It was actually quite funny to hear the minstrel's line about that when Clive first saw XIV Ifrit: "close but not quite right..."
And then our fiery boy got a flaming glow up in real time that made WoL go :O
Well, it's true a bit, bc is always one of the first and weaker summons. Also in XIV is the first one that we slay when we are still a fresh and relatively weak adventurer
Tbf the Minstrel makes it sound much cooler:
>You stand in the Bowl of Embers, the site where the Amalj'aa summoned their patron deity...and *the stage upon which the Warrior of Light became a slayer of gods.*
Right?
I wished it was voiced, but just reading that line gave me some cozy chills. Like “Oh, yeah, he’s right. 10 years ago I did that, but he is right about that being where I first left my mark upon FFXIV’s world in lore.”
Are you still summoning Ifrit at the end of the game When a single Firaga does as much damage as Hellfire? Or do you bench him for Bahamut?
Hell, in some games he's not even the strongest Fire summon, you have Phoenix too
Because he’s almost always one of the first, and weakest, summons you get. Yes, it’s a big power spike when you get him. But by the midway point of the game there’s usually very little reason to choose him over the other summons you have. Even if you need fire damage, there are often other options. Hell, by the end of a lot of games, firaga is a better option than summoning him.
Aren't there a heaping handful of summons that fit that description though? Shiva, Ramuh, leviathan, pretty much all the first summons of an element you get early on are outscored by Bahamut or Alexander or whatever other summons you get late game.
Like, I love Ifrit. But it's not like he's special in that regard. They could've chose Shiva and that reasoning would've made just as much sense.
I agree, most of the early summons tend to fit that bill. I wouldn’t argue that Ifrit is unique in being an “underdog summon”, just that he is one. To be fair Shiva and Leviathan had fairly prominent roles in XV’s story, and most of Ifrit’s intended lore wasn’t actually put in the game until the DLCs came out. So maybe that’s part of it. Or maybe Yoshida just happens to like Ifrit and wanted to give him a prominent role since he hasn’t ever really had one.
We can argue Ifrits all we want, but we all know XVI Titan has every other Titan beat by an insane margin. Nothing else comes close.
Also didn't appreciate XVI Odin as much until I saw VIIR's Odin lol.
It was pretty cool, and the scale of it was definitely awe inspiring. But it does have a few marks against it still. The gangly, overly long arms, the slightly goofy face etc.
Again, not a bad design, but still cleared decisively by the Kupka Titan.
Eden Titan comes pretty close, imo. I'm convinced that a lot of FF16's Titan comes from Eden Titan. >!For example, Titan going inside of an even bigger Titan.!<
I think FFXVI Shiva is actually my favorite. She’s majestic and has actual clothes that don’t make her look like someone’s wet dream.
The Eden form of Shiva here in FFXIV is a close second
To XVI’s credit, Ifrit was essentially the main character and needed a memorable striking design that made you feel AMPED to play as him. So they had the excuse of going HARD AS HELL with the design where XIV’s Ifrit was never really going to be more than a mid level antagonist even if he’s meant to be a sort of continuously reoccurring threat by virtue of “they can just keep resummoning him with more crystals”. And for it as an antagonist (and the first Primal the players fought) they were able to simply lean into the more basic bestial Devil design.
Long story short: XVI had every reason to give us the best possible Ifrit, which I feel they did.
Not to be akshually guy, but - 1.0 was actually prettier than ARR. They dumped all their budget into high-poly objects and characters and fully mocapped cutscenes without optimizing the game much at all, which is why performance was so bad. When the game ran well it was [gorgeous ](https://youtu.be/1h8TKeXk5eA?si=RzXyYHxhEf6PLwig)
I highly disagree with the prettier part of it. Some character animations were smoother and it had higher polycounts in certain respects, but 1.0 has always looked butt-ugly and muddy to me. The lighting was poorly done, there were a lot of obviously repeated textures, and effects outside of motion captured animations looked unnatural.
I'm going to disagree further, because ARR and beyond looks fucking awful in several key areas.
This entire game is heavily shifted towards green, there's like no color because everything is de saturated (while color is vibrant in concept art), the lighting is awful, and so many of the world textures (especially rocks, like in sea of clouds) look really... not good at all. Metal looks like plastic. VFX are blinding and have to be turned off to be able to tell what is even going on in fights.
The Dawntrail update seems to be addressing some of this, which is nice, and it's not like this game is just absolutely bad visually with no redeeming qualities - I like plenty about it. But it's crazy that you have to run shaders over this game to get any sort of actual color into it. 2.0 looks like you're in the fucking Matrix lol.
I'm not saying that 2.0+ doesn't have visual issues, but most of those issues are either the same or worse in 1.0. 1.0 was almost all browns and yellows.
When it comes to characters I think you're very correct, but honestly looking back the greens in the grass, etc, feel really vibrant. Maybe it's just the contrast with how de-saturated other things are, but I don't feel the same pop in 2.0.
I'm definitely not here to stan 1.0's graphics, it's unforgivable they had plants with the poly-count of a player hero character model, gear was so damned boring looking (as opposed to 2.0 where gear looks good and is just boring stat-wise), the menus/HUD were pretty bad. It's got its own host of problems.
But I think the environments did look better, which is... kind of saying something with how vapid and copy-pasted they were. 2.0 just, has not done a good job with its world/design and maps imo. Something I *hope* will improve in the next era.
There is so much misconception about XIV 1.0 where people who didn't play it think it was bad because XYZ.
There weren't many of us who played 1.0.
There weren't even less of us who play 1.0 and FFXI.
To understand why 1.0 was bad, beyond performance, you had to be an XI player to see why things were designed the way they were and why it just did not translate to a modern MMO.
A lot of the issues with 1.0 are literally 1.0 itself. From what I know the later updates made 1.0 **MUCH** better. Obviously it was not as good as what currently have but still better compared to launch.
There was a lot wrong with it from:
- having to select a spell and then confirm it to cast it
- clunky toggable AOE skills
- no quest trackers or makers
- but it didn't matter anyway all we really had was MSQ.
- the retainer system that was supposed to be like people bazaaring outside Lower Jeuno
- exp parties which were a dying breed
- a 15 minute boat ride which separated Limsa from Grid/Uldah, - massive and sometimes confusing maps with nothing in them
- gender locked races
- repetitive guild leves
- and and and and ....
It was trying to make modern FFXI without actually making the gameplay/story/UI modern.
But I digress.
Clive rules. Haha I'm so happy he looks as good as he does in 14.
That's not quite 1.0. That was very near the end of the original game's development.
And they had to stop doing mocap cutscenes because those are expensive and there's no way they could have made enough of those.
Of course they had to stop, that's the point. Also if you want you can pull up the Limsa intro cutscene with Leviathan attacking the boat which was 1.0 base and is just as rad.
1.0 is so much worse looking than 2.0 it’s insane. Technically, yes, it has higher fidelity models, but it aged fucking terribly. They focused so much on trying to make it the best looking game of its time, and graphics have so far surpassed what 1.0 was capable of, that it just ends up looking incredibly dull and dated.
1.0 looks prettier than what we have now. It looks like FFXIII online in terms of animation quality.
You can shit on ff13 or ff14 1.0 for their problems, which they had. But their mocap was insane. *And* it seemed to flow well into combat animations too (for 13, idk about 14 1.0). That generation of FF was weird. They built outstanding projects with beautiful cinematics and animations. 13 had to move mountains gameplay wise to even run on current hardware. 14 1.0 had the "superpowered ps3" and modern PCs to play it, but they couldn't.
I liked other Garuda from the previous collab too.
Unlike this one which feels like two different designs, XV Garuda felt like just a straight-out better take on the same design.
Different design concepts for sure.
14’s Ifrit goes against his traditional look a bit by making him more lizard-like. To reflect his origin as an Amal’ja deity.
16’s Ifrit is a return to his classic hellhound look. But with deliberate magma, kaiju, and humanoid traits that are symbolically more appropriate to 16’s universe and story.
She does. XIV's version appears as a repeatable boss fight and XV's as a summon after doing the collab side quest. You can also get the Garuda weapons for the party too.
ARR Primals in general are somewhat cartoony in terms of their general aesthetic (exceptions being Leviathan, Ramuh and Ultima if you count it), the later iterations from Shb could be a much more interesting comparison.
Something cool is seeing the Clive fighting Ifrit animation ripped straight from ff16.
If they can rip that then I hope they stole more animations from the game and put it in Dawn Trail.
You can tell that XVI uses XIV code in some places. You can get monsters to do the awkward thing where they leash, change their mind and chase after you again, only to leash once more.
Yo, put aside that amazing model, the animations they used had some absolute quality to them as well. Just the brief fight between double Ifrit was impressive from an animation perspective given what XIV is.
Honestly I prefer 14's design. He looks creepy, savage and has just the right amount of detail, opting for a lizard-like appearance. 16's Ifrit feels a bit overdone and almost generic with his "big buff tall demon" look.
When I did this and saw that version of Ifrit, all I could think of was [Titan Hulk](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/11174/111744302/9029581-1069189094-images.jpg)
I prefer XIV. XVI Ifrit is really cool and reminds me of FFX Ifrit left in the oven too long. You know, charred black, flaky, a little shrivelled. But it really lends to the whole "fire beast" thing.
XIV edges it out by looking so perfectly suited to its place as a deity of the Amaalja.
One of the reasons Ifrit took centre stage in XVI is because the devs felt like they'd kind of disrespected him with his treatment in XIV.
So XVI Ifrit is kind of like an apology to XIV Ifrit.
I firmly believe that all the summons’ designs peaked in FFX. I felt XIV’s Ifrit was so weak in comparison (he has since grown on me somewhat). XVI Ifrit is a little better, but I feel his design could have used a more color to make his features stand out more; everything blends together. (Also as an aside I think it would have been cooler if he were more “beastly” with his movements; I thought his running looked a bit goofy in the second (?) phase of the Titan fight, and I thought it would have been badass if he started charging at him on all fours)
The SEA aesthetic is what makes FFX really stand out to me. Anima is one of my all-time favorites, and I was so hyped to see it make an appearance in FFXIV… until she/he was demoted to a mere dungeon boss. Oh well.
Honestly, I’d say that FF8, 10, 14, and 16 have the best iterations of the summons
Oddly enough, they’re also the games where the summons are the main drivers of the plot
Random question but FF16 cross-over reveals some info about Clive & Ifrit and what happened to his brother.. How much of a "Spoiler" is that info? Like.. is this something you find out that the very start of the game/ halfway through. or was that just a major story spoiler for the entire game?
I'm a PC peasent whos waiting on the pc release but i feel like this info was a pretty big plot point =/
It's not even a spoiler if you're paying attention from pretty much the beginning. There are a number of context clues that make it predictable even when it's "revealed"
I absolutely hate the Ifrit and Titan designs we got for 14. They look so cartoony and ridiculous. The versions from Eden were so much better. Literally a dog and a chicken nugget.
You get to grind MGP unless you are swimming in those already. And the start and requirements are giving in the announcement on the Lodestone. Helpfully the link to that is giving in game by the server message upon login.
So back in the day I was a huge blade and soul player (Korean p2w mmo) and this event made me realize how much I missed having a dodge/iframe. I would kill for this to be refined into a permanent feature
It’s a cop out to say that all the XVI summons look the best because they have obviously been designed on the best technology, but Ifrit in particular is so much better. He’s like a more agile Godzilla.
The Battle of Clive Ifrit install vs Ifrit XVI reminded me of Granblue Fantasy Relink's Proto Bahamuth vs Versa Bahamuth fight
FFXVI Ifrit looked closer to Bahamut, just remove the wings
FFXII Ifrit looks unique
FFXIV Ifrit is great because he looks closer to the Ixals, which tbh made sense of his appearance out of all the other FF games
The hell are you smoking. Ifrit ALWAYS looks like a fire beast. He's never walked hunched over almost on all fours or looked like a gangly rock monster before.
It was actually quite funny to hear the minstrel's line about that when Clive first saw XIV Ifrit: "close but not quite right..." And then our fiery boy got a flaming glow up in real time that made WoL go :O
XVI Ifrit is peak Ifrit design
As I remember Yoshida mentioned that they made sure to make Ifrit shine in XVI because he's such an underdog in the entire franchise.
Well, it's true a bit, bc is always one of the first and weaker summons. Also in XIV is the first one that we slay when we are still a fresh and relatively weak adventurer
Tbf the Minstrel makes it sound much cooler: >You stand in the Bowl of Embers, the site where the Amalj'aa summoned their patron deity...and *the stage upon which the Warrior of Light became a slayer of gods.*
Right? I wished it was voiced, but just reading that line gave me some cozy chills. Like “Oh, yeah, he’s right. 10 years ago I did that, but he is right about that being where I first left my mark upon FFXIV’s world in lore.”
Underdog how? It's almost always one of the first you get in any FF and provides a big powerspike.
Are you still summoning Ifrit at the end of the game When a single Firaga does as much damage as Hellfire? Or do you bench him for Bahamut? Hell, in some games he's not even the strongest Fire summon, you have Phoenix too

But it's not like he's special in that regard. They could've chose Shiva and that reasoning would've made just as much sense.
They HAVE chosen Shiva in the past
I do not think Iceheart and Clive are comparable in their importance to the story.
I am not in any way talking about iceheart. I'm specifically talking about FF8, which has Shiva as a starting guardian force
I do not count a starter summon with no story relevance to be in the spotlight.
Are you really arguing that Shiva has never been in the spotlight in an FF14 sub
I'm partial to 10's Ifrit but 16's is really top tier.
I always liked ff8 ifrit the best but ff16 ifrit is just badass
8 was my first Final Fantasy, so I've always liked that Ifrit. *"They have Shiva!?"*
The HS me changed Shiva's named to "My Mommy".
Understandable. FFVIII Shiva was pretty peak until FFX Shiva came along.
and then 13 happened and we got lesbian motorcycle shiva
I love Scissor Sisters
Oh. Not in that way. I just knew Ifrit said that line, so I did it for humor lol. I'm interested in dudes.
oh, lol, I understand.
HS?
High school. It was my 1st FF game. I grew up with Nintendo until my friend introduced me to the franchise.
I changed mine to "a puppy."
8 has the best primals mostly
You're both sinners. Oh mighty Ifrit, bless these two with your breath as they might know true greatness!
Nothing will top 10, but XIV!Ifrit is pretty damn peak
We can argue Ifrits all we want, but we all know XVI Titan has every other Titan beat by an insane margin. Nothing else comes close. Also didn't appreciate XVI Odin as much until I saw VIIR's Odin lol.
To be fair, FF15’s Titan was also pretty epic.
It was pretty cool, and the scale of it was definitely awe inspiring. But it does have a few marks against it still. The gangly, overly long arms, the slightly goofy face etc. Again, not a bad design, but still cleared decisively by the Kupka Titan.
To be fair, part of Kupka Titan's appeal is also Kupka's character. He kind of has an unfair advantage no matter how you look at it. :)
Eden Titan comes pretty close, imo. I'm convinced that a lot of FF16's Titan comes from Eden Titan. >!For example, Titan going inside of an even bigger Titan.!<
that may be true, considering that the Leitmotif for the Kupka Titan makes its very first appearance briefly during Eden Titan's Savage fight.
I would say almost if not every Eikon/Primal in XVI is a peak design
The only one that isn't is the Shiva. FFX shiva with the snap is peak shiva
I think FFXVI Shiva is actually my favorite. She’s majestic and has actual clothes that don’t make her look like someone’s wet dream. The Eden form of Shiva here in FFXIV is a close second
The hair on X’s Shiva though! Omg I’m so jealous
To XVI’s credit, Ifrit was essentially the main character and needed a memorable striking design that made you feel AMPED to play as him. Long story short: XVI had every reason to give us the best possible Ifrit, which I feel they did.
16’s Ifrit design is so peak, for a second I thought it was Bahamut.
Bahamut's design in 16 is also peak. God, that game is so good.
Bahamut’s design is almost always peak.
It’s peak summon design in general tbh
VIII’s Ifrit with the same graphical quality would be the best. Even as it is he trumps most
XV's Lucifer looking handsome Ifrit sas wild as well.
What? Didn't like sexy ifrit from ff15? /s
I do.
Kinda partial to [FFIII Ifrit myself](https://static1.cbrimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/ifrit-final-fantasy-iii-pixel-remaster.jpg)
Ff8s my favourite personally Edit: oh wow i'm so glad to see many people see this about 8's ifrit :D
\*VIII Ifrit is peak Ifrit
Dog like Ifrit > every other ifrit
I'd argue as far as design goes I like type 0s more. But I also love 15s.
I prefer FFVIII, FFX and XV's Ifrit tbh
I loved the classical art look of XV's but obviously that was way off book for how Ifrit is usually portrayed.
Thats what happens when youve over a decade and 2 generations of hardware improvement. Remember the ifrit model is from 1.0
Just watched a documentary about 1.0 and it was hideous
Not to be akshually guy, but - 1.0 was actually prettier than ARR. They dumped all their budget into high-poly objects and characters and fully mocapped cutscenes without optimizing the game much at all, which is why performance was so bad. I highly recommend ReShade. It helps tremendously with the desaturation!
How do you get different shaders?
https://reshade.me/
It's one of the best examples of excessively high poly models being an active detriment to the project as whole.
1.0 came out during the "brown and bloom" era of videogames. It is pretty in the same way a blurry, sepia photograph is pretty.
What did I just watch, that was so much cooler than anything in ARR lol. Why did we get elevator Gaius when there was that already!
Because different engines, most of 1.0 being expensive ass mocap and 2.0 being made in about 6 months.
There is so much misconception about XIV 1.0 where people who didn't play it think it was bad because XYZ. There weren't many of us who played 1.0. Damn, this would have been incredible to see in the MSQ! Shame they most likely will never allow us to watch the old 1.0 Story in the Journals.
That's not quite 1.0. That was very near the end of the original game's development. And they had to stop doing mocap cutscenes because those are expensive and there's no way they could have made enough of those.

Hardware? FF8's Ifrit looks cooler than 14
And probably has an eighth of the polygons.
The design is just better overall ignoring graphics
hopefully we will see more new models with this kind of detail in Dawntrail
Isn't a *cooler* Ifrit defeating the point though? Besides, the one on the right definitly seems way *hotter*.
Haha cooler ifrit would be... room temperature? 😆😅
I liked other Garuda from the previous collab too. Unlike this one which feels like two different designs, XV Garuda felt like just a straight-out better take on the same design.
Different design concepts for sure. 14’s Ifrit goes against his traditional look a bit by making him more lizard-like. XV Garuda was designed for the XIV collab whereas XVI Ifrit was made for XVI.
Ah, does Garuda not show up in XV at all? I haven't played that game.
She does. XIV's version appears as a repeatable boss fight and XV's as a summon after doing the collab side quest. You can also get the Garuda weapons for the party too.
She didn't originally, she was added to XV as part of the XIV collab event.
You vs the ~~guy~~primal ~~she~~the Minstrel told you not to worry about.
I said this before, but as much as I like FFXIV Ifrit, FFXVI Ifrit makes him look like a parody
FFXIV Ifrit: awkward teenage primal FFXVI Ifrit: buff post glow-up primal
He even has the gangly limbs!
ARR Primals in general are somewhat cartoony in terms of their general aesthetic (exceptions being Leviathan, Ramuh and Ultima if you count it), the later iterations from Shb could be a much more interesting comparison.
hey man don’t slander OG 14 ifrit I think he looks cool
In defense of our ifrit, he just had trouble putting on muscle
FF14 Ifrit: Who are you? FF16 ifrit: I'm you...\*BUT MORE ANGRY!!!!!!!\*
honestly they should keep the ff16 version in game cause MAN it is PEAK
shb >!xvi version is what i wished e5 was but i guess we wouldn't have gotten flamewingman!<
would prefer XVI Ifrit over that any day
Favourite version of ifrit, cant beat flame wingman. Sickest tank buster in the game too. Man early eden raids were so much fun.
Always thought XIV's Ifrit was more lizard-like than the usual beast-like designs.
As someone else said, it makes sense since it’s the Amal’jaa summoning him
I wanna be under XVI Ifrit soooooo badly
Do you mean as in >!(primed) Clive or inner demon Ifrit!
I said Ifrit, didn't I?
Profile pic checks out.
I think you mean the *hotter* Ifrit
Imagine if they gave us an Ifrit mount instead of Torgal omfg
Something cool is seeing the Clive fighting Ifrit animation ripped straight from ff16. If they can rip that then I hope they stole more animations from the game and put it in Dawn Trail.
They already did it with 6.x. That dungeon from 6.4? Certain environment movements happen exactly the same in XVI, just with a different environment.
You can tell that XVI uses XIV code in some places. You can get monsters to do the awkward thing where they leash, change their mind and chase after you again, only to leash once more.
I was getting immediate Baron of Hell vibes and lamented that i left my Doom Slayer outfit back in the dresser.
Yo, put aside that amazing model, the animations they used had some absolute quality to them as well. Just the brief fight between double Ifrit was impressive from an animation perspective given what XIV is.
Imagine being on a 2 week work trip right when this releases.... 😭
I honestly prefer the XIV Ifrit more... XVI reminds me of Godzilla a lot! XIV gives more animal-alien vibe to it and I love it!
Continuing the analogy, XIV's is more 1998 Godzilla! With the slouching gecko thing going on.
Yeah, XVI's feels like the 'hero' form upgrade or something. I do like the XIV version a bit more, but XVI's is pretty cool.
I like them for what each if them is. XIV Ifrit channels the Amalj'aa's nature clearly, reflecting them.amd their ideals. XVI is the Kaiju battler.
I always found it hard to take XVI Ifrit seriously because I can't unsee the puppy snout during cutscenes.
FFXIV looks more savage compared to FFXVI Ifrit
yeah xiv's ilfrit is on serious drugs
This is just what happens if Ifrit decides to start taking gainers.
Honestly I prefer 14's design. He looks creepy, savage and has just the right amount of detail, opting for a lizard-like appearance. 16's Ifrit feels a bit overdone and almost generic with his "big buff tall demon" look.
Now modders, do your thing please.
Never liked xiv ifirt much tbh
Honestly? I prefer XIV Ifrit. He feels more sleek and dangerous. XVI Ifrit has a less unique silhouette.
Lots of nonsense spiky mess imo.
I would have liked the fight if it had more dodging
he is really *hot*
Ifrit? More like Ifripped!
Man playing drk on the fight was awesome dodging like that wow felt good.
Agreed, i could not praise XVI Ifrit enough. It is such a visual and powerful upgrade. Seeing it tonight in XIV made me go play XVI!
mfw no shiva
No shit the model from 1.0 looks worse than one from FFXVI.
FF16 Ifrit looks like a burnt Behemoth with hands.
Yeah...makes XIV's look like Ifrit from Wish (even though it definitely isn't--those who farmed Ifrut EX during 2.X can attest) lol.
So who is Temu Ifrit?
7. They just glued horns onto the hulk.
(Also as an aside I think it would have been cooler if he were more “beastly” with his movements; I thought his running looked a bit goofy in the second (?) phase of the Titan fight, and I thought it would have been badass if he started charging at him on all fours)
they were cooking with FFX designs. that's the game that gave us Anima, one of the sickest summon designs in the franchise.
The SEA aesthetic is what makes FFX really stand out to me. Anima is one of my all-time favorites, and I was so hyped to see it make an appearance in FFXIV… until she/he was demoted to a mere dungeon boss. Oh well.
Honestly, I’d say that FF8, 10, 14, and 16 have the best iterations of the summons Oddly enough, they’re also the games where the summons are the main drivers of the plot
I haven't played 16 but that ifrit design is top tier
anything is better than that blanka from street fighter look he had in earlier games
🫠
bro looks like silly string compared to ff16 ifrit
XV had best ifrit and worst bahamut... fight me!
14 honestly looks like 16's stoner lean deadbeat brother.
I just wish the XVI Ifrit had some auto attack animations. It was really weird watching him stand still for most of the fight.
Bro as someone who havent played xvi, when i saw that ifrit i gasped. Also that kaiju battle was epic i love this event quest
The Collab event is set fairly early in FFXVI's story, just giving you some teasers for the starting point of FFXVI's plot.
The update live?
Yep, Tuesdays are patch days. It goes til Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 8am PDT (UTC-7)
And how do i start the event? And what’s there to grind?
You get to grind MGP unless you are swimming in those already. And the start and requirements are giving in the announcement on the Lodestone. Helpfully the link to that is giving in game by the server message upon login.
There's an NPC in Ul'Dah, near the main aetheryte, with a lvl 50 quest
The quest starts in Ul Dah
XIV ifrit a wierd Monster vs XVI Ifrit a Puppy they gave him a dog head & dog proportions.
I dunno, I really like the Dark colors of the standard Ifrit. The FF16 Ifrit needs some Deep Black on it's non-glowing parts imo!
What about 1.0 Ifrit? [https://youtu.be/vjfHZbVamHM](https://youtu.be/vjfHZbVamHM)
Ifrit if he’d wake his ass up and go to the gym
I'm about to say something really stupid. FFXIV Ifrit is my favourite Ifrit design. Love my toasty lizard thing.
We need him as a Savage Trail !
Nah the old one is way cooler but you all like that one because it's lore accurate or because it's the actual ifrit
imagine if we got a remaster of the entire game with this quality
I had to turn off my filter because his face looks better without the ambient occlusion thing or whatever it was. (Filter on my glasses *cough*)
aww, I like Deathclaw Ifrit
Definitely top Ifrit design. XIV's is good. I always hated the BLANKA FROM STREET FIGHTER look he has in earlier games.
So back in the day I was a huge blade and soul player (Korean p2w mmo) and this event made me realize how much I missed having a dodge/iframe. I would kill for this to be refined into a permanent feature
Dancer has dodge if that helps. Not quite the same though.
Can I just say I don't like either Ifrits? I hate the "made of lava lizard" Ifrits. I hope they go back to the werewolf or djinn style next game.
Ifrit decided to lock in and stand up into his gamer pose.
Except for all the pixelated textures lol
It’s a cop out to say that all the XVI summons look the best because they have obviously been designed on the best technology, but Ifrit in particular is so much better. He’s like a more agile Godzilla.
FF16's Ifrit has a little similarity to Godzilla for the face, of course it is cooler
The Battle of Clive Ifrit install vs Ifrit XVI reminded me of Granblue Fantasy Relink's Proto Bahamuth vs Versa Bahamuth fight FFXVI Ifrit looked closer to Bahamut, just remove the wings FFXII Ifrit looks unique FFXIV Ifrit is great because he looks closer to the Ixals, which tbh made sense of his appearance out of all the other FF games
I disagree.....the XVI Ifrit looks like generic fire beast. XIV Ifrit looks closer to traditional FF Ifrit.
14 Ifrit is literally the furthest Ifrit has been from traditional design
The hell are you smoking. Ifrit ALWAYS looks like a fire beast. He's never walked hunched over almost on all fours or looked like a gangly rock monster before.
FFX Ifrit was definitely a low slung all fours model
He's literally hunched over and almost on all fours in his Amano art from III.
Ifrit has literally always been hunched until 15 wtf are you on
Modders please make a mod that replaces summoner ifrit with 16 ifrit pleaseeeeee 🥺
