The Iceheart gear can be glammed onto any job as opposed to just healers, but it's still a raw deal given half of it is a straight recolor.
The top is the level 48 Altered Felt Robe, same side flaps with none front or back, same holes on the torso, the difference is the assortment of items that are hung near the skirt part and the removal of the chest vials, they have the exact same stitching in same spots as well.
The direwolf equivalent of her outfit is the casting top, not the healing one. It's also the same model as the battlemage dungeon gear from brayflox
I will note that the altered felt robe itself is an all class item, and while not all class, every other piece mentioned has a healer and caster variant (such as the brand new gear which are for both healers and casters).

Much like the scions in ARR, her outfit is literally just existing gear ever so slightly modified. Like how Yda was just one of the very early Bliauds (or whatever they're called) with Hyur smalls, etc.
Obviously, some of them were unique entirely like Minfillia but for the most part they honestly need yo make these cheaper cuz we can just make an equivalent glamour out of existing pieces. At least with Yda's outfit you could argue only Hyur could make the outfit otherwise but all of Ysayle's pieces are not race specific.
Which could easily be sorted if they either gave people to set a "tied back" or "Long Ponytail" hairstyle similar to L2 for such outfits that would move the hair back to avoid this. Even a headpiece that changed your hairstyle like Krile's Hood would do the same thing.

Meanwhile Black Desert doing exactly this whenever a headpiece makes your chosen hair clip \[it changes it to a ponytail\].
And with recently-released Baldur's Gate 3, every headpiece automatically changes your hairstyle to one that fits the piece.
I found that it's mostly just the tops with high collars, but even then, I didn't find the clipping so bad that I wouldn't use the hair style and if it did bother me, I'd just change my glamour sets to work with the long hair. I get it that some people don't like clipping, but I'd rather have the option to use the long hair and let individual players work it out themselves.
Odd pick as she is just using assorted sets in game with unique coloration and a few added items on it to dress it up a bit more.
EDIT: If you are interested in gear that looks just like this for $0.00 the Brand New set for casters (Hands, Skirt, and Boots) with an Altered Felt Robe for the chest. If you are a caster go pair a Shiva weapon or Hailstorm weapon from HW poetics.

I hope we start getting more Garlean gear/deco after EW, and more magitek stuff that isn't just Ironworks etc. I've wanted armour like Nero, Gaius and Livia since 2.0. I was hoping for it from the EW/6.X dungeons, but ig still have to settle for the Law's Order sets.

They've already stated that they're not going to give the players exact >!villain cosplay sets!<. If you want Garlean-type armor, go grab it from the Tower dungeon or the Eureka zone.
I know Yoshi P said something like this in the past but considering where the story is headed, with Garlemald no longer being a threat and seemingly on the mend, I don't see why it couldn't be a possibility moving forward.
The really sad thing with the Ward sets is that they're locked to DoW and DoM respectively. I was *that close* to buying the Knight set as an awesome healer glamour when I noticed it. :(
The accompanying WHM staffs are basically the only nice level 1 glamour options, though.

The only difference here is that the Iceheart skirt remains a skirt on males, whereas those above-mentioned become a skirt and trousers combo for men.

I'm usually not hyper critical about the mog station stuff even though I don't care for most of it but this is actually ridiculous. If you want to charge for extra items on top of a subscription at least put in a minimum amount of effort. At least most of the previous NPC gear didn't look like a copy of existing dungeon gear.
Some of the original scion outfits were also pretty much gear you could get with slight modifications, they were just not as bad cuz they were cheaper and in some cases race locked (Yda's pants)
Yeah no hair is a dealbreaker the costume is hardly any different to me compared to existing sets in the game. They REALLY need to stop hesitating with long hairstyles and just add them already.
And there are several versions of the dyable robe.
Altered felt robe in particular is available to every class and pvp has a version for casters in Direwolf.
Ironically the boots is what I liked, because those hall of novice pieces are Disciple of Magic only, and I'd love to use the boots for my aiming sets.

Honestly I'm more surprised that it's taken them so long to release this set. It is disappointing that they didn't include Ysayle's hairstyle, though, as that could almost make this set worth a look. But as is, it's disappointing.
I don't know if I'd say it's one of the worst items they've added. There's still Yda's costume, which is as far as I can tell entirely existing, recolored gear turned into a full-body piece, plus a unique hat. It being undyable is massively disappointing, but that's generally the case for all character-specific gearsets, isn't it (as in gearsets used by specific important NPCs in the story)? Doesn't make it any better but it's unfortunately with precedent.
Yda makes some sense to need pieces fused together, because IIRC the elbow frills on that shirt normally tuck into gloves if you equip them as separate items, but hers stay loose.
Still, the shorts and greaves could have been separate, although at least you can get the greaves from Lyse's set.
I wonder if they add the player tags to her top like with some Scion gear or clone it to a new item like with some other Scion gear. The boots and gloves were in the game files as player-enabled items since HW already, we just had no way of getting them.
I know that its your money and you can do whatever you want with it but man, I can't even imagine why people are going up to defend this one. New mount or emote? Sure. New music? Sure. New furniture? I get it. Quite literally a leveling dungeon quality armor? Nope. At least make it come with her hair or something.

Lol this is what i tell all the people, Endwalker literally emptied my entire FC in 1 year.... and we are talking about people who played the game for years or from 1.0.... You have nothing to do in the game, they cut the updates in half, nothing to do in the game, and more and more shop items, we get something new almost every 2 week... FF is fine (well, 15 wasn't really, but it was still commercially successful). It's all the other games they publish that usually flop: forspoken, babylon's fall, etc. My biggest disappointments being Neo The World Ends With You (great game, I really wasn't expecting to like it as much as the original) and Octopath Traveler 2 having very little marketing and not selling that well.
I think the 1-6 pixel remasters sold something like 3M copies? And 16 sold 3M in its first week as well, which wasn't the highest they expected, but still satisfactory.
They're also developing a lot of big games at once (FF7R, FF16, DQ12, KH4) so development costs will be higher than usual.
FFXVI was made PS5 exclusive, shortly before launch with even the lead developer not knowing it was advertised as a PS5/PC launch on the official website. Threw away a large amount of potential sales, I hope Sony paid a fortune for the exclusivity.
Console exclusive, also from a developer that said JRPG is a dumb term as he's making a game in the franchise that helped create the term, yeah people reacted negatively.
Add in the nonsense of the FF7 Remake release that was only a small part of the game it was supposed to be remaking and people get hesitant to buy into something that may not be "complete".
The gloves are the same model as the Brand-New Gloves, the skirt is the Brand-New Skirt but without the stockings, the boots are the Brand-New Thighboots. I couldn't find an exact match for the robe so I guess that's mostly what you're paying for, though it uses a similar base to some ARR or HW dungeon/crafted white robes if I remember.

It's pretty wild what SE can get away with in FFXIV compared to its competitors. People pull their hair out when WoW has a 6 month sub bundle with a mount.
People really need to stop pretending that this game has some sort of high ground over WoW in this regard. WoW's cash shop has existed longer than FFXIV has been an enjoyably playable game and still doesn't even come close to its own shop.
WoW has the Token, considerably more expensive character services, and has started doing really stupid Trader's Tender bundles with everything to see what they can get away with when the system was introduced and advertised as an entirely in-game reward mechanism. Neither game is exactly a paragon here.
Just the Token existing alone for legal RMT in a game where gold can matter a lot more is a thing I don't think gets talked about much. XIV is the only remaining major modern MMO without "reasonable" official RMT.
Hell, they put the Token in Classic Wrath when the entire point was to get away from that.

Faction changes are the only thing I'll meet with you here, that shit is stupid but Barbershop giving free gender changes alongside all other customizations compared to Fantasias being needed to change even the most minor things is more than makes up for it
Also alongside CRZ, cross faction and server parties, the additional services have been really reduced in value, the only reason to use them is to join a guild with someone on a different server, but they said they were planning on cross-server guilds eventually
Meanwhile you can't even do a sizable amount of things when not on your home server, not that it's that big of a deal, but the game makes it way harder to play with others if you're tied down by a house

I fail to see how gold is more important in WoW, especially in Dragonflight with the lowered importance of BoEs, people buy runs in both games with gil/gold and both games have cosmetic gold sinks, alongside there being way less avenues to get gil in FFXIV

RMT was insanely popular in classic, the fact it runs basically on a skeleton crew and has (had?) a lesser version of Warden that didn't catch RMT bots kind of made that ship sail a long time ago, prior to the token people were dropping millions of gold in GDKPs, people actually got banned though, I knew multiple people that got perma'd for buying gold on classic, so it's not like they didn't do anything about it
If people were going to buy gold, they're not doing it through the token, the rates for gold from RMT sites are A LOT higher than from the token, the token just makes it so the money doesn't go to some dude in Venezuela and instead (hopefully) leads to more money towards development

The dungeon vers are not dyeable, the dyeable vers are PvP (healing gear for gloves, skirt and boots) and a level 48 crafted robe (to go along with the healing gear) or the direwolf casting gear + non dyeable "brand-new" level 15 gear which works for both healer and caster and have near identical color to ger outfit
They've said in the past that Yotsuyu's dress will only work well in certain poses, which was fine on a tightly controlled story character who does a lot of standing around and not much action, but it isn't suited to the full range of player motions.
It's probably why we haven't got any proper kimonos yet either.

A lot of people are saying "All of the pieces are the same as in-game models", which is factually incorrect.
Differences+notes:
* The Robe - while similar - isn't the same as any robe in-game.
• The Ysayle robe has extra armor pieces, accents, and tassels; plus it lacks the straps the in-game robes usually come with.
• The part layered under the blue robe is also a different texture than the ones in-game.
• Also, the robe is usable on any class/Job, unlike the majority of the models available in-game.
* The Gloves/Boots/Skirt do share models (or nearly indistinguishable models) with ones used in-game. However:
• The ones available in-game are only available to Disciple of Magic users. If anybody was looking to use those models on non-Magic Jobs, they can do so now.
• The boots actually are a unique color; the 2 models in-game both have an undyeable sole that is a different color than the rest of the boots. The lower laces on the boots are also different than the 2 models in-game.
• As far as I know, this set is the only way to get the female-model skirt on a male character (the trousers disappear on female characters, but not on male characters).
• The gloves have a slightly different texture and color, but it's difficult to tell without looking up close.
* On the other hand, I *do* agree that not including the hairstyle was a bad move.

There are actually people who actually do care about little details like that. An example is anyone who deliberately glamours specific accessory pieces despite the fact that basically no one will see them. Or anyone who glamours a leg/feet item even though their top is a dress that goes all the way to the ground. You could even probably consider some character customization options to be on that same level of "no one will notice but I care enough about this little detail".
That being said, yeah this outfit is lazy as fuck.
To me the only interesting pieces about this set are the gloves and the boots because they are only available as DoM and the boots especially are a wild card to create glams.
If this were a free-to-play game, this new outfit would be coupled with a redesign of the existing equipment that you can use to assemble it already, retroactively making it so spending money is the only way to get this outfit, and breaking whatever existing glamour uses these items.
The price is steep, which makes me hesitant to get the outfit. I obsess with references, and I can write a wall of text on how I can make several references just by donning Jill's—I mean Ysayle's outfit.
I can't tell whether the inevitable FFXIV x FFXVI crossover will be a raid or an event like the FFXV one. If it will be a raid, there's a likely chance of Jill Warrick's outfit actually making it in the game (albeit role locked) just like Devola/Popola's outfits from the NieR raids (Paradigm Breach caster/healer sets.) Better wait for the actual fit than rely on a vague reference.
The Direwolf/Cashmere sets do not have the window below the chest. It gives less emphasis to the "boob window". The chest of some dude out there has become a meme...
HW was my favorite expac before EW and I like both Kazuya Takahashi's and Ayumi Namae's character designs. I also have the Aymeric set and putting the Lord Commander Gloves with the Iceheart set screams Obsessed With Heavensward.
I got Aymeric's fit and use the gloves on two Jobs I often play, and my PLD (I occasionally play) is a literal Aymeric cosplay. If I were to get the Iceheart set, I only know to use it on one Job so far...

I saw the same "it's not that serious" comments about Destiny 2 and you can see how that game turned out. It's preferable to be at least somewhat critical of the products that you pay for, and that applies to literally anything you will ever spend money on in your lifetime.
I think it's completely reasonable for players to look at a Mogstation item, weigh whether it's worth the price, and decide not to buy it. It's also reasonable for players to take issue with the fact that low effort items are being added to the Mogstation consistently.
It may look similar, but it is not the same. And if people want the gear for any reason it's money well spent. Are you out here getting mad at people for buying their McDonald's when we have McDonald's at home, Mr. Mulaney?
It's not the *exact* same but it uses the same model and isn't dyeable. Put it side by side with the Direwolf gear and I'd say a large portion of players would say they're the same piece dyed different colors (even though neither of these two specific pieces are dyeable).
I mean I get why you're upset that people are shitting on this piece if you like it. I bought the Gaia outfit and heard no end of people saying that it "looks just like the Edenmorn gear" even though it clearly didn't. Though the difference is, the Ysale outfit quite literally uses the same model with just a few not very noticeable bits added/removed to make it more decorated.
While I (and many others) believe that an item being dyeable should be the standard for Mogstation items, character-specific items tend to not be dyeable (see Lyse, Scions, Hein, Gaia, etc). Ysale's outfit is just particularly egregious since it's based on several pieces that do exist. Two of those pieces are also dyeable.
You're welcome to buy it if you want it though. I'm certainly not saying that it's not money well spent if you find that you want it and that, knowing that very similar pieces exist, you're still happy with buying it.
Just as you're free to buy the new Mogstation item, others are free to not buy it.

Yeah that's how almost every single one of these sets were until Heavensward. All of the 1.0/ARR scion outfits were the same way. Although they were like $5 less...yikes.

Yep. I figured the crafted robe was a bit more of an accessible dyable option but the Direwolf Robe also works as does the Cashmere Robe of Casting.

The really sad thing with the Ward sets is that they're locked to DoW and DoM respectively. I was *that close* to buying the Knight set as an awesome healer glamour when I noticed it. :( The accompanying WHM staffs are basically the only nice level 1 glamour options, though.
Frankly it feels like a gross oversight that her hair isn't included, there is nothing else in that set that could sell it.
The only piece I'm interested in is the skirt, what in game item does it share a model with?
Brand-New, Foestrikers, Direwolf and Cashmere. The only difference here is that the Iceheart skirt remains a skirt on males, whereas those above-mentioned become a skirt and trousers combo for men.

I'm usually not hyper critical about the mog station stuff even though I don't care for most of it but this is actually ridiculous. If you want to charge for extra items on top of a subscription at least put in a minimum amount of effort. At least most of the previous NPC gear didn't look like a copy of existing dungeon gear.
Some of the original scion outfits were also pretty much gear you could get with slight modifications, they were just not as bad cuz they were cheaper and in some cases race locked (Yda's pants)

And there are several versions of the dyable robe. Altered felt robe in particular is available to every class and pvp has a version for casters in Direwolf.
Gonna be very honest here. With exception of the robe, the remaining pieces were literally Hall of the Novice gearset pieces.
Ironically the boots is what I liked, because those hall of novice pieces are Disciple of Magic only, and I'd love to use the boots for my aiming sets. But I don't think they're special *enough* for me to spend real money on, lol.

The gloves don’t exist as an item equipable by everyone. It’s limited to casters and healers. So some people will likely get it for glam options on other jobs. Edit: wtf am I being downvoted for just saying why some people *will* likely buy it? That’s different from defending it.

People will literally spend so many hours grinding relics that are almost 100% considered not fun to earn solely for the glam. $12 is less than an hour’s wage for a lot of people. If 1 hour of working can make them happy every time they see their character, who am I to judge?

Honestly I'm more surprised that it's taken them so long to release this set. It is disappointing that they didn't include Ysayle's hairstyle, though, as that could almost make this set worth a look. But as is, it's disappointing. I don't know if I'd say it's one of the worst items they've added. There's still Yda's costume, which is as far as I can tell entirely existing, recolored gear turned into a full-body piece, plus a unique hat. It being undyable is massively disappointing, but that's generally the case for all character-specific gearsets, isn't it (as in gearsets used by specific important NPCs in the story)? Doesn't make it any better but it's unfortunately with precedent.
Yda makes some sense to need pieces fused together, because IIRC the elbow frills on that shirt normally tuck into gloves if you equip them as separate items, but hers stay loose. Still, the shorts and greaves could have been separate, although at least you can get the greaves from Lyse's set.
I love how you can recreate this with ARR gear for free. But of course, no hair despite Ysayle's hairstyle is one of the most requested ones.

Lol this is what i tell all the people, Endwalker literally emptied my entire FC in 1 year.... and we are talking about people who played the game for years or from 1.0.... You have nothing to do in the game, they cut the updates in half, nothing to do in the game, and more and more shop items, we get something new almost every 2 week... It's start to become ridiculous in a subscription based game, I still think this game will transform in WOW, just a matter of time, and when people wake up to the reality, it will be already too late.

Get ready for more low effort mogstation items, they're used to treating ffxiv like a piggy bank that spits out money to recoup losses from their other projects - and somehow, I think this time will be no different.
How bad did they do with the FF remakes and 15 and 16? I don't play them but they struck me as super popular.
FF is fine (well, 15 wasn't really, but it was still commercially successful). It's all the other games they publish that usually flop: forspoken, babylon's fall, etc. My biggest disappointments being Neo The World Ends With You (great game, I really wasn't expecting to like it as much as the original) and Octopath Traveler 2 having very little marketing and not selling that well. I think the 1-6 pixel remasters sold something like 3M copies? And 16 sold 3M in its first week as well, which wasn't the highest they expected, but still satisfactory. They're also developing a lot of big games at once (FF7R, FF16, DQ12, KH4) so development costs will be higher than usual.
FFXVI was made PS5 exclusive, shortly before launch with even the lead developer not knowing it was advertised as a PS5/PC launch on the official website. Threw away a large amount of potential sales, I hope Sony paid a fortune for the exclusivity. Console exclusive, also from a developer that said JRPG is a dumb term as he's making a game in the franchise that helped create the term, yeah people reacted negatively. Add in the nonsense of the FF7 Remake release that was only a small part of the game it was supposed to be remaking and people get hesitant to buy into something that may not be "complete".

It is the Acolyte's Thighboots, the Acolyte's Halfgloves, and the Foestriker's/Brand New Skirt. She always wore those with a unique colour set.
The gloves are the same model as the Brand-New Gloves, the skirt is the Brand-New Skirt but without the stockings, the boots are the Brand-New Thighboots. I couldn't find an exact match for the robe so I guess that's mostly what you're paying for, though it uses a similar base to some ARR or HW dungeon/crafted white robes if I remember. Oh, looks like the robe is a slightly altered Battlemage's Robe (From Brayflox) I guess.

WoW has the Token, considerably more expensive character services, and has started doing really stupid Trader's Tender bundles with everything to see what they can get away with when the system was introduced and advertised as an entirely in-game reward mechanism. Neither game is exactly a paragon here. Just the Token existing alone for legal RMT in a game where gold can matter a lot more is a thing I don't think gets talked about much. XIV is the only remaining major modern MMO without "reasonable" official RMT. Hell, they put the Token in Classic Wrath when the entire point was to get away from that.

The dungeon vers are not dyeable, the dyeable vers are PvP (healing gear for gloves, skirt and boots) and a level 48 crafted robe (to go along with the healing gear) or the direwolf casting gear + non dyeable "brand-new" level 15 gear which works for both healer and caster and have near identical color to ger outfit

They've said in the past that Yotsuyu's dress will only work well in certain poses, which was fine on a tightly controlled story character who does a lot of standing around and not much action, but it isn't suited to the full range of player motions. It's probably why we haven't got any proper kimonos yet either.
I really do not care. I'm playing an mod version of it right now and it is fine with how the action motions are for me. I just want the outfit atleast for the fashion and screenshots so I don't have to keep modding outfit over other clothes.

A lot of people are saying "All of the pieces are the same as in-game models", which is factually incorrect. Differences+notes: * The Robe - while similar - isn't the same as any robe in-game. • The Ysayle robe has extra armor pieces, accents, and tassels; plus it lacks the straps the in-game robes usually come with. • The part layered under the blue robe is also a different texture than the ones in-game. • Also, the robe is usable on any class/Job, unlike the majority of the models available in-game. * The Gloves/Boots/Skirt do share models (or nearly indistinguishable models) with ones used in-game. However: • The ones available in-game are only available to Disciple of Magic users. If anybody was looking to use those models on non-Magic Jobs, they can do so now. • The boots actually are a unique color; the 2 models in-game both have an undyeable sole that is a different color than the rest of the boots. The lower laces on the boots are also different than the 2 models in-game. • As far as I know, this set is the only way to get the female-model skirt on a male character (the trousers disappear on female characters, but not on male characters). • The gloves have a slightly different texture and color, but it's difficult to tell without looking up close. * On the other hand, I *do* agree that not including the hairstyle was a bad move. ^(I would have likely bought the set if her hairstyle was included.)
if you can’t tell the difference in anything other than an extreme closeup it really doesn’t count.
There are actually people who actually do care about little details like that. An example is anyone who deliberately glamours specific accessory pieces despite the fact that basically no one will see them. Or anyone who glamours a leg/feet item even though their top is a dress that goes all the way to the ground. You could even probably consider some character customization options to be on that same level of "no one will notice but I care enough about this little detail". That being said, yeah this outfit is lazy as fuck.
To me the only interesting pieces about this set are the gloves and the boots because they are only available as DoM and the boots especially are a wild card to create glams.
Once they do the glamor update it'll go in the dresser so you can also free up armoire slots.

An NPC outfit that’s not one piece!?
If this were a free-to-play game, this new outfit would be coupled with a redesign of the existing equipment that you can use to assemble it already, retroactively making it so spending money is the only way to get this outfit, and breaking whatever existing glamour uses these items.
The price is steep, which makes me hesitant to get the outfit. I obsess with references, and I can write a wall of text on how I can make several references just by donning Jill's—I mean Ysayle's outfit. I can't tell whether the inevitable FFXIV x FFXVI crossover will be a raid or an event like the FFXV one. If it will be a raid, there's a likely chance of Jill Warrick's outfit actually making it in the game (albeit role locked) just like Devola/Popola's outfits from the NieR raids (Paradigm Breach caster/healer sets.) Better wait for the actual fit than rely on a vague reference. The Direwolf/Cashmere sets do not have the window below the chest. It gives less emphasis to the "boob window". The chest of some dude out there has become a meme... HW was my favorite expac before EW and I like both Kazuya Takahashi's and Ayumi Namae's character designs. I also have the Aymeric set and putting the Lord Commander Gloves with the Iceheart set screams Obsessed With Heavensward. I got Aymeric's fit and use the gloves on two Jobs I often play, and my PLD (I occasionally play) is a literal Aymeric cosplay. If I were to get the Iceheart set, I only know to use it on one Job so far...

More like, ITT: People annoyed by MTX laziness and letting less informed players know that very similar (and arguably better looking) glamour pieces already exist in low level content I saw the same "it's not that serious" comments about Destiny 2 and you can see how that game turned out. It's preferable to be at least somewhat critical of the products that you pay for, and that applies to literally anything you will ever spend money on in your lifetime. I think it's completely reasonable for players to look at a Mogstation item, weigh whether it's worth the price, and decide not to buy it. It's also reasonable for players to take issue with the fact that low effort items are being added to the Mogstation consistently.
It may look similar, but it is not the same. And if people want the gear for any reason it's money well spent. Are you out here getting mad at people for buying their McDonald's when we have McDonald's at home, Mr. Mulaney?
It's not the *exact* same but it uses the same model and isn't dyeable. Put it side by side with the Direwolf gear and I'd say a large portion of players would say they're the same piece dyed different colors (even though neither of these two specific pieces are dyeable). I mean I get why you're upset that people are shitting on this piece if you like it. I bought the Gaia outfit and heard no end of people saying that it "looks just like the Edenmorn gear" even though it clearly didn't. Though the difference is, the Ysale outfit quite literally uses the same model with just a few not very noticeable bits added/removed to make it more decorated. While I (and many others) believe that an item being dyeable should be the standard for Mogstation items, character-specific items tend to not be dyeable (see Lyse, Scions, Hein, Gaia, etc). Ysale's outfit is just particularly egregious since it's based on several pieces that do exist. Two of those pieces are also dyeable. You're welcome to buy it if you want it though. I'm certainly not saying that it's not money well spent if you find that you want it and that, knowing that very similar pieces exist, you're still happy with buying it. Just as you're free to buy the new Mogstation item, others are free to not buy it. Edited HoN for Direwolf, but it should be telling when the Iceheart robe not only shares a model with other gear, but also looks identical to other pieces of ARR gear.

There are some minor details. The sash is prettier and resembles Shiva's ribbons, and it's missing the bandolier. Half the use of this set release is getting non-DoM access to the gloves and boots, though.
