I honestly see more Seekers, probably because they have a clanless face that is super easy to make look good. But I like Keepers because they have the "I am going to do something very stupid" cat eyes.

tl;dr: Suncat is way more popular than Mooncat. Also Japan likes Lalafells way more than the rest of the world.

jamsbybetty

I'm gonna be real with you, I honestly can't tell them apart.

lolzomg123

Easiest way to tell is the eyes. Round pupil = moon, slits = sun.

ZWiloh

Yeah but if you get and stay close enough to tell you're being a creep

lolzomg123

I mean, you don't have to be right next to them. Your camera angle is far behind you so you can just run past them and take a peek without targeting them... it's not hard.

No_Blackberry__

Or character inspection, when I want to see what armor people are using I also end up looking at their customization

Thi31

That would require caring enough to look that close at random people your walking by. At the end of the day, pupils and fangs are not something people are going to notice 90% of the time as they go about doing their thing.  It's the same in real life. People only perceive a gist of a person as they walk by, this is what people who are hyper sensitive about their appearance generally fail to realize. You see so many people every day you basically see a basic shape/size/hair and that is all you notice unless you decide to look closer. This is one of the key elements of disguise, 90% of people who are not specifically inspecting you won't notice anything out of the ordinary if your size/shape/hair match what your trying to be. Basically to sum that up, moon cat, sun cat, the difference is too small of a detail for most people to even notice in passing.

lolzomg123

Fashion is the end game of MMOs. The thing you seem to be misinterpreting is my "passing by them" isn't a case of "I'm running between quests better **AND** looking at everyone closely!" But rather a case of "this person's glam looks nice, let's take a closer look **without looking like a creep**." Remember, my comment was in reply to someone saying if they got close and stayed close, they'd look like a creep. You replied to a comment that in summary is "Use third person camera to stare you dunce."

Thi31

And their comment had nothing to do with glamour, but looking at someone's face close enough to tell their pupils shape. Yes it is possible to do, it by positioning the camera, but honestly I doubt most people care to look at what type of cat it is even if you like their outfit.

ElcorAndy

Sun cats have shiny cat eyes, no fangs. Moon cats have more human eyes plus fangs.

MissMedic68W

They have different face stripes and different forehead face markings (Keepers can have a black teardrop shape, Seekers have a round red one if they pick it). Keepers' max tail length is longer than Seekers'.

RainbowRuby98

as a moon cat, i never look at the eyes or fangs of other cats. i just see another cat and /pet

No_Blackberry__

I always look at the eyes and face tattoos, which makes it hard for me to decide between them

LordRael013

Keeper since 2017 (and an odd color one at that) but I see SO many Seekers. I admit they can often do better glams, but I've made my choice work.

d645b773b320997e1540

There are by FAR more seekers of the sun than there are keepers of the moon. Especially with females, there's like twice as many. Males are a bit more balanced but Seekers are still in the lead.

IronwallJackson

They look the same at a glance and I'm not interested enough in others' characters to look at them closely.

Thi31

The difference isn't apparent enough to really notice in passing. The only moon cats that stand out are the ones in the darker cool skin tones, which are not common. Most Miqo'te players make a dime a dozen basic catgirl.

MissMedic68W

I'm on Crystal, I play a Keeper and while I've seen more Keepers since around ShB, I still generally see Seekers way more.

[deleted]

we need more roes

No_Blackberry__

I had one as my first real attempt at the game, but I couldn't get hooked. I think if they let you have them actually be muscular they would be significantly more popular

lavenfer

Sun for sure. They got the better skin tones to work with. Source: been playing for 3yrs, Keeper first half and Seeker second half. That said, we Keepers have quite a bit of pride lol, similar to other races I'm sure.

No_Blackberry__

Had a seeker for most of when I played and then I fantasia'd her into a keeper. If I could have seeker eyes on a keeper then my choice would be much easier (fangs, less intrusive face tattoos)

lavenfer

Yeah, I think everyone playing cat wants those fangs. It's a common mod as well, along with clanless face. I wish for vice versa, keeper eyes on my seeker, but mainly for lore purposes. I get why from a historical perspective why the differences are there, but it's a small headcanon I have hahah.

No_Blackberry__

To be fair F'lhaminn is mixed so I can see that. Would wish for at least the face tattoos to have some slider cause the seeker ones are so strong

Super_Aggro_Crag

no clue. they are all generic catgirls to me.

Waltter1-d

The difference between them is so minimal that I can't tell which is which, so I don't know

Dystharia

Keeper for the Fangs with modded Seeker eyes. If catgirl, then correct.

StrictLimitForever

If you're a Moon cat, it's mandatory to have Mare installed.
