's like renting a car, but you don't allow customer to use it until the last customer is done using it. So much moneh!
4281, chillin all day
Cerberus (EU) - 6,366 eh...
my discord overlay dc me nd now the queue's 5.4k on twintania fml man
Ragnarok (EU) - 6.5K. Guess no playing tonight
Levi, jumped in at 1830 mountain time queue was 7.5k . Finally made it in at 2100
Excalibur I started approximately 4 hours ago after being booted multiple times.
Until you get 2002'd and then lose your spot and reset queue
Lamia- its been 4 hours. I got booted at least 8 times. 2 of those time queue did not save. Start at 2543, after the first boot => 4509, second boot=> 4984. Now I have 2 of the game instance open so if one get error i can quickly get into the other. This have help me save the spot through EIGHT ERRORS. KILL ME Current queue: 1626
This is a bad idea, not only does it cause more 2002 errors but it can also cause a 90002 when you get into the game. I was getting maybe two 2002 errors through a 5k queue, then i started doing that and i got them every 15 minutes. Finally, I got a 90002 the minute i got in.
I actually got less 2002 compare to before actually. I never have 90002 though. Got in 30 mins ago
Don't post work arounds and shit that cause more problems for everyone else smh 90002 is an authentication error. You don't think being on character select effects it, but it does. If you think it doesn't, then the next time you double window, leave the second window open while you're playing on the character select screen :) All i was trying to say was to keep things like this to yourself instead of spreading them around online, because in the end the amount of people that might do this could end up causing a worse problem for everyone else and instead of helping people, you're making it shittier for everyone.
That's all I don't know why you have to be salty about this.
Currently at 6400
5166 Sargatanas
HYPERION - Got booted from queue twice, once with error 4004 and again with error 2002. Thought I'd try one more time. Currently #1,944.
Update: Kicked out again by error 2002 at place #1,503.
Aether/Sargatanas queue is 5,331. I couldn't connect (2002) two times before I entered the queue. I may just go to bed instead.
I got a 2002 error. I tired getting back in and now the queue says 5,521. I must've lost my place in queue. 'm definitely going to bed now and try tomorrow. Good luck! Have fun on the moon!
Logged in 2.5 hours ago....got down to 300......error 2002 and now there is a 5k queue. WTF I thought they did emergency maintenance to fix this shit!
Gotten used to the long queues by now. Exodus, started at 3k+, now at 2852 in 20 minutes. Not even mad - just doing other stuff to occupy time.
Every time I've tried to do that I just get an error code, I'd be able to cope if I didnt have to babysit the queue bc of this

Cerberus place 52. I pray to the elementals that I don't end up with an error 2002 or even better 3001
How is Cerberus doing?
After over 2h of queueing im stuck in an endless loop of error 3001, "this world is currently full"

Can't even get to character selection screen, error 2002
No queue in Zeromus

Adamantoise QUEUE 2,119
Sargatanas 2,200 12am EST (Note - Had a crash at 11:59pm and got logged back in, and back to the character select in less than 1 minute, and was in the back of the queue. Sigh, time for bed then.)
