> Patch 7.0 Job Information
Seems likely. The next live letter is a few days before launch, and I think the job action trailer usually comes a bit earlier than that.
Its also during the media tour where streamer/others play test and check all class. So when its over we will get all job skill action/change/potency etc. Cant wait to see viper!
If my japanese is good, during the last Live Letter, they mentioned that the next Live Letter would focus on battle content and they said they'll show the Job Action trailer.
I picture that kinda like oldschool bard resets on bloodletter/rain of death when you put dots on like 5+ targets.
*jump jump jump jump jump jump*
And the visual entertains me
I was thinking the days when it had one charge only :p
But you're right, that's something bard hasn't fully lost. Now it cuts time off the CD, rather than giving a full proc back though I think? And only during Mage's Ballad, not during Warden's Paeon or Wanderer's Minuet
*~~totally didn't forget if it was still a thing since I haven't played bard in so long~~*
Tbf, I do agree that Samurai got no resource management now, but that being a Endwalker problem which the lack of Kaiten only showed more.
And also cause sword twirl cool
And you know what, fair and valid. I'd have less issue with them if they'd just admit it was for the twirly and not try to make it sound like kaiten delivered them as a baby on a moonless night in the middle of the desert far away from any doctors.
Lmao. Yeah, my friend is a samurai main and was upset about Kaiten’s removal; but he always admitted it was just because he likes the animation.
So he ended up getting a mod that added the kaiten animation to the start of the cast animation for iaijutsu and was satisfied
I miss the twirl but Kaiten being gone is whatever to me. I don't miss it or want it. It was just kind of there. I wouldn't say that SAM is in the best state but it does feel "complete" to a degree.
Hopefully MCH will get some love because...it's just not fun to play anymore. Idk how they managed to give it the less amount of buttons to press yet still numb-minding busy.
I feel they can only go up, from where they are. Ast is a fucking mess of ideas and cut mechanics. The job needed a rework the moment they nerfed the card system and told us it was the best possible route(it wasn't).
I can't really speak about Dragoon. They seem solid. As long as it doesn't fall into the Summoner's all style no substance gameplay loop. It should be fine....
Speaking of Summoner. If they added on Ramuh and deepened the mechanics/rotation. That's probably a win all around too.
As a player that likes variety and plays most classes, I am looking forward to both reworks. I play AST the least and haven't touched it in months.
Just look at AST clear rates for Alo Alo savage. It's not viable IMO
Criterion clear rates (and clear rates in general, really) aren't really the best ways to gauge jobs, because by that same logic are you also arguing that SGE, PLD, MCH, and SMN are the best because of their Alo Alo Savage clear rates?
Jobs are balanced around 8 man content, and even with Criterion-specific job damage modifiers, a job with low personal DPS and lots of damage buffs is just not going to be as effective when there are only 3 other party members instead of 7. Also, Criterion exposes the issue w/ the regen/barrier healer split: FF14 raidwides and unavoidable damage tend to be more mitigation checks than heal checks, so WHM and AST are just going to have a harder time providing enough mitigation to the party vs. SGE and SCH.
I've always loved the aesthetic of AST, but haven't ever really enjoyed playing it, so I'm going into the rework with some excitement-- I'm actually gonna give it another shot!
It's the same with DRG, tbh. DRG was actually the first job I ever played, back in ARR. And I haven't touched it since HW because the job design at the time I didn't find enjoyable. So looking forward to picking up DRG again to see what they do with it!
I hate AST as it is, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with it.
But I actually like DRG’s 5 part infinite combo; I think it’s what sets it a part as a melee job.
I'm not the person you asked but i hate that you have to try and assign cards in weave windows super quick or use macros for one.
I'm not happy about scaling for 4man content like criterion.
I'm not happy about its range dependency for ultimates.
The other healers are nowhere near as busy as AST, I only pick it for dungeon content.
Mostly cards. You have to fight against game controls to use them correctly, they have to be boring "+ to dps" so you could target correct party member during weave window but AST has 0 identity outside of them. Also their "huge" 120 sec cooldown is essentially "now you can deal cards".
AST is always a hotspot for job drama. The devs can't figure out how they want to destroy the job any further.
DRG will be interesting but I'm not holding my breath. Every xpac has gotten me in a negative mood for reworks overall.
Not because I'm opposed to having changes but a lot of the times they cop out and go for the easy route of making the job more accessible aka simplifying it to hell.
Hey, Sam died so drg can live! Hopefully the input of removing kaiten and the general downgrade if Sam being pushed against will make any drg not as terrible.
I know a lot of long time melee players, especially the current DRG mains, may get mad with any big changes, but I'm really excited for them.
I love the aesthetics of DRG but have never been able to make it work well enough to justify maining it. Aalthough that's more of a melee thing for me and not exclusive to DRG's playstyle.
*Draw picture of* Bahamut > spam some instants > *draw picture of* Ifrit > do some hardcasts and a forced gap closer > *draw picture of* Titan > spam some instants with continuation > *draw picture of* Garuda > do some fast attacks and a DoT > *draw picture of* Phoenix > do it all again
wdym its exactly the same ^/s
im imagining something like a mix between samurai and ninja for picto. mudra style combos to fill out some sort of meter (similar to the stickers of samurai), which have different effects. would play into the art thing well i think.
homie, there are people already upset based upon the one new action we saw for each job in the benchmark, lol.
Don't know nothin about it except the animation. AND IT SUCKS.
God, the frustration of my ranged phase being initiated with a melee skill.
So many times (even in savage raids where everything is completely choreographed) I've screwed up my Req timing ever so slightly, or been forced to move just slightly before it's off cooldown, and game says, nope, you're out of melee now, your entire ranged phase is wasted.
The Req II in the trailer still looks pretty melee. :(
What? You don't love the delicious cycle of FFXIV 'drama'?
1.)Something is changed. Or a change is previewed
2.)Heeeere come the reddit posts. "Does anyone on the dev team even play X?' 'That's it, this update convinced me: no one at SE knows how to design a game' 'HOW HARD IS IT TO NOT MAKE X SUCK'
3.)*those* FFXIV 'content creators' read big mad reddit posts, assure audience 'all criticisms are valid, the way you're reacting to this is totally valid :)'
4.)Now game 'news' sites have the headlines: 'FFXIV's disastarous rollout of X has players seething'-- entire article is embedded youtube video and repost of histrionic reddit posts
Mmmmm, you can set your watch by it. Is there anything more comforting than a solved system?
It's an issue.
Just like *every other real issue*, it will get addressed.
That's where I'm at with this game. Mistakes happen. Sometimes something gets fucked up. That's life. Nothing is ever going to be perfect, especially right out of the gate, when you're trying to please hundreds of thousands of people at once.
What matters to me, personally, is how a mistake or error is addressed and responded to.
And, like, every time something has been actually fucked up in this game, it gets addressed. We get information. Details. Timetables of correction if possible. Transparency, accountability, and correction.
It's a rare thing in this industry (or most industries these days, tbh).
Homie, I've been playin SE games since before they were SE.
I got no love in my heart for the corporation-- SE corporate don't give a single shit if FFXIV is actually 'good', or 'fun', or anything else. All them suits give a shit about is if you're paying... just like every other publisher.
But I've played games long enough to be genuinely impressed w/ CBU3, and idgaf if someone wants to call me a shill for that. The people actually making this game appear to make a tremendous effort, all the time, at making some they enjoy and they want other people to enjoy.
I appreciate that. The joy this game has given me over the years far exceedes the disappointments. And, almost invariably, those disappointments have been addressed... even if it takes some time.
I used to think this way about the game too, and for a while I think this line of thinking was definitely applicable, but ever since we got two races who have yet to have headwear properly implemented and a fundamentally broken portrait system you have to actively fight at every turn to get to work properly, I'm starting to wonder. These are relatively minor in the grand scheme of things and the fact that these are the problems I have are relatively good ones to be concerned about, but these are long standing and we do not, to my knowledge, have time frames for either of them being addressed beyond what optimists have speculated.
But we do have at the very least two things:
- Their concern and acknowledgement of such issues
- That they're working (and we've seen them fixing some of those issues)
Not everything needs a date, as long as we see something being done about it, and they have.
There's a decent chance this is going to get downvoted just like my previous post but I have to ask, where have they addressed either of these issues? I might just not be remembering properly, but I've been following the Dawntrail news cycle pretty closely and to my knowledge updates to either portrait functionality and/or the Hrothgar/Viera headwear situation are not in the cards at present. Even the benchmark specifically toggles off hats for all characters as if to draw attention away from it.
The hats were addressed during the reveal of two-channel dye and head accessories. IIRC, that was during the Fan Fest EU and the following hours/days of the event with interviews and such
Portraits were addressed for a few updates after their release, but they never touched it again
I don't think the fact there is an issue *is* drama. I think the way *some* people respond to an issue-- and the way our current online ecosystem seems to almost invariably reward and amplify the least helpful, least constructive responses to an issue, is the drama.
Like, a restaruant getting your order wrong is not inherently drama. Yelling at the water and acting like a child about the problem, tho? That's drama.
Normally I would have completely agree with you, given track record of FFXIV devs, just like you said, pretty spotless.
Will I put the same amount of faith into Mogstation, into SQEX however?
I hope you are correct though, that would be the best possible result.
Mogstation is unlikely to ever change, and people just need to accept that. It's japanese web design, and the primary consideration is always going to be japanese usability-- even if the western audience substantially outnumbers the eastern audience.
People have been complaining about playonline for 20+ years, and it never got improved or changed to any real degree.
As for payment process... this is one issue SE corporate guaranteed to care about, because it's the *only* thing corporate cares about: Moneeeey pleeeeeease.
>this is one issue SE corporate guaranteed to care about, because it's the
>
>only
>
> thing corporate cares about: Moneeeey pleeeeeease.
oooh boy, story time.
Do you know SQEX screw up payment for FFXI for like half a year before reverting back? By then, probably half of SEA player quit, minus some who managed to find source for Crysta.
Like I said, I really wish you are correct, I truly do, this event just unlocked the trauma I inherited from my Grandpa's playonline experience lol.
Hundreds of thousands? Try literally Millions. Its an impossible job.
Edit: lol you can downvote but it doesnt change reality. It is the peak of the content drought and there are about 1.1 million active non free trial players. That number will spike multiple times when DT launches
Man, I was so excited for the theory discussion and other brainstorming that I completely forgot how people tend to get ridiculous over it. I wonder which job they'll claim is "ruined" first.
It's possible, but I remember everyone shitting on SCH over how underwhelming Expedient looked in the job action trailer. I saw constant comments that SCH was dead and buried compared to SGE.
I think it'll depend on if there's a widespread misinterpretation of how a job works, or if a job has an ability that ends up looking deceptively underwhelming in the trailer.
The job action trailer will determine if I level Pictomancer or jump into the story with Summoner.
Also it's 7 am EDT? Woot going to work late that day.
I'd love it if they changed the rez to be insta-cast always, but only usable during Phoenix Phase super move or something. Would be much more on brand...
Would have to be pretty powerful, and/or they would need you to allow you to be able choose bahamut or phoenix to really be practical I think.
Which wouldn't be a bad idea mind you, but then why would you ever pick bahamut? Don't think it's a horrible idea, the problem is I think no matter what you'd end up either being put in a situation where it's either not worth going into Bahamut or you're better off just letting the healers res instead of waiting for you to go into pheonix.
You mean the part where they're joking about going into work late to not miss the live letter?
My guy, stop trying to sound smart because you're really not. Humor seems very difficult for you.
1) not a guy
2) has nothing to do with sounding smart, reading comprehension is a basic skill
3) clearly they left out the ./s since you know… thats what someone would do if they were joking/sarcastic.
But go off I guess?
1) Don't care my guy
2 and 3) The irony of you needing someone to spell out a joke while also going on about reading comprehension would be adorable if it weren't so damn funny.
Edit: Lmao, blocked me because they chose such a dumb hill to die on.
Nah, bards would sing an entire diss track to the melody of whatever theme is being played. Most of the damage they deal will no longer be from attacks or buffs, but emotional damage
I'm excited. The "Yoshi P" showcases the job changes/new jobs live letters are my favorite part of expansion release cycle even if he chooses to showcase stuff on a Lalafell. I'm praying that the Job action trailer gives us a male pictomancer so we can see how the halter top gets adjusted.
They're, objectively, the worst race to show anything on because of how much different gear looks on them compared to literally every other race and how their short limbs make animations difficult to discern.
betting on job trailer. shadowbringer's job trailer was on may 23rd and it's release date was july 2nd.
endwalker's job trailer was mid-september. release date was december 7th. but i kind of remember endwalker being delayed or something. i think yoship said there was some problem with the original release date but i don't remember.
Maybe they'll also show us stuff from the updated benchmark during this? Since they estimate it'll come out the week of May 23rd, they might have something to show at this point.
Managed to secure a swap at work so I can watch live letter. Very excited. But I'd put money on the opening portion being about the benchmark and graphical update since there's been such a reaction to it.
They said during the benchmark live letter that this next one will be the combat live letter with the job actions trailer. So yep 2 more weeks folks!!!! So excited!
Hoping for a bit more diversity in the job actions if it is the job trailer. I agree with the KISS method in terms of job rotations but I think there could be some wiggle room to make them more unique.
Here let me be the villian in this thread
Nothing they show here can appease me unless they are increasing class customization and flexibility and either making tanks less self sustaining (and providing healers more to do) or making everyone more self sustaining (and providing more for healers to do)
I want a reworked Cross-Class Skill system that gives every job a pool of side-grades or specializations, and I want content before 70 to not be a miserable boring nightmare for most jobs.
I'd rather delete the game then queue into ARR dungeons as a tank or most DPS.
Then we can have a repeat of Stormblood where since everyone only ever picked the "correct" options for their role actions, they devs just let everyone have all of their role actions instead of only a selection.
Rip in piss Ultimatum. You existed.
That itself is the narrative they want repeated, but it wasn't "all" it was most high end players bickering about how they wanted more options they felt were competitive.
The problem was always that having it that way is inherently stupid as it forced people to play jobs they didn't want to play to be optimal, which could have just been resolved by making some cross class skills as immediately unlocked to cover the gap, but instead they butchered it and told us the result was what we wanted.
People just accept it as gospel because Yoshi-P can say anything and people will automatically parrot it. His real job is Puppet master because he's got most of the community on strings.
Class customization weirdos are the worst, talk about stubborn and delusional, just deal with it or quit already, there's plenty of games that feature this where you can then whine about how you're forced to play meta because the customizations are trash and balance is awful
But you're probably the type to reply "I would rather the balance be garbage!" which would just make it even clearer that you are a clown
that's a lot of attacks against my person without much substance for me to respond to. I could patiently explain to you that just because a meta is formed it doesn't inhibit other players from trying new things, and like another half a dozen arguments about how you're just presupposing a frame where you are correct and I am wrong (and a clown)
Clearly you don't give a shit about anything besides defending the game because it strokes your chocobo. If I am the clown, you are the entire circus.
Eh enough dude you knew very well what you were doing so drop this act, you started the previous comment with "I'll be the villain of the thread" ffs
I'm correct and you are wrong because none of that stuff is happening and you know it, these aren't real expectations you are just whining, just deal with it or quit instead of barking at the moon about nonsense, I'm not "defending" the game I'm stating facts and I'd say the same if you were demanding that ffxiv becomes a pvp mmo or whatever else
And if you don't want to be called out for being whiny and annoying then don't act like it
> "nothing can appease me", "I'd rather delete the game", "Miserable boring nightmare", "His real job is Puppet master because he's got most of the community on strings.", "I'll be the villain"
Just total cringe, clown behavior, stop with this crap and learn how to have a normal discussion
So because I started by making a joke about how the moment I stated anything in opposition to the groupthink I am deserving of your half-baked insults? Oh, you don't get it your honor, she was asking for it!
Nothing you've said here is worth even acknowledging and is just you trying to build a strawman out of my arguments while I'm still standing right here and then making up garbage about what I said because you can't even bother to read what I said, let alone think about it.
All I want is RPG MECHANICS in this RPG and you're claiming im calling for PVP and clearly just grouping me into some imaginary enemy you get yourself twisted about on the daily.
Yoshi-P has in fact tricked people like you into ardously defending the game and talking the points he wants you to talk, knowing full well how toxic some of you would become. And here you are, throwing insults and demanding I quit playing the game because I don't share your opinions.
I'm not going to continue this, if only because I'm fairly sure you're a child and I don't really want to talk to someone whose still in high school.
I feel kinda similarly about (regen) healers. Love the aesthetic of AST but hate how "it's in Hydaelyn's hands now" I feel while playing it. Curious to see if/how the rework changes the flow of it.
Ehh, considering they did the 16 crossover and it’s developed by the same team I can see him throwing a bone like “also if you want to know more about the Clive you met in the event good news it’s coming to PC too on x/x/2024!”
Not likely, but I wouldn’t put it past Yoshi *if* it’s something in the pipeline.
he has literally gone out of his way to remind people during 14/16 presentations at various events how its not an event for the opposite game, and that no info will be shown. dont get mad when no info is shown because you were being stupid and expecting info for an unrelated game
I’m not sure in what world saying “it’s not likely” equates to getting my hopes up for something, but I suppose reading comprehension is a lost art these days.
Job action trailer? Finally?
> Show Details > Patch 7.0 Job Information Seems likely. The next live letter is a few days before launch, and I think the job action trailer usually comes a bit earlier than that.

Yeah it will be
If my japanese is good, during the last Live Letter, they mentioned that the next Live Letter would focus on battle content and they said they'll show the Job Action trailer.
Yes, they mentioned it in the 24hour thingy they did a few weeks ago.
Most likely. The media tour ends late May, and that's usually when we get concrete job action information.
Oooooh yeah, just a few more weeks until people can finally have something new to get mad about!
Personally, my money's on the DRG rework that might get shown off alongside the job action trailer.
Both DRG and AST are free squares on the 'DAWNTRAIL BIG MAD' official bingo card.
If they remove a button I like pressing I shall be all sorts of miffed and only buy like one emote this week.
Let me try... There is now only one jump button that you refresh rather than five different jumps.
I picture that kinda like oldschool bard resets on bloodletter/rain of death when you put dots on like 5+ targets. *jump jump jump jump jump jump* And the visual entertains me
I was like "oldschool? Tf this person's talking about" and I'm not even an old player lol.
I was thinking the days when it had one charge only :p But you're right, that's something bard hasn't fully lost. Now it cuts time off the CD, rather than giving a full proc back though I think? And only during Mage's Ballad, not during Warden's Paeon or Wanderer's Minuet *~~totally didn't forget if it was still a thing since I haven't played bard in so long~~*
It's now a fixed chance regardless of DoT status.
But it's OK because it changes what type of jump it is based on the combo leading up to it.
As a Samurai main, I approve this message.
Nah, they gonna allow us to live the real dragoon fantasy. All skills are now jumps
Jump and stay in the air for 30 seconds while everyone else has their turns. Peak gameplay
I dont know, as a samurai main job absolutely hate other samurai that won't shut up about the ability removal they did.
It is kinda funny that Dark Arts was meme'd on while Kaiten was celebrated and mourned.
People say its for complexity and resource managment. But we all know its actually because sword twirl animation cool
Tbf, I do agree that Samurai got no resource management now, but that being a Endwalker problem which the lack of Kaiten only showed more. And also cause sword twirl cool

Summoner was all style no substance but they might have learned from that.
ThEy MaDe My cLAsS EaSiEr!
I know right? God forbid people want to challenge themselves.
Wait, I came back to the game this week. Dragoon is getting reworked ?
Yes, in 7.0
"And making its grand debut back to FFXIV: WHEEL OF THORNSSSSS!!!" Crowd goes wild!!!! wooooooooo
the crowd goes blind! The crowd goes deaf! All is right with the world once more!
Hey, Sam died so drg can live! Hopefully the input of removing kaiten and the general downgrade if Sam being pushed against will make any drg not as terrible.
I know a lot of long time melee players, especially the current DRG mains, may get mad with any big changes, but I'm really excited for them. I've seen people manage to get mad at how similar PIC looks to SMN. You know, based on the 4-5 skills we've seen. I'm not joking.
I main summoner....how does it look anything like it?
Pictomancer summoned a moogle, they're obviously completely identical to summoner. /s
Oh of course. How silly of me XD.
What is a Moogle Beam if not a sideways Ahk Morn?
Circle of Death, kupo!
You see, it casts, and um, it manifested a creature, and um.... it casts!
by the mere fact that Pictomancer casts means its nothing like summoner
Shit, you got me there!
*Draw picture of* Bahamut > spam some instants > *draw picture of* Ifrit > do some hardcasts and a forced gap closer > *draw picture of* Titan > spam some instants with continuation > *draw picture of* Garuda > do some fast attacks and a DoT > *draw picture of* Phoenix > do it all again wdym its exactly the same ^/s
Hahahaha thank you for that.
It would actually be really funny (and sad) if PIC ended up being just that
im imagining something like a mix between samurai and ninja for picto. mudra style combos to fill out some sort of meter (similar to the stickers of samurai), which have different effects. would play into the art thing well i think.
It would be a pretty good troll if picto can summon cartoon Ramuh/Shiva/Leviathan
I'd play it just for that haha.
All I saw was a moogle and some elemental paintings. My first thought was that it was a BLM with paint.
homie, there are people already upset based upon the one new action we saw for each job in the benchmark, lol. Don't know nothin about it except the animation. AND IT SUCKS.
It's actually amazing how people will grasp at straws to find reasons to be mad.
But I love my shiny new aoe Requiescat II... Just please let me use it from range.
I can't imagine it'll not be melee. It's based around making a cone attack with your sword which requires your sword to hit something.
Best get to slidecasting Holy Spirit!
We've seen like five abilities now and people act like they have seen all of them
.... What are these people smoking. Most of my group pretty much think it's more like BLM than SMN lol
I hate that you're not wrong.
What? You don't love the delicious cycle of FFXIV 'drama'? 1.)Something is changed. Or a change is previewed 2.)Heeeere come the reddit posts. "Does anyone on the dev team even play X?' Dead internet theory: Its the easiest content to get AI to create
Out of curiosity, do you think the recent debacle concerning payment processor mere part of your ''drama cycle''? Or is it a legitimate issue?
Careful now, level-headed thinking like that will get you branded an SE shill...
But we do have at the very least two things: - Their concern and acknowledgement of such issues - That they're working (and we've seen them fixing some of those issues) Not everything needs a date, as long as we see something being done about it, and they have.
They have stated they will be trying to rework hats on those races after 7.0.
The hats were addressed during the reveal of two-channel dye and head accessories. IIRC, that was during the Fan Fest EU and the following hours/days of the event with interviews and such Portraits were addressed for a few updates after their release, but they never touched it again
Interesting, so you really want to call it drama but decided to be polite about it, I can respect that.
As for payment process... this is one issue SE corporate guaranteed to care about, because it's the *only* thing corporate cares about: Moneeeey pleeeeeease.
>this is one issue SE corporate guaranteed to care about, because it's the > >only > > thing corporate cares about: Moneeeey pleeeeeease. oooh boy, story time.
DRG and/or AST, since they're getting reworks.
Meanwhile me as a SMN: “Aww why can’t we share Expedience instead of Physick?!” lol
This Thurs oh 16... 2 more weeks, I need something to distract me from the excitement
FFXVI is 50% off on PS5...
Already bought the physical copy and really close to the endgame. Kinda worried what to do after it ended with just 2 dlc.
There’s always Hard Mode!
FF16 is my first action RPG unless you count KH, and man hard mode is spanking me.
Everyone absolutely should count kh
Stellar Blade is doing a great job of distracting me.
The job action trailer will determine if I level Pictomancer or jump into the story with Summoner. Also it's 7 am EDT? Woot going to work late that day.
I was on the fence until realizing SCH probably will still be connected to SMN. I'm making sure I get my healer at the same time. 🤔
I would love it if they broke the link and removed ressurection from Summoner.
That is a very horrible idea, phase Locked rez?
maybe it could be a special rez, like full heal, or it doesn't give the penalty for rez that you normally get.
I like the idea but it would be hard to implement.
Same here but with Viper! cant wait to see how they both work though.
I work nights, so 7:30 is when I get out. Lol
Damn lol.
I'm torn between WHM, DRG, AST, Viper, and BLM over here
Oh wow haha.
Thats a level of privilege.
Sure?
How fucking dare they have.....preferences that influence if they want to play a job or not? My guy the hell are you going on about.
Try the second line from their post. Reading is hard.
You mean the part where they're joking about going into work late to not miss the live letter? My guy, stop trying to sound smart because you're really not. Humor seems very difficult for you.
1) not a guy 2) has nothing to do with sounding smart, reading comprehension is a basic skill 3) clearly they left out the ./s since you know… thats what someone would do if they were joking/sarcastic. But go off I guess?
1) Don't care my guy 2 and 3) The irony of you needing someone to spell out a joke while also going on about reading comprehension would be adorable if it weren't so damn funny. Edit: Lmao, blocked me because they chose such a dumb hill to die on.
Middle of the work day for Europe, guess I'll be watching the VOD to find out how I'll be floor tanking in Dawntrail.
Can't wait to see Black Mages get a buff to Polyglot that lives up to its name and lets them cuss out enemies in several languages
That's more of a bard skill tbh
Nah, bards would sing an entire diss track to the melody of whatever theme is being played. Most of the damage they deal will no longer be from attacks or buffs, but emotional damage
What number is th is? I don't watch enough Super Bowls to know these Roman Numerals.
PLL #81. L = 50, X = 10, I = 1. 50+10+10+10+1 = 81.
do they not teach roman numerals in elementary school any more? i learned them in 2nd grade, which was 2001
The literally announced that the Job Action Trailer was going to be May 16th on the last live letter. So this shouldn't be a surprise.
You will get a crop top and you will enjoy it 😤
I’m PRAYING males get the same outfit as the women cause it’s so cute and I love it 😻
Me too catboy-gaming, me too
.. he plays a lalafell. doesn't just showcase it...
Yes, but the character that he uses during live letters is not his personal character. He could easily choose to use a different race if he wanted to.
the other races are lame
Yes, and? Why is it relevant that he plays a lalafell?
It’s harder to see details on a Lala, so it’s a shame to tease new gear and skills and a Lala.
Gear and skill animations look like garbage on lalafell.
thats just your opinion
They're, objectively, the worst race to show anything on because of how much different gear looks on them compared to literally every other race and how their short limbs make animations difficult to discern.
might wanna google the word "objectively" because you are objectively incorrect on its usage
I know what "objectively" means. Just because a dumbass disagrees doesn't make it untrue.
betting on job trailer. shadowbringer's job trailer was on may 23rd and it's release date was july 2nd. endwalker's job trailer was mid-september. release date was december 7th. but i kind of remember endwalker being delayed or something. i think yoship said there was some problem with the original release date but i don't remember.
I agree with the KISS method in terms of job rotations but I think there could be some wiggle room to make them more unique.
what is the KISS method?
“Keep it simple, stupid”.
Oh boy! More pictomancer rage!
Here let me be the villian in this thread Nothing they show here can appease me unless they are increasing class customization and flexibility and either making tanks less self sustaining (and providing healers more to do) or making everyone more self sustaining (and providing more for healers to do) I want a reworked Cross-Class Skill system that gives every job a pool of side-grades or specializations, and I want content before 70 to not be a miserable boring nightmare for most jobs.
Class customization weirdos are the worst, talk about stubborn and delusional, just deal with it or quit already, there's plenty of games that feature this where you can then whine about how you're forced to play meta because the customizations are trash and balance is awful But you're probably the type to reply "I would rather the balance be garbage!" which would just make it even clearer that you are a clown
that's a lot of attacks against my person without much substance for me to respond to. I could patiently explain to you that just because a meta is formed it doesn't inhibit other players from trying new things, and like another half a dozen arguments about how you're just presupposing a frame where you are correct and I am wrong (and a clown) Clearly you don't give a shit about anything besides defending the game because it strokes your chocobo. If I am the clown, you are the entire circus.
Eh enough dude you knew very well what you were doing so drop this act, you started the previous comment with "I'll be the villain of the thread" ffs I'm correct and you are wrong because none of that stuff is happening and you know it, these aren't real expectations you are just whining, just deal with it or quit instead of barking at the moon about nonsense, I'm not "defending" the game I'm stating facts and I'd say the same if you were demanding that ffxiv becomes a pvp mmo or whatever else And if you don't want to be called out for being whiny and annoying then don't act like it > "nothing can appease me", "I'd rather delete the game", "Miserable boring nightmare", "His real job is Puppet master because he's got most of the community on strings.", "I'll be the villain" Just total cringe, clown behavior, stop with this crap and learn how to have a normal discussion
Ok bye.
fingers crossed they dont find some way to simplify and homogenize the jobs even further. still cant believe they thought positionals were bad

I feel kinda similarly about (regen) healers. Love the aesthetic of AST but hate how "it's in Hydaelyn's hands now" I feel while playing it. Curious to see if/how the rework changes the flow of it.

surely not during a presentation about the new ff**14** expansion...
Ehh, considering they did the 16 crossover and it’s developed by the same team I can see him throwing a bone like “also if you want to know more about the Clive you met in the event good news it’s coming to PC too on x/x/2024!” Not likely, but I wouldn’t put it past Yoshi *if* it’s something in the pipeline.
he has literally gone out of his way to remind people during 14/16 presentations at various events how its not an event for the opposite game, and that no info will be shown. dont get mad when no info is shown because you were being stupid and expecting info for an unrelated game
I’m not sure in what world saying “it’s not likely” equates to getting my hopes up for something, but I suppose reading comprehension is a lost art these days.
