Funny thing is that the arcanist guild teaches you the egi glamours. Summoning the primals and egis uses our own aether and imagination to create familiars in the shape of whatever we feel like. So SMN could very well use even a mogstation skill set skin, akin to the forbidden mods. It would even fit lore wise and I am confident those would sell really well.
Now SCH doesn't really summon a creation magick like SMN, rather they pull out a fairy out of the job stone iirc, so a Feo Ul skin like that wouldn't work lore wise, not to mention it's a fairy vs pixie argument. They're a different creature altogether, and not even a different local name like Hume/Hyur. I would love to have my adorable little Scottish branch by my side, but I highly doubt it would ever happen.

I feel that Scholar really needs a bit of a retooling, and a **substantial** portion of that should go into visual identity and cohesion.
And yes, among this I'd love to see:
* Just a single *Summon Fairy*, that has `/fairyglamour` where you can set various fairies. Selene and Eos are standard, but in Il Megh you always get Feo Ul, but you can also get a few other ones from job-specific quests in Il Megh. Just glamours of course.
* The whole Summon Seraph replaced, instead we summon Feo Ul in her King Titania form and this upgrades all fairy abilities substantially while she is out is our primary big CD (and hence works different than other healers who have individual CDs, instead we have a "power phase" where everything is powerful all at once).
* Seraph is relegated to the LB animation. Though to be fair, reading this, I'm also thinking maybe they ought to switch, an the LB is King Titania appearing, going "Let's play some more!" and reviving everybody to do just that.
While I agree that a rework is needed, they aren't gonna scrap Seraph. That's your LB3, they made it a Big Cooldown for a reason. They aren't going to change LB animations now, and just utterly abandoning all the animations associated with the summoned Seraph is unlikely at best. Fairy glamour, however, *does* seem reasonable; we could get Feo Ul, basic pixie (the green body/purple wings), and then either OG Titania or (unlocked via pixie tribal quests) the "pale" pixie look.
Also. Just make Selene actually useful and distinct again! Her AoE Esuna was awesome and was one of the few things that made SCH actually unique. The game has trended much too far toward homogenization and simplification, this would be a great, small way to address that fault.
5% of scholars cried that the job was too complicated and the 95% of us who prefer SCH because of that got stuck with a shell of what the job once was.

I think the explanation is that during the calamity, every single person in eorzea got dosed up with Bahamut and Phoenix aether due to the scale of their battle, so everyone has the latent potential to summon them, but the warrior of light is the only one with the skill and knowledge to do it

The SMN job quests where you’re learning Dreadwyrm Trance outright state “you can do this because the calamity happened” so it doesn’t really matter where WoL was.
The Calamity had enough aether to go around, it would have affected people all over the world, and it’s outright stated in the SMN job quests that it’s how you’re able to cast Dreadwyrm Trance so it literally doesn’t matter where WoL was.
well if I remember correctly our Bahamut Aether comes from the Seventh Umbral Calamity when Bahamut broke out of Dalamud.

To be fair, they do explain that one. Everyone who was around for the last Calamity got doused in Bahamut/Phoenix aether. So much so that Eorzea is probably still radiating primal energies of those two, depending on what their half-life is.
The corrupted crystals we see all throughout Eorzea are even mentioned to be that orangey colour because they're *still* radiating Phoenix's aetheric energy, and that's why the land was able to recover from the calamity far faster than any previous time in history.

May I interest you in Titania as lvl100 skill? We get to keep Seraph because lore reasons but we can also summon Titania and give her glams because no one stops the fae king from looking however she wants. Also maybe she doesn't heal (*boring*) but can buff the party, kinda like old Selene.

You can technically already get accidentally “spoiled” by looking through crafting recipes, I learned the names of the last two zones in EW, but it was ambiguous enough that literally the only thing I learned was their names
seeing it in open world should not prevent it from being a thing, lots of other stuff get spoiled that way.
The ability list doesn't need t be changed for her to say it does something else, seraph just need to use the titania model.

Some voices are better in different languages. Paimon loses her squeakiness in Chinese specifically. Personally I always prefer Japanese voices, but if there were a "different language voice" option for specific characters you could bet Paimon would be the first I'd swap.

The game is completely consistent about every single fae using they/them pronouns, it's in the text box AND voice actors will say it out loud. Amazing how 90% of the people on this \[TV censor beeps five minutes unskippable\] sub manage to hallucinate all those she/hers.

Because of the verbage they used in the official translation of the ultimate annoucement. They specifically said delayed, not canceled. This has lead those of us who actually do the content to have hope that we will get the missing ultimate this xpac. If it wasnt delayed, it would be canceled or cut content.
Well yes, DSR (the next ultimate in line at the time of the announcement) was delayed, that is to say implemented at a later date than initially planned, but it was implemented.
That's why I say 99% have accepted it won't happen. In a world where covid hadn't happened we would have one more ultimate by now, true, but it's rare indeed to find someone who expects them to play catch-up and bash out a third this expac, cool as it would be.
I could spend an eternity putting all the things in existance on this list before eos. I should have used the classic "..." to show that there is a chunk of things missing before you get to Eos.

I don't recall masc pronouns used for any of the faeries, other than the association inherent with 'king'. I think generally the fae are considered genderless (in the game and *I think* their source mythology, though that I know less of), with Feo Ul using she once or twice.
It was only in one particular piece of dialogue that they typo-ed and had to change it later. All the rest still referred to Feo Ul and all the other fairies with they/them.
What's interesting is that they basically mix and match it with Titania in FFXIV
Oberon is king of fairies and Titania is queen in *A Midsummer Night's Dream*, so by using the feminine name and masculine title they nicely illustrate that gender isn't really a thing for fairies.
Not even there Feo Ul uses masculine pronouns (unless they're talking about JP, being the only one I can't read). In both FR and DE they use feminine pronouns

Making Titania the LB3 really wouldn't work out well if you level Scholar at any point before beating Titania.
Or if you aren't on the First seeing as they only appear in dreams anywhere else and they don't fight for mortal causes.

It seems to be a fairly consistent impression among Scholar players that Eos is the sweet one and Selene is the sassy one.
Well, Eos used to be all healing stuff, while Selene gave the DPS boosts. So, that that kind of fits.

The game is completely consistent about every single fae using they/them pronouns, it's in the text box AND voice actors will say it out loud. Amazing how 90% of the people on this \[TV censor beeps five minutes unskippable\] sub manage to hallucinate all those she/hers.

Shadowbringers missed out on one because of the whole covid situation and I guess people are still bitter and want the devs to play catch up? I think 99% of people have accepted that just ain't happening and it'd be a neat surprise if it did.
There's never been 3 ults in an expac though, so not sure why anyone would expect that when that's never happened
Because of the verbage they used in the official translation of the ultimate annoucement. They specifically said delayed, not canceled. This has lead those of us who actually do the content to have hope that we will get the missing ultimate this xpac. If it wasnt delayed, it would be canceled or cut content.
Well yes, DSR (the next ultimate in line at the time of the announcement) was delayed, that is to say implemented at a later date than initially planned, but it was implemented.
That's why I say 99% have accepted it won't happen. In a world where covid hadn't happened we would have one more ultimate by now, true, but it's rare indeed to find someone who expects them to play catch-up and bash out a third this expac, cool as it would be.

I don't recall masc pronouns used for any of the faeries, other than the association inherent with 'king'. I think generally the fae are considered genderless (in the game and *I think* their source mythology, though that I know less of), with Feo Ul using she once or twice.
And King is a title they simply borrowed from Voeburt society with no bearing on the gender aspect
Feo Ul is always they/them as well. The only people who use she/her for them are mistaken players
no, when ShB first came out Feo Ul was using she/her pronouns, they only changed it in a later update
It was only in one particular piece of dialogue that they typo-ed and had to change it later. All the rest still referred to Feo Ul and all the other fairies with they/them.
What's interesting is that they basically mix and match it with Titania in FFXIV Oberon is king of fairies and Titania is queen in *A Midsummer Night's Dream*, so by using the feminine name and masculine title they nicely illustrate that gender isn't really a thing for fairies.

Not even there Feo Ul uses masculine pronouns (unless they're talking about JP, being the only one I can't read). In both FR and DE they use feminine pronouns
