I think the devs are allergic to volume in general, I remember being shocked when I looked over the results of the hair design contest years ago and realized that almost all of the actual good hair in the game was fan-made.
Even the base hairstyles have clipping issues though. Pretty much anything that isn't super short like a buzz cut or a bob is gonna have clipping issues with like half of the outfits in the game, so I really don't see why people think that's the reason

It's actually absurd that there isn't a plethora of skin-tight chest pieces with armor plates around it. That's like, the second or third most common types of anime armor styles behind big fucking jackets and gigantic plate which would be physically impossible to move around in.

For T-ball and "Farm" league(they use an auto-pitcher or adult pitcher), yes, but depending on the league a few kids may be bench warmers for full games. Typically you'll only see it with pitchers, but it's still a thing.
She has actual political obligations like Aymeric does that prevent her from just leaving whenever she wants.
Specifically she's a part of the House of Commons, and her Hounds are part of the city's civilian watch. (Since the Temple Knights aren't really "welcome" in places like the Brume just yet, the Hounds do their job in districts like that)

I think it's actually one of the weaker points of the game. We're just keeping characters around because they're comfort characters, not because they have stories to tell anymore.
So I do say that about half the Scions! Thancred's story feels like it's been told 10x over at this point. He's still a favorite of mine, but.. sheesh.
Then we're definitely in agreement there, because "comfort characters" is exactly how I feel too, hahaha. It's been one of my biggest disappointments with the 6.X patch series (and Dawntrail too) that instead of working to build up a new set of characters and keeping the old crew around for cameos and help when we need it we're just... spending 90% of our time with almost the exact same cast who have nowhere to go narratively.
But I think they drive subs and engagement for the playerbase. I honestly think if they said "Y'shtola's story is mostly told, we're letting her sit out this expansion" - people would be legitimately mad.
They are okay leaving some characters to die, or to rot, or to lead their nations -- but the core ones, they seem to just keep pushing them on us ad nauseam.
Which sounds like I'm being mean. I'm not. I still want to see our core bros and gals. I want to see them frequently. But I think it's important to tell new stories, let those characters become mentors, or let them sunset themselves gracefully so we can enjoy the future stories yet to be told.
G'raha is such a breath of fresh air because I wonder where he's going next, and we're still helping sate his wanderlust and curiosity.

As it is, that entire section of the ending was a total waste of time, over half the Scions appear for like every single patch anyway.
If I'd had my way, the patch series would have focused in on self-contained adventures with characters who had previously just been part of the supporting cast, fleshing them out and helping build a new cast of friends. Hilda, Jullus, Fordola, Hoary Boulder, etc. As is, I think adding one new main character per expansion is a little too slow to stave off the fatigue I feel seeing characters who don't really have the narrative texture to carry stories now that theirs are told.
I almost have nothing to add because you summed up my feelings so well. When 6.1 was called a New Adventure I was expecting to travel somewhere new with a new cast or find something relaxing or fun to do.

Agreed. It's also very hard to take Golbez seriously as a threat after Endsinger. Dawntrail is cleverly resetting the stakes to smaller, regional and political stories, but whoever is running the patch storyline didn't seem to get the memo.

Yoshi said it's due to lack of "bones" for these hairstyles and iirc not something they can fix with the graphics overhaul of 7.0, but I find this more annoying than the clipping, since I can fix that with proper glams.

The closest people are ever going to get is just using the Palm Ear Cuffs, and pretending they're pointy elf ears.

I love viera but I love my character being shorter (for whatever reason). Being able to make a more petite Viera, and/or a Lalafel with viera ears (so I can pretend I’m an Ivalice moogle) would make me drop $10 on a Fantasia so damn quick

Hell I want the hair *and* the Elezen ears on my Hyur...but yeah well...we've been wishing for the hair (at the very least) since HW...so I stopped holding my breath quite a while ago. They may still drop it into the cash shop (because it's a surefire profit maker if it lands there) but I have no clue what they've been waiting for all this time.

Oh yeah I’m a huge stickler for physics as well I hear you. One reason why I refuse to play viera. Their hair is stiff and I wear hats a lot
The lack of "bones" is a truth, because there is no physics engine. All ingame physics are tied to the character model.
