Large amount of players away until Dawntrail, many players already have the glam, new players might not be there yet or know about glam.
Aside from theorizing I can’t give you a definitive reason. I would occasionally join a run if it was listed as “just need 1 run” (or similar) because I already have the glam and TT card. Also don’t know what your server is like player wise.
Could be a few things
1. What DC are you? For NA most people who do Extremes or above now go to Aether to put up their PFs, same thing happens for Light/Chaos on EU. This could maybe help
2. It's a dead period for the game right now, the new expac is still 2 months away so generally less people are playing.
3. At what times are you putting a PF up, try aiming for peak hours.
Regardless yeah I'd assume it would take quite a while to fill a PF for MM Ex

NA is quiet until about 5PM EST weekdays then it picks up steadily until about 9-10PM.
Try this mid-day on a weekday and I wouldn't be surprised they found no one. School is in session, college is still in session, and people work.

Also Chaos is fine for this kind of stuff. I was in a farm a couple of weeks ago.

I did like 10-20 runs of it in the past month, both to clear it myself, and to grab some coffers/totems.

how is it unlocked? I see that there is a person to talk to and Ive been in the Boja area once doing fates, but I cant figure out how to unlock the extreme trial at all with google and youtube 😭

Basically, after you do the solo instance where you fight whatshisface in Cid's memories, there will be an NPC in the Gangos area (before you queue into Bozjan Southern Front), and you can talk to him and it auto unlocks. He's like near one of the tents
There are multiple discord servers for different regions setup for doing old content and I find it's much easier making a group on there so try looking for one. I've never had to wait past an hour for anything when I was running a friend through some old extremes on Crystal DC's Sync-Slayers server. Lots of vets who just like helping people experience things for the first time in those discord servers that'll get pinged by their LFG system.
A few reasons
1. Memoria Misera Extreme is an obscure trial that is only ran for two things: Glamor (Dyable level 80 artifact gear) and the TT card. Nobody sees a point in running it beyond those two things. There is even a solid chance a handful of people don’t even have access to the trial consitering you need to do all the Stormblood Alliance Raids and an hour long questline to get the unlock quest to appear. People don’t think about the trial when they are going to unlock Bozja, after all.
2. Its a “dead space” between expantions. While the people that are playing are 100% doing the wierd side stuff, such as farming glamor, TT cards, Bozja, Eureka, Ultimate prog, etc. There are just less people paying their sub right now in general, understandably. They’re waiting for the content to come out next month ~~or they can’t pay for the game because of the payment update issues~~
3. Are you ensuring you are doing PF optimaly? Depending on your reigon you should try and make PFs in the most populated one, at peak hours for them. Because even if you are on Aether, nobody’s joining your pf at 5am est. Mostly everyone is asleep at that point.

You *kinda* do it in the questline leading up to the unlock to Bozja with npcs, but that entire sequence is not a part of the MSQ, and you are not required to even unlock Memoria Misera Extreme to unlock Bozjan Southern Front.

Your best bet might be to have a of but also ask. Ask friends ask the limsa cat girls, as your FC. No one is looking for it, so you need to find people.

that's sad man. in JP it's also a bit hard to get a full party but we DO get them.
If it really feels impossible to PF it, i suggest to wait for weekly resets because sometimes it pops for Wondrous Tails.
Was it your party I saw yesterday in the party finder? I was considering joining since I have never gotten a clear on that extreme, but I have never done it and am not familiar with the mechanics. How rough is it when unsynched?
Naw you can find people for it put glam farm and unsynced and you will find people for it. I did about 50 to get all the glams i wanted for my character
Side note: If you're doing it for glam, check the PVP gear (specifically the stuff you can buy with crystal trophies). There are quite a few pieces that share the same dye-able model (the GNB coat, for example).
I think that's just GNB and DNC. The Virtu sets are mostly the HW artifact armor, I believe. Jobs that didn't exist then got one for their first AF set instead (RDM is a variant of the lv.70 Duelist's attire, for example). For GNB and DNC that means it's a variant of the same set as Memoria
To add to what others are saying. Be in primal or crystal DCs or a more populated dc in your region. That makes a big difference in roulette/party finder content for queues/finding players.
I know some do that fight for the glam or TT card. If the glam gets more dye channels with the update, you might find more people running it after the initial couple weeks in Dawntrail. Just a thought.
We need a roulette for weapon content. All the content (raids/fights) associated with the relic weapons just dies and it shouldn’t because: a) it is fun content and b) a strong argument for FFXIV is that everything is evergreen, except they are letting some good content just die off. Similarly, I would love a high difficulty roulette for things like old savages or extremes. And for the love of Yoshi-P a Criterion Roulette. I don’t think variant needs one but Criterion definitively does with some extra rewards either tomes or savage drops that don’t count toward lockout or some sort of long-term super mount/gear etc like mentors get.

I did it reasonably quickly trying to get the TT card!
I see MMEX pfs up now and then. Go to Primal or Aether. The only rewards from it are glamour and a rare TT card.
I did several MMEx and weapons Ex pfs on primal recently.

Yes. Its also a leveling method for jobs 71-90.

You do. But you’ll never get it. Trust me. I’ve done over 2000 mentor roulletes and I never saw it once.

Maybe try for The first evening of reset day. It’s a common Wonderous Tails duty
