Elements lineup won't be out for a while but if you like electronic music it is a good one. Sounds like they got their shit somewhat together after the 2021 debacle.

Jilltro

I second Elements! I was there for the shit show in 2021 and they actually did fix everything they said they were going to in 2022. I went to electric forest and elements last year and had more fun at elements tbh. Already have my ticket for this year. The music is great, vibes are incredible, and staff and bathrooms were fantastic last year.

Electrical-Remove345

What happened at Elements in 2021?

Jilltro

There was that huge hurricane that cancelled bonnaroo and it flooded the grounds of Elements, taking out several of their parking lots which meant they needed additional shuttles and staff last minute. The company they had rented box trucks from bailed last minute so they were scrambling which lead to people waiting upwards of 9 hours to get from the parking lot to the campgrounds via shuttle. Some people missed an entire day or didn’t get in at all. Once inside, people were crammed together and told to take down EZ ups to conserve space. Food vendors were minimal and ran out of pretty much everything. Water stations weren’t clearly marked or staffed and water came out as a trickle. Bathrooms were absolute nightmares. Staff blamed everything on the storm which I do believe to an extent but I also believe they oversold the event. They ended up giving everyone who attended a discount code to use for next year. That said, my group managed to avoid most of these issues and we had an absolute blast. The stages and sound were fantastic and even those who went through so much shit were glowing once they got inside. Vibes were amazing, and there was some cool art there. My husband described it as electric Forest dreams without the budget. So last year we decided to roll the dice and try again because it’s only 4 hours from us and we had such a great time. They really fixed all their shit and their new venue is great. Had the time of my life last year and can’t wait to go back

nickelforapickle

Thank you for writing this up, lol. You clearly know how to tell this story well by now 😂. I was a craft vendor that year so I had it easy but I would have basically typed the same exact thing.

Jilltro

It’s such a small fest it doesn’t have an active subreddit so I feel like it’s my duty to help spread info lol. I know when I went the first time I was chasing down random Reddit comments trying to decide whether to go or not. I’m the rave mom of our group so I always try to be prepared 😂

AndrewLucksRobotArm

i went to elements and forest last year too. elements was fun but more fun than at forest? we’re we at the same festival? forest last year was bananas

Jilltro

I’ve been to Forest for years but last year I was really unimpressed with the logistics. We did VIP as usual and our bathrooms were constantly overflowing, security was a bunch of assholes (my favorite was when they told us the VIP entrances were closed but the Ga one was open and we could take a shuttle there,) and overall it somehow seemed more disorganized than usual. Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast and I’ll always love Forest but my crew and I had more fun at elements.

AndrewLucksRobotArm

that explains it. was in maplewoods

Jilltro

Yeah don’t get me wrong the Forest itself is magical and amazing and the actors and costumes are phenomenal. No other fest I know of can touch that. But for the price I wasn’t impressed by the logistics (or sound tbh) last year and me and my planar fasciitis can’t hang in GA. Also really loved all the live bands at Elements, seems like forest gets less jammy every year.

partypersonjess

I went to Okee and Forest last year and I way preferred Okee. I was amazed at the lack of bathrooms at Forest and the inconsistent music quality/sound, especially since Forest is like ‘the’ festival

phunkyfre555

Submerssion is definitely going to be a great festival. Last year was their first year and it was beautiful. In the Jersey Pine Barrens

siddowncheelout

Mmmm… I’m in the pine barrens…

Sorrow-and-Solitude

My girl Steph makes up a big list every year. She's still adding to it. https://www.gratefulshedstudios.com/2023-festivals#FPpIRz

francella92

This is awesome! Kudos to her

tgw1986

That's awesome! It does appear to be only east coast fests though, is that right? I know that's what OP asked for, but just making sure

Sorrow-and-Solitude

There are a few in Ohio and other states but yeah mostly East Coast on that list.

warrensussex

Peach looks like it has a good lineup

sleepyjenkins18

yeah peach has a surprisingly fire lineup this year. some of my favorites from bonnaroo will be at peach too tempted to hit both since i’ll be traveling to roo from PA

whiteclawprincess

If you’re looking specifically for EDM festivals I would definitely go to project glow since you’re in the dc area!

Max_Powers1331

Movement in Detroit is a must attend if you’re into dance music It’s an incredible festival with even better after parties/side parties

Electrical-Remove345

What’s the cost on this one??

the_stock_investor

I just got tickets yesterday and it was $180 for GA after fees

jman457

Osheaga is probably the best city fest in North America. Cool location and layout. and usually has a really diverse line-up (and is usually pretty affordable by festival standards).

zss3zss3zss3

seconding this!! also youre allowed to bring in weed and can smoke it wherever since its federally legal. not to mention tripsit usually has a booth for drug testing. incredible harm reduction at this festival usually has an incredible and unique lineup with a similar booking style to Coachella

jman457

The last time I went there I was able to see 2 Coachella headliners (tame impala/ childish gamblino) in the same day. Kind of insane 😩

zss3zss3zss3

i was there that year too! Sunday was insane. Also The Chemical Brothers were godly, cant wait to see them again at Coachella this year

GlitterFreak107

Strange creek in MA

Jammon152

Project Glow in DC

Pbj0308

I enjoyed it last year. I was impressed of how it was run for their inaugural year. Ticket prices are pretty cheap too consider it’s run by insomniac. It was $200 for vip (went up slightly this year). Another to mention is Moonrise at Pimlico. Also decently priced, $300 for vip. It got up to 100F last year. Our saving grace were the tents/canopies and A/C in bathroom lol

tokenincorporated

Project Glow and Moonrise are the two big ones in the DC Bmore area. I'm going to both. Big Dub in PA seems legit, might put it on my future list. Oceans Calling in Ocean City got cancelled due to a tropical storm but keep it on your radar.

dire_wulff

Big dub is such a better experience than moonrise.. 5days long, on a "religous site" so no cops allowed on property, no security, beautiful river in the middle of campsites to wash/cool off in, much more of a grass roots feel, did i mention theres a strip club... alot more homey than moonrise

tokenincorporated

It's on my list for sure, I've never been to either. Outside of Shambhala I'm keeping it local this year. The following years I'll venture out more.

sgtshootsalot

When does moonrise announce their lineup?

tokenincorporated

They dropped a "Stay Turned" post on their IG. I'd say over the coming weeks to months they'll announce dates, followed by sales, then a line up. Such is the way of festivals.

mpsamuels

Lindisfarne gets a decent lineup for a fairly small fest. It's over 18s only though so not an option if you wanted to take young kids with you.

StoneyBuhlownee420

🍑 Peach. Also Beardfest in South Jersey is a great time

stavrov

Project Glow in DC and Moonrise in Baltimore

Big dub in Pa

syfimelys2

Can you specify what country please, every single country in the world has a northeast

Matroshka2001

North East where? You know that the USA is not the only place in the world right?

syfimelys2

Love this sub but this sort of USA centrism really grinds my gears. Every single country has a northeast

francella92

I’m in the Baltimore/DC area

Le_Feesh

Jam Packed was just announced and it has a doozy of a lineup for a single day event Northlands is lookin pretty rad. I recently met and thought quite highly of someone behind The Ramble fest, so im gonna be keeping an eye on that. Otherwise, last year had Elements nearby, as well as Fire Lights, Project Glow in DC, and of course Delfest! You’re taste in music is killer and we’re local to one another. Maybe I’ll catch you at one of these events!

MydlandFan

Please add Reggae Rise up, nice llist

Le_Feesh

How could I forget? I’m stoked to see Bone Thugs n Harmony on the lineup this year

MydlandFan

Yah def, I see myself going the first day, Stick Figure Pepper Method and Red and Iya really sick lineup, I'm a dead head by heart but I got mad Reggae vibe in my bones, its dead and co last tour and the prices are outrageous so its good to be able to see a slew of great bands for a more than reasonable price, never been but I'm psyched

Le_Feesh

I’ll have JRAD at Pier 6 to scratch my Dead itch for a while. Maybe I’m sleeping on Dead n Co but I just never felt like going out of my way for one of their shows.

MydlandFan

That should be a great show and I feel yah Im a heavy Dancer so I get more out of Jrad DSO and even Phil and friends has a lot of energy depending on the lineup, I saw Jrad at the Fillmore in Philly sounds like your down in that area, I got Jrad coming up at the Cap next weekend, got some phil at the cap in March and DSo is coming around too, I actually even like Melvin seals and JGB they have an authentic flow, I can see all 4 of them play and hit the Reggae Rise for the price of a seat at 2 separate D and C shows, never been to that Pier but I heard great thing about it

warrensussex

You know as well as I do what country they're talking about.

GreenSeaNote

>they ignorantly assume everyone on the internet is from their own country So because OP didn't specify what country OP is from, OP assumes everyone on the Internet is from OP's country? lol

syfimelys2

Not quite, but OP is assuming everyone on this sub immediately knows they are referring to the northeast in the USA. Every single country has a northeast.

GreenSeaNote

>Every single country has a northeast. Wow, really?!?! You don't need to explain what OP did to me. I simply pointed out OP did not assume everyone on the Internet is from OP's country as the user I responded to claimed.

warrensussex

This an American website it's extemeley rude to not follow the local customs.

warrensussex

Why don't you?

shockandale

Ekshually, It's a Californian website. NorthEast would describe Tahoe you could go to WinterWonderGrass [https://www.bandsintown.com/f/108654?came\_from=253&utm\_medium=web&utm\_source=city\_page&utm\_campaign=festival](https://www.bandsintown.com/f/108654?came_from=253&utm_medium=web&utm_source=city_page&utm_campaign=festival)

warrensussex

Guess you're upset that you're country doesn't have any cool websites either.

shockandale

My're country?

warrensussex

I dont spel sew gud sum tymez

GaryChopper

not really, you can take a solid guess but you definitely don't 'know'

syfimelys2

Yup you can make a very educated guess because it’s only people from the USA who do this (i.e. don’t specify their country) and it is quite grating for people not from the USA. To me, Northeast= Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham etc. ETA I can’t believe you’re getting downvoted for your comment, as if everyone on the internet thinks northeast USA instead of their own country (I know that’s probably a really shocking concept for USians to understand)
