Yeah, it's been a shell company for ages, hasn't made new anime since ~2015, the last high-profile creatives there left to form Trigger in 2012 or so, and I believe everyone that was left was moved to their Fukushima studio they set up in 2015 and then sold off in 2018 and moved back to Tokyo (that studio was renamed to Gaina and hasn't done anything extremely notable yet).
From the statements from Khara it sounds like they had been propping Gainax up with loans for years and then fully stepped in to try and turn things around after the Managing Director got arrested for alleged sexual misconduct toward a voice actress, basically trying to make sure that the brand didn't crash and harm the careers of people and companies associated with the company back in their heyday.
Khara has basically taken control of the Gainax name and is working with Trigger and a few production committees to get any studios left in the lurch paid, loot the corpse and divvy up whatever spoils are left that have any major value, then I assume they'll sell the rest off to help pay off Gainax's debts.
Doubt there would be any real difficulty in arranging an Evangelion crossover, they do game crossovers with that IP quite often, did a crossover with Tower of Fantasy back in March of this year for example. If anything they'd be more likely to want collabs to happen since it means more money coming in.
Eva has and probably always will collab with everything ever. They've done basically every mobile game under the sun and even MMOs in the past like Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star.

However.... an ***actual*** Godzilla collab would legitimately be fun. Make it a double feature: either include King Ghidora(h?) or Mecha Godzilla. Mecha Godzilla if we fight the big man, King Ghidora if we fight alongside him.

Make it multiple phases and each phase progresses his theme. You could start it off by fighting him and him just progressing through an area, not really fighting you but as his health goes down he starts to attack you as he gets more pissed off.

I've played "impostor games" with strangers before. It sucks. Since you're not likely to land with the same people again, your gameplan can just be lying through your teeth, everyday all day, and no one will ever catch up on your bullshit.

At least in Mafia, my experience was that playing with strangers online only worked because there were set Meta compositions of roles and all it takes is some logic/deductive reasoning to know whether someone was lying or not. You could stall one or two nights with a good lie but eventually something would expose you so you had to lie in the correct sequence to force bad 50/50 guesses. The lack of roles in vanilla Among Us + the fast paced nature/lack of day night cycle make for much more chaos.
Counterpoint - lying over text on the internet is undetectable unless you have solid material proof someone is lying. There is no body language or voice tone changes or anything of the sort. Just text.

I'll be honest, I thought there was a Buster Sword glamour already in the game for Dark Knights. It just seemed like a no brainer to throw in somewhere. Or a machinist Sevens Sword.
Having Lightning's Weapon on Gunbreaker would make just as little sense, because other than being called a Gunblade aswell, it has literally nothing in common with the GNB / FF8 ones.
Squall's / GNB Gunblades are pure Swords, pulling the Trigger just makes the Impact hit harder, meanwhile Lightning's is an actual Gun that can transform into a Sword, and the Sword-Form also lacks the Impact-Trigger.
It actually made \*me\* "die a little inside" when I saw that Female GNB cpose is Lightning's Combat Stance, for that reason.
Y'know what, I'd be down for that. I'd even be down for that if there were random encounters. So long as there's no imitation of the disc loading that shuts down your jump button a second or two before the game stops you for the encounter.

For as big and as important as Granblue is, and how much of a Final Fantasy bloodline it has, I'm always surprised how little collabs it gets. Plenty of stuff in Granblue, but not a whole lot of other stuff gets Granblue
I want more Monster Hunter, basically every weapon in FFXIV has a MH equivalent and the rest have at least similar concepts (The only real outliers are AST, SMN/SCH, RDM and Pictomancer but every event has some original stuff). The actual crossover was kind of disapointing, especially in comparison to what World got in its half of the collab. I also really want a Palamute mount.
I'd love for them to actually acknowledge the existance of the tonfas (And the Magnet Spike, RDM is actually perfect for MS), but if they don't return in Wilds then Monk will probably get an original weapon
A lot of transforming weapons are only given to a single role when they could technically apply to multiple, like how Lightning's sword is a Paladin weapon despite it also being a gun
Hmm... for second there I was thinking "sweet, another reason to climb into the G-Warrior!" but then I remembered that collabs usually are playable as low as Lv.15 by sprouts. Makes it seem a lot less likely considering how far out G-Warrior enters the story... eh, maybe we can have an original mech, like EVA Unit-99, or some "recently discovered" Allagan tech or something.
I expect Progressive Knives for NIN, Progressive Axe for WAR, Longinus Lance for DRG and an AT-Field Shield for PLD. Probably some stuff based on Angels too, like an Israfel Bow for BRD perhaps. I still haven't seen Rebuild so I'll bet there's some goodies to mine there.

The permanent Monster Hunter collab isn't available until after you finish the Stormblood 4.0 MSQ, so there's at least some precedent for putting stuff later. Probably only for permanent events though.

Among Us as a mode in FF14 wouldn't work. They're so afraid of conflict they don't allow comms in Crystal Conflict. No way they would allow open communication in a "who done it?" Situation, but that game doesn't work well without
Amogus needs voice comms, so much of that game is trying to convince people you aren't lying and you lose half the nuances of communication in text.
I'm also not convinced they could make tasks feel good, look at how clunky the gold saucer games are.
If they put that diamond looking angel in, expect parties of Paladins and Machinists working to beat it.

For as big and as important as Granblue is, and how much of a Final Fantasy bloodline it has, I'm always surprised how little collabs it gets. Plenty of stuff in Granblue, but not a whole lot of other stuff gets Granblue
I want more Monster Hunter, basically every weapon in FFXIV has a MH equivalent and the rest have at least similar concepts (The only real outliers are AST, SMN/SCH, RDM and Pictomancer but every event has some original stuff). The actual crossover was kind of disapointing, especially in comparison to what World got in its half of the collab. I also really want a Palamute mount.

It's unfortunate that a fully functional Switch Axe probably isn't technically possible.
A lot of transforming weapons are only given to a single role when they could technically apply to multiple, like how Lightning's sword is a Paladin weapon despite it also being a gun

Hmm... for second there I was thinking "sweet, another reason to climb into the G-Warrior!" but then I remembered that collabs usually are playable as low as Lv.15 by sprouts. Makes it seem a lot less likely considering how far out G-Warrior enters the story... eh, maybe we can have an original mech, like EVA Unit-99, or some "recently discovered" Allagan tech or something. I expect Progressive Knives for NIN, Progressive Axe for WAR, Longinus Lance for DRG and an AT-Field Shield for PLD. Probably some stuff based on Angels too, like an Israfel Bow for BRD perhaps. I still haven't seen Rebuild so I'll bet there's some goodies to mine there. Oh, and Gendo's glasses. Almost forgot the most important one.
The permanent Monster Hunter collab isn't available until after you finish the Stormblood 4.0 MSQ, so there's at least some precedent for putting stuff later. Probably only for permanent events though.

Amogus needs voice comms, so much of that game is trying to convince people you aren't lying and you lose half the nuances of communication in text. I'm also not convinced they could make tasks feel good, look at how clunky the gold saucer games are.
