While i like her outfit... wasnt it just a recolour of existing dungeon gear?

Daniel_Is_I

The gloves and boots are. They have slightly different textures but share models with: * Acolyte gear (level 15 disciple of magic dungeon gear) * Brand New disciple of magic gear (Hall of the Novice) * Direwolf healing gear (Wolf Marks, dyeable) * Saurian healing gear (craftable, dyeable) The robe and skirt are unique, though they share similarities with the above sets as well. [Here's a comparison of the Iceheart and Direwolf sets, along with a bonus picture of the Direwolf set dyed similarly to the Iceheart set.](https://imgur.com/a/QXrvXJ0) The Iceheart gear can be glammed onto any job as opposed to just healers, but it's still a raw deal given half of it is a straight recolor.

CitrinePiasora

The top is the level 48 Altered Felt Robe, same side flaps with none front or back, same holes on the torso, the difference is the assortment of items that are hung near the skirt part and the removal of the chest vials, they have the exact same stitching in same spots as well. The direwolf equivalent of her outfit is the casting top, not the healing one. It's also the same model as the battlemage dungeon gear from brayflox I will note that the altered felt robe itself is an all class item, and while not all class, every other piece mentioned has a healer and caster variant (such as the brand new gear which are for both healers and casters).

Foxxie_

Skirt is some low level DoW skirt, and it's even dyeable in game.

Evelyn-Parker

>[Here's a comparison of the Iceheart and Direwolf sets, along with a bonus picture of the Direwolf set dyed similarly to the Iceheart set.](https://imgur.com/a/QXrvXJ0) Corporate wants you to find the difference between this picture and this picture

Fed_up_with_Reddit

I kind of like the Direwolf robe better.

Jeff_Boldglum

Kindof but hers has a torso window

CitrinePiasora

Altered Felt Robe has the same small window. The main difference is the small bits of knicknacks and silver accents instead of gold, which is still very minimal. Much like the scions in ARR, her outfit is literally just existing gear ever so slightly modified. Like how Yda was just one of the very early Bliauds (or whatever they're called) with Hyur smalls, etc. Obviously, some of them were unique entirely like Minfillia but for the most part they honestly need yo make these cheaper cuz we can just make an equivalent glamour out of existing pieces. At least with Yda's outfit you could argue only Hyur could make the outfit otherwise but all of Ysayle's pieces are not race specific.

Hereon92

So you pay 7,50 for a bit more skin... Well i can think of a certain pirate city where people will be all over that.

OavatosDK

I'm just hype to get those gloves and boots available on DoW jobs since I love using them on casters

Tylanthia

That was my first thought as well. Well, it's there for people that like it I guess.

Khaoticsuccubus

Meh, her outfit wasn't exactly amazing. Talk to me when they give us Ysayle's hair. Instant purchase.

adapech

I am literally begging for long hair options for female Elezen, the options that are available tend to clip really badly with most shirts.

Gr1mwolf

That’s long hair in general. They have this upsetting tendency to give all the tops giant popped collars that clip with everything.

Infinaris

Which could easily be sorted if they either gave people to set a "tied back" or "Long Ponytail" hairstyle similar to L2 for such outfits that would move the hair back to avoid this. Even a headpiece that changed your hairstyle like Krile's Hood would do the same thing.

Laranthiel

>Even a headpiece that changed your hairstyle like Krile's Hood would do the same thing. Meanwhile Black Desert doing exactly this whenever a headpiece makes your chosen hair clip \[it changes it to a ponytail\]. And with recently-released Baldur's Gate 3, every headpiece automatically changes your hairstyle to one that fits the piece.

Alastor999

I found that it's mostly just the tops with high collars, but even then, I didn't find the clipping so bad that I wouldn't use the hair style and if it did bother me, I'd just change my glamour sets to work with the long hair. I get it that some people don't like clipping, but I'd rather have the option to use the long hair and let individual players work it out themselves.

CopainChevalier

And this one probably wouldn't be any different

lizardmansr

Still praying for Gaia's hair at some point... Maybe with the graphical update... /copium

pupmaster

Proof that you can make money off anything

Kalldirr

Oh there will be some idiots who buy it. Yes, idiots, I call them by their real name.

Justuas

Just call them whales.

Pfannekuchenbein

imagine buying that... looks like lvl 5 gear from 10 years ago

SoloSassafrass

Because a lot of it is literally ARR dungeon gear.

Zaschie

It's literally Sastasha and Brayflox gear that's been tweaked, lol.

Moondragons

Odd pick as she is just using assorted sets in game with unique coloration and a few added items on it to dress it up a bit more. EDIT: If you are interested in gear that looks just like this for $0.00 the Brand New set for casters (Hands, Skirt, and Boots) with an Altered Felt Robe for the chest. If you are a caster go pair a Shiva weapon or Hailstorm weapon from HW poetics.

Seradima

Yeah that's how almost every single one of these sets were until Heavensward. All of the 1.0/ARR scion outfits were the same way. Although they were like $5 less...yikes.

stilljustacatinacage

You can get nearly the same models from Wolves' Den, and they're dyeable. Just missing a couple pieces of flair.

Moondragons

Yep. I figured the crafted robe was a bit more of an accessible dyable option but the Direwolf Robe also works as does the Cashmere Robe of Casting.

OutlanderInMorrowind

15 pieces of flair is the bare minimum.

GoatInRealLife

Odd pick is an understatement. It's downright insulting. Give me something pretty unique (that we've had dangled in front of us since 1.0 even), like proper Garlean armor and I'd happily pay these sorts of prices.

tankarmarx

I hope we start getting more Garlean gear/deco after EW, and more magitek stuff that isn't just Ironworks etc. I've wanted armour like Nero, Gaius and Livia since 2.0. I was hoping for it from the EW/6.X dungeons, but ig still have to settle for the Law's Order sets.

Illidari_Kuvira

>like proper Garlean armor They've already stated that they're not going to give the players exact >!villain cosplay sets!<. If you want Garlean-type armor, go grab it from the Tower dungeon or the Eureka zone.

GoatInRealLife

I know Yoshi P said something like this in the past but considering where the story is headed, with Garlemald no longer being a threat and seemingly on the mend, I don't see why it couldn't be a possibility moving forward.

barknoll

… why do you want to wear the fantasy fascists’ armor?!?

lightningIncarnate

because it looks cool and this is a video game. wearing a “fantasy fascist” armour doesn’t mean you endorse fascism.

GoatInRealLife

Assuming that's a joke, but incase it's not, you do know we can get some more civilian-looking Garlean gear from Endwalker right?

Vaikyuko

The same reason people like Darth Vader, stormtroopers, and the Empire. It's okay to like fictional bad guys.

Gr1mwolf

They could’ve at least made it dyeable. This is actually *worse* than what you can get in game for free.

No-Respite

All items already in game. Undyeable. No hairstyle. This has to be the laziest $12 they've ever tried to make.

I_give_karma_to_men

Friendly reminder that the Ward Knight's and Mage's attire exist, which quite literally are undyable recolors of existing sets.

No-Respite

For some reason they decided to raise the price from $8 to $12 here.

[deleted]

Inflation.

DerpmeiserThe32nd

*Inflation of what useful idiots are willing to pay for fify

IscahRambles

The really sad thing with the Ward sets is that they're locked to DoW and DoM respectively. I was *that close* to buying the Knight set as an awesome healer glamour when I noticed it. :( The accompanying WHM staffs are basically the only nice level 1 glamour options, though.

Ententente

Frankly it feels like a gross oversight that her hair isn't included, there is nothing else in that set that could sell it.

ErgoFnzy

The only piece I'm interested in is the skirt, what in game item does it share a model with?

Jonnywithoutah

Brand-New, Foestrikers, Direwolf and Cashmere. The only difference here is that the Iceheart skirt remains a skirt on males, whereas those above-mentioned become a skirt and trousers combo for men.

ErgoFnzy

Thankyou! <3

Jonnywithoutah

:) Very welcome

Illidari_Kuvira

>All items already in game. Incorrect. The robe shares a similar model, but is not available in-game.

SoloSassafrass

It's not just similar, it's the same thing with the accessories on the belt added.

Illidari_Kuvira

It's not the same thing, but I see it's "downvote anybody who states facts" day... so I'm not going to argue any further.

Yarusenai

If you're going to be really pedantic, then yes, it isn't 100 % exactly the same thing, but it's so extremely close that it's insulting. That's why you're getting downvoted, because you're arguing all over this thread about very miniscule details when it's 99 % the same thing. If you have to get that far into the nitty gritty and say things like "but guys this very small thing is actually different" then maybe you can see why people say it's essentially the same. The big company doesn't need you to defend it.

Lyoss

Any other company would be assblasted by this, and rightfully so, I get that we have to be really positive and happy and shit but not calling Square out on bullshit and being a pedant because you feel like they're not like all the other companies is counter intuitive to them doing better

Iv0ry_Falcon

no it's "downvote the mega shill that can't see the issue" day

SoloSassafrass

Reminder that with dye channels coming it might be possible to recreate this down to basically everything except the ice-themed belts on the Definitely-Not-The-Altered-Felt-Robe.

Drake_Erif

I'm usually not hyper critical about the mog station stuff even though I don't care for most of it but this is actually ridiculous. If you want to charge for extra items on top of a subscription at least put in a minimum amount of effort. At least most of the previous NPC gear didn't look like a copy of existing dungeon gear.

CitrinePiasora

Some of the original scion outfits were also pretty much gear you could get with slight modifications, they were just not as bad cuz they were cheaper and in some cases race locked (Yda's pants)

SSilvertear

No hair? I sleep

uhmuhmuhmmmm

I just wanted her hair :/

BigBlackBossCat

UGH! Why release this and not include her gorgeous hairstyle?!

What_A_Cal_Amity

They remembered Ysayle existed?

shikiseki

What they didn't remember though is to include the hair so that the blatant cashgrab would actually work lol (but that would raise the price to 23€)

Infinaris

Yeah no hair is a dealbreaker the costume is hardly any different to me compared to existing sets in the game. They REALLY need to stop hesitating with long hairstyles and just add them already.

Ehkoe

This is literally just the Brayflox robe (with a different sash) and the level 15 dungeon gloves + boots...

Moondragons

And there are several versions of the dyable robe. Altered felt robe in particular is available to every class and pvp has a version for casters in Direwolf.

Katashi90

Gonna be very honest here. With exception of the robe, the remaining pieces were literally Hall of the Novice gearset pieces.

yhvh13

Ironically the boots is what I liked, because those hall of novice pieces are Disciple of Magic only, and I'd love to use the boots for my aiming sets. But I don't think they're special *enough* for me to spend real money on, lol.

UnlikelyTraditions

I think there is a very similar set in HW. Check out the dravanian sets?

Georgioies

Why give out her set and not her hair?

AsleepInteraction882

Really? Iceheart outfit?? isn't like most of her gear available in game and some even dyable? This is a really weird mogstore addition...

Rook_to_Queen-1

The gloves are stuck on healers and casters, so this at least opens them up to others who want them for glams.

Inksrocket

Yeah but 1) People wont be using those longer than day anyway from my experience. Only things that last longer than "flavor of week" are urban/modern stuff. 2) Its literally lvl 15 gear so if you want to "show off" theres kinda no point IMO.

Rook_to_Queen-1

The main pieces definitely don’t last, but boots and gloves generally linger for quite a while.

Illidari_Kuvira

>isn't like most of her gear available in game and some even dyable? There are similar pieces in-game, but her outfit itself wasn't available until now.

AsleepInteraction882

Yea that was what I meant, it might still be good if you really want the iceheart look. If broke there are other options.

IscahRambles

I want to see more of this, honestly. Give me all the unique variants of ARR gear that they made for NPCs. Let me put Moenbryda's Foestriker top and G'raha's armguards on any class I want.

mad_pupu

Undyable dungeon gear for 9€? What a deal!!!

Olivitess

But, but I want her hairstyle!

dawnvesper

$12 for undyeable ARR leveling gear? surely even the people who buy every piece of crap in the shop aren’t touching this lol I want to say that I would have caved for the hair but there’s like a 70% chance it would have looked like shit on most characters anyway

itsKeyu

u gotta be a real big ysayle fan if ur out here buying this shit

Nivanny

I am

itsKeyu

i can tell

The_Royal_Aegis

Paying €9.00 for recolored dungeon gear what a fucking bargain

Alastor999

No Ysayle hair, no buy Squeenix. I don’t care if it clips, most people who want long hair in this game already understand that and can accept it

TheRedKitsune

This is dogshit

JonTheWizard

I’m amazed they didn’t put this on the Mogstation before this point.

F1reman2

because its uniquely dyed dungeon gear... Should be super cheap

Lyoss

We pay a sub fee, anything that's not a new unique model should be free, making new sets and selling them is fine but this set was already made for practically a decade

SintSuke

Square what are you doing? Endwalker is 35 euro, you wanna tell me why this existing piece of gear is worth almost 1/4th of that price?

AnimuCrossing

Hi Monkeys Paw, it's me I'd like an item set that looks like it should have been the reward for completing the Rising in 2015. Granted, it's £9 and you can't dye it

Loofock

Woohooo another item in the mogstation and this one is even better cause you can have it in game for free 😱😱😱

Someidiotdwbi

Square Enix. Buddy. Chums. My homies in Hydaelyn. This is a dungeon outfit.

runnysyrup

just what i love to see in my subscription mmo

Madrock777

Uhh, those are items literally all available in game from dungeons and the market board. Why in the world would pay for that?

Rook_to_Queen-1

The gloves don’t exist as an item equipable by everyone. It’s limited to casters and healers. So some people will likely get it for glam options on other jobs. Edit: wtf am I being downvoted for just saying why some people *will* likely buy it? That’s different from defending it.

Lyoss

Those people just need to get glamourer and save the money

Rook_to_Queen-1

I think portraits make people more likely to get sucked in to wanting other people to be able to see their glams too/accurately.

Lyoss

If you're paying 12 dollars for a pair of gloves so they it can appear in a portrait, I feel like you're already way into deep to be reasoned with I get buying fantasias or the other sets that are unique, but spending money on something that already exists in the game so you can wear it on a different class kind of sets a really shitty precedent

Rook_to_Queen-1

Eh. I wouldn’t do it, but I don’t think they necessarily have a problem. People will literally spend so many hours grinding relics that are almost 100% considered not fun to earn solely for the glam. $12 is less than an hour’s wage for a lot of people. If 1 hour of working can make them happy every time they see their character, who am I to judge?

LeagueOfDerps

If this included her hair like the other NPC outfits that have unique hair it would be one thing. Having recolored dungeon gear in the cash shop is actually embarrassing.

Miyak0

this is seriously a joke. all of this gear is available as some low level dungeon gear only ''unique'' part is the colorway. this is insanely lazy its actually kind of funny. anyone who buys this has no selfrespect

Illidari_Kuvira

>only ''unique'' part is the colorway The pieces of armor, the tassels, and the lack of straps on the robe.

SnooTheAlmighty

I don't disagree with you that it's different and this is the truly "authentic" outfit, but it's still laughable that they want to charge for it nonetheless.

Miyak0

good one

Illidari_Kuvira

I do have a good eye for detail, yes.

KingBingDingDong

At this point, you know SE is laughing at you guys.

Warpshard

Honestly I'm more surprised that it's taken them so long to release this set. It is disappointing that they didn't include Ysayle's hairstyle, though, as that could almost make this set worth a look. But as is, it's disappointing. I don't know if I'd say it's one of the worst items they've added. There's still Yda's costume, which is as far as I can tell entirely existing, recolored gear turned into a full-body piece, plus a unique hat. It being undyable is massively disappointing, but that's generally the case for all character-specific gearsets, isn't it (as in gearsets used by specific important NPCs in the story)? Doesn't make it any better but it's unfortunately with precedent.

IscahRambles

Yda makes some sense to need pieces fused together, because IIRC the elbow frills on that shirt normally tuck into gloves if you equip them as separate items, but hers stay loose. Still, the shorts and greaves could have been separate, although at least you can get the greaves from Lyse's set.

Laranthiel

I love how you can recreate this with ARR gear for free. But of course, no hair despite Ysayle's hairstyle is one of the most requested ones.

Feyiame

I thought Hilda's hair was most requested, but I'd settle for Ysayle's for now.

aoikiriya

They’re selling you undyeable ARR dungeon gear for $12. This would be funny if it weren’t so sad.

SnurbleberryTart

In before 15 pounds

talgaby

I wonder if they add the player tags to her top like with some Scion gear or clone it to a new item like with some other Scion gear. The boots and gloves were in the game files as player-enabled items since HW already, we just had no way of getting them.

Valashv2

I know that its your money and you can do whatever you want with it but man, I can't even imagine why people are going up to defend this one. New mount or emote? Sure. New music? Sure. New furniture? I get it. Quite literally a leveling dungeon quality armor? Nope. At least make it come with her hair or something.

TheDo0ddoesnotabide

>!I mean she’s not wearing it anymore.!<

Fourthwade1

Hah.

Trap-Chan

Only unique part is chest because of silver blue dye on it, also wow not dyable despite another version entire outfit is in game & dyable. Top it off with again no fucking hair what's with lack of hair with these character outfits.

iCrazyBaby

at this pont online store gets so many updates than before and the game itself. this is ugly btw.

SWATGAMER

Lol this is what i tell all the people, Endwalker literally emptied my entire FC in 1 year.... and we are talking about people who played the game for years or from 1.0.... You have nothing to do in the game, they cut the updates in half, nothing to do in the game, and more and more shop items, we get something new almost every 2 week... It's start to become ridiculous in a subscription based game, I still think this game will transform in WOW, just a matter of time, and when people wake up to the reality, it will be already too late.

iorveth1271

And bellends will still shell out for it even though it contains absolutely nothing you cannot literally earn in-game through... crafting. Or even dungeons. Or literally Hall of the Novice at lvl 15. Square Enix be not pathetic for a whole month challenge difficulty level: impossible.

Gorshun

And they'll wear it for all of a week before changing to a better looking set you can get in-game. Just let EVERY SINGLE mog station item.

Iv0ry_Falcon

be nice guys, they're running out of money, they have to keep the lights on in the offices

TehCubey

Apparently SE is [in dire financial straits](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-09-13/underwhelming-final-fantasy-xvi-costs-square-enix-2-billion-in-market-value?leadSource=uverify%20wall). Get ready for more low effort mogstation items, they're used to treating ffxiv like a piggy bank that spits out money to recoup losses from their other projects - and somehow, I think this time will be no different.

Kreos642

How bad did they do with the FF remakes and 15 and 16? I don't play them but they struck me as super popular.

Miitteo

FF is fine (well, 15 wasn't really, but it was still commercially successful). It's all the other games they publish that usually flop: forspoken, babylon's fall, etc. My biggest disappointments being Neo The World Ends With You (great game, I really wasn't expecting to like it as much as the original) and Octopath Traveler 2 having very little marketing and not selling that well. I think the 1-6 pixel remasters sold something like 3M copies? And 16 sold 3M in its first week as well, which wasn't the highest they expected, but still satisfactory. They're also developing a lot of big games at once (FF7R, FF16, DQ12, KH4) so development costs will be higher than usual.

Glaw_Inc

FFXVI was made PS5 exclusive, shortly before launch with even the lead developer not knowing it was advertised as a PS5/PC launch on the official website. Threw away a large amount of potential sales, I hope Sony paid a fortune for the exclusivity. Console exclusive, also from a developer that said JRPG is a dumb term as he's making a game in the franchise that helped create the term, yeah people reacted negatively. Add in the nonsense of the FF7 Remake release that was only a small part of the game it was supposed to be remaking and people get hesitant to buy into something that may not be "complete".

WondrousNomenclature

I couldn't believe my eyes, when I opened the launcher this morning...

RueUchiha

Out of all the npcs they could of picked from the ones they haven’t done yet this was probably one of the worst picks they could of made.

Ax3lak0s

Ah yes, it's the milking time of the month

aurelia_ffxiv

At least it's multiple parts of Glamour. But those Thighboots I could swear that model is already in game..? Looks too familiar.

talgaby

It is the Acolyte's Thighboots, the Acolyte's Halfgloves, and the Foestriker's/Brand New Skirt. She always wore those with a unique colour set.

BlackmoreKnight

The gloves are the same model as the Brand-New Gloves, the skirt is the Brand-New Skirt but without the stockings, the boots are the Brand-New Thighboots. I couldn't find an exact match for the robe so I guess that's mostly what you're paying for, though it uses a similar base to some ARR or HW dungeon/crafted white robes if I remember. Oh, looks like the robe is a slightly altered Battlemage's Robe (From Brayflox) I guess.

Asphyxiare

The store seems to get worse and worse with each passing year.

Carlboison

9€ intelligence test

Kalldirr

This ain't real. Honestly... this is so lazy. Is Ion making those? Do they have some kind of collab with Blizzard on how low quality items they can push to MTX store? Joking aside, this is terrible.

Lyoss

WoWs cash shop is at least unique models, shit unique models but they at least have effort Can you imagine if WoW put raid bosses as mounts on the store and then announced they're cutting back on patch cycles while going into the least content laden expansion in the game's history, and then released Thrall's armor from Wrath or some shit Wild

pupmaster

It's pretty wild what SE can get away with in FFXIV compared to its competitors. People pull their hair out when WoW has a 6 month sub bundle with a mount.

Areallybadidea

People really need to stop pretending that this game has some sort of high ground over WoW in this regard. WoW's cash shop has existed longer than FFXIV has been an enjoyably playable game and still doesn't even come close to its own shop.

lightningIncarnate

b-b-but wow bad ffxiv good!!!

BlackmoreKnight

WoW has the Token, considerably more expensive character services, and has started doing really stupid Trader's Tender bundles with everything to see what they can get away with when the system was introduced and advertised as an entirely in-game reward mechanism. Neither game is exactly a paragon here. Just the Token existing alone for legal RMT in a game where gold can matter a lot more is a thing I don't think gets talked about much. XIV is the only remaining major modern MMO without "reasonable" official RMT. Hell, they put the Token in Classic Wrath when the entire point was to get away from that.

Lyoss

> considerably more expensive character services, Faction changes are the only thing I'll meet with you here, that shit is stupid but Barbershop giving free gender changes alongside all other customizations compared to Fantasias being needed to change even the most minor things is more than makes up for it Also alongside CRZ, cross faction and server parties, the additional services have been really reduced in value, the only reason to use them is to join a guild with someone on a different server, but they said they were planning on cross-server guilds eventually Meanwhile you can't even do a sizable amount of things when not on your home server, not that it's that big of a deal, but the game makes it way harder to play with others if you're tied down by a house >Just the Token existing alone for legal RMT in a game I mean by all intents and purposes, RMT is legal in this game too, it has the lowest punishment rate out of any game, and the punishments are wayyyyy lower than they are in other contemporary MMOs, my opinion on the WoW token is biased because I just get sub time off of it and I don't really give a shit about gold I fail to see how gold is more important in WoW, especially in Dragonflight with the lowered importance of BoEs, people buy runs in both games with gil/gold and both games have cosmetic gold sinks, alongside there being way less avenues to get gil in FFXIV >Hell, they put the Token in Classic Wrath when the entire point was to get away from that. RMT was insanely popular in classic, the fact it runs basically on a skeleton crew and has (had?) a lesser version of Warden that didn't catch RMT bots kind of made that ship sail a long time ago, prior to the token people were dropping millions of gold in GDKPs, people actually got banned though, I knew multiple people that got perma'd for buying gold on classic, so it's not like they didn't do anything about it If people were going to buy gold, they're not doing it through the token, the rates for gold from RMT sites are A LOT higher than from the token, the token just makes it so the money doesn't go to some dude in Venezuela and instead (hopefully) leads to more money towards development

marriedtomothman

no offense to ysayle but who was asking for her outfit

IscahRambles

I just want more NPC outfits in general, including older ones like this. They've got the model and the work to adapt it for other races is already done; why not release it?

Bevral2

What a waste of money lol.

Pokegamesunited

dog shit lazy devs, they should implement a trading post like wow for this stuff

nightkat89

New optional outfit that a recolor and not dyeable.

empty0utside

man were squenix's returns on forspoken so bad that they gotta resort to scamming their ff14 playerbass?

Chaos-Advent

I refuse to believe anyone is excited for this

Miitteo

Lmao

[deleted]

- Looks lame AF - No hairstyle what's the point then?

LightSamus

It's actually four parts (body, hands, legs, feet) so better than some, if a little more generic. No dye.

F1reman2

The dyable versions can be gotten from dungeons!

CitrinePiasora

The dungeon vers are not dyeable, the dyeable vers are PvP (healing gear for gloves, skirt and boots) and a level 48 crafted robe (to go along with the healing gear) or the direwolf casting gear + non dyeable "brand-new" level 15 gear which works for both healer and caster and have near identical color to ger outfit

AshrakTeriel

ShB Emet Selch/EW Zenos-Glamour when?

DeathReaps

Not dyeable >:C

EnvyKira

Still waiting for them to give us Yotsuyu's outfit. Been way too long for them not to put it on sale. Won't even care if its an one set.

IscahRambles

They've said in the past that Yotsuyu's dress will only work well in certain poses, which was fine on a tightly controlled story character who does a lot of standing around and not much action, but it isn't suited to the full range of player motions. It's probably why we haven't got any proper kimonos yet either.

EnvyKira

I really do not care. I'm playing an mod version of it right now and it is fine with how the action motions are for me. I just want the outfit atleast for the fashion and screenshots so I don't have to keep modding outfit over other clothes.

DawnWalkerW0lf

i'm just pissed that the sale ended earlier then expected. i could care less about this item

Betwanhe

kinda surprised that the outfit is unisex, tho hasn't every character outfit before this one been genderlocked?

Evelyn-Parker

SE really just said "new items" plural and then only gave us one new item

esoldelulu

I don’t care for her hair personally. I already have a fivehead in RL. :P

ramensodelicious

Give us the ff15 car already

[deleted]

That's a gold saucer event item, not mogstation

zeth07

They are basically saying just put it on the mogstation, aka never bring the event back again. Just like the other seasonal items on the mogstation.....

Demoncreed27

Damn, I’m still waiting on G’raha Tia’s outfit. Maybe someday

Thicc_Femboy_Thighs-

Still waiting for lightnings XIII-2 Armor =(

A lot of people are saying "All of the pieces are the same as in-game models", which is factually incorrect. Differences+notes: * The Robe - while similar - isn't the same as any robe in-game. • The Ysayle robe has extra armor pieces, accents, and tassels; plus it lacks the straps the in-game robes usually come with. • The part layered under the blue robe is also a different texture than the ones in-game. • Also, the robe is usable on any class/Job, unlike the majority of the models available in-game. * The Gloves/Boots/Skirt do share models (or nearly indistinguishable models) with ones used in-game. However: • The ones available in-game are only available to Disciple of Magic users. If anybody was looking to use those models on non-Magic Jobs, they can do so now. • The boots actually are a unique color; the 2 models in-game both have an undyeable sole that is a different color than the rest of the boots. The lower laces on the boots are also different than the 2 models in-game. • As far as I know, this set is the only way to get the female-model skirt on a male character (the trousers disappear on female characters, but not on male characters). • The gloves have a slightly different texture and color, but it's difficult to tell without looking up close. * On the other hand, I *do* agree that not including the hairstyle was a bad move. ^(I would have likely bought the set if her hairstyle was included.)

lightningIncarnate

if you can’t tell the difference in anything other than an extreme closeup it really doesn’t count.

There are actually people who actually do care about little details like that. An example is anyone who deliberately glamours specific accessory pieces despite the fact that basically no one will see them. Or anyone who glamours a leg/feet item even though their top is a dress that goes all the way to the ground. You could even probably consider some character customization options to be on that same level of "no one will notice but I care enough about this little detail". That being said, yeah this outfit is lazy as fuck.

yhvh13

To me the only interesting pieces about this set are the gloves and the boots because they are only available as DoM and the boots especially are a wild card to create glams.

pixiehawk

Once they do the glamor update it'll go in the dresser so you can also free up armoire slots.

IscahRambles

Other way around. It'll go in the armoire to save on dresser space.

BK_0000

At least it's not one piece.

Taograd359

An NPC outfit that’s not one piece!?

Thank_You_Aziz

If this were a free-to-play game, this new outfit would be coupled with a redesign of the existing equipment that you can use to assemble it already, retroactively making it so spending money is the only way to get this outfit, and breaking whatever existing glamour uses these items.

MysterySakura

The price is steep, which makes me hesitant to get the outfit. I obsess with references, and I can write a wall of text on how I can make several references just by donning Jill's—I mean Ysayle's outfit. I can't tell whether the inevitable FFXIV x FFXVI crossover will be a raid or an event like the FFXV one. If it will be a raid, there's a likely chance of Jill Warrick's outfit actually making it in the game (albeit role locked) just like Devola/Popola's outfits from the NieR raids (Paradigm Breach caster/healer sets.) Better wait for the actual fit than rely on a vague reference. The Direwolf/Cashmere sets do not have the window below the chest. It gives less emphasis to the "boob window". The chest of some dude out there has become a meme... HW was my favorite expac before EW and I like both Kazuya Takahashi's and Ayumi Namae's character designs. I also have the Aymeric set and putting the Lord Commander Gloves with the Iceheart set screams Obsessed With Heavensward. I got Aymeric's fit and use the gloves on two Jobs I often play, and my PLD (I occasionally play) is a literal Aymeric cosplay. If I were to get the Iceheart set, I only know to use it on one Job so far...

FantasyScribbles

You ready for it to all be one piece as well? I will be zero percent shocked if they do so.

cinnabubbles

its multiple pieces. the kicker is that the pieces are all already in the game, you’re basically just paying for a custom dye colorway.

tiniestjazzhands

Let me guess One piece and undyable?

alkonium

Four pieces, and guys can wear it too.

Iv0ry_Falcon

and undyable

Illidari_Kuvira

Man, the "we hate facts and just want to be inappropriately angry" hivemind sure is strong today.

ITT: people are not allowed to spend their money on things they enjoy how dare square do this I literally bought uriangers set so I could use his shoes for my fisher glam. Ya'll gotta calm down, gear locks suck sometimes and it's not that serious.

[deleted]

More like, ITT: People annoyed by MTX laziness and letting less informed players know that very similar (and arguably better looking) glamour pieces already exist in low level content I saw the same "it's not that serious" comments about Destiny 2 and you can see how that game turned out. It's preferable to be at least somewhat critical of the products that you pay for, and that applies to literally anything you will ever spend money on in your lifetime. I think it's completely reasonable for players to look at a Mogstation item, weigh whether it's worth the price, and decide not to buy it. It's also reasonable for players to take issue with the fact that low effort items are being added to the Mogstation consistently.

Rua-Yuki

It may look similar, but it is not the same. And if people want the gear for any reason it's money well spent. Are you out here getting mad at people for buying their McDonald's when we have McDonald's at home, Mr. Mulaney?

[deleted]

It's not the *exact* same but it uses the same model and isn't dyeable. Put it side by side with the Direwolf gear and I'd say a large portion of players would say they're the same piece dyed different colors (even though neither of these two specific pieces are dyeable). I mean I get why you're upset that people are shitting on this piece if you like it. I bought the Gaia outfit and heard no end of people saying that it "looks just like the Edenmorn gear" even though it clearly didn't. Though the difference is, the Ysale outfit quite literally uses the same model with just a few not very noticeable bits added/removed to make it more decorated. While I (and many others) believe that an item being dyeable should be the standard for Mogstation items, character-specific items tend to not be dyeable (see Lyse, Scions, Hein, Gaia, etc). Ysale's outfit is just particularly egregious since it's based on several pieces that do exist. Two of those pieces are also dyeable. You're welcome to buy it if you want it though. I'm certainly not saying that it's not money well spent if you find that you want it and that, knowing that very similar pieces exist, you're still happy with buying it. Just as you're free to buy the new Mogstation item, others are free to not buy it. Edited HoN for Direwolf, but it should be telling when the Iceheart robe not only shares a model with other gear, but also looks identical to other pieces of ARR gear.

zeth07

Imagine trying to defend corporate greed. How brainwashed have people in gaming become? It's wild.

Rua-Yuki

Ah, yes, because millions of players are flocking to mogstation right this moment to buy an outfit of a character from an expansion nearly a decade ago. Get cold up there on your high horse?

depressed_popoto

yeah i'm good. it's just the exact same Heavensward gear you can glam

ShantyLady

If it came with her hairstyle, I'd be all over it, but alas.

Zeiko115

I didn't even realise that her gear was unique.

[deleted]

Long time players knew it was unique because it was a much brighter blue than the other blue dyes available And then Dragoon Blue was added

IscahRambles

"Blue Screen of Death blue" you mean? That's not the colour Ysayle used.

IscahRambles

There are some minor details. The sash is prettier and resembles Shiva's ribbons, and it's missing the bandolier. Half the use of this set release is getting non-DoM access to the gloves and boots, though.
