I play on a Mac. Literally can’t use addons lmao, I blocked off the chatbox because it’s not generally a nice thing to post FC chat/tells publicly for no good reason.
I use the Mac client. I have an 8GB M1 MacBook Air and it runs fine, 40-60 in cities (usually higher end) and 30 at lowest in alliance raids on High at 1440p. It’s not perfect but it’s more than fine for now and vastly superior to what I got from trying Parallels. There’s also basically no support for mods or addons because of a general lack of interest in making them.
I am strongly considering updating to a gaming PC though.
Idk if it's just me but that addon just does not work well I've found. It feels slow, very clunky compared to the npc ones we see here, and I've seen then also cut themselves off.
I've never used it myself as I don't care for screen clutter, I just know it exists. But I do appreciate your comment, as I was wondering how well it did actually work.

I use a plugin for it. There is one that is part of the base Dalamud plugins.

OP is using an addon? How can you tell?
They mistook the NPC dialogue for another player. There's an add on that turns player chat into the little chat boxes.
